Chapter 17 Old Faces
Riku's POV
Strelitzia and I were walking through the city, but as we were doing so…the ground suddenly began to shake.
"Oh no", Strelitzia started. "Do you think it's a…"
"I doubt it's anything else", I replied.
Then, I turned around…and my suspicion was confirmed.
Another Darkside had appeared.
"Not again", Strelitzia said. "They didn't appear that much before. Why are they suddenly appearing all the time now?"
"I think it's because of Sora, Kairi and I", I replied. "The Heartless are drawn to the Keyblade. So three Keyblade wielders suddenly showing up makes them like a moth to a flame."
After I said this, I watched as civilians were running away from the Heartless.
"Strelitzia", I started. "Can you help the civilians get out of harm's way?"
"That I can do", Strelitzia replied.
"Then you do that", I commanded. "I'll take care of the Heartless!"
"Okay", Strelitzia said. "Be careful Riku."
With that, Strelitzia left.
I tried to fight the Darkside, but found that it was even harder than before.
I was knocked to the ground…and the Darkside was about to strike me!
But before it could…a bright light engulfed the area.
When the light disappeared, the Darkside was gone, and in its place…was a young man I had never seen before.
He turned around to look at me before reaching out his hand.
"You okay", he asked. "Here. Let me help you."
I didn't answer his question. Instead, I took his hand, and he pulled me onto my feet.
"Thank you", I said.
"No problem", the man replied. "I'm guessing you're new around here?"
"That obvious", I asked.
"Kinda", the man replied. "My name's Neku Sakuraba. What's yours?"
"I'm…"
"My my", I heard somebody else say. "Never thought I'd see you here, Riku."
With that…I turned around, and was surprised at who I saw.
"Joshua", I asked.
"In the flesh", Joshua replied.
Then…I noticed three other people with him.
"No way", one of them started. "That 'chu Riku? It's me, Beat!"
"And I'm Rhyme", another one revealed. "Do you remember us?"
"Yeah", I replied. "I remember you guys."
"If it isn't my knight in shining armour", a girl I did not recognise stated.
"Knight in shining armour", Neku asked…with a hint of jealousy in his voice?
"You jealous Phones", Beat asked.
"It's just a joke I made when I first met Riku, that's all", the girl exclaimed to Neku.
After she did, I looked down at her arms, and when I saw the plush cat she was holding, I realised who she was.
"Shiki", I asked. "You look…nothing like you did when we first met."
"Long story", Shiki stated.
"When did you guys meet", Neku asked, still with a hint of jealousy in his voice.
"The dream Traverse Town", I replied. "You might know my friend, Sora."
"Sora", Neku asked. "I remember him."
"Is Sora here", Shiki asked.
"He is", I replied. "I'll take you to him."
