Amy bounced while she walked, following Shadow to his house. The black and red hedgehog was walking very slowly, to hopefully shorten the time that he had to show Amy his guitar skills, and the sun would chase her away back to her own home. The area around them was dead silent, apart from the click-clack of Amy's boots on the sidewalk.

Shadow breathed in and turned around sharply. "Again, why do you want me of all people?" He asked.

"Because friends help each other out."

"Dammit…" Shadow muttered under his breath and turned around again to continue walking.

Soon both vampires arrived at Shadow's house and went inside. Shadow's mom was watching late-night television but picked up the presence of her son. "What took you so long? You're usually home earlier Shad."

"There was a bit of a slowdown." He pointed behind him at Amy with his thumb.

Mrs. Robotnik stood up from the couch. "Oh?"

Amy waved at her. "Hi, I'm here so that Shadow can show me something of his."

Mrs. Robotnik smiled. "You're always welcome here Amy, how's your mother?"

"She's fine."

"Okay, your mom can talk to my mom later, no need to relay information." Shadow interrupted. "Let's get upstairs!" Shadow grabbed Amy by the arm and pulled her up the stairs to his room.

Once inside she pulled away from him. "That was very rude!" She told him.

Shadow pulled out his guitar case and opened it up. "Do you want to hear me play, or do you want to chit-chat with my mother all night?" He replied as he set up his small amp, plugged it into the wall and plugged in his bass guitar.

"That's a bass." Amy said.

"Yes, it is."

Shadow sat back in his large red beanbag and started to tune. "Making sure this is gonna sound right."

The pink vampiress waited for him to finish tuning, and when he was done, she waited with a soft smile on her face.

Shadow looked at her, then down at his bass. "Here's what I can do."

Shadow played a few notes, and then played a riff for her. Amy listened intently.

"Wow Shadow, you're pretty good."

"Thank you."

She smiled. "You're gonna be in my band."

"Oh joy."

Shadow continued to play little tidbits until Amy decided that it was time to go home, to where she could be back before her mom knew that she had left the house. The girl flew up to her bedroom and went in through the window. Amy plopped down on her beanbag and began writing with a smile on her face.

Just a distraction from Sonic, Amy, stop being creepy, or else he won't like you.

"You're going to do what?" Tails asked into the phone. He tapped his pencil eraser on his homework and glanced at his textbook.

"We're going to put Kris back in her body."

Ky was on the other end of the line at his house, talking while looking at the book. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. "If you want to come to Silver's place you're welcome to."

Tails scratched his head. "I don't know, aren't rituals not allowed?"

There was a long sigh. "I have no idea, and I don't really care." Our parents are out of town…out of country right now. But just THINK of the reaction my parents would have to Kris being back to the way she was before!"

"Kyle, you are going to get in so much trouble, I know it, and I do not want to be a part of this." The fox replied.

There was a long pause.

"…Fine, you are NO fun." Ky replied back. "Just, make sure Sonic is coming, we might need him, and he's FUN."

"…I do not have time for this." Tails put down his pencil. "I'll make sure if Sonic is going, I have an assignment due, and I don't want him messing up my house and distracting me tomorrow."

"Yes."

Tails hung up the phone. He turned around in his chair and shouted as loud as he could across the house. "Sonic! You're going to the ritual tomorrow night!"

"I'm doing what?!" Sonic responded from his room.

"I said, you're going over to Silver's house tomorrow for Ky's ritual!"

The sounds of gunshots from Sonic's TV didn't pause.

The orange fox took in a deep breath and tried to make his small pre-drop voice be heard over it. "SONIC YOU'RE GOING TO SILVER'S TOMORROW!"

"…OKAY BUT, YOU KNOW THAT TOMORROW IS A FULL MOON, RIGHT?" Sonic replied over the TV. "…OHHHH I GET IT!"

"YES! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR GAME UP SO LOUD?! I THOUGHT YOU HAD A HEADSET!"

"IT'S FOR COMMUNICATING!"

"PLEASE CAN YOU TURN IT DOWN? I'M DOING HOMEWORK!"

The loud war sounds coming from Sonic's room lowered. Tails sighed and picked up his pencil again. "I don't know how I get anything done."

Sonic turned back around to his game to find out that he'd been killed. "Shit!"

The werehog heard familiar laughter.

"Shadow! You mother-! I was talking to Tails!" He growled through his teeth.

"Everyone heard!" Shadow replied.

Sonic gripped his hands more to the controller, scratching the plastic. "Yeah, ok, enjoy your ONE kill! Everybody also knows that you fucking suck at shooters!"

"GO FUCK YOURSELF SONIC!" He heard Shadow yell.

Sonic smirked to himself and didn't reply. He respawned and continued the online match into the daytime until he got tired. The werehog had transformed back into his normal form when the sun had come up, and he could finally sleep without burning up.

The next evening Ky woke up sweating, his undead heart pulsing, breathing in and out and looking around his room for his sister.

"Kris!"

His voice wore out and turned into dry coughs. His throat felt like a desert, even though the rest of him was covered in sweat. A chilling sweat. The yellow hedgehog pushed his bangs out of his eyes looked down at himself. His white shirt was soaked.

"W-what time is it?" He asked himself quietly and looked at his phone. The bright screen in the dark illuminated his panicked, yet tired face, he brought it away to regain his sight, and looked at the clock on it.

"7:52 P.M." He groaned and fell back on his pillow. "Right. Gotta get up. Get up so that we can do the thing."

Ky got up out of his coffin and peeked out of his window. The outside was dark already, and there were dark clouds everywhere. He scoffed and pulled the curtains together.

"Good. As long as those clouds cover, everything will be fine…"

He put on his slippers and walked out of his room towards the bathroom.

"Ky, I heard you scream my name." Kris' wispy figure reformed behind him at his door.

"What the-?!" The yellow hedgehog's hair stood straight up. "Kris?!"

The red hedgehog floated there. "Yes, I live here too."

Ky's hair went down slowly and he started to relax. "You scared me." A shiver ran down his spine. "I'm sorry I walked through you again."

Kris folded her arms. "I'm used to people doing that. Now, what were you calling me for?"

Ky glanced at the floor and his hands started to shake. "I-I just had a bad dream, and I guess you were in it. But it was just a dream." He explained.

Kris unfolded her arms and put her arms around her brother. "You need a hug."

Even though Ky only felt cold tingling around where her arms were, he appreciated the gesture. When the ghost girl released the hug, he leaned back in the wall. The clock in the hallway ticked away.

"Thank you, Kris, it's been a long time since I've had a nightmare so bad that it woke me up."

Kris nodded and floated down the hall. She looked back at him and blinked. "What was it about?" She asked.

The yellow vampire started to walk toward the bathroom. "If you really want to hear about it, I'll tell you after I get out of the shower, okay?"

Kris nodded and floated downstairs.

Ky sat down at the kitchen table with a bowl of cereal, stirring it and watching his sister watch him try to eat. He looked at his cereal and pushed it aside. "Ok, you wanna know what happened. I'll tell you what happened…"

Ky described his dream, as best as he could recollect it. The setting was of the graveyard. It was cold and windy, the grey tombstones had started to crumble, and had been taken over by moss and vines, what few mausoleums there were, were in better shape than them. The owls were out hunting and there were a few stray cats roaming around in the place they called home, a dark and gloomy home, but a home for them nevertheless. He and Blaze were preforming the ritual while a few other people were watching. They watched the clouds part to reveal the supermoon above, and then the ritual started to take effect.

"Then, then. Ugh…" Ky grabbed his head in his hands as it started to ache, and the dream started to distort and fade. "Sorry, I've, got a headache…"

"Do you want some medicine?" Kris asked as she started to float over to the medicine cabinet.

"No! No, I think I'm okay." He raised his head and let his hands fall onto the table. "I'm sorry, I can't remember the rest of the dream." He pushed his hair out of his eyes. "Just uh, I'll get the pain meds out and take them with me." Ky got up and retrieved them and picked up his backpack. He smiled warmly as he said:

"The moon is high, and the time is right. Let's go get you reunited with yourself."
