Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Magical Mysteries. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ben Ten, Cartoon Network and a few others do.
Hope looked at the boy and blinked. He wore very different clothing then her.
His yellowish green armor like jacket clashed with her purple dress. The white boots and pants stood in contrast to her black leggings. The hood covering his head blew off with another gust of wind.
And his jet-black hair seemed to almost stand out against her snow-white hair.
"Hope…" Spellbinder's voice came from her book as Hope looked at the book in shock. "This is Conjure. He will be your protector." Spellbinder said before the voice cleared its throat.
"Conjure's family has stood in protection of the royal family for years." Spellbinder added as Conjure groaned in pain. "I used to wish for you and him to be wed considering how often you both would play together." Spellbinder said before Hope cocked her head.
"I sealed Conjure into your spell book in case Addwaitya was ever reawakened. It was at request of his father at least his son survived." Spellbinder said to his daughter. "I erased your memories of him to keep Addwaitya from him and you. They will return with time.… Hope? I love you. You will survive Addwaitya, I do not know if anyone has the power to defeat Addwaitya. I do know I will not let him have my family. Stay safe." Spellbinder stated before the book fell silent.
Conjure slowly started to wake up with a groan as Hope walked over to him. He rubbed at his head and looked up.
"Hope?" Conjure asked before slowly climbing to his feet and looking around. "Where are we? What happened?" Conjure asked while slowly looking around.
It took him only a moment to realize this wasn't Ledgerdomain. Which meant they weren't in their home dimension. Conjure frowned as the 13, about to be 14-year-old Warlock looked around.
"Addwaitya." Hope hissed before walking away. Conjure's eyes widened.
The last thing he remembered was King Spellbinder ushering him into a secret chamber and a spell that teleported him into the royal spell book.
"So, you're supposed to be my bodyguard?" Hope questioned as Conjure flipped to his feet. He instantly followed after the princess.
"Well, that is what King Spellbinder asked of me." Conjure said while looking at the ground. Hope's scowl didn't remove itself for a bit. "If it makes you feel any better? I don't think your dad is dead." Conjure said to Hope.
The woman responded by picking Conjure up with her magic. Conjure said nothing as Hope scowled.
"My father is busy fighting a war against someone and he sent me to Earth… With only a single bodyguard when I should be back home fighting." Hope said before throwing Conjure into a nearby dumpster. The lid almost smashed Conjure in the head before he sighed and pulled himself out.
Conjure couldn't exactly fault Hope for being angry at him. Spellbinder had told the boy that he had all the defenses he needed prepared, however. It did help that the man was never one to downsize one of his plans when it came to something.
Conjure knew fully well Spellbinder would be fine. The man had founded Ledgerdomain from the ground up. Nobody would take the empire he built away from him.
"He said to protect you, you know." Conjure said while levitating over to Hope. He brushed off his jacket and sighed. "I'm just as mad as you are about not getting to fight Addwaitya." Conjure stated as Hope glared at him.
It didn't last more then a minute, allowing Conjure to look at the princess as she sighed and pushed past him. Conjure slowly followed the princess.
"What we are going to do is find a resistance strong enough to take back Ledgerdomain." Hope put in at first. "Then we are going to march back, take back our home, and kill the idiot who tried to take it over to begin with." Hope said before opening her book. "We start by finding somewhere to live." Hope said before Conjure raised an eyebrow.
Hope hummed and twirled the rock creatures in the palm of her hand. Conjure said nothing to object to her plan and simply looked at the creatures in question.
'Should I point out to her how different I've heard Earth is?' Conjure thought to himself while brushing off his clothing. He didn't want to anger the witch anymore then he already did.
Conjure also knew for a fact that Hope wasn't one to ever give up if she could turn the tables on something. It was part of one reason he enjoyed playing with her. Hope always had the brains of her father when it came down to it.
Hope turned and walked with Conjure following after her. He pulled up his hood.
Hope designed to assume a different name on Earth. She didn't know what it would be yet.
