This is based on the short telling of Noah being bullied by his lil friends. His coming out, yes I changed a little bit of it and made it my own fic. Its my imagination playing and having fun. I dont know if I will add more to it or not. But as always constructive criticism is welcome
"No I don't want to eat dog food."
Noah was in a dog cage at his friends house. The older brother Hudson thought it would be fun to put Noah in a cage and torture him while his sister Annie watched. Noah had already been told to bark like a dog and he did and was also wearing a dog collar which was irritating his neck. Hudson just laughed at him. The kids mother was saying something about Olivia being there to pick up Noah and Hudson made him get out of the cage really quick. The mother came into the room quickly and she looked displeased as does Olivia when she came in right after. Both parents asking what was going on. Annie telling them that Hudson was making them play cats and dogs. Olivia looked at Annie, and then at their mother. The mother just casually saying "boys will be boys". Olivia didn't like that at all. But she could tell by Noah grabbing his coat he wanted to get out of there and didn't want to talk about it. Noah waited for his mother by the door. Olivia looked at the mother "By the way 'boys will be boys' is a cop out excuse."
As Olivia and Noah were walking she noticed her son getting distant. She moved to touch his neck cause she saw it was red. He flinched so she pulled away. "Noah sweetheart, what's going on? You couldn't wait to get out of the house and now you're flinching and distant." He looked at her, "Mommy we were rough housing. Playing around. Can we leave it at that?" Olivia not wanting to cause a rift with her son took his word. They made their way home. When they got back home Noah went to his room as Olivia settled in and began cooking dinner. He needed to tell someone what happened but he couldn't bring himself to tell his mom. So he text the next best thing to him. His auntie.
"-Auntie- i hope I'm not bothering you. I just need to talk. It's something I can't tell my mommy just yet. She just picked me up from Hudson and Annie's"
Amanda had just gotten in from work. Sending her nanny home Billie was playing in her pack n play and Jesse sitting with Frannie watching Frozen 2 for the millionth time. Amanda heard her phone go off. She saw that it was a text from Noah.
"Hey bud, you can always talk to me about anything."
He smiled when he saw her text. It meant alot that he was able to be close to his aunt after all the crap that happened with his grandma he was afraid to get close to a woman again but Amanda made him feel safe. He text her back.
"Well Auntie, when I was over at Hudson and Annie's, something happened. It's not an assault. But when I was over there today Hudson thought it would be fun to play dogs and cats. He had me locked in a dog cage, with a collar around my neck and tried to make me eat dog food. I of course refused to eat the dog food. The next thing I knew mommy had shown up I was taken out of the cage quickly just as their mom came in to tell me my mom was there. I was handing the collar to them just as my mom was coming in. This wasn't the first time Hudson had bullied someone. It was just the first time he had bullied me. I don't know what to tell mom. I'm not sure how I should bring it up to mommy without her getting angry or feeling sad. Um... would you be able to be there when I talk to mommy?"
Amanda was getting the kids ready for a bath when the text came through. She read it and her mind went all sorts of places. Her nephew coming to her cause he didn't feel his mom would understand. She text him back.
"Oh sweetheart. First off I'm very glad you told me. I will help you tell your mommy for sure. I work with her in the morning, would you like me to talk to her?"
He heard his mommy calling for dinner but got her text just in time. "Auntie, that would be a great help if you would. Please. I will tell mommy the whole story if I have you here with me."
Amanda got the text and was so enamoured by the amount of trust that her nephew had just bestowed in her.
"I will do just that sweetheart. I'll talk to mommy a little bit at work and then I'll arrange it so we talk to her together okay. You go get some rest sweet boy. Love ya kiddo."
He text back "Love ya too auntie."
He went to eat his dinner with his mom. She kept asking him if he was okay and he told her he was for the most part it was just a long day. She let it go after that since he wasn't acting to much out of the norm for him. They ended up watching a couple game shows together until it was time for him to go to bed.
Next Morning
Amanda's nanny came over for Billie. Jesse went off to school, as did Noah. Now it was time to go to work. Noah was still on Amanda's mind especially with everything he told her last night. She was worried about him, obviously.
Thankfully when she got to work she was the only one there besides her captain. She put her jacket on her chair like normal and locked her purse up in her drawer. She then made her way to Olivia's office.
"Hey Liv, can we talk a minute?" Amanda asked cautiously as she really didn't want to get on her friend's bad side this early into their shift.
Olivia looked over and saw Amanda at her door. "Sure Amanda, come on in. We have a little bit before everyone gets here. Everything okay?"
Amanda took a deep breath. She didn't know how to answer so she just said "I'm not sure Olivia." Olivia looked at Amanda especially where she just called her 'Olivia' .
Olivia came over to Amanda and lead her to the couch that was in her office. Amanda sighed,
"I don't even know where to start. I got a text from Noah last night. Made me a bit worried."
Olivia looked at Amanda once more, scowling in confusion. "Why would you be worried? He was fine with me last night. After I picked him up from his friends. We had dinner, watched a couple game shows. He went to be by himself after that."
Amanda hated feeling like this and she wasn't able to tell Olivia everything, she had to wait til she, Noah and Olivia were together.
"Did you notice anything at his friend's house? The kids acting strange? I'm not trying to step on any toes but Noah text me to talk last night because he told me for a few reasons. One he didn't know how to tell you without you getting upset and for two he didn't want to be a burden. Now Liv before you tear my ass a new one cause I sure as hell feel it. I told him to also talk to you. He reached out to me last night Liv. I didn't go behind your back as I am telling you right now. He however asked me if I would help him talk to you. I told him whatever he needed I would do."
Olivia's jaw dropped. Last thing she ever wanted in this world was her son to feel like he couldn't come to her. She sighed deeply. "Last thing I ever want is him to feel like he can't come to me. I do appreciate you being there for him last night Amanda. So you said he wants to talk to me but asked if you would be there. Amanda is it really that bad that he thinks he needs support from someone to talk to me?"
Amanda looked at her, biting her lip. She couldn't go into detail cause Noah didn't want her to. He wanted her to help him talk to his mom about everything he just went through. "Look Liv, I can't get into details about things without him here to tell you as well. I'd be breaking my promise to him. I can tell you, he is going through something right now and he needs his mother to have his back. Now I will ask again, did you notice anything at the kids house? Were the kids acting funny? Was Noah standoffish and want to just get out of there?" Olivia blinked trying to think back, though this was just yesterday and was so fast. Olivia nodded "He did want to get out of there pretty quick by just grabbing his jacket and going to the door. But I didn't read anything into it and now by the way you're talking to me, I'm guessing I missed something huge."
Amanda put her hand on Olivia. "We will get this all figured out. I know you're upset that he has asked me to be with him when ya'll talk and I'm okay with that. But the one thing that we both are concerned about is Noah. So I have to ask, would you be willing to let me come over tonight and just talk this out?"
Olivia thought for a few seconds. "Yes Amanda I would. Just because we need to get it sorted out, and the fact that he reached out to you. I'm not mad Amanda. I'm really not. I'm actually very grateful that you listened to him when he felt he couldn't come to me." Amanda went out to her desk and worked on the paperwork that was piling on her desk. Her mind was on Olivia and Noah and all that they had to talk about. For both the ladies of the squad the day seemed to drag on and on. It was finally time to get off. The ladies were tired as hell and each worried about Olivia's son. Olivia came out of her office, stopping at Amanda's desk.
"I'm going to head out, I ordered a pizza I'll pick it up on the way home. You want to meet us there?" Amanda nodded and said yes that would be good.
Olivia's Apartment-Dinner Time
Olivia had just gotten home, relieving Lucy. Noah came out to see his mom. "Hi Mommy. Ohhh you brought pizza home." He was also looking around for his aunt who he had hoped talked to his mom. Olivia caught him looking for Amanda. She came over and hugged him "I know you're looking for auntie. She will be joining us as well. Said that three of us needed to have a conversation."
Noah nodded and went on to the living room to relax. Olivia followed suit, both of them waiting for Amanda to come over. About twenty minutes later there was a knock on the door. Olivia went to the door, she saw Amanda through the peephole. She quickly opened the door and let her in. Amanda came in, she put her coat on the chair.
"Sorry I'm late. Had to stop and get gas." Noah smiled with relief that his auntie showed up. He came over and hugged her. Amanda hugged him back. "I gave you my word that I would be here sweetheart." They sat and enjoyed their pizza Amanda could see Noah getting nervous and told him to relax that she and his mom wanted to help him and were going to get to the bottom of it. Olivia paid attention to how Noah was relating to Amanda.
"Auntie, were you ever bullied by people you thought were your friends? If you have been what did you do to get it to stop?"
Amanda looked at him, such a loaded question. She looked at Liv who had a look of complete worry on her face.
"To be honest Noah, thats a loaded question." She took a deep breath. "Yes I was bullied. I was bullied alot thoughout school. You see I wasn't the most popular girl in school. I also, oh how do I say this. I liked the company of both girls and boys. Sometimes it would be one more than the other. It wasn't easy cause noone understood except for the few that I was involved with. The teasing was relentless. I found myself getting into alot of fights just defending myself. People telling me there was something wrong with me. I didn't open up to my parents cause they weren't the most caring people. They left me to raise my sister. Noah I didn't have the caring and nurturing like you do. As for how I got it to stop. I continued to stand up for myself. It wasn't easy Noah but that was what I did. I also just found my passion in being an officer slash detective. I put all my focus into that. Helped me to focus on the positive rather than the negative and knowing that it pissed them off that they weren't holding me back made it all the better. It didn't happen over night thats for sure. The words they had drilled into my head but as time went on and I kept pushing, it started to hurt less and less. You have your dancing, don't let anyone take that away from you. Let that fuel you to move forward amd forget the bullies. One thing, if you don't let the bullies affect you, then they get bored and move on."
Olivia took note and paid attention to the answer that Amanda gave and watched her son's reactions. She then started to see the whole picture. Her son was being bullied. She wanted to ask but she wanted to let her son talk and get it out the best way he could. She didn't have to wait long, Noah looked at his auntie who put her hand on his arm. Then looked back at his mommy.
"Uh mommy, I don't want to make you upset. Which is why I texted auntie first. " Noah took a deep breath. "Mommy when you picked me up from Hudson and Annie's house the other night. This is hard to explain. Mommy Hudson was bullying me. He had me in the dog cage, with the collar on. He was trying to make me eat dog food. He was making fun of me for dancing. That's why I was so quick to want to leave. Why I ran to get my jacket as quick as I could. Also why I had the red mark on my neck. I know I told you we were rough housing and that's what happened. I didn't want to lie, I don't think I lied I was just afraid to tell you. I didn't want to make you upset. So I texted auntie. She just told me that you love me which I know and that you would do everything to prevent me from being bullied. I'm sorry mommy that I didn't tell you right away. Thank you for everything auntie." He hugged both of them.
Olivia had tears in her eyes as she hugged her son. The tears for many different things. The fact that her son was bullied for doing something he loved and enjoyed. The fact that he had been worried enough and not wanting to bother her or upset her with all of this. Her voice strained with tears "Noah my sweet boy, my love. You are never a bother nor do you upset me. While I am glad you reached out to someone with your feelings and thankful that it was someone who could be here with us tonight. I so wish you would have felt comfortable talking to me. Noah that being said, I am always here for you. No matter what. I want you to come to me. I will figure something out about this situation and do something. I don't want you uncomfortable or anything like that. But I want to make the parents aware and I don't want you going over there anymore at least for a while. And just so you know sweet boy this isn't to punish you, it's to protect you. That is my most important job. To protect and look out for you."
Noah looked at Olivia. He loved his mommy he really did. "Thank you mommy. It means alot, you always have my back and support me. You are a parent that alot of kids wish they had. I'm lucky to have you as my mommy." Olivia beamed with pride "And I am lucky so very lucky to have you as my son."
A while later... Amanda's Apartment
Amanda had gone on home. It had gotten late and she figured that Olivia and Noah needed time to themselves. She had been there when Noah needed her and she was glad to have been there. She reflected on herself being bullied. That wasn't a fun time at all. It was very hard for her. She grabbed herself a beer and went to relax. Thankful that the girls were with her mother for the night. Speaking of that her mom called to tell her the girls were having a great time and she was glad to be able to spend time with them. She talked to her girls and they told her all the of the fun they were having with grammy. Amanda smiled hearing that. She hung up shortly after that. Her mind going to where she liked being able to help Noah and Olivia. Though it did nothing to help her feelings. She had been gaining feelings for her boss for a while. Especially after she had Billie. Everything that had happened when she got pregnant and all the issues. Olivia had really been a big help and an ear for her. The abortion talk, that clarified so much for her. Olivia being there when Al told her he'd pay for her to take care of it. The way Olivia built her up instead of tearing her down. Meant alot to her. Not to mention it helped her to form a crush on her.
Olivia's Apartment
Since Amanda had left, Noah had stayed out with Olivia. He felt much better that he had opened up and told his mom about the bullying. He hated not telling her but like he said he didn't want to make her sad or upset.
"Mommy, there is something else I have to tell you. It's probably why Hudson decided to do what he did. Mommy, here's the thing. Um... I... mommy I'm bi. Yes I know what it means. I like boys and I like girls. I just don't want you to hate me or be disappointed in me."
Olivia looked at her son. The son she loved more than anything in the world. He had just told her a very personal thing to him but a thing that showed her he was growing up. She couldn't love him more.
"Noah Benson, I would never hate you or be disappointed in you. I could never do that. I love you for who you are. You are my son and you will always be my son no matter what. I thank you for opening up and telling me., for trusting me."
Noah hugged his mommy. So glad he had her. The talking with his mommy and with his auntie though were good talks had taken alot out of him. So he ended up going to bed. Olivia tucking him in as she told him she loved him and she was proud of him. When she walked out of the room, she felt calmness. She felt good that she and her son had talked and she would take care of the bullying. She went on to her room, getting undressed and into bed so she could read and unwind. She also wanted to thank Amanda for coming over and just making it easier for them to talk. She realized she hadn't thanked Amanda so she sent a text
"Amanda - I thank you so much for coming over tonight. It meant alot to Noah. I am beyond grateful for you and your friendship and how you treat my son."
Amanda who herself had just gotten settled into bed after the nighttime routine with her own girls which included a couple of stories per Jesse's request. Her phone had dinged off once more reminding her she had a message. She read the message and it warmed her heart.
"Olivia- I am beyond grateful for your friendship and the fact you let me be Noah's aunt. The fact that you let me be there tonight and help him means alot. The fact that he came to me Liv, means more than you'll ever know. "
Amanda smiled as she sent that. Upon receiving the reply Olivia smiled. She had to admit it felt like Amanda was another parent to Noah. She had his back, protected him and his secret and helped him. She text Amanda back
"Amanda- I came to another realization. Noah and I talked after you left. It was a heart to heart. He told me another reason he was being bullied. Seems my son is bisexual. He at first said he didn't want to disappoint me. I told him he could never. The only thing I want for him is to be happy and just be himself. Amanda if you hadn't talked to him the other night and hadn't come over today. I don't think I would of had this happy ending. I think Noah would of hid who he really is and just been really unhappy. So I thank you soo much."
Amanda saw the text come in. She had just gotten up to check on the girls making sure they were sleeping good and everything. Typical mommy things before she settled in her bed completely. She noticed that Olivia had text her back.
"Liv- I'm so happy the two of you finally talked. You have a really great kid. And you're a great mom. Liv, I will be honest. I was kind of wondering if Noah was, before you flip on me I will tell you why. It is because I am bi and I could see some similarities. And I think he figured it out as well. Could be why he wanted to talk to me., kids pick up on that easily."
Olivia had just put her book down when she heard the text go off again. Just the way Amanda was relating to her it made her think. Before she could reply Amanda sent another text.
"Liv- another thing cause I know that stunned you. Might as well come clean so to speak. Yes I have children with men, yes I've been on and off with Carisi, right now more off with him. I do have a crush on another person. I'll be upfront and please don't get upset or hold it against me but I have a crush on you. There's just something about you."
