After a while walking through the jungle, the group managed to reach a path that would lead them to Elena's kingdom. The journey was uneventful, until, suddenly, they heard animal footsteps running.
"Huh? What's that noise?" asked Littlefoot.
Elena knew from the start that that sound was the sound of horses galloping rapidly toward where they were. She squinted to focus her gaze on the road ahead and just as she had imagined, it was horses coming toward them, but what caught her attention were the people on the horses.
"They're my friends!" exclaimed Elena excitedly before waving her hand high in the air to get their attention. "Guys! I'm here!"
A few seconds later, the horses and their passengers stopped in front of them and one of those passengers, Naomi, jumped off the horse and ran to the crown princess whom she hugged tightly.
"Elena! I'm so glad you're okay!" said Naomi.
"When Skylar told us what happened to you, we feared the worst." said Mateo, the royal wizard.
"As soon as the storm subsided, we wasted no time in coming to find you." said Gabriel.
"And I thank you for that." said Elena undoing the hug with her best friend. "But don't worry. I'm fine. Thanks to them."
"Them? Who?" asked Gabriel.
Elena stepped aside and gestured with her arm to the gang, who looked a little nervously at the crown princess' friends, who looked at the gang with confusion.
"They were the ones who saved me from the river. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here." said Elena.
"Really?" asked Naomi looking at the gang with surprise and confusion. Then, she smiled before crouching down to be on their level. "Well, thank you for saving my friend, little ones." said Naomi.
"Little ones? Hey, just so you know I'm old enough." said Cera offended by the comment.
"Although you little." said Petrie.
Naomi was so startled by it that she ended up falling on her butt while the two boys gaped at it. Elena couldn't help but giggle a little at her friends' reaction.
"Y-You can talk?" asked Naomi with surprise.
"Well, we move our lips and words come out of the lips we move." said Ruby.
"Although some prefer not to say anything." said Ducky as Spike nodded in agreement.
"Elena, where did these creatures come from?" asked Gabriel curiously.
"It's a long story. Let me introduce you to Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, Chomper and Ruby." said Elena introducing each member of the gang. "Guys, these are my friends. My best friend and committee member, Naomi."
"Uh... Hi." said Naomi getting up and overcoming the surprise from before.
"Mateo, the royal wizard of Avalor." said Elena.
"A pleasure." said Mateo.
"Wait, are you the magic expert Elena told us about?" asked Chomper.
"Yes, that's me." said Mateo a little surprised that the crown princess was telling them about him.
"And this is Gabriel, member of the Royal Guard of Avalor." said Elena.
"Hello." said Gabriel.
"Royal Guard? What is that?" asked Littlefoot.
"It's a group in charge of the security of Avalor and the people of the kingdom." explained Elena before focusing on her human friends. "I'll give you the rest of the details on our way back."
"I think that's a good idea. Your family is very worried about you." said Mateo.
Elena got on Naomi's horse and going at a pace where the gang could easily follow them, the group headed towards Avalor.
Along the way, Elena was telling her friends what the gang discovered.
"Are you sure about that? I mean, I know we've seen a lot of strange things, but that thing about a magic totem that took them from their world to ours sounds a little weird." said Naomi.
"Completely and the worst part is that they don't know how to get back to their world." said Elena feeling bad for the gang.
"Well, don't worry, as soon as we get to the palace, I will investigate about that totem to see if I can find any solution." said Mateo.
"Thank you, Mateo." said Elena.
"They deserve it. After all, they were the ones who saved you, weren't they?" asked Gabriel.
"Of course. It's the least I can do for them after what they did for me." said Elena as she threw the gang a smile which they returned.
"Kids, I welcome you to Avalor." said Elena when they stopped in front of the entrance to the kingdom.
Fortunately, the thing about Elena disappearing during the storm was a secret to everyone in the kingdom, as they didn't want to panic until they had news, so as they passed through the kingdom, people acted as if nothing happened.
Of course, there were some people who glanced at the gang out of curiosity, but they ignored it, as it wasn't the strangest thing that had happened in that kingdom.
Meanwhile, the gang couldn't help but look at each side of the kingdom in awe and wonder, for they had never seen anything like it. Even Spike licked his lips as he smelled the food they were selling around.
Finally, after a while of walking, they arrived at the royal palace. It didn't take Gabriel long to alert the guards that the princess had been found, so they could call off the search patrols, as well as alert the jaquins and the rest of the royal family.
They got off the horses and the human group and gang proceeded to enter the palace.
Before Elena could say anything else...
"Elena!" they all turned their gaze to the front steps to see the crown princess' younger sister running up to her sister to give her a hug. "You're okay! I was so worried!" exclaimed Isabel with relief and a bit of sadness.
"You don't have to worry anymore. I'm here and I'm fine." said Elena bending down to return her sister's hug.
"Elena!" then they glanced over to see the crown princess's grandparents arrive in the living room.
"You had us so worried." Luisa said hugging her granddaughter.
"I knew a simple storm wouldn't finish you off, young lady." said Francisco.
"Oh, come on. Don't lie. You were as nervous as I was." said Luisa.
"Maybe, but I still knew." said Francisco crossing his arms.
"Of course." began Elena's cousin, Chancellor Esteban, coming into the room. "Only you would think of going for a walk during a storm."
"In my defense, the storm caught me by surprise. Had I known I wouldn't have gone out." said Elena.
"What exactly happened?" asked Luisa curiously.
"Well, I was with Skylar flying over the area when the storm caught us by surprise. We tried to return to Avalor, but the wind was too strong and I ended up falling into a river before I was knocked unconscious." recounted Elena before a smile formed on her face. "Fortunately, they found me and saved me."
"Who?" asked Esteban.
"They." said Elena introducing the gang to the rest of her family.
Needless to say, they were a little confused and surprised by this.
"They saved you?" asked Isabel approaching the gang and leaning down to Ducky, who was on top of Spike. "Aw, they're so adorable."
"Hihi. Thank you. You're kind of cute too." said Ducky.
"Ah." said Isabel recoiling a little in surprise. "She can talk."
"Why does everyone find it weird that we talk?" asked Cera.
"Wow, this I really didn't expect." commented Francisco.
"Would you mind explaining this to us?" said Esteban wanting answers.
"Well..." began Elena.
For the next few minutes, Elena was explaining to her family what happened after discovering that they were the ones who rescued her including, most importantly, the issue that they came from another world and she offered to stay at the palace until Mateo found a solution.
"And that's basically it." said Elena finishing the story.
"We don't want to cause trouble. We just want to go home." said Littlefoot.
"Trouble? Oh, don't talk nonsense, little one. How could I refuse these precious little things?" asked Luisa stroking Chomper's head.
"You really let us stay here?" asked Ruby.
"You saved my granddaughter. What less than letting you stay here as a thank you." said Francisco.
"I'd be happy to have more friends to hang out with." said Isabel wanting to learn more about the gang.
"What do you say, Esteban?" asked Elena.
"I guess it's okay. As long as they know how to behave." said Esteban crossing his arms.
"Thank you." said Elena.
"Yes, thank you very much." said Littlefoot happy that he and his friends were accepted by the royal family.
Suddenly, before they went to say anything else, the front doors burst open and everyone turned around to see Skylar, Luna and Migs entering the palace.
"Okay. Where is she? Where?" asked Skylar frantically looking around.
"Hey, Skylar. Look out front." said Luna grabbing her friend's head and turning it so he could see the crown princess.
"Elena!" yelled Skylar lunging towards the crown princess to pet her. "Thank goodness you're safe. I wanted to help you, but the storm was so strong and it was impossible to see because of the river current and..."
"Hey, hey. Take it easy, Skylar. It's all right. I'm all right now. It wasn't your fault." said Elena wanting to reassure her friend Jaquin.
"Yeah, I can see that." said Skylar laughing nervously from his earlier panic attack.
"Sorry to interrupt this happy reunion, but... Who are they?" asked Migs pointing to the gang.
"They are some friends I made. They were the ones who saved me from the river. Kids, these are more of my friends. Skylar, Luna and Migs." said Elena.
"Really? Well, in that case, thanks for saving the princess." said Skylar.
"You're welcome." said Littlefoot.
"I don't want to sound bad, but what creatures are you? I've never seen anything like you." said Chomper.
"You look like sharpteeth, but with wings of flyers." commented Petrie.
"Okay, first, that thing about them being able to talk I didn't expect, and second, we are jaquins hailing from Valestrella." said Migs.
"Valestrella?" asked Ruby.
"It's a mystical world where jaquins and other magical creatures live." said Migs.
"But even though it's our home, some of us come here with the duty to protect the kingdom of Avalor from any threat." said Luna.
"Wow, you are very impressive. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.
"Of course we are. No doubt about it." said Skylar with a proud, smug smile, eliciting a small chuckle from some of those present.
"Sounds like you have some good friends." said Littlefoot to the crown princess.
"I don't doubt it." Elena said winking at him.
Suddenly, there was the sound of doors opening and someone gasping for air. Everyone present turned to the side to see Armando leaning on his knees in a sign that he had been running for a long time.
"Princess! Oh, you don't know how glad I am that you're back safe and...!" began Armando before realizing the presence of the gang. "Uh... What did I miss?"
Esteban patted his head, feeling as if things were going to get crazier with the gang present.
