My mind was dazed and I could barely understand what was going on while I was waking up. I opened my eyes but I was still surrounded by darkness. I could not see anything, but I could feel the pain that was radiating around my body. I have gotten used to the pain, but this was nothing like I have ever experienced. However, my ears seemed to pick up details that my eyes could no longer understand. What I deciphered was my worst nightmare.

It was Feyre. She was supposed to be safe. She was not supposed to be under this mountain. I started to try to pull away from this wall, but the nails held. I could feel my skin tearing. I could not get to my Fae. I screamed, but I was ignored. I could hear the Attor trying to pry Feyre for information that I knew would get her killed. I was trying everything to get to her, but I stopped when I heard the words that will damn both of our lives.

"I've come to claim the one I love," she said so quietly, but I could hear it as if I was right next to her.

"Oh?" Amarantha asked.

"I've come to claim Tamlin, High Lord of the Spring Court."

Gasps spread throughout the room, but I was focused on the cackle Amarantha let out. Please I pray to whoever is out there please spar Feyre.

"This situation makes me wonder, have I been torturing the wrong girl for weeks to keep this one safe?" Amarantha spat slowly. "Oh, this truly is fascinating."

Feyre gasped "Tortured. Who did you torture?"

I could picture Amarantha's disgusting grin as she simply said "Why Clare Beddor of course."

I felt my skin tear as I am ripped from the wall. I am thrown into the base of the golden throne. I hear Feyre gasp, but I am so disoriented that I can't pinpoint where her voice is coming from. Then I feel her touch pulling me into a sitting position. I feel my bones relax, but I tense immediately as she says "Annalise! What are you doing here?"

I lick my lips. "You never could keep a secret could you Fae," I said with a soft sigh.

"What did they do to you? They said you were safe. They said you left and never returned." Feyre plead. I could hear the desperation in her voice.

"My dears," Amarantha said, "I am sorry to break up this riveting reunion, but would one of you be so kind as to explain just what is going on."

I blindly try to stand. I can feel the blood dripping from where I was ripped down from the wall. I can feel Feyre's arms around me. Despite the fear running through my body, it brought a familiar comfort that I dearly missed.

"When you ambushed the Beddor's home, I lied about who I was to find out what happened to a dear friend who was taken from her home in the middle of the night. You were just too stupid to realize that you have been played. Once I realized that you were looking for her I kept up my lie to keep her safe." I ground out. The pain was almost crippling.

"So you claiming to love Tamlin was just a pretty little lie, human," Amarantha said.

"I will do anything to keep my sister safe," I say softly.

"Sister?" Amarantha groans "Your sister didn't even know you were taken. She came for a man she barely knows. How does it feel to know that she doesn't care for you."

I stand my ground, but my face gave away my anguish. Amarantha laughed but turned her hatred towards Feyre.

"Okay, I will make a deal with you, human." She said, and I prayed in mind that Feyre won't fall into her trap "You complete three tasks of my choosing I will set your love free."

"I complete all three of your tasks, and his curse is broken, and all his court is let free. And remain free forever." Feyre adds.

"Of course," Amarantha purrs "and I will even make a bargain for your little sister as well. If she can survive while you complete my challenges, she will go free and forget all the hardships she has faced under the mountain."

I start to protest. I don't want to forget, but before I can say anything Feyre interjects. "What is the nature of these tasks?"

"Oh, where would the fun be in revealing those horrors. I will add another layer to our deal. You solve a simple riddle, and his curse will be broken. Instantaneously. I won't even lift a finger. He will be free." Amarantha bragged.

That was all Feyre needed before she sealed her fate and mine. With the simple word. "Agreed."

Before I knew what was happening I could feel the crunch of my bones and the sound of Feyre screaming in agony. I tried to get to her, but I was pulled into darkness far too soon.
