I do not own RWBY or any other franchises that I may be mentioning or taking inspiration from.
Thank you for reading.
—Chapter 1—
The fibrous tendrils of grass greet me upon my awakening tickling the inside of my nose and the rudest of my face. An earthy smell penetrates my nostrils small flecks of dirt riding my breaths. Wait where am I. The panicked thought jolts me out of my reprieve sending my scrambling onto my butt. The clearing before me presents itself the ancient trunks of giant trees towering over the underbrush encroaching on the clearing the rustle of the vibrant green leaves a stark contrast to my panicked breath.
"Where am I?" The sentence escapes my lips as I behold the colourful birds flitting around the treetops providing their sweet song to the music of the forest.
"What is this place?" My memories suddenly rush back into my head sending me reeling the flash of headlights in the rain, the scream of a child, my desperate rush to drag them out of the way of the approaching hulk of steel. Me using my strong arms to throw the girl out of the way of the truck. I glanced to the side to see the wheels of the truck squeal over the wet pavement. I closed my eyes as the bright light gets closer piercing through the torrent of rain. 'At least she's safe' I remember thinking.
Is this the dream air was it my previous life my no good 2nd rate boring life the routine in which I got stuck in. Spending my commute to school watching anime and reading fanfictions. My failure at keeping my family together. The failure at keeping any friends through my time in school. 'Maybe I'm in one of those reincarnation fanfiction I think with laugh. 'maybe its my second chance'.
I stand up brushing the dirt of my beige trousers and red shirt already the chill of the afternoon breeze sweeping through the forest. I glance up to look at my surroundings in greater detail and get thrown right back to the ground as a pale blue rectangle appears in centre of my vision.

Would you like a tutorial?
(Yes/No)
"What the FUCK!" My piercing shriek tears through the air sending a flock of birds high into the sky.
"Ok lets think about this" My totally calm mind reasoned my breaths coming in short gasps.
"I died, But I LIVED! Ok that's enough. So I died and now I'm inside a massive forest with a blue rectangle permanently floating in the centre of my field of view. What else am I in an anime… nah that would just be stupid" I let out a deep breath with a sigh and reluctantly reach my small finger out.
"Hold up. Small finger!?" I look down to see the small body of a scrawny kid seemingly aged somewhere around nine years old. The thin and scrawny muscles on a lithe frame. Shoulder length sandy brown hair falls roughly off my head.
"This isn't my body" I mutter not exactly happy about this.
The blue rectangle flashes in the centre of my vision resulting in my eyes focusing back on the strange box. I know I'm way out of my depth I definitely need this so called 'tutorial' reaching out to press the 'yes' at the bottom of the notification. Suddenly the box transforms into a pale blue wall in the centre of my vision with blocks of text along it.

(Press on any to visit the topic present)
I sigh knowing that there was going to be a large amount of reading in my future. I reach out and press
on option 1. Immediately the screen morphs into more text filling my field of view.
1: Stats
1.1: The basic stats are as follows;
Vitality (Vit): This stat determines your health and stamina largely affects endurance and defensive skills.
Strength (Str): This stat determines how much you can carry, how much inventory space you have and normally affects physical damage scaling. Some items need a set amount of strength to use.
Dexterity (Dex): This stat determines how precise your movements are and normally affects aiming, crafting, using faster weapons and normally affects skills using accuracy or refined actions. Some weapons need a certain amount of Dexterity to use
Agility (Agi): This stat determines the speed of your movements and normally affects attack speed, movement speed and speed related skills. Some weapons need a certain amount of Agility to use
Intelligence (Int): This stat determines your magic skills and normally affects skills using magic.
Wisdom (Wis): This stat determines your max mana, your mana regeneration and affects observation and identification skills
1.2: Hidden stats
There are a variety of hidden stats that you will uncover during your journey. But I'll give you one for free. Luck!
Luck changes your chances of getting better loot from the Gacha system, from killing enemies, chance based effects, critical hits and a variety of other effects.
1.3: How to increase stats
This is normally done by allocating stat points but it is also possible to upgrade through training that specific stat. Ill let you figure out how to do that by yourself though.
(Next)
I breathe deep as I finish reading that chunk of text. I think that I have gotten the gist of what it was trying to tell me. It seems that there are a group of stats that control aspects of magic and physical combat as well as skills. I'm interested to what the crafting system is like because it was mentioned that dexterity can benefit crafting. I reach out preparing myself for more reading and press next.
2.1: levelling up
You have an XP bar and each time you level up you obtain 5 stat points and one PP. You can use stat points to upgrade your stats to make yourself stronger. Stat points are used to change your innate abilities, biological features, unlock new skills and varying other effects.
The way you level up is by virtually any action for example; killing enemies, crafting, completing quests and completing dungeons.
The amount of EXP gained from killing enemies is multiplied by the type of enemy, the level of the enemy and the difference in level between the enemy and the player.
If you kill an enemy with a teammate the total EXP will be split between you with the difference in level being calculated by the highest levelled ally dealing damage to it.
Each level will have the previous level's Xp added to it. (Lvl 2 is 100Xp needed)
2.2: using Sp and Pp
By saying status you will have a pop up screen with all your stats visible and next to each stat will be a (+) symbol pressing on this will distribute stats. You may also think the amount of points you wish to put into a selected stat.
Next to your name there will be another (+) icon pressing this will open the Perk tree and all you need to do is select a perk and after reading the description press the another (+) sign next to the description. It will ask for confirmation and then depending on the change occurring it will occur at some point in the next 2 days. Most commonly when you sleep.

"Well that's good to know" I mutter knowing that there will probably be some changes to my body in the future as well as there being a way for my teammates to carry me, albeit less quickly than I had hoped. As Im reaching to press the next button I realise that all sounds have stopped. I quickly look around and realise that there are leaves stuck in place in the air and the rustle of trees have stopped. Another small box appears in the corner of my vision.
You finally noticed!
The system has decided to stop time for this long tutorial.
Occurrences like this will only happen if you are in no immediate danger and there is a system notice that requires you to read a lot of text.
+1 Int
'Why do I feel like your patronising me' I think glaring at the small text bubble. I reach out to press the next button to continue the lengthy tutorial.
3.1: Interface
There are many options available to change the notifications, stats, info and how your system interacts with the world. By saying settings there are many available choices to make about how the gamer system interacts with you and your surroundings.
The main aspects of your interface will become visible after you finish reading this section of the tutorial.
The interface includes;
Health, Mana and Stamina bars as well as any new values that you come across in your travels.
A minimap that will give you a customisable image of the detected area around you.
Your cooldowns for skills.
Active effects.
Enemy health bars, levels, rank, buffs and de-buffs.
Active quest objectives.
Notifications.
All of these interface effects can be changed moved or removed.
"Oh god" I whisper as I immediately realise that I will be having to do some serious menu hunting in my near future.
"Settings" I say under my dumbly expecting nothing to happen but. But after a slight delay another text box materialises in front top me.
Settings:
Interface
General Settings
Skills
Collectibles
I press on the interface settings and start to make some adjustments. After what feels like a year of moving sliders playing some bizarre puzzle and reverting to default I finally end up with a system that resembles order. What my field of view is filled by now is a minimap in my top left peripheral, and on the right side of the map my Health, Mana and Stamina bars are located with a number next to them giving a detailed readout. Underneath the bars are the active effects icon which now that im looking at it there seems to be an hourglass with a solid red line across it. In my top right there is my active quest with next objective underneath it as well as any progress listed. On the rest of my right side there is a long column that will have any notifications with buttons next to them to expand individual notifications. The minimap has been changed to a top down view orientated in my direction of view with enemies being a red triangle and friendlies a blue circle.
I turn around looking at my map as I see an endless amount of green surrounding my small island in the middle of the forest. I press the next button on the tutorial.
4.1: Items
Throughout your adventure you will encounter various items, consumables, and equipment holding unimaginable power. But high level items will attract monsters towards it in proportion to its rank. The most common way of getting high their items is by adventuring into dungeons but these will always be unnaturally difficult. Another way to obtain high levelled items is by crafting or finding them scattered around the world.
Items are organised in these ranks:
E
E+
D
D+
C
C+
B
B+
A
A+
S
S+
Divine
?
?
These ranks are much more powerful than the previous rank. E rank items are non magical and very low quality however D rank items can have magic or are of a relatively good quality.
(Next)
Well that's good to know at least there will be things to make myself overpowered even without being skilled. I reach out to press the next button.
5.1: Skills
Throughout your adventure you will find that skills are always going to be found and used most skills need some sort of requirement such as a catalyst, mana, stamina and rarely health. Skills will normally be influenced by the corresponding stat which makes paying attention to which skills you have is very important when allocating stat points.
Most skills are obtained through doing certain actions but some need to be taught to you.
Almost all skills can be upgraded but each skill has an evolution or a tech tree.
Evolutions occur at a specific level of skill where it becomes noticeably stronger and different.
Tech trees are a way of making your skill more customisable and allows you to min max specific areas of a skill.
Some skills may have both of these options.
Here's a freebie:
New skill!: Observe
Cost: Free
Cool-down: None
Time to cast: 0.5 seconds
Targeting an object, enemy, ally, or virtually anything else there will be a notification containing information dependent on the relative level of the skill compared to the target's level.
Difference of -20: information, current thoughts, emotions, plans, detailed stats, debuffs and buffs.
Difference of -19 to -10: health, mana, information, emotions, detailed stats, debuffs and buffs.
Difference of -9 to 0: health, mana, information, detailed stats, debuffs and buffs.
Difference of 1 to 19: health, mana, information, basic stats, debuffs and buffs.
20 to 49: health, mana, information, debuffs and buffs.
50 to 79:health, Information.
80 to 99: health.
100: Nothing
Cannot find information, stats, debuffs and buffs on equipment until you undergo the first evolution of this skill at level 50.
This is an example of a skill that its effects don't depend on its level by itself but by its level compared to others.
(Next)
"Im not sure wether this is a nerf or buff to the observe in most gamer systems." I mutter already reaching for the next button.
6.1: Upgrades
You will almost assuredly be encountering enemies much stronger than you are at the moment. Because of this it is possible to increase your strength at a speed unheard of in this world. You have already seen the way you and your skills can be improved through your multiple means. The easiest way is to find better equipment and skills.
Also all skills or equipment will be able to be upgraded or needed to unlock higher tier versions of itself.
(Next)
"Why is this even included in the tutorial?" I wonder as I read it. You know the drill, press the next button and prepare for a ton of reading.
7.1: Enemies
Across your travels you will find many different enemies some natural and many others that only exist in fiction (Some are taken from your previous world's media).
The ranking for enemies and their respective XP multiplier is.
Mob: 0.5
Basic: 1
Elite: 2
Chieftain: 3
Lord: 5
High lord: 10
Behemoth: 20
Colossus: 40
Titan: 80
?: 200
?: 500
?: ?
Each different tier of monster is much more powerful than the last. Mob tier will normally be either a huge swarm of individual monsters or monsters spawned from a larger one.
Now just for fun there will be a mob monster coming to your location five minutes after you close this window.
Good luck!

"Fuck you!"

Ok first chapter of first fanfiction done. Yay!
But how is it anything I should change. Is my grammar and spelling horrible. Please if you want to tell me that you don't like something in this fic give me a way to improve or something to replace it rather than just saying 'I don't like the way you did the _'.
