This story will require a bit of explaining so bare with me. I came upon this tumblr post that I can't find to source again but the gist of it goes in most mythologies there is always that one dude who often creates most of the mythologies legends. For example the Greeks had Zeus who was the source of a lot of the Greek mythos's problems. There are definitely a lot more examples than I chose but I digress. The premise of this crack story is that for Luginica's mythology The Great Sages are that one guy(s). I preface this story and others with I do not have extensive knowledge of the lore and this not intended to be even remotely canon. With all said and done please sit back and enjoy.

The Great Sage went on their merry way until they came upon the Witch of Greed. The Great Sage knew of her great power but he continued anyway for they had no fear of the witch.

"I challenge you to a game…"Spoke the mysterious witch. Through the land all knew of her shrewd nature. She continued. "If you beat me I'll grant any of your desires"

The Sage knew it was a trick, one did not hold the title of sage without becoming wise. However he knew it was foolish to simply reject the wishes of a witch and so: "I shall play your game Witch on the condition that no one shall be harmed"

The witch offered a glad smirk: "Very well great Sage… The game shall be a challenge to see who can surprise the other"

With a shake of their hands the two began their little game. The Witch turned her attention to a distant town. With a powerful chant the town began to distort rapidly shifting. Small shacks rotted, Huge stone buildings randomly cropped up until suddenly the town caught fire. Nothing was spared as wooden buildings turned to ash and the buildings of stone charred and toppled over.

The Sage merely glared at the Witch.

"I thought we agreed that no one would be harmed."

"No one was, it was all an illusion. I merely projected the future of that town."

Satisfied with the Witch's answer the Sage merely huffed in annoyance.

"You can now show the future?" He asked in slight annoyance. It was widely known that the Sage had been searching for the ability to see into the future for some time now. The search had nearly disconnected the Sage from the present. They began to ignore their friends and those that needed them in favor of searching for the power that had eluded them. As of late however, their search had seemingly stopped and they had begun reconnecting with those they had nearly lost.

"Yes, oh great sage it appears that what is lost to you is reserved for me." The Witch had hoped that this revelation would have shocked the Sage and they would be forced to do whatever the greedy Witch wanted. However the Sage had merely responded with annoyance as if they had been expecting this.

"I gave up my search not because it could not be done, I stopped for a much simpler reason."

With that the Sage calmly approached the Witch. She didn't know what to expect from this sage as not many had dared to approach any of the Witches and from her prior knowledge the sages wouldn't do anything to harm them. As she got in arms length of the witch, what happened next truly shocked her. The Sage had slapped the Witch. It wasn't particularly hurtful as there wasn't much force behind it but it left a face of utter surprise on the Witch.

"I merely realized that the future didn't matter in the face of now."
