Tamlin's P.O.V

As soon as Feyre whispers those words my mask falls away, and I am tearing across the room. Amarantha will pay for all the pain she has caused. However, before I make it to her that silly human throws a dagger and it hits Amarantha right in the heart.

My movements slow, but I am ripping her body apart without thought. She might be dead, but she has to pay for her hateful deeds.

My heart lurches and I feel like something is missing. I quickly shift back into my human form and look around.

The room is crowded around a limp body on the floor, Feyre. I sprint to her and drop to my knees. I am holding her limp body, and I know that the missing piece of my heart belongs to her.

The other High Lords make their way to her body, and one by one they give a gift to this little human. This little human saved us. My human. My Feyre.

"I love you," I whisper as I hold her to my chest. Hoping this emptiness will go away. However, as Feyre opens her beautiful eyes the hole in my heart remains. I look around, but I don't see anything missing.

Feyre lifts her hand and cradles my face. "Are you-" I cut her off with a kiss, but it feels wrong somehow.

She pulls away with a soft smile on her face. She quickly looks around the room.

"Anna!" She gasps and sits up.

I look around. Oh, the human. The one who threw the dagger ended Amarantha's life. I couldn't see her anywhere.

I could hear the desperation in Feyre's voice as she continued to call out to her friend.

Rhysand steps forward, "Feyre do you remember the exact words of the bargain with Amarantha?"

She looks so confused and shakes her head.

Rhys sighs "As soon as you answered that riddle. Annalise was set free and forgot everything that happened under this mountain. I don't know where she went, but she no longer remembers the Fae world. She no longer remembers you."

Feyre lets out a sob and falls to the floor. I lift her into my arms and look at the High Lords surrounding me.

We all lower our heads in remembrance of the woman who is surely dead by now. With the types of injuries she received and no sight, she was as good as dead.

"We have to find her. She is the only reason I stayed strong during these trials. Amarantha would still be alive it wasn't for her. We have to find her!" Feyre says frantically.

"We will find her my sweet," I say softly. Knowing full well that there is no hope for her friend.

Rhys looks me in the eyes with hatred, but I ignore his looks.

I cradle my love to my chest and try to ignore the beast inside myself that is begging me to find what was lost.

I have no idea what I am missing, but as I look at Feyre's sweet face I knew it wasn't as important as the woman in my arms.

Rhys P.O.V

I watch as Tamlin leaves with my heart in his arms. Feyre is my mate. The feeling I have felt for her has finally been answered. I stare at the bright golden thread tethering her to my soul.

I try to shake the thoughts of taking her back with me. I look into the empty throne room and walk over to Amarantha's dead body. I stare at the dagger that Anna threw. Even facing inevitable destruction she gave everything to protect my mate. My mate.

With that thought in my head, I promise to reunite the soul siblings. I will find Annalise and show her how to dream again. I pull the dagger from Amarantha's chest and carry it out of the throne room that I will never step in again.

I left the mountain after a final conversation with my mate. I won't take her until she is ready, but I won't give up my dream.

The dream I felt was only reachable because of the strong-willed human whose heart was stronger than my own. The bond those two girls shared was something I saw in my own chosen family.

As I winnow away to the heart of Velaris. I am surrounded by my family, but I know that wherever Annalise is she is alone.

I hope that she survives long enough for me to find her.
