This will probably be a multi chapter story of drabbles, i don't know yet, but i hope you enjoy reading it.
Uchiha Sasuke had fallen in love in a little cozy coffee place, with a man with skin bathed in the sunlight, sun kissed hair and goofy smile.
He, the man that did not believe in love at first sight, had fallen in love with a man sporting a silly blue apron with a duck printed on it, a man with a loud voice and a contagious laugh.
He could not be more different than him, a serious businessman dressed in suits, a forever ringing phone and a laptop filled with problems. But here he was, in a cozy café staring at the man with the blue gentle eyes.
After scanning the room the man had walked to his side and asked if he could take the only empty couch he could find, nobody had wanted to seat there, probably because of his imposing look and not so friendly eyes, but the blonde man had happily taken the seat when he gestured his agreement with his hand.
They hadn't talk, not a single word, as they were both lost in their own world, but Sasuke would steal a look here and there.
Sasuke thought chances of finding the blonde again were slim because he had to go on a month-long trip abroad, but lo and behold, there he was, on the same table, with the same silly apron and furiously typing on a laptop. The sight was as refreshing as he remembered, there was something there in his sunny look and his inviting smile that just tugged at his heart.
There were several empty seats this time but he chose to sit in front of the man, who looked up from his computer and smiled at him like they had known each other for a lifetime. Sasuke extended his hand to the blonde, it was the polite thing to do, right? He wasn't doing it to open up a conversation with the man. "Uchiha Sasuke" - he presented himself, that air of superiority always hung around his name. Blue eyes opened up in surprise, the golden lashes fluttering with movement. "Nice to meet you, Uzumaki Naruto. Thanks for choosing me as your coffee partner again" - he remembered, the butterflies in his stomach fluttered.
"It's the closest seat to the bar area" - he answered nonchalantly, his palms sweaty, and it definitely wasn't the coffee's fault
"Very convenient" - Naruto laughed, oh how he wanted to take his face into his hands and kiss him. "Thanks for the company, Mr. Uchiha"
"Sasuke's fine" - that heart melting smile again. Sasuke smiled back and to avoid looking like an enamoured idiot he went back to his tablet, which wasn't even on yet, but the other man would never notice.Saying that Sasuke looked for the blonde anywhere he went was an understatement, but deep in his heart he knew Naruto would not be anywhere near the places he visited, judging by the rundown laptop, ripped sneakers and disheveled hair. But still, he looked around the fanciest restaurants, offices and buildings for a sight of his blonde crush. On a scale from 1 to 10, how creepy would it be if he asked his assistant to search for the blonde? Probably a ten, so he scratched that thought from his mind, let's leave it at the occasional and casual coffee encounters.
The third time Sasuke had entered the coffee shop, Naruto was already there, the blonde looked up as if on queue, he raised his arm and waved at Sasuke, inviting him. "I knew I'd seen you before" - he said with a wide grin, he took a magazine in his slender femenine hands and opened it in a double page article of the Uchiha. "Sexiest and richest men of 2020" - he laughed. Sasuke grunted.
"Busted" - he lifted his hands in defeat
"Wow, my coffee buddy is a celebrity. I think I can sell the story to the tabloids for a few bucks" - he joked. Sasuke laughed, a genuine merry laughter, so unlike him. But the thing was that the man sitting in front brought something in him that he couldn't quite put the finger on.
"How about you tell me more about yourself, seems fair enough as you pretty much have my biography written down in that magazine"
"I am 27, preschool teacher, orphan and pretty much everything that's not listed in this beautifully detailed magazine special" - he laughed, a blush covering his cheeks. "So that kinda beats any chance for a date" - the blonde said, Sasuke's eyes widened. That was life giving him a chance.
"So you were thinking of dating me?" - he sounded cockier than he intended but the red face of the younger man toáld him he was on the right track, Naruto's blue eyes opened to their full extent, his arms flapped around like a pair of wings as he stuttered his response.
"What?! No… no… I mean…" Bingo, Sasuke had the winning numbers.
Sasuke took his card out of his pocket and handed it to the fretting blonde. "Call me, if you're up on that date" - he got up and left, he didn't notice the nervous smile and the trembling fingers that gripped the card.Sasuke received the call, exactly two week after their third encounter, he had to take two deep breaths, push his assistant out of the door and lock himself in so he could hide his nervousness.
And so, on October 15, at 6:30 pm he found himself standing outside a small apartment complex, in his convertible that seemed completely out of place.
"Fancy car Uchiha Sasuke" - Naruto blushed when the older man got out to open the door for him.
Naruto was a feast to the eye, his golden locks always disheveled, rosy cheeks dusted with a few freckles, his clothes were carefully selected for today, the blonde had tried to impress, but really, he could have worn a paper bag and to Sasuke it would have been a work of art.
Sasuke had chosen the best restaurant of the city, it was high above a building, with a terrace overlooking the ocean. The waiters immediately knew who he was so they performed an impeccable service, silently bringing to the table every appetizer and glass of wine.
Naruto had been fidgeting, looking around in embarrassment, he had thought of the boy to be quite talkative and outgoing but the person in front of him was completely opposite of what he imagined. And then it clicked, Sasuke was used to dating models, actors, politicians, people who were highly interested in his status and his money, people he had to impress and use for his personal gain, but Naruto wasn't like that, this was probably the first time he had even come to a fancy restaurant.
He took the blonde's hand and rubbed it. "You seem out of it. I'm sorry for bringing you here, it was very thoughtless of mine, I apologize if this made you uncomfortable" - Naruto gave him half a smile.
"I mean, I take the bus every morning to work, I can barely even afford ramen twice a month… I'm sorry… for wasting your time… I'm probably not your usual type of date" - Sasuke shook his head, he was wrong, well not on the part of him not being his usual date, but this wasn't a waste of time.
"Let's get out of here, let me start over" - Sasuke begged, and Naruto nodded.
The blonde asked him to stop at a pedestrian mall near the beach, they walked for hours, talked and laughed. Sasuke's heart seemed to be full, ready to burst, especially when the blonde reached for his hand to interlace their fingers, he smiled up at him and turned right away to hide his embarrassed blush. It had been a long time, probably since high school since he had held hands with a date, since the date consisted more about knowing each other rather than rushed emotionless sex. They arrived at Naruto's home well past midnight, the blonde reached up and pecked his cheek, happily waving goodbye as he disappeared through the door.
"I'm never washing my cheek again" - the brunette thought to himself, touching his face.It was safe to say their first date had been saved, Sasuke had been texting the blood all week long, smiling so much, his assistant had mockingly taken his temperature to see if he was sick. His phone pinged and his assistant snickered
"Oh, the mystery man appears, you can't even hide that smile of yours" - she teased
"Shut up Sakura, a client is texting me" - he grumbled, but that wasn't true and his assistant knew.
He had received a selfie from Naruto, his face splattered in paint, his cheeky grin and his nearly closed eyes made his heart swoon. How idiotic would he look if he used it as a wallpaper on his phone? Besides, they weren't officially a couple yet, so yeah, scratch that thought.
The second date was all Naruto's idea, he had asked Sasuke to pick him up at his job, Sasuke parked a much more discreet car and watched as Naruto came outside, he was carrying a toddler in his arms, he was smiling from ear to ear, swinging the laughing toddler until his mother took him and waved goodbye. A few toddlers later the man ran up to his car, he jumped in and in an unpredictable move the blonde leaned in for a small peck. He didn't know what kind of expression he had made but Naruto doubled down in laughter.
"Surprised?" - he said in giggles
"Very much so" - Sasuke traced his lips with his fingertips
"You didn't have to change your car for me, you know?"
"Who said I did it for you? This car is more comfortable, elegant and you can save tons of gas money with this beauty" - Sasuke answered with a cocky smirk, Naruto laughed, he knew that wasn't true at all.
The blonde had chosen his favorite ramen place, a small family owned restaurant ten minutes away from Naruto's apartment. The servers and chef greeted Naruto as if he was part of the family, with a wink they guided him to the farthest booth to give them some privacy.
Spending the day with Naruto gave a sense of normalcy to his life, no talk about money or status, just about hobbies and movies, about plans and food. He didn't even remember when was the last time he had enjoyed this every day chitchat, even in high school his dates were calculated with the purpose of gaining something. For the longest time, his assistant, Sakura, had bought flowers for his partners, she knew their birthdays and anniversaries, she had jotted down in her green notebook every special day, and she had made sure to buy flowers, chocolates or whatever the hell these people liked. So seeing Sasuke come inside the office with a huge bouquet of sunflowers was something she thought she would never see, she curled a curious brow at her boss and snorted when he flipped her off.
"Mystery man is so lucky" - she mocked.
"You're lucky i love you too much to kick you out Sakura" - he retorted, the pink haired girl flipped him off this time.
He took off after the last meeting, and parked in front of the small apartment building, he took a deep breath and fixed his jacket before running up a flight of stairs. Apartment 07, he knocked three times and a groggy pajama clad Naruto came to the door, the man's eyes grew wide and with a yelp he closed the door in his face.
"Why didn't you call?!" - he yelled, Sasuke heard frantic footsteps and things falling all over the floor, he didn't answer the blonde's question, he wasn't able to process the sight, his crush. had been standing in front of him, in a frog pajama.
"You idiot, jesus christ, what do i do?" - he whimpered. Sasuke snapped out of it and tried to open the door, luckily Naruto hadn't locked it, so he came inside, the blond was now shirtless, trying to put on a black top.
He was blushing so hard his freckles were more visible. "Don't look" - he whined
"I wanted to surprise you, i was on my way to the office when i saw this sunflowers, they reminded me of your hair, and your cute freckles, so i bought them for you, and I kinda wanted to see you, to make us official I guess...but things didn't go as i had pictured them in my head" - Sasuke scratched the back of his head nervously.
Naruto stopped trying to get dressed, he dragged his bare feet to the brunette, he took the flowers from his hands and laughed.
"You are such a dork. So you're officially my boyfriend now?"
"Only if you accept" - Naruto laughed out loud, he placed the flowers on the couch beside him and threw himself at Sasuke, wrapping his long legs around the taller man and diving in for a kiss.Dating Naruto was a breath of fresh air, he felt normal for once, taking strolls in the park, eating ice cream, pizza, you name it. Naruto disliked the attention of high end restaurants and the city night life wasn't something he was fond of so their dates were nothing he had experienced before and he was grateful for that. Naruto had been his first for many things and so he wanted to be the first for Naruto, he wanted Naruto to experience things he hadn't had the opportunity to live, for their first winter break at school, Sasuke had booked a cabin abroad. Naruto was glued to the window of the plane all trip long, his childlike excitement was endearing and it made him love the blonde more. Their first night, surrounded by snow, sitting underneath a blanket and drinking hot chocolate was the perfect moment and Sasuke had finally voiced what his heart had told him all those months ago, when he first saw him at that small coffee shop. "I love you" - he had whispered, and those amazing blue eyes warmed his soul as they stared into his.
It was the first time they had made love too, as strange as it had been for the brunette, he was used to having sex with his partners a date or two into their relationship, nothing memorable, just searching for release, but he wanted to take his time with Naruto, the blonde never pushed him for intimacy and so they had taken their own natural pace.
Waking up to him cuddling to his side was the highlight of his entire life, smelling his sweet scent, basking in the warmth of his thinner body. It obviously wasn't their first time having sex with a man but it felt like it, they were nervous and awkward for the start, but a few laughs and kisses later it only felt natural, like they were meant to be there. Uchiha Sasuke had fallen in love in a little cozy coffee place, with a man that sometimes smelled of crayons and finger paint, a man with sun kissed skin and golden hair, of a man that loved ramen and enjoyed walks in the park, of a man that was pure and mischievous at the same time.
And here he was, two years into this fairytale, watching the blonde man sitting down at the table where they had once met. His curious blue eyes looked around the empty place.
"You rented this whole place for our anniversary dinner?" - he laughed, Sasuke smiled and reached into his pocket.
"Not exactly" - he whispered as he knelt down on one knee.
Uchiha Sasuke had fallen in love with this beautiful man over a cup of coffee and he could not be happier.
