Part 1- Curse you Do Little!

————————————————————————

A boat. It was an empty boat. It was split down the middle, most of the once intact parts were scattered among the sand. Among those parts was a man. He sat on top of a rock. His hands clenched into tight fists. This man had made a very crucial mistake. He broke the boat. Now he was on an island. That may or may not be real. A hefty Sigh escaped his lips. This man was named Adrian. And he of course made quite a mistake.

How about we take things back to the beginning for a moment? Adrian had heard wonderful legends and rumors of this island. That it held a secret tree that bore fruits of unimaginable power. So he took a pack. A crate. A musket, a small boat. He journeyed for days, the map he had gotten must have been wrong! (Mind you it was signed by Do Little himself, who had apparently already made contact with such an island) Apparently, he wasn't wrong. Almost spot on actually. But the map didn't dare mention how rough the water was. Or how there are multiple giant rock formations covering the island's shore. Anyways, let's take us to the present, yes?

Ah yes, Adrian was truly more than concerned. How could he get back? A rather intrusive thought filled his mind. He would get the fruit. And all of his problems would simply….Fade away. Yes. Fade away. A chuckle escaped the man's lips, before suddenly he would rise from his hardy seat. And he'd proceed to grab his things, including the musket of course. Then he started to walk. Oh yes, he did certainly walk. I mean, I would cover the journey. But far too many encounters with cobras, and large felines would just…Well what am I talking about? There were no snakes. Or really any other animals for that matter. His journey was filled with the crunching of sand and rock, but then he saw it. The mountain. The crag, the hilltop. Whatever you would like to call it. It didn't take him too long to start climbing. Well not really climbing, the journey was mostly a horrible "path" (which was really just a game trail used by mountain goats from the far past) Besides of course a chunk of stone would giveaway and he would almost fall to a horrible death. But of course he recovered. While the man walked he examined the map. It was a rather basic map, with a legend at the bottom left- oh my. He had noticed something.

"Lord…" He would mutter as he stared at it. A crude symbol of what appeared to be a large snake-like creature with wings was dotted on the legend. That same symbol was carved right over the smudge of the Mountain he was on. Adrian cursed himself, was he so childish that he believed that some monster could live in this mountain? If anything it was probably some sort of bear. Which he would be Able to dispatch with his Musket quite easily. Yes…Of course. He would put the map away and continue his journey. It didn't occur to him that the given path might….Well disappear. After all, the path continued to grow smaller and smaller and smaller. Till it was just barely a foot wide. At that point his whole frame was pressed against the mountains wide as he awkwardly shuffled along. Why couldn't he have just taken the left route? Maybe it was better? Or perhaps much harder…Oh well. The end was growing closer. He could feel it. After another few minutes of the perilous path. Adrian saw it. In the distance the path seemed to grow wider. A smirk crossed the man's lips. So very close…So…Very close…Just a few feet. The path gave away. He fell. His bag. It fell with him, along with his musket. He reached forward with his hand. Adrian grabbed nothing but air.

An audible groan escaped the man's mouth, he appeared to have landed on something hard. Yet it cushioned his fall quite well. What did he land on? Oh….Oh my. Did he really? I must say….That's rather embarrassing. Oh I'm getting off track, he apparently landed on a Body of corpses. Well half decayed ones anyways. It didn't take him too long to notice. And it didn't take too long for him to let out a somewhat manly scream. He quickly rolled off the pile of flesh and bones, and found himself wondering. Where was all his gear? It wasn't there to put it simply. And also of course where was he? A rather dark..And damp cave floor. A light shone from above, that appeared to be where he fell from. A few muddled curse words flew out of his mouth before he got up, nothing was broken. Just a rather alarming amount of soreness filled his lower back. He'd be fine. Now he just needed to figure out, how the hell was he going to make it out of this cave? Well he needed to find an exit of course. Luckily enough, the cave seemed to dip down. So with a heavy step he followed the dip downwards. At multiple points he had tempted himself to hum, maybe a few sea shanties? But it didn't matter much now what he hummed. He was so very close. He could smell it.

He certainly did smell something. The even stronger scent of decay. Adrian almost gagged on the spot, it was such a wretched smell. But it didn't stop him from continuing on. After a handful of minutes he found the source of the smell. More bodies. Even less decayed as the ones before. In fact it looked as if chunks had been taken out of them- he tried to ignore that thought. It was just a bear. It couldn't have been anything else. The cave had started to open up more. Much more. It appeared to be about 50 or so of his pathetically small boats wide. (Give or take 500 or so feet) The ceiling was about four times larger than he was. But he couldn't be sure. And…There was so much light. The ceiling had multiple holes in it, so light could easily filter through. And the rush of water had caught his attention, about 50 or so feet in front of him. (Pass the weirdly shaped rock Pilar that was holding the ceiling up) Was a flow of water. A downpour, maybe even considered a micro flood of water seemed to be blocking another entrance. Or maybe an exit. Or if his luck was truly stellar, it was where the tree was! A sort of giddy feeling rushed to Adrian's head, and he broke into a sprint. That was until the moving of rocks. He'd stop dead in his tracks. Shifting rocks…Rocks don't shift. They don't move without interference. He quickly turned to where the sound originated from. The rock pillar. It was…Much more normal now. Far to normal from what it had been. So when the sudden feeling of his feet no longer being his was quite odd. By that I mean something had caused him to fall right off his own feet. Once he landed on his back Adrian would wildly look around………There it was. The so-called bear. Just as he was even processing what was real and fiction. It spoke.

"Dear traveler. How dare you come into my domain."
