Schnee Manor, Atlas
Weiss, Hope, and Winter approach the large front doors of their family's home. The sisters knew about what was going on with the divorce between their mother and father. Both of them agreed with the decision completely. Weiss looks over to Hope and frowns. The little girl seemed to be gazing off toward the academy in interest. After a second Hope shook her head and turned her gaze back to the Schnee Manor in front of them. Weiss wonders what could have caught the little girls interest. Another conversation for later she thought... after apologizing to Pyrrha for her lack of attendance to the after school training sessions of course.
Weiss sighs at the though before focusing her gaze on the large double doors in front of them. The house Weiss noticed seemed much more welcoming this time around. Nothing was actually changed about the manor's appearance of course. It simply had a better feel to it. Like a dark cloud that had once plagued it had drifted away. Weiss supposed that a dark cloud had indeed drifted away after lousing a divorce, and getting kicked out.
As the three approach the doors suddenly begin opening as Klein waits there with orange eyes and a big smile on his face. "Welcome home." He says. In his hands was a silver tray with candy canes on it which he offered to the trio. Weiss grabs one for Hope then one for herself though Winter simply waves a hand to politely decline the candy. Winter wasn't a fan of them. She had grown an odd disliking of them when she was younger, and had yet to leave her. It was odd because it had been her favorite candy for a time though she dose note that she had stopped liking them around the time her grandfather Nicolas Schnee died. "Your mother is in the dinning room currently. I do believe she expected you to take a little longer in getting here." Klein says breaking Winter from her thoughts.
"Thank you Klein." Weiss says appreciatively.
Klein smiles his eyes changing color as he seemed all bubbly and happy. "Well of course madam." He steps aside and the sisters walk in with Hope. Suddenly Hope stops frowning as she looks out the door behind them. Weiss who had been holding the girls hand noticed and turned to her.
"What's wrong Hope?" Weiss asks. Winter turns as well.
Hope's eyes softens with a disappointed expression. "I don't know momma." The girl says. She turns around shaking her head before smiling up at her mother. "Let's see Grandma, momma."
Weiss glances to Winter who gave a light shrug and decided to move on from the first comment. The three made their way through the house once perceived to be a prison to the sisters. Soon they found the dinning room where Willow Schnee stood placing a pie onto the table. There were other foods as well including Caviar, and Truffles. Willow was quick to spot them giving out a startled gasp.
"Oh! You three got here quite fast." Willow says before gesturing to the table. "Please, take a seat."
"Thank you mother." Weiss says politely doing as she was asked. She took a seat closer to her mother with Hope right next to her, Winter sat across from Weiss, and Willow sat at the head seat of the long table. Soon enough Whitley entered the room.
He gave his sisters each a glance with a neutral expression. "Hello sisters." His eyes then traveled to Hope clearing his throat. "Niece." Hope waved to him with a bright smile.
"Hello Uncle Witty." She says.
Winter snorts holding in laughter at the sudden unexpected words. Weiss didn't fair as well as she started giggling furiously at the name Hope called her brother by. Willow gave a soft laugh as well and Whitley narrowed his eyes not appreciating the event.
"Hope?" Winter asks gaining her attention. "His name is Whitley."
"I know, but that's hard to say so I called him Uncle Witty." Hope says causing another round of laughter
"He wishes he was Witty." Weiss mutters jokingly a tad louder than intended. Willow gave her a disapproving glance.
Whitley however took the comment in stride as he took a seat next to Winter. "I didn't take you for one to use crude comments Sister." He tells Weiss.
"Crude?" Hope asks not understanding the unfamiliar word.
Willow speaks up. "It means rough or foul." She says quickly giving the two a look. "Now I didn't bring you all here to send mean jabs to one another." Willow turns to Weiss with a kinder gaze. "Now firstly I'd like discuss your plans for enrolling Hope into a school program."
Weiss was taken aback. "Oh. Well sure, but as a huntress in training I'm not always going to be able to give her transportation to a school." Weiss says.
Willow nods in agreement. "Yes but I've recently looked into something that could help you with that." She looks past Weiss and nods. Weiss turns to see Klein walk up placing a pamphlet onto the table. It was a pamphlet for a home schooling company that was present across The Four Kingdoms. The pricing wasn't bad and in Vale it was completely free. "I've spoken with several people about it and while I don't believe this should be a permanent solution I do believe it will help you get through your schooling while Hope gets to start hers."
Weiss smiles at the idea. Looking to her mother Weiss gives a grateful nod. "Thank you mother. I'll see about enrolling her immediately." Willow noted that Hope didn't seem concerned with the idea, but rather happy. Perhaps she didn't understand what school was and trusted her mother to do what was right. Willow couldn't tell.
Willow then turned to Winter. "Now. Winter?" The eldest sister turns almost startled.
"Yes mother?"
"I don't think it is unknown to any of us that your father cut you off from the allowance you saved over the years." Willow states. "I must say I am so proud to see that your standing on your own feet and even thriving despite this." Winter's jaw was open slightly her mind racing from the praise. "So. I have decided you should get this as an apology for your fathers actions, and a token for proving that our family strength comes from more than the Schnee name." As she was speaking Klein approached Winter's side. Once Willow finished he pulled an envelope from his vest and handed it to her.
Winter stares at it for a moment hands shaking slightly before glancing to her mother seeming to seek approval. Willow nods and Winter slowly turns back to the envelope opening it gently. She reached in and pulled out a light blue debit card with the Schnee snowflake on it with Winter's name on it.
She quickly looks back to her mother shaking her head rapidly. "I can't except this. Mother I..."
"You can and will." Willow cuts her off. "You are the only one in our family currently to have your account deleted. With help from bank records and calling in a favor I opened you this new account and placed every cent you had saved back into it. As you are an adult already making a living I will inform you that I won't be adding anymore to your account for an allowance. I am simply returning what your father stole from you for his own petty whims." Winter was shocked beyond belief. This was not at all what she had expected her mother to do. Willow gives Winter a soft pained look. "All I ask of you Winter is to use this money wisely. Alright?"
Winter felt a tear fall from her eye and she wiped it away. "Alright."
"Now." Willow says. "Let's eat." There were murmurs of agreement.
Headmaster's Office, Atlas Academy
Coco slams her fist onto the table causing Ironwood to flinch back a bit his hand quickly moving to his weapon on his hip. "You are going to tell me what the hell those things were out there!" Coco demanded. "We nearly died out there. Hell people DID die out there. That entire village became victims to those, those things!"
Ironwood sighed. "We don't know." He says.
"Excuse me?!" Coco questions.
"All we know about what happened was what information you brought back." Ironwood explains. "Here in Solitas spider like creatures shouldn't be able to survive. We don't know what these things are nor do we understand how they survive the winter climate of this continent." He continues. "Listen. I can assure you that we had no idea what caused the settlement to go dark. We believed it was due to Grimm not what you encountered."
Coco calmed a bit taking the information in. After a moment she spoke again. "Are there any plans to deal with them?" She asks.
Ironwood shakes his head. "Not yet though I have my people working on it. For now I suggest that you and your team take a few days to rest. Understood?"
Coco takes a breath before nodding. "Fine." She says.
