Hours had passed and the storm was finally over, allowing daylight to brighten the place again.

The gang had managed to find a storm shelter in the hollow of a tree big and thick enough to shelter everyone and ride out the storm.

"Good thing it's over." said Littlefoot.

"Yeah." said Cera before shaking herself to get the water off her. "We could have found a better shelter, though. That one was leaking."

"I know how you feel." said Chomper, remembering how the cave he and Ruby were in leaked and they had to move.

"But it was the only safe place we could find. The storm would have hurt us if we hadn't found that one safe place." said Ruby.

"Now that the storm is over, we can be on our way. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.

"Petrie, can you fly over and see where we are? Maybe that will help us get our bearings." said Littlefoot.

Petrie nodded before taking flight, ascending high enough to see over the trees.

"Me not see nothing weird." said Petrie before turning to the side and that's when he let out a small gasp. "Wait. Me see something!" shouted Petrie.

"What did you see?" asked Chomper curiously.

"Follow me. Me show you." said Petrie leading the others to where what he saw was.

They ran for a while until they stopped near a river and when they saw what the flyer saw, they were quite surprised.

In the middle of the river, there were a couple of rocks and against them was a log of wood that surely stopped when it hit the rocks while being dragged by the current, but what caught their attention the most was that there was someone unconscious and clinging to the log.

What they didn't know was that it was the crown princess of Avalor, Elena.

"Who is she?" asked Ducky.

"Rather. What is she? I've never seen a creature like that." said Cera.

"That doesn't matter. We have to save her." said Littlefoot.

"But how? The water in the river is going too fast to reach it by swimming." said Ruby.

Littlefoot looked around for something that could help them save the crown princess. Finally, he managed to find what he was looking for.

"I have an idea. We'll use that log to get to her." said Littlefoot pointing to a log that fell during the storm that was long enough to reach Elena and thick enough for Littlefoot to cross over. "I'll go save her while you hold it."

"If there's nothing else." said Chomper agreeing to his friend's idea.

Working together, they managed to push the log until it ended up forming a bridge between them and the rocks. While the others held it as best as they could, Littlefoot advanced quickly and carefully over the log until he reached Elena's.

Stretching his neck, he grabbed her dress with his mouth and with all his might, managed to pull her on top of him.

"Hurry up, Littlefoot. We won't hold on much longer." said Cera.

Quickly and carefully, Littlefoot went, with Elena in tow, to land and when they saw that the rescue mission was complete, the rest of the gang let go of the log, which ended up falling into the river and being swept away by the current just before the log Elena was on broke in two and sank.

"Phew. That close." said Petrie.

As the others looked out at the river, thinking about what might have happened, Littlefoot turned his head to look at the unconscious person on his back. For some reason, he felt something special about her, though he didn't know what that reason was. The only thing that mattered at that moment was that she was safe now.

The last thing Elena remembered was seeing Skylar try to catch herself before she felt herself falling into the water. The blow was so hard that she ended up losing consciousness and was carried away by the current.

Now that she was regaining consciousness, she could feel the dry ground as well as the sunlight hitting her eyelids. Not to mention that he was hearing voices all around him.

"Look. She's waking up." said a very childlike female voice.

"Maybe we should hide. We don't know anything about her." said another female voice.

"But we just saved her. It wouldn't be good to hide when we just saved her." said another female voice.

"Shh. Hush." said another childish male voice.

Elena let out a groan as she sat up and put her hand on her head.

"Ugh. My head." said Elena moaning a little.

When she finally opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the gang looking at her curiously.

A look of confusion formed on her face before she looked around, as if looking for someone.

"How odd. I thought I heard someone talking." said Elena very confused.

"Right. It was us." said Chomper, causing the crown princess to go into shock.

"You... You spoke." said Elena in shock.

"Well, you talk too." said Petrie.

It was then that Elena glanced at the gang with great curiosity.

"What are these creatures? I never heard of anything like them. And how come they can talk? Are they magical creatures like the jaquins?" thought Elena having many questions about them. She shook her head to push those questions aside, as there were more important things at the moment. "Hey, do you know how I got here?"

"We found you on a log in a river and saved you before the current swept you away." said Littlefoot.

"Wait, it was you who saved me?" asked Elena in surprise, as she wasn't expecting that.

"Well, it was Littlefoot who saved you. He came up with the idea we used for him to save you." said Ruby.

Elena turned her surprised look to the longneck.

"Did you really?" asked Elena before a smile formed on her face. "In that case, thanks for saving me."

"You're welcome." said Littlefoot with a smile.

"And who are you? Or rather. What are you?" asked Cera.

"You don't know what I am?" asked Elena with surprise and confusion as she pointed to herself.

"The truth is, this is the first time we've seen a creature like you. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.

"Have they never seen a human before? Where did these creatures come from?" asked Elena in her mind before focusing on the gang's question. "I am Elena, crown princess of Avalor. And... I'm a human."

"Princess? Avalor? What that?" asked Petrie.

"Well, Avalor is where I come from and a princess is like someone who, one day, will lead the whole kingdom." explained Elena.

"Ah, I see. It's like the leader of a pack, right?" asked Chomper.

"Almost. I'm not old enough yet, so several people and I formed a committee to make the decisions until the time is right." said Elena before focusing on another topic. "So... who are you?" asked Elena wanting to know more about her rescuers.

"I'm Littlefoot." said Littlefoot.

"I'm Cera." said Cera.

"And I'm Ducky and this here is Spike." said Ducky as his brother nodded by way of greeting. "Even though he doesn't talk he's saying 'hello' to you."

"Me Petrie." said Petrie.

"I'm Chomper and this is Ruby." said Chomper.

"Hi, nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, hi." said Ruby.

"Likewise. By the way, what kind of creatures are you?" asked Elena.

"We are dinosaurs." said Littlefoot.

"Dinosaurs? I've never heard of creatures by that name. Where did you say you come from?" asked Elena.

"From the Great Valley." said Ducky.

"That's a little weird. I've never heard of a place called that." said Elena feeling increasingly confused.

"The same for us. We never saw or heard of humans from that place you come from called Avalor." said Cera.

Elena began to feel that there was something strange rolling around here, something related to them, but she couldn't exactly what it was. She needed more information.

"By any chance, how did you get here?" asked Elena.

"We were playing in the caves of the Great Valley when an earthshake took us to a cave where there was a strange object." said Littlefoot telling what happened before they arrived.

"A strange object?" asked Elena arching an eyebrow.

"It looked like a tree trunk, but it was so oddly shaped that it looked like a bunch of creatures forming a tower. When we touched that strange thing, a flash happened that transported us here." said Ruby.

"Wait, a log that looked like a bunch of creatures forming a tower? That sounds like a totem." thought Elena.

It was then that understanding began to catch up. A group of unknown creatures coming from an unknown place found a magical object that took them to another unknown place inhabited by creatures unknown to them. There was only one possible explanation for that and the key word was...

"Guys, I think that thing you found took you to another world." said Elena.

"What?" asked the gang in confusion.

"That's ridiculous. What makes you say that?" asked Cera.

"First point, you never heard of humans and that they are almost everywhere; and second point, I never heard anything about dinosaurs or that place you came from called the Great Valley." said Elena highlighting the points of her theory.

The gang was shocked when they understood that what she was saying was true. They may not have seen everything that was in the Mysterious Beyond, but if there had been a place called Avalor full of creatures called humans, surely they would have heard it from the migrating herds.

"Oh, this can't happening." said Petrie.

"Now how are we going to get home?" asked Cera.

"Wait, you don't know how to get back?" asked Elena.

"No, we don't." said Littlefoot lowering his head in sadness at the thought that he might not see his grandparents again.

The same was true for the other members who thought of their families they might never see again.

Elena began to feel bad for them. They were a group of children who had been taken from their homes and families in a magical and mysterious way. She couldn't leave them like that. Not after they saved her. If only there was a way to help them.

It was then that a smile formed on her face after thinking that last thought.

"Hey, why don't you come with me?" asked Elena getting the gang's attention.

"What do you mean?" asked Chomper.

"Well, I can't leave you alone in a place you know nothing about. So you'd be safer in the palace. Besides, a friend of mine is an expert in magic. I'm sure he can find a way to get you to your world." said Elena.

"Would you really do that for us?" asked Littlefoot.

"Consider it my way of thanking you for saving me." said Elena.

Instantly, Spike lunged at her and began licking her face, causing her to laugh.

"Stop. Stop. You're tickling me." said Elena as she laughed.

"That's Spike' way of thanking you. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.

Elena pushed the spiketail away and stood up as she wiped the spittle off her face, but as soon as she touched her waist, a look of horror formed on her face as she noticed something was missing.

"My scepter! Where's my scepter?!" exclaimed Elena in horror looking around her looking for it.

"Oh, you mean that thing?" asked Ruby pointing to the side where the scepter was. "When we brought you here, we set it aside so it wouldn't bother you while you were still asleep, so we set it aside while you were still asleep."

Elena wasted no time in retrieving her magic scepter.

"Oh, thank god." said Elena relieved that she didn't lose the source of her power and the only thing that can fight against Shuriki's scepter of night.

"Why is that thing so important? It looks like a simple stick with a glowing stone on it to me." said Cera.

"It's much more than that. You see. This is actually the scepter of light, a magical object." said Elena explaining the importance of her scepter and surprising the gang in the process.

"Really?" asked Petrie in amazement.

"It is. And only people skilled in magic can use it." said Elena.

"So, you're an expert in magic too?" asked Chomper.

"Well, not exactly. Let's just say that certain events made a pinch of magic get inside me and thanks to that I can use the spells of the scepter." said Elena not wanting, at that moment, to go into details about her many years locked in a magic amulet.

"What kind of spells?" asked Ruby.

"Mainly, of light. Like for example this one. Glow!" shouted Elena raising the scepter very high before the gem emitted a glow so strong that it forced the gang to close their eyes. "It also allows me to do this. Vanish!" shouted Elena as she pointed the scepter at herself and disappeared shortly after.

Needless to say, the gang was in shock at that.

"Elena? Elena, where are you?" shouted Littlefoot worried about his new friend.

"I'm here." said Elena, much to the gang's surprise and confusion, for although they could hear her, she was nowhere to be seen.

"Where? Me not see you anywhere." said Petrie looking around.

"Hehe. Relax, that spell I cast was an invisibility one. It makes it so no one can see whatever I point the scepter at, which, in this case, is me." said Elena before the spell's effect wore off, causing Elena to reappear where she was at first, with a hand on her hip. "Well? Impressive, wasn't it?"

"That was amazing! Yep, yep, yep!" exclaimed Ducky happily.

"I've never seen anything like it, though I've never seen anything like it." said Ruby.

"You're awesome, Elena." said Littlefoot.

Elena couldn't help but blush at the gang's praise.

"Hehe. Thank you. Well, then, we'd better get going. Everyone must be worried about me." said Elena thinking that surely everyone was worried after her incident with the storm earlier.

With all said and done, the crown princess and the gang set off to go to the kingdom of Avalor.
