Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Magical Mysteries. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ben Ten, Cartoon Network and a few others do.
Conjure hummed and looked out from under his hood. He crossed his arms and looked at Charmcaster.
"So… This is the place?" Conjure asked, he looked at the 2 Stone Creatures behind them. "Quaint." Conjure stated to himself as Charmcaster rolled her eyes.
"Very funny." Charmcaster said before snapping her fingers. "Stay, watch out here." Charmcaster commanded her creatures.
They looked over the decrepit building. It looked slightly run down. Charmcaster and Conjure guessed nobody had paid to replace the cracked bricks or obvious scaffolding. 2 stone lions stood outside like watchful guardians.
"What exactly are we looking for?" Conjure questioned while he and Charmcaster walked inside. "You really found a magical book here?" Conjure asked the princess.
"I found something important looking here." Charmcaster said and blinked.
Charmcaster heard the librarian at her desk look up slightly at them. Conjure hummed and placed down a few dollars. The woman took it and nodded.
"What important thing?" Conjure questioned while they walked across the library. "Should I point out we don't know anything? We barely have any magic. Neither of us know what's going on back home." Conjure stated as Charmcaster sighed and rubbed at her eyes.
Conjure cracked his fingers. He was entirely ready to use his magic whenever Charmcaster needed it.
"And that is why we need something important." Charmcaster responded while she looked around. "Besides… I'm going to look." Charmcaster stated while her eyes glowed purple.
Charmcaster started to use her magic to locate the book. Conjure watched as several books floated towards her. Conjure watched Charmcaster's magenta colored magic surrounded each book.
"Should I point out just how many soldiers Adwaita has?" Conjure asked Charmcaster who grabbed one of the books.
The woman at the desk barely looked around. Conjure could hear nothing but the clack of something. He guessed she was busy messing with the device she had.
"Conjure?" Charmcaster said and then passed the book to Conjure. Charmcaster raised her eyebrow while her friend looked at her. "Look at it." Charmcaster stated while Conjure hummed and looked at it.
"I don't see anything different." Conjure stated while Charmcaster rolled her eyes. "What? You want me to lie?" Conjure asked before a strike of lightning appeared.
Both magicians turned to look at the weather in surprise. Conjure brought up his hand, ready to fight.
"Weird weather." Charmcaster stated before Conjure hummed and lowered his hand. "Anyway, we should keep looking. I've seen more books here." Charmcaster added which made Conjure shrug.
"Beats standing around." Conjure said as the duo walked forward. Conjure was about to start up the stairs.
Then he felt up a chill going up his spine. Conjure turned to see Charmcaster shake as well. Conjure hummed as the duo looked to the side.
"Did you feel that?" Conjure asked and got a hum from Charmcaster. "Maybe its nothing." Conjure stated and pulled down his hood.
He looked around the store. He couldn't see anything around them. Charmcaster couldn't tell if it was nothing, but she was sure someone wanted to hunt her.
"Just keep looking." Charmcaster stated to Conjure who nodded. "Anyway…" Charmcaster said and looked while both looked around once more.
"Yeah, the books." Conjure responded and nodded his head. "What about them? Your sure that their magic books?" Conjure asked Charmcaster who nodded in response.
Conjure sighed and spread his arms out slightly. Mana danced between his fingers and palms.
"We should get out soon." Charmcaster said and slowly started to walk through the rows of books. "Just keep a watch out, ok?" Charmcaster asked Conjure who nodded once more.
"Yeah, I'll keep watch." Conjure stated to Charmcaster. "What about your magic monsters? The stone ones? Wouldn't they detect magic and let you know?" Conjure questioned his friend.
"Yes, but they wouldn't let us know." Charmcaster responded while trying to use her magic finding spell. "They can't let themselves be caught that easy. Their stupid, but not that stupid." Charmcaster said as Conjure crossed his arms.
"I wouldn't call the magic creatures you made stupid." Conjure said and waved his hands around defensively. "Besides, their supposed to keep you out of harm. Anyway… Just go and look for the book. I'll deal with anything that shows up." Conjure stated as Charmcaster started to pull books off.
She quickly looked over a few and then turned around to Conjure. He crossed his arms and started to look around.
Charmcaster sighed. Conjure was the only help she was going to be getting in this world. She knew he was more of a partner then a lacky.
"Conjure, anything?" Charmcaster asked Conjure who shook his head. "Well?" Charmcaster asked only for a hum to be her response.
"Not really." Conjure said and cracked his neck. He looked around with amusement. "Unless you count books to be something." Conjure put in while crossing his arms.
