Rollins looks across the table at Barba
"I really need your help here Barba"
Barba looked at Rollins
"Does Liv know your here meeting with me"
Rollins looked at Barba
"No but i will talk to her before the two of you cross paths"
Barba had sadish look on his face
"Liv and I haven't spoken sense the whole Richard Wheatley case"
Rollins smirked slightly
"How are u doing with all that"
Rollins asked
"Honestly i feel Guilty i have never felt guilty about doing my job before but now i just hate what it has done to Liv and I"
Barba said
"Have you told Liv this"
Barba shook his head
"I must have tried dozens of times she wouldn't take my calls no matter what i tried"
Rollins looked at Barba
"Yep well now she won't have a choice will she this will be your chance to say what you need to to her"
Barba looked at Rollins
"I hope so"
Barba said
The elevator opened and Barba entered the room
"Rafael "
Liv said as Barba entered the room
"Liv"
Barba replied
"Rollins told me she called you in to help out on this case"
Barba looked at the squad
"Well good now that we got that out of the way how about you all fill me in on what we got."
The team filled Barba in on the case. Then after breafing Barba Liv headed into her office and Barba followed
"What do you want Rafael "
Barba looked at Liv
"To talk and i don't mean about this Case"
Liv shook here head
"I know exactly what you mean Rafael"
Barba looked at Liv
"What exactly do you want from me Liv do you want me to apologize for taking the case i mean really tell me Liv tell me how i make this right"
Liv shook her head
" you just don't get it do you Rafael"
Rafael looked at Liv
"You know what Liv no I don't get it so why don't you help me get it"
Liv shook her head again
"Your intentions were pure i know that. Your intentions are always pure. You always try to do what you think is right Emphasis on what you think is is right i know that thats nothing new to me."
Liv drew a deep breath and continued
"You knew this was personal to me Barba. i asked you not to take this case and you took it anyway"
Barba looked at Liv
"That still doesn't tell me much Liv you say I betrayed you but so did Stabler right he left he disappeared and you didn't here from him for 10 plus years he didn't call you never heard from him during this time then just like that he is back i know he suffered a lose Liv i get that but he lied to you he testedyour ability to trust him how is what i did so much worse then what he has done Liv"
Barba paused Liv shook her head again Barba continued speaking
" why Live why are you so much more angry with me then you are or were with Stabler?"
Frustrated Live yells her response back at Barba without thinking
"Because i am not in love with Stabler"
Realizing what she had just said Liv drew a deap breath Barba had that look on his face soft not angry calm but before he or Liv could say anything else there was a knock on her office door
"Yeah come in"
Liv said
" Rollins whats up"
Rollins looked at them fully aware she was completely interrupting something
"Umm we need both you and Barba out in the squad room"
Rollins said
"Ok"
Liv said she and Barba looked at each other then without another word they both headed out into the squad room!
The investigation went on.
The team got together to go over the case and after getting everyone up to speed on the investigation Barba looked at the team
"So what ur telling me is we still don't have a case"
"What about the Video Tape"
Rollins asked
"Defense got it thrown out said it was illegally obtained evidence judge threw it out which doesn't surprise me sense the warrant was for the suspects apartment not the Neighbor and the Neighbor did not willingly hand over that video. Had i known this i never would have entered it into evidence in the first place."
Fin looked at Barba
" hold on I don't understand Liv said we didn't have to worry about it when i questioned the way in witch we obtained this footage she said everything was done buy the book."
Fin said Barba looked at Fin.
"Well then i guess i am not the only one Liv Lied to here"
Barba said angrily
"That video was a smoking gun our biggest weapon for bringing this Creep down"
Fin said
"Yep so find me another smoking gun another weapon wittinesses other victims. Find me people willing to testify and if you can't then convince them and please People do it buy the book this time."
Without another word Barba left everyone looked at Liv.
"Well that sucks"
Rollins said
"Yep well I guess thats on you isn't it Rollins you know better then to take evidence without a warrant for that evidence"
Rollins looked at Liv
"Common Liv you know as well as i do if we hadn't taken that video then it would have been Disposed of by the time we got a warrant for it"
Liv shook her head
"Doesn't matter Rollins we got lucky all the judge did was through the evidence out"
Rollins looked at Liv
"Well your not so Innocent yourself Liv Lieing to Fin and Barba about who it was obtained"
Liv gave rollins a look but said nothing
"common Liv i made a mistake i know that but we can bounce back"
Rollins said looking at Liv
If Barba looses this Case because we fail to get him what he needs..."
Live said
"He won't Liv we will figure it out."
Liv looked at Rollins
"You better hope not we better hope not because if he does loose this case you and i are the ones who get to have that conversation with Barba about why and believe me knowone wants that"
"Ok fine thats fair but it won't come down to that. This is Barba we are talking about here he can figure out a way to bounce back from this he always does"
Liv looked at the team
"Not without us he can't so common guys. Fin i want you to to go talk to the victim again get everything you can and don't leave until you have convinced her to testify. I want you guys to pull phone records figure out everyone both the victim and our suspect have been in contact with over the past 6 months. look for anything suspicious Multiple calls to the same number questionable texts everything. make some Calls dig deep. Also dig deep into the suspects past i wanna know everything down to what he had for Breakfast this morning let go."
With that not another word was said as everyone left the room to go do there jobs. The team worked all day and all night straight into the next day finding information talking to people gathering more evidence and locating 6 other victims all of which willing to testify!
The next day after the hearing Rollins ran into Barba in the hall outside the court room.
"Howed it go"
Rollins asked Barba
"Jury's deliberating we will know soon enough but i have a good feeling about this one"
Rollins looked at Barba
"Good so you were able to recover from the loss of the video"
Barba looked at Rollins
"It appears so yes"
Rollins drew a breath
"Look Barba don't be too upset with Liv ok you and she have enough going on right now you don't need this too. Look Barba i am the one who made the Decision to take that video evidence without a warrant not Liv ok it wasn't Livs Call she didn't even know when she found out she was furious. She only lied to protect me."
Barba looked at Rollins
"I was not aware of any of this I didn't realize you were the one that took that video i thought it was a much less experienced detective or atleast thats what i have been trying to tell myself anyway"
Baba said
"I know and i thought that you should know the truth about what happened"
Barba looked at Rollins
"Well thatnks Rollins I appreciate that. What you did was stupid and very costly to my Case Rollins but looky for you i think i was able to make a solid recovery thanks to you and the rest of the team"
Rollins looked at Barba
" look Barba what i did never should have happened i made a mistake and i am sorry for how that mistake hurt your case"
Barba looked at Rollins
"Your right you did it shouldn't of and it can never happen again"
Rollins looked at Barba
"I know i just hope you can forgive me"
Barba smirked if anyone new what it felt like to want forgiveness it was him
"Of course i forgive you Rollins just make sure it never happens again"
Rollins smiled
"Thanks Barba"
Rollins said. Barba gave her a smile and then walked past her off to do his next thing
"Would you care for a drink"
Liv asked pulling out a bottle and a couple glasses from her desk drawer as she A Barba sat in her office.
"Always"
Barba said with a smile as Liv poured the drinks and handed him a glass
"The Case was a success our defendant got 25 to life thanks to you and your detectives"
Live smirked slightly
"Are you gunna drink that?"
Liv asked
"I don't know Liv is this your way of apology or did you spike this drink."
Barba Joked Charmingly
"Baba"
Barba Cut Liv off
"No Liv don't say it ok the truth is i love you i always have loved you and when Stabler showed up it complicated things. You and stabler were always so close i just..."
Liv smiled
"You were jealous"
"Yes i guess i was Liv jealous of you and Stabler past and the closs relationship you to share"
"Well theres nothing there Barba there used to be but there isn't now not anymore whatever Stabler and i had or didn't have in the past is just that the past"
Liv said Barba smiled
"Look i did something you didn't like and you did something i didn't like so how about we call it even"
Liv looked at Barba with a partial smile
"You really think these to things can just Cancel each other out Rafael"
Barba smiled
"Maybe maybe not but if i really wanted to go there an argument could be made that u betrayed me today you lied to me you covered for Rollins and you nearly destroyed my case in doing so"
Liv looked at Barba with a smile
"Leave it to you To try and find the loop wholes Barba"
Barba smiled
"It's my Job Liv"
He said
It was quite for a moment
"Look Liv on a more serious note I know what i did hurt you i know the choice i made to defend Wheatley felt like a Betrayal and i am sorry Liv I really am"
Liv still with a smile looked at Barba
"First of all lets never say that name ever again ok"
Barba smiled
"Ok"
Barba squeezed in as Liv continued
"secondly I'm sorry to Rafael"
It was quite for a moment know one said anything Then Barba and Liv Kissed as Rollins entered Livs office
"Well it's about time"
Rollins said
"Rollins ever here of knocking"
Rollins smiled
"Ever here of locking the door"
Rollins said
"So i am guessing this means you to are good now right you've worked everything out and things can go on as usual around here now"
Liv smiled
"Yes we have but as usual i am not so sure about"
Liv said as Liv and Barba smiled at each other this was the beginning of a much anticipated Relationship a relationship that would last a life time for Rafael Barba and Olivia Benson a relationship much greater and much more Intimate then a friendship a relationship that would down the line lead to a wedding and a very close happy loving family.
