Chapter 5 Waypoint?
Riku's POV
I watched as Riku blocked the Darkside's attack before pushing it back.
Then…he turned to face me…and reached out his hand.
"Looks like I made it just in time", he said.
I smiled before grabbing onto his hand and letting him pull me onto my feet.
"Yeah", I replied. "Looks like you did. Now let's take out this Heartless together!"
With that, Riku nodded before him and I looked at the Darkside.
Then…we did our signature duel attack…and defeated it together.
When it was all over, the citizens surrounding us cheered.
Both Riku and I waved awkwardly before looking at each other.
"Thanks for the save there, Riku", I thanked. "I would've been a gonna without you."
"Yeah, you would", Riku said sarcastically.
Then, Strelitzia ran up to us.
"Are you okay Sora", she asked.
"I'm fine", I replied before gesturing to Riku. "My friend came at just the right time to help me out."
"Who are you", Riku asked.
"This is Strelitzia", I revealed. "She helped catch me up to speed on what is this place when I first got here yesterday. Strelitzia, this is my best friend Riku."
"It's very nice to meet you, Riku", Strelitzia greeted.
"Nice to meet you too, Strelitzia", Riku greeted.
Then…he seemed to realise something.
"Wait a minute", he started. "Sora, did you just say that you only arrived here yesterday?"
"Yeah", I replied, a little bit confused.
"But…", Riku started. "If you only arrived here yesterday…where have you been for the rest of the time you've been gone?"
"What do you mean, Riku", I asked.
"Sora", Riku started. "You've been missing for a year."
As soon as I heard these words, my knees dropped to the ground.
"A year", I asked. "I've been gone for a year?"
"Perhaps time works differently here", Strelitzia suggested. "Or perhaps you were in some type of limbo state before you arrived here?"
"Strelitzia", Riku started. "Could you please tell me all it is that you know about this world?"
"Of course", Strelitzia replied. "But let's go to a place more suitable for talking."
…
We were currently in the apartment.
Strelitzia had just finished telling Riku everything she had told me the day before.
"I see", he started. "So to you two, this place in a kind of afterworld?"
"Wouldn't it be the same for you", Strelitzia asked.
"I'm not sure", Riku replied. "You see, I came here by choice."
"You did", Strelitzia asked. "How?"
"I met a girl who was from here", I revealed. "And she let me use her as a waypoint to get here."
"So", I started. "Does that mean all we need to get back in a waypoint?"
"It's not that simple", Riku replied. "Ideally, one of us would be the waypoint, but that also means that that person gets left behind."
"I don't want that", I said.
"Neither do I", Riku agreed. "Besides, we don't even know if we could use the same method anyway."
"Then…", I started. "What do we do?"
Riku began to think. Then…he seemed to get an idea.
"Wait a minute", he started. "Sora, remember how you and I got out of the Realm of Darkness when we were there?"
"We got out…thanks to Kairi."
