I run towards the house, trying to find Reid. I went to the basement. That's where he said she was. I start to hear Rebecca.

"HELP ME PLEASE, I'm in here. THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE"

"Rebecca, I'm here to help. We need to be quick" Of course, you need to be quick the house is crashing down.

"I DON'T HAVE THE KEY" Rebecca yells with desperation.

"Reid, tell me you got the key with you. Remember what he said. The youngest holds the key" I told Reid

Reid is freeing Rebecca. She was tied up to the bedpost. He looks at me determined. I'm too. I need to get them out of here. When Reid frees her. There's an explosion. We run towards the stairs, and everything is falling apart. Reid and Rebecca start to cough. I support their bodies with all the strength I have. We are almost there.

At the door, is Morgan. He helps Rebecca as I help Reid. He is not going anywhere for a month. This kid almost gave me a heart attack. When we are safe. I hug him. Most of the time I don't hug people. I'm not good with that kind of affection, but I need to feel Reid. I need to know he is safe. Safe with me at least. After a few minutes of holding him. We go towards the paramedics.

"I'm fine, I don't need them to check me," Reid tells me. I stop, and I look into his eyes. With the most serious face, I can gather.

"If I was in your position, I would be more careful. You are in enough trouble as it is Reid" He looks at me as if I was on drugs. "Don't start a scene, Reid, I have our evening planned, if you don't want privacy while I deal with you, I can help you with that" help means a spanking, and he knows it so he shuts it.

"Hotch, can't you see that I'm fine" I roll my eyes at him. One of the things that always surprises me from my boys is that they don't know when to shut up when they get hurt. I think that Dave can say that about me too, but that's not a topic for today.

"You are a doctor, but yet don't have a medical degree. Shut it, kid. Let them do their job" I tell him in my no-nonsense tone.

The paramedics check him over, they tell him that he needs rest and I'm going to make sure of that. We should take a break, maybe go to Dave's cabin for a week or something. The break is going to be after we deal with his decisions, and his grounding is over.

This weekend Haley took Jack to her sister's house so I'm going to make him move to my home. Morgan and Reid have a shared room at my place. We have a lot to talk about. I see Morgan next to Rebecca, she is malnourished, but she is fine. A good diet and some rest. That's all she needs. I can't believe that her foster parents thought she ran away and gave up on her so easily. I could never do that.

She is going to be able to live her life however she wants to. She must have planned before her father kidnapped her. She has at her disposal, the Fisher King's inheritance. She may not want it, but it's going to help. We are going to help her relocate and facilitate her with the mental help she is going to need. I know a therapist, that specializes in this kind of stuff.

I look into Morgan's demeanor, he is pissed. I know I am too, but need to stay calm. I have an idea what is on his mind.

"Morgan, we should go home. You're welcome to join us" Reid looks at me surprised because he knows the trouble he is in and I know from experience that what we are going to do is not going to be comfortable, and with an audience is worse. I don't plan to spank him tonight. I need him to rest, but he doesn't know that. I'll let him suffer a little bit tho.

"Thank you, Hotch, but I pass" Relief passes into Reid's face. I think that Morgan wants to give us privacy, he knows what Reid is going to get. He has been in Reid's position many times. Reid walks towards the SUV.

"I'll deal with our troublemaker tomorrow, so don't feel like a burden. We need to be together after this" He looks at me with wide eyes. We have talked about this many times, but tonight he is not the one in trouble.

"I know that I'm not a burden Hotch, but the kid did it this time. If I'm near him, I'm going to wreck his neck. I need to be alone right now. I will get some Mcdonald's on my way home, and binge-watch some DVDs with Garcia. I haven't watched Shrek 2 in a while. I need to get to my happy place right now. I can't stop thinking about how Reid put himself in danger, TWICE"

For someone that loves to take care of his body, Morgan loves to eat junk food as a coping mechanism. He also loves to watch "kid movies", but when he needs both at the same time. I know how he feels, we love Reid, and he did put himself in danger twice. He is the youngest brother he never had, and for me, I think we share a similar bond to what I have with Dave. I feel responsible for both of them.

"Okay, call me when you both are home safe, for my sanity, please" He is going to call me, of that I'm sure. I think he remembers the last time he didn't. I didn't spank him per se, but I did "ground" him.

"Yes, Dad," He says while laughing. He likes to tease me. I'm only 8 years his senior, but that entitlement I don't take for granted. He knows I mean business.

"Morgan, check-in during the weekend, If you want you can join us for dinner or something, you know you are always welcome"

"Brunch on Sunday sounds great. I'll tell Rossi to join us. He wants to meet Reid, Why haven't you introduced the two?"

"There hasn't been time. And you know how Dave is. He can be overwhelming"

"You just don't want us to have another ally to bother you"

"You are never a bother Derek. I mean that, do you need a reminder?" I remind him, we have had problems with the topic. Derek sometimes feels like he doesn't deserve to be part of the family we have created.

"Jeez, I'm only joking, Dad"

"You better be. Invite Dave, I'm going to call him after Reid is in bed"

As if he was listening to our conversation, Reid gets out of the SUV and calls for me.

"Hotch, are we going home or what?" He seems tired. I try to hide the smirk on my face. Home, he feels at home with me.

"Duty Calls, Morgan, see you soon"

As I got into the SUV, Reid was fast asleep. He must be tired. That's something that, Reid needs to work with. He sometimes doesn't sleep for days. His brain doesn't take a break, he is always remembering and trying to solve things at the same time. I decide to let him be. It gives me time to think about how to deal with him.

The ride home is longer than I thought it would be. Reid is awake now, we passed an accident so we got stuck in traffic for an hour. Reid is looking at me. I think he is trying to decipher what I'm going to do with him. We don't talk on the ride. Morgan decided to go to Garcia's place. They're going to have a sleepover, they may invite JJ. I don't know the details, I just hope they don't turn their sleepover into a party. It has happened before. There is nothing I can do about it. They are in their free time after all, but I think that Morgan needs his rest too.

Garcia and Derek seem closer than before. I see a weird connection between them. After Reid, he is overprotective of Garcia and I think that he fancies her. I don't know if Penelope returns his feelings, but I hope that she does, they make a great couple and Garcia is a great person. Maybe I'm overthinking their relationship, maybe is similar to what Reid and Morgan have, but there is a feeling. She makes everyone their best self. Sometimes I think that she is the one that keeps us together.

When we get home, Reid doesn't want to get out of the SUV, so I get out and go to his side. I open the door.

"Reid, let's go" He looks at me.

"I don't know, If I want to leave the safety of this SUV Hotch" I want to laugh at his response but I know that I shouldn't

"Reid it is late, you need to rest" Reid looks at me with wide eyes now. He knows what I mean, or at least I think he does. He knows that I want him rested before I deal with him. We both need to sleep and think about what happened.

He gets out of the SUV, We start to walk towards the front porch, I open the door and led him inside. I give him a SMACK on his butt. He looks at me like I destroyed his favorite book.

"Hotch!" He rubs his backside.

"Reid, that's only a preview of what is going to happen tomorrow, I'm not going to spank you today, I need you to go upstairs, take a shower and get into bed. There are fresh clothes and towels in the closet, you know where. If you want, you can read something from your bookcase, before I go upstairs and give you a snack before bed. I need you rested"

He goes upstairs, and I go to the kitchen, to prepare the snack before bed. I make peanut and jelly sandwiches for both of us. There is no need to make a full meal, tomorrow we are going to have the time to eat. I go upstairs after thirty minutes. Reid is on his bed reading, I move the table I have for this purpose and put the two plates.

"Thank you"

"You're welcome, kid"

"Hotch?" He asks with his "I've never broken a vase" face

"Yeah?"

"How mad are you"

"Pretty mad, If I'm honest, but I'm glad that you're okay. You gave us a scare"

"I know, I'm sorry. I needed to save her"

"I know Reid, but we are going to talk about this at length tomorrow"

We ate in silence.

"It's time to rest, I'm going to get a shower, and go to bed myself"

"Goodnight, Hotch"

"Goodnight, Reid," I tell him while I kiss the crown of his head.

I go to my room, and I get ready to bed. I start my calls for the night

"Hey honey"

"How is your sister, Haley?"

"She is glad that I came to visit"

"How was your day?, you sound tired" She knows me too well.

"It was a hard case. Reid put his life in danger again" I tell her, There are no secrets in our relationship. Sometimes she doesn't understand the dynamics of my team/family but she is always supportive

"Oh Honey, I don't know what he did, but be easy on him, please. How are you?"

"I'm fine"

"Aaron, you don't sound fine. Have you called Dave?" As I said, she does know me too well. She knows that Dave and I share a special bond.

"I'm going to call him after this call, babe"

"Well, then it's time for me to hang up"

"You don't have to do that, you could tell me about your day with your sister"

"That's not what you need right now Aaron, I know that Dave is going to be a better help than I am, He understands this better. By the way, If you need Reid to stay in the house while I'm home that's fine. You know that I love him deeply. He should meet Dave too. I think that they are going to get along"

"That's what I am afraid of, Dave wants to meet him too. And thank you, Haley, I think that I'm going to take you in your offer, I think that I may put Reid to do some chores as his punishment or something. He did it this time"

"It's fine by me, don't worry Aaron, talk to you tomorrow honey. Love you"

"Love you too, give Jack a bedtime kiss from me please"

"Of course, I will"

"Bye"

I hang up. I would love to be with Jack right now, but Haley's sister loves to spend time with Jack, she is Jack's godmother, so they go to her house often. I used to go too, with Haley all the time, but that was before I had this position. I had more time to spend with her family. Mine is complicated. That's also another story to tell. Anyway, I call Dave.

"This is David"

"Hi David, this is Aaron"

"How are you Aaron, today is Tuesday, you usually call on Friday. What's going on?"

"Well something happened at work, and I don't know what to do"

"What happened, son? you know you can talk with me about anything"

"I know Rossi, that's why I called. It's about Reid"
