Disclaimer: I do not own Miraculous Ladybug
A different Adrien comes into Paris.
Reincarnation is a bitch. There, I said it.
Four years. For four years I've been alive without being able to move my body voluntarily.
Now, I wouldn't have minded being born out of my mother, defecating everywhere and just crying at random intervals…
No, it's not that, and it's not the fact that I was reborn at all when I've never done anything that could deserve it, though I suppose reincarnation is just a thing that happens, and that you don't need karma or anything like that.
It's the fact that when I was being carried when I was a two-year-old baby, I saw with my undeveloped eyes a landmark.
A tower, if you will. A tower that was made by the people who had won countless battles, but since they surrendered in WW2 that's all they were known for.
The people that made the Statue of Liberty that was gifted to America.
The people that lived in France. That Eiffel tower.
I'm in Paris.
I'm a Frenchman.
Fuck.
The melody goes to a stop at the same time as my fingers.
"Again," my piano teacher spoke.
Good news: I'm apparently the son and heir of a rich businessman in the fashion industry, and just like any rich kid apparently; I'd have to have private tutors for every little thing.
A fencing tutor, a math tutor, a music teacher, and even a Mandarin teacher named Fu. Thankfully I proved my parents wrong that I'd need an English teacher as well.
I'm lucky enough that the only downside to this life is that I'm speaking French at all. I don't really mind the tutors, as extra knowledge is always welcome to me, even though I don't think it'll matter in the long run.
Besides, I think I read somewhere that talent blooms the most in youth, so better learn as much as possible while I'm still young.
And the fact that I have a previous life should hopefully help me shrug off that "talented kid that can't bear expectations and breaks down" situation.
"Adri-kins~~!" a blonde blur sped up to me and I braced myself for the impact.
Chloé Bourgeois was a blonde just like myself and would grow up into a little shit of an antagonist until she turned into a fan favorite that they wanted to redeem. Since she's one of the few that really visited me frequently, I humored her and played went along with her whims of playing most of the time.
Except for the fact that the writers never seem to want to redeem her so we're stuck with someone who seems to want to be better but never quite seems to do it.
I realized this and had doubts when I figured out that my father was Gabriel Agreste and my mother was Emilie Agreste.
At first, I was in doubt. After all, while I was never in France, Agreste sounded like a real family name, right? And Adrien was a common enough name that it made sense.
And then I was introduced and put into a playdate with Chloé and realized that no, this isn't a coincidence.
I've not only been reborn a French, but I was reborn a French that was a superhero in a kids' show.
Only it wasn't a kids' show anymore, because the news I've overheard from the television spoke of a figure wearing a Peacock-themed costume running around the buildings. I live in this world now.
Oh boy, I hope I actually am judged to be trustworthy enough to be a miraculous holder, since being tempted by a supervillain to get a ridiculous name and appearance twenty-four-seven is a bit much, even for me. Especially seems it's most common in teenagers where hormones and angst are thriving.
Anyway, seeing as I have the opportunity, I took it upon myself to play with Chloé and try to sway her opinions about "commoners", and that we as "high-class people" should help them instead of looking down on them, noblesse oblige and all that.
We're not even nobles, we just happen to be very rich kids. I was pulling words out of my ass.
I don't know what kind of bullshit nat-20 roll I pulled that convinced her, but I was relieved. Although she seems to just want to do whatever I want and say, strangely enough.
I've been wondering that even if I receive a miraculous, it's not a guarantee that I'll get the Black Cat Miraculous like in canon. I know that usually the Ladybug and the Black Cat are paired together, but it's just a what-if situation, you know?
Part of the reason why I'm learning martial arts. I could train in the staff and baton all I want, but if I receive another one, then I'd have to train in that as well, even though I probably receive enough combat knowledge to fight back by miraculous magic or something, I'd still want to be ready.
And I don't think I could train in literally so many other weapons to be good enough at them but at martial arts? Your body is your weapon, so I could use that.
Besides, on the off-chance that I don't receive a miraculous, I'd still be learning martial arts, so a point to that too.
Speaking of weapons, can you actually change the weapons that the Miraculous provides? I know Ladybug has a Yo-yo, but can she change and use other weapons without having to use a Lucky Charm?
I hope it could because that would be very convenient. If not; then the way of the beating it is.
"Young master! Please come down from that tree!" one of the maids shouted up at me in worry.
I didn't recall Adrien having maids in the show, so either it's just an alternate universe, or Gabriel dismissed all of them when his wife got into a coma.
Since I can't work out without it being detrimental to my health right now, I had to wait until I'm old enough to work out. To compensate for this, I just made myself to be a very active kid who likes to play in the garden.
I'm pretty sure that our garden wasn't this big in the show if they had any at all, but our garden was very huge.
Still, I keep having thoughts about the future, as if I'm sure it's going to happen.
Marinette only became Ladybug because of Hawkmoth, and Hawkmoth only became that because of his wife.
And I don't exactly hate my new parents. I don't like them either, since they're a bit too busy doing their jobs, and also other jobs to pay attention to me. They're not abusive, they're neglectful at worst.
So at best I feel neutral about them, or apathetic.
"What do you think it means to be a hero, Adrien?" My Chinese teacher Fu asks me.
Aw shit, is this a test?
Oh boy, I have no idea how to respond to that. I'm no good at questions like these.
I could try to pull something like one of My Hero Academia speeches or something like that, but I feel like he'd see through them.
Gah! Whatever, I'll just say what's on my mind.
"I don't know, teacher," I responded.
"You don't?" he repeated.
"No, I don't, and I don't really care" I stated.
"Truly?"
"Yep. I could care less about the situation or something like that. I don't want to be a law-abiding hero who likes to speak about not breaking the rules but at the same time can't follow up on their own words and break the law themselves.
I don't want to be someone who proclaims that they want to save everyone because everyone deserves a second chance, and I keep on forgiving and they keep on going and going until there's no one left to forgive.
I don't know what kind of hero to be if I even want to be one at all. But I'll still want to save people."
Fu was silent for a long time until he asked another question.
"Why?" he asks, with a hidden intent in them.
"Why what, teach?"
"Why do you still want to save them? The way you talked earlier; it's as if you don't exactly want to be a hero, however, you still want to save them. I want to know why."
I hummed. Well, the only reason is that…
"I want to," I answered as if it was answering a simple question.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know, I just want to! Why are you asking me this anyway?" I scratched my head in false confusion and frustration.
Fu was silent for another long moment, and I dreaded to see if I failed his test.
Until he walked into a drawer and pulled out a black box.
"Here, a gift for my student." he smiled.
I took it in my hands and stared at it.
"A ring?"
"A very special ring and I want to gift it to you, for your graduation." he had a mysterious smile on his face.
Wait.
"Wait, my graduation?" I gaped at him.
"Indeed. You've already learned most of what I can teach you in Mandarin. You're fluent enough to engage in conversation, and I cannot teach you Cantonese for I have my own responsibilities to do."
"Oh."
"You have nothing to fear, Adrien. I still live in this city, you know?" he chucked.
That's not it, I'm just surprised that I'm fluent in Mandarin that quickly. I'm not even in lycée, you know?
"Well, time is up, our lesson is over. I hope to see you visit my shop, Adrien." Master Fu bid farewell.
"Okay! See you again, teacher!" I waved goodbye to him as he left
"I'm no longer your teacher. By the way, I hope you like cheese!" he parted with those last words.
Cheese, huh? Don't worry, I'll have plenty.
Years later…
Marinette Dupain-Cheng and her twin Bridgette were apprehensive. Scratch that, they were downright scared.
After all, there are two new students coming in here! And as class representatives, both of them being the president and vice-president of the class, they have the obligation of showing those two what the school's like.
"Oh dear ohdearohdear!" Marinette's muttering reached Bridgette and she smacked her head.
"Calm down! I'm scared as well but we have to be confident!"
"You don't understand! From what I've heard from Chloé, one of them is her childhood friend, and he's Adrien Agreste! You know, the model?"
Bridgette was silent for a moment before her eyes widened.
"Oh, shit,"
"Oh, shit indeed, you idiot. Why do you think I'm so nervous? One word from him and our careers as fashion designers would be over before it even began."
Bridgette's head turned and her eyes widened.
"Here they come!"
Marinette followed suit and she saw a girl with glasses, a plaid shirt, and blue jeans. She was looking around curiously and took attention to the two sisters.
Bridgette saw the opportunity and took it.
"Hey!" she waved cheerily and approached the girl.
"You must be Alya Césaire, hi, my name is Bridgette Dupain-Cheng, yes, that's two last names combined, let me show you around!" the vice president took the arms of Alya and dragged her off.
Bridgette you bitch!
Marinette fumed at the betrayal of her kin. She didn't notice the blonde approaching her from behind.
"Hello, are you the class representative for Ms. Bustier?" he asked.
"Uh-uhh, y-yes, I am!" she stuttered.
Damn it, I stuttered! She thought in her mind. And then she turned around.
Oh. My. God.
He was only wearing a black button-up with grey pants. So why was she sweating so much?
Fuuuck… It's literally a simple get-up, why am I so nervous? She bit her lip.
No problem, she just has to imagine he's naked and she won't be so nervous, right?
So she did.
Oh no, he's hot!
"Oh, good" he sighed in relief. "I was hoping not to mess up my first day here. Anyways, lead the way then." he smiled at her.
This is gonna be difficult… Marinette thought.
At least I have you, right Tikki? Marinette patted her bag. But Tikki was not there, for she went with Bridgette along with her own Kwami, Mullo.
.
.
.
TIKKI!
So… some changes happened in the last few years.
For starters, my mother is alive, so that's good news.
The bad news is I'm not actually sure she's a good guy or a bad guy with her being the Peacock miraculous holder.
My dad is still Hawkmoth if the news I've been seeing were right. Although his motives are unknown since the akumatized villains don't shout about handing them the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous.
My mom fights Hawkmoth with her sentimonsters, although I don't know if it's because the both of them aren't aware the other are on opposing sides, or they are and it's a facade slash fetish play.
Ladybug had debuted recently, fighting with the akumatized villains, and sometimes the sentimonsters; part of the reason I'm not really sure about if my mom's a villain or a hero.
Also, Multimouse is there.
With Ladybug.
So she either has mastered Multimouse's ability of cloning so that one of them can turn into Ladybug or vice versa, or someone else is Multimouse. And seeing as Bridgette Dupain-Cheng is here, then she could be Multimouse.
Another thing is that I've been Chat Noir for years, yet I haven't really made a public debut. I've been fighting mooks and criminals in the darkness for most of my heroic career, and sometimes supervillains, but I made sure not to be seen.
The news has been saying something about a shadow hero for a few years now but hasn't had confirmation, and I'm thinking of ending that soon.
Although both heroines Marinette and Bridgette are aware that Chat Noir's been active for awhile, seeing as Plagg's been talking with both Tikki and Mullo for that long as well.
And I may have introduced myself on their first day and have been friends ever since. Still, no revealing secret identities though, even if I know who they are.
As I entered the classroom with Marinette leading the way, we saw Bridgette and Alya going in as well.
I entered the classroom while Marinette dashed off to her twin.
"Adrien!" two yellow and orange blurs slammed into me.
"Ouch. Hello as well, Chloé, Sabrina" I smiled as the two beamed at me.
I met Sabrina a while back when Chloé introduced her to me, and we've all been friends.
"It's so nice to see you go to lycée this year! Maybe this time you'd have more friends instead of that online girlfriend you talk about!" Chloé teased but I swore I saw a bit of malice in those words.
"Kagami's just a fellow gamer, and you would know that too if you were played online games as well." I retorted.
"Uh-huh. Gamer…" she huffed and raised a brow.
"I'm serious!"
"I'm sure you are."
"Anyways, let me introduce you to my friends!" Chloé dragged me off to her friends with Sabrina following us.
I liked this Chloé, she's much nicer and actually made friends. Although they would tease her about being a rich "ojou-sama" and a "tsundere". Not that Chloé would know what that is seeing as she doesn't watch anime either.
The only thing missing are ringlets and the ohohoho laugh and then she would be best girl.
It's happening.
A sentimonster has been seen and it's only a matter of time until an akumatized follows. It's been happening so frequently there's an alarm for it.
As the sentimonster approaches the villain, a red yoyo strikes out.
"Stop right there, criminal scum!" Multimouse grins confidently, with Ladybug landing with a frontflip on a building next to her.
The sentimonster roars at her while the villain introduces himself.
"I am Simon Says! And I will hypnotize everyone in this city, including Gabriel Agreste!"
I hid in an alley and looked at my ring.
"So you're finally showing yourself, kid?" Plagg calls out to me.
"Uh-huh, I think it's time" I smiled at him.
"Sure it isn't because of the two chicks you talk regularly to?" He smirked.
"Maybe," I smirked right back at him.
"Well, you do you. I could never understand how you humans do romance anyways, and I'm older than every single one of your civilizations combined!" he guffawed and placed his arms and paws up.
"Well? Cheese? Let me have 'em!" he demanded.
"Alright, alright." I took the camembert and fed it to him.
He gulped and burped. "Ahh~~~ that's the stuff. Right, you ready, kid?"
"I am!"
Well then…
"Claws out!"
A/N: Nice break I had, just relaxed and unwinded for a while. And I decided that my fics don't need to have the main element as RWBY, so I decided on an MLB one-shot.
