"Hup!"
He pivoted on his foot to meet the Hellhound about to pounce on him. A slash and it exploded into a cloud of ash, the only trace left of it being the purple crystal clattering on the floor. A shrill yell was heard behind him.
"Master Bell!"
Wha-
He only had enough time to turn around fast enough to see Lili jumping in front of him, and more importantly, the Hellhound flying towards her, teeth bared, spittle flying in the air.
Nonononononononono-
Pallum made contact with beast. In an instant, both went sailing past him, before Lili's back hit the cave wall with a dull thunk.
He screamed.
Welf was after it before he was, too frozen in shock to do anything but stand there. A heavy swing on his sword and Excelia exploded into the air. Bell regained his bearings, and soon he was by her side. A puddle of blood pooled beneath her body. The sight of vibrant red burned into his vision. Ragged gasps tore through his breath as tears collected at the ends of his eyes.
"-rry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please don't die, I'm sorry..-" He choked on his sobs, keeling over her body as he uttered more apologies.
Needless to say, that Dungeon dive was cut short. Welf ended up having to carry an injured Lili and usher an unstable Bell through multiple Floors on the way up.
