Inside a castle a female pink hedgehog and a silver male hedgehog were staring at the Beryl when the castle started to shake. They heard Black Doom over the PA "Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill". The two stared at each other concerned.
Outside Rouge was driving a buggy through a forest, she now had metal heels on her boots and heart shaped shovel attachments to the front. They seemed to increase her strength as a Black Warrior jumped onto the side of the buggy and she kicked it off easily. On top of the buggy was Whisper who's wispon appeared to have more setting as it turned orange and she fired a rocket at a Black Arms tank driving next to her. Sonic flew past in his super form and went over another vehicle. He wore to bracelets on his wrists. One was grey with a green light and the other was golden with an orange crystal in it. Sonic rolled into a ball that lit on fire. He then dived straight down in a ball breaking the vehicle. Sonic then bounced back up and flew away.
Razor then flew past and onto the top of a tower. He kills the four Warriors on the tower, two more with jetpacks fly in but he takes them out without even using his hammer. Razor jumps onto the ground where Shadow drives past on his motorbike. Just behind his inhibitor rings on his wrists were two small shards. The shards glowed when he threw a spear at a warrior. He pulled his hand back and the warrior he hit suddenly crashed forward into two more. He grabs a Warrior by the leg and drags him along the ground and throws him at another. He throws a spear at any passing enemies and then meets a tank that Knuckles was tearing apart. Knuckles himself was wearing silver spiked plates on his fists. Knuckles tosses soldiers around and then follows the buggy being driven by Rouge. Rouge and Whisper both leap form the vehicle with the others by their side. Sonic flies ahead of them and thins out the enemies before heading straight for the castle. Laser cannons on the castle fired at him but he dodged the blasts. He hits the castle which throws him back by a shield "Shit!" "Language!" Shadow said.
Shadow was still driving his motorbike "Nicole, what's the view from upstairs?" "The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Black Doom's technology is well beyond any other Arms base we've taken". Nearby Razor landed in the middle of a squad of Warriors and killed them with his sword "The Beryl must be here. Black Doom couldn't mount this defence without it. At long last". Rouge flew past a truck which she threw a spherical bomb inside destroying it. She lands and takes out two more Warriors "At long last is lasting a little long, boys". Whisper was hiding behind a tree and her wispon turned black. She fired a black sphere which exploded upon hitting a bunker "Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise". Shadow drove towards another truck when he heard Sonic "Wait a second. No one else is gonna deal with the fact that Shads just said Language?" "I know". Shadow summersaulted off his bike and threw it at the truck crushing it. Shadow held his Chaos emerald and turned Super "Just slipped out".
Black Doom enters the command centre "Who gave the order to attack?" "It's the Chaotix. They landed in the far woods. The perimeter guard panicked" an armadillo said. Black Doom turned to the doctor "They have to be after the sceptre. Can we hold them?". The armadillo didn't look confident "They're the Chaotix" "Deploy the rest of the tanks. Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit may make them close ranks". He turns back to the doctor "Everything we've accomplished… But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough" "Then let's show them what we've accomplished. Send out the twins". Black Doom shook his head "It's too soon" "It's what they signed up for" "My men can hold them".
Sonic was keeping the castle's cannons off the others when he heard Nicole "Sir, the city is taking fire" "Well, we know Black Doom's not gonna worry about civilian casualties. Send in the Mecha's". Five Mecha Sonics fly away from the battle and land in the city in front of a crowd of people. They held out their hands trying to get the crowd to ack away "This quadrant is unsafe. Please back away. We are here to help. We wish to avoid collateral damage". The crowd instead of leaving begin yelling at the Mechas "Go home!" one throws a bottle of acid which hits the face of one of the Mechas making it melt.
Black Doom was speaking to his men "We will not yield! The UF sent their circus freaks to test us. We will send them back in bags. No surrender" "No surrender!" they repeat. Black Doom steps away and leans toward the Doctor "I am going to surrender. Delete everything. If we give them the weapons, they may not look too far into what we've been-" "The twins" "They are not ready to take on-". He shakes his head "No, no, I mean-" they realise the twin hedgehogs are gone.
Whisper hid behind a tree and turned her wispon back. She got out of cover and fired another bomb at a bunker. She turned away and heard the explosion however it sounded too far away. Whisper looks out, the bunker was still intact, and the explosion was ten feet away from the target. Whisper hoped the others didn't see that. She raised her weapon to try again but something hit her knocking her down. She groans and looks up seeing a smirking pink hedgehog "You didn't see that coming?" she whizzes off in a blur of great speed. Whisper stands up and aims in her direction but the bunker fires grazing her stomach "Whisper!" Rouge yells. Shadow hears her but is suddenly knocked down by the pink hedgehog who disappeared. Shadow gets back up and looks around "We have an Enhanced in the field". "Whisper's hit!" Rouge yelled as she kneeled down next to her. She took out a bandage "Somebody want to deal with that bunker?". Knuckles leaped down and smashed through the bunker while roaring "Thank you". She pressed against Whisper's wound stopping the bleeding. Shadow was fighting a group of Warriors "Sonic, we really need to get inside" "I'm closing in. Nicole, do you see a power source for that shield?".
Sonic was fighting along the outside of the castle "There's a particle wave below the north tower, sir" "Great, I want to poke it with something". Sonic flies up and rolls into a ball which ignited on fire. He launched through the ground underneath the castle and hit a generator. He then burst out the other side then broke out the castle "The Drawbridge is down, people".
Shadow ran towards Razor "The Enhanced?" "She's a blur. All the new players we've faced, I've ever seen anything like this. In fact, I still haven't" "Whisper's hit pretty bad, guys. We're gonna need evac". Razor nodded "I can get Whisper to the jet. You and Sonic secure the Beryl" "Copy that". They both then see a line of Warriors and a tank coming towards them. Razor tilted his head "They're lining up" "Well, they're excited". Shadow forms a Shield and Razor slashes it with his sword. It sends a wave of energy that wipes out the Warriors and the tank "Find the Beryl" Razor flew away. Shadow then heard Sonic "And for gosh sakes, watch your language!" he said sternly. Shadow sighs "That's not going away any time soon".
Sonic flies through a window into the command centre. All the Black Arms warriors inside take their guns and fire on him, but they have no effect. Sonic smirked "Guys, stop. We gotta talk this through". His lenses locked onto all the soldiers and in a second, they all fell to the ground with broken legs. Sonic appeared standing back in front of them "It was a good talk" "No, it wasn't" one of the groaning guards said back. Sonic run through the castle and found the Doctor working on a computer. Sonic knocks him out and puts a drive in the computer "Okay, Nicole, you know what to do. I want it all. Make sure you copy to Topaz at HQ" "Sonic, we're locked down out here" Rouge says. Sonic watches the screen as it downloads "Then get Knuckles. Time for a lullaby". Sonic turns to a wall "I know you're hiding more than files. Hey, N, give me an IR scan of the room, real quick" "The wall to your left". Sonic turns and he walks towards the wall "I'm reading steal reinforcements and an air current". Sonic feels the wall "Please be a secret door. Please be a secret door" it opened "Yay". Sonic goes through into a long-arched corridor.
Knuckles was tearing apart random debris as Rouge fearlessly approached him "Hey, big guy". Knuckles turns and looks at her, she stayed where she was "Sun's getting real low". Knuckles snarls at her as she kneels down and holds up her hand. Knuckles slowly steps over to her and gently put his hand to hers. Knuckles then turns his hand over and rests the back of his palm against hers. She then moves her hand and strokes his wrist and then drags her fingers across his palm. She looks into his eyes as he stammers back and runs away. Rouge looks down and smiles. Knuckles slumps to the ground, his fur flashes green for a moment before returning to his normal mindset.
Black Doom runs through the corridor of the castle but comes face to face with Shadow "Black Doom. Your names a bit on the nose for the Arms number one thug. Don't you think?". Black Doom remained calm "Technically, I'm a thug for G.U.N.". Shadow had an emotionless expression "Well, then technically you're unemployed. Where's the Beryl?" "Don't worry, I know when I'm beat. You will mention how I cooperated; I hope" "I'll put it right under illegal human experimentation. How many are there?". The silver hedgehog appears and throws a wave of cyan coloured energy which throws Shadow down a flight of stairs. He backs away through a door leaving Black Doom who watches Shadow run back up "We have a second Enhanced. Male. Do not engage". Black Doom crossed his arms "You'll have to be faster than-". Shadow threw a spear directly into his face. The shards on his wrist lit up allowing the spear to only knock Black Doom out "Guy's, I got Doom" "Yeah, I got something bigger".
Sonic entered a massive room where a dead Pinchershead Metarex was hanging above him. Sonic's sees tables that had robots that looked similar to his Mecha robots. Sonic then spotted the Beryl "Razor, I got my eyes on the prize". The silver hedgehog approached from behind and waved his hands. Cyan energy entered Sonic's head, his eyes glowed. Sonic looked up and the Pinchershead suddenly came alive and roared. Sonic fell backwards as it flew over him breaking apart the room. Sonic was suddenly in a new place, a rock platform in space. He looked down at his arms and realised he wasn't in his super form. Sonic turned around and saw the other Chaotix. Knuckles was lying breathing erratically with multiple spears in his back. Near him was a dead Rouge, Whisper was sitting slumped forward with Razor lying motionless behind her. Sonic then spotted Shadow with his Chaos Emerald lying in pieces in his blood-soaked hand. Sonic runs forward and feels Shadow's neck for a pulse. Shadow wakes up and grabs Sonic's hand making him gasp. Shadow breathed weakly "You… could have saved us. Why didn't you do more?". Shadow's hand fell back and went limp. Sonic stared at him in shock when he heard a screech. Sonic stood up and saw a huge Metarex army heading for earth. The illusion broke and Sonic was back in the lab in his super form. He looked around erratically and then made sure the Pinchershead was still in place. The Silver hedgehog backs away from him looking fascinated when the pink hedgehog appeared. He stopped her form going near Sonic. She looked confused "What, we're just gonna let him take it". The silver hedgehog began to smile. Sonic not seeing them steps towards the Beryl and picked it up.
