Well we take off a few days later from where we were. Things are quite icy. Now we have Olivia dealing with Hudson and Annie's mom. And the stresses of the revelations from Amanda
It had been a couple days since they had talked outside of work. Olivia had respected Amanda's wish, though she missed hanging out and having the kids play. Olivia had confronted Hudson and Annie's mother since she couldn't get the parents together. She was walking into work when she shouted into her phone,
"IT'S NOT BOYS BEING BOYS OR KIDS BEING KIDS AND PLAYING AROUND WHEN ONE OF THE KIDS IS IN A CAGE BEING FORCED TO WEAR A COLLAR AND EAT DOG FOOD DAMMITT. THAT'S HAZING OTHERWISE KNOWN AS BULLYING AND YOUR CHILD DID THAT TO MY SON. I WANT YOU TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CHILD ALMOST HARMING MINE. I WANT YOUR CHILD TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AS WELL."
Olivia hung up the phone and slammed the door to her office. Amanda was just sitting at her desk doing her work. Amanda stayed where she was for a lil bit then she got up to go check on Olivia. She knocked on Liv's door, opening it easily
"Hey Capt' there's a lead on the case. I sent Fin to go to the morgue and get the info from Warner. I'm assuming he will be back soon to give an update. I wanted to let you know. And also wanted to check and see if you were okay? I heard the muffled yelling and obviously slamming the door."
Olivia who was still upset and hadn't had a chance to cool down, snapped at her colleague.
"And you find it pertinent to walk into my office. You barely knocked and I sure as hell didn't say come in."
Amanda looked at her. "Hey I don't know what's going on. All I did was come in here to check on you. Though I'm not trying to tell you what to do since you are the boss but we need to maintain some decorum and professionalism."
Olivia narrowed her eyes at Amanda "Who the hell are you to talk to me about decorum and professionalism Rollins? Anyway isn't there some work you need to do? I don't need you in here."
Amanda looked at Olivia once more "You know I came in here to check on you cause I saw you upset. Look I know I confessed something to you the other night. Something that I am now regretting. Don't worry I'll keep my distance. I won't keep you from the girls since they like spending time with you."
Amanda left Liv's office after that. She felt like shit, she had been open with Olivia telling her something that she felt she could but now realized she should have kept to herself. She had only wanted to let Noah know he wasn't alone and that someone did understand his feelings. She went and finished up her work, she couldn't wait to get the hell out of there today. She was upset and her feelings were hurt. Just as she was getting ready to leave for the day Olivia came out and asked if she could talk to her. She stood up and fixed her blazer. then walked to her boss's office.
"Yes Olivia? I've done all the work on the files for today. Nothing popped when Fin went to see Melinda so I saved all the notes I had. Now I want to get home and see the girls. It's been a long day and I need to have some quality time with my girls. "
Olivia looked at Amanda. "Well you heard my voice raised when I was on the phone earlier. It was with Hudson and Annie's mother. She thinks her kids did no wrong and it was 'boys being boys' rough housing and when I tried to explain it to her she kept telling me that Noah needed to grow a thicker skin. So yes that set me off. I shouldn't have snapped at you and I am sorry for that. I feel our friendship is strained for some reason, even though it's only been a few days.. We haven't talked outside of work and have only had communication about the case. "
Amanda looked back at Olivia "You're the one who told me to respect your time to process what I told you. It was definitly telling me to back off and keep my distance. So I did. You know I let you in to a very private side of me. Yeah a part of me did it for Noah but a part of me also did it to let you in and to trust you with that. Well I sure learned the hard way. I know I made you uncomfortable with my revelation. Even though you said I didn't. I know damn right well I did. I may be blonde but I'm far from stupid. You don't have to worry Olivia. I know boundaries., I happen to respect boundaries especially being an assault victim. I'm bisexual and yes I have a crush on you. However that doesn't mean I'm gonna make an unwanted move on you. For one I respect you, for two I want and need my job.."
Amanda couldn't take anymore. She walked out of Olivia's office and headed home. She really thought they had a friendship. She felt that finally the brunette and her were finally on the same level for god's sake she had named Olivia as the godmother to Billie.
Already working on chapter 4 and it's quite spicy. Can these two find their way back to a friendship? Did Amanda admitting a crush stir things in Olivia she didn't know she felt? How does Noah feel with the tension?
