"Hey Blaze…" Amy found the purple witch cat by the fountain reading a Harry Potter book. The pink hedgehog walked up to her like a normal person to not startle her, that would probably end up with Blaze falling into the fountain, and most likely thin the chances of her saying yes to Amy's question. But the way she said her greeting made it obvious that she wanted something.
The cat didn't look up from her book at first. It wasn't until Amy repeated herself that she noticed her prescence. She shyly looked up from her book to see the vampiress hedgehog smiling at her.
"Amy…"
"Can I ask you something?"
The cat slowly put her book down and sighed. "I suppose."
Amy clapped her hands together. "Great! I need your help."
"If it's finding out Sonic's locker combination, I don't know, he just got them to change it again-"
"He did? Damn- I mean, no. It has nothing to do with Sonic this time. I promise."
Blaze raised an eyebrow. "Promise?"
Amy nodded and tried to put on the cutest, most innocent face she could put on.
"…I don't believe you."
"Huh?" The cute face fell off. "Why?"
"Because you're obsessed with him, and it's very suspicious that you want MY help when you know that…"
"Oh, that you like him and he likes you? I know. And that's exactly why I don't like you that much. BUT, I NEED a drummer for my band."
"No."
The pink hedgehog whipped out her claws. "Bitch do I have to threaten you?"
Blaze sighed. "You were gonna do that anyway."
"So you're in?"
"I guess…"
Amy jumped in the air waiting for a high five. She floated there while the cat rolled her eyes at her.
"High five?" Amy asked.
"No."
"So you're absolutely sure you want to go through with this?" Ky asked his sister. They were standing in the Library in the corner of a bookshelf.
"Yes, I already told you that this is what I want." Kris answered.
"Because I can tell Blaze that we aren't doing it if you changed your mind." Ky responded nervously.
"Why do you sound so afraid? This is a great thing! I'll get to be back in my body and-"
"Shhhh!" Ky shushed. "Shadow could have a familiar around here somewhere. And he's gonna be pissed when he finds out-"
Kris tilted her head. "Finds out what?"
The yellow vampire hedgehog looked around. "That- Jeez uh- let's go." He then walked her out of the Library in a hurry. He found Blaze and Amy near the fountain outside. The ghost tried to hug the two girls.
"Hey guys, what're you doing?" She asked.
Amy smiled. "Well, I'm starting a band, and Blaze just became our drummer."
"She threatened m-"
"Shut up!"
"…Okay." Kris floated behind Ky and pushed him forward. "Tell them what we're doing!" She started to bounce up and down in excitement.
Ky looked at her over his shoulder and back at them. "Ok, so Blaze already knows this, but we're doing a ritual thing tomorrow to put Kris back into her body, and you're welcome to come if you want to. It's at the graveyard where Silver lives.
"That's interesting." Amy replied "How long have you been a ghost?"
Kris phased through Ky, giving him the chills. "Well…I don't really know. All I know is that apparently, I had a body at one point."
"You have to have had a body at one point in order to be a ghost." Ky mumbled under his breath.
"…Smart ass…" The ghost replied quietly.
Ky stepped in front of her again and lowered his voice. "The really important thing is, that Shadow does NOT find out about any of this. I'm also inviting Sonic and Tails to come, and the Graveyard is Silver's house so he'll be there regardless."
"Why?" Amy asked.
"You'll find out when we do the thing. Just keep quiet around him."
Everyone nodded. "It's not like he'd be pleasant anyways."
They stopped talking about it and started talking about other things that weren't as serious to ease the newfound tension.
"So about this band thing, how are you going to do this?"
Amy pulled out her old electric guitar from the 80s. "My dad got me this in 1984."
"You have a dad?" Ky asked. Amy glared at him and looked over her axe.
"He died."
"Oh…Sorry."
"As I was about to say, I know how to play a bit." She stroked the neck of it. "I'm part of the reason why the "No Stairway" sign exists. But I never thought I would use this for anything.
"Play it."
Amy looked at Ky. "Okay, if you want me to." She tuned the guitar and pulled out an amp that ran on black magic from her nowhere pocket. She then played the beginning of "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
They listened to her play. She made a few mistakes here and there but she was decent overall.
"That was decent." Ky said with a smile and his arms folded.
"Really? Thanks." Amy answered. "I know I need to practice more; I haven't done this in a while. But I think starting a band would be a really fun thing to do."
"It does sound fun." Kris replied. "I wish I had learned how to play drums."
"Well it's not too late." Amy smiled "You're still young, you have time."
"Yeah."
They started walking inside the school again.
"So, what are you guys going to call yourselves?" Ky asked while raking his claws on the lockers beside him to create an ear splitting, painful noise that caused other kids to hold their heads.
"Well, I was thinking about something involving the word Rose, you know, to incorporate me into the band's identity, and I also think it sounds beautiful."
"You really love yourself don't you?" Ky said and laughed.
"Of course I do! You should know me by now."
"It's a really good thing to be able to love yourself though." Kris added. "It's not that easy to do."
Amy nodded. She floated up to the rafters and sat on one of them. "I'll have more news for you guys later. I have to meet with Shadow later.
"Okay! But whatever you do, don't make a peep about what is going on tomorrow night." Ky shouted at her.
"I won't." She started to morph into a black mist. "Bye! I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Bye!" They all told her.
"So, where exactly is my body?" Kris asked as she and her brother went in a secret passage behind a plank of wood that posed as the back of a closet in their house."
"Dad told me that he put your body somewhere down here when you died." Ky answered and moved on with a lit torch in his hand that he got off the stone passage wall as they walked in. "Except I don't remember where in here he put you."
"Kris floated next to him. "So, are we going to be down here for a while then?"
"It looks like it…" Ky pushed away a boulder, opening up more of the path.
They went on, following each other in a maze of darkness where they could easily have gotten lost. There wasn't much to look at, just dusty, dirt filled corridors that mostly just led them to dead ends. The only things living down here were bugs, spiders, rats and bats, which Ky wasn't sure if the bats were any of their relatives. He tried to be as quiet as possible as to not wake them.
Ky coughed as dirt was accidentally inhaled. "God damn it, why did he have to put you far back in here. Nobody is going to steal your body anyway." He mumbled to himself Kris still followed silently. He raised his arm as he was walking to cough into his sleeve when he forgot to look where he was going.
"Oof!" Ky bumped into something raised up from the ground. "Whoh!" He caught his balance and held onto the torch. "What the-?" He held the torch out to see what he was looking at.
"Ky? Are you okay?!" Kris asked worriedly. She floated in front of him to see if he was hurt.
"I'm fine, I just bumped into something." He answered. He lifted the torch up to illuminate the room they had found themselves in. "Well, we found a big room, that's for sure." He moved it around to see all the jewels on the walls. "Rouge would like this place…"
"Ky I think I found something!" Kris exclaimed while still over at the spot where Ky had bumped himself. "Bring the torch over here. I can't see."
"Then how do you know you've found something." He asked in a quizzed tone and walked over to her.
"Just hold it over here so I can see what I'm looking at." She answered.
Ky did as he was told and held up the torch. Beneath the illumination of the flame, there was what seemed to be a dark brown wooden coffin. Kris looked closer and found an inscription carved into the wood in Romanian.
"Do you want me to read it?" Ky asked as she was trying to see what it said.
"I can read this! Just hold on a second…A wonderful daughter, taken from us too soon, here she lies to rest."
Her brother frowned and looked at the ground for a second. "We found you. Would you want to see your body now, or wait till the resurrection ritual?"
"Can I see it now?"
Ky sighed. "Alright…"
Ky opened the coffin lid and they both looked inside. Lay there was Kris' physical form, A red hedgehog wearing a white nightgown. She looked to have not had much, if any decay on her.
"Wow…" Kris whispered. "I thought I'd be all decayed and gross."
"No, we don't decay that quickly. Dad put a spell on it to keep it preserved."
" How do you know this?"
"He told me. I have no idea why he didn't tell you." Ky closed the coffin lid and looked at his sister. "I'm gonna teleport this back to the house. Hang on to it."
Kris nodded and did so. "Alright, now what?"
"You might feel a tingly feeling when we teleport. Three, two, one."
The two of them and the coffin teleported out of the chamber, spooking the bats and making them scatter.
