Caring For You

He grunted; the blood had trickled down from his wounded shoulder. It was his miss today. He had been under – prepared this time. He had been tipped by the underground network and was chasing one abyss mage earlier that evening. The abyss had just emerged from nowhere near the highest point of the city of Mondstatd. The fight between him and that pyro abyss only last for several seconds. The mage, knowing that it didn't have chance to win against him, had darted from the place and quickly flew toward Wolvendom. He always, always finishes his job, thus he glided to pursue it.

He was able to kill that thing, not far from where they landed; but one thing caught him by surprise. He had never encountered this type of monster. Wolf like creature. He managed to dodge the first slash. The second however… the wolf suddenly disappeared from his view. it suddenly reappeared behind him and managed to claw on his shoulder. He didn't realize until it's too late that the hit could also drain his energy. He gritted his teeth, the pulsing pain on his shoulder was ignored as he jumped with his pyro infused wolf's gravestone. Slashing the beast with the strength he could muster. That wolf was thrown to the ground, still it didn't back down just yet.

Dilluc managed to dodge the quick charge from that wolf and once again infused his claymore. Fire bird came out from his weapon. As quickly as it could, the fire engulfed the enemy. He let out a grunt, the wound must had been deeper from what he initially thought. The beast was burnt and staggered, yet still stood its ground.

The wolf roared, flew once again toward him. He was prepared to parry. Before he could, one anemo infused arrow had just stabbed the beast's head before it howled in pain and disappeared into nothingness. He knew whose arrow it was and let out a sigh of relief.

"Need a hand?"

"No…" A chuckled came from that person.

"Come, I'll send you back to the manor." The gust of wind quickly engulfed him. He was sent flying to the direction of his manor. The wind had moved him gently into his bedroom on the second floor and through the window. Dilluc though, glared.

"Did you peep on people? How do you know the location of my bedroom?"

"Ehe~, see ya!"

"… Darn, drunk ass archon… Should probably ask Charles to clear all his tabs…" He murmured but one thin line of smile had form on his mouth. He should really tend his wound… he was shrugging away his jacket, hissing when the ripped part of it brushed his opened wound.

"What are you doing, Barba- I mean Venti!" He heard a sound of yelling from outside, was about to summon his claymore before he saw one figure, a familiar figure of acting master of Favonius who was sent toward him in a flash.

"Wha!" He let an 'ouf!' when she was practically thrown into him hands. The lady gasped but quickly hold onto his embrace. In princess style carry, mind you. Dilluc glared at nothing but there was another chuckle that could be heard. The wind current that sent the female into the room had disappeared. "I will let Charles add more to your tabs instead!" He groaned.

"You are wounded!" The tone of urgency had just registered into his mind. He could see the hand of her which had touch near his wounded left shoulder. The smear of red, his wound still had blood came out from it, though not as many as before. With blood on her palm, she glared.

"Senior Dilluc! Where is first aid supply!" She barked.

The opened wound on his shoulder was being pressed gently by his junior of Favonius knight. Dilluc gridded his teeth when she touched those but it was not the pain that made him do that… it was because of Jean. She had begun to lecture him, to not going out solo in pursuing abyss, something like doing it solo will kill him in the long run, etc. She looked furious, on the same time worried about him. The red hair let out a sigh as he let her rumbling about it.

"I'm all right."

"Don't all right me! This wound proved that it was not all right!" She glared as she finally switched from trying to stop the blood to disinfecting to dressing his wounded shoulder. All while kept scolding about his reckless action. Dilluc frowned but was silent all the time and let her be. Until he let out a manly yelp when Jean tied the knots of his bandage a little too hard.

"Next time, don't do that." She huffed, retrieving all the first aid supply into the box. She knew her warning was useless but she had to try. "And tomorrow, we meet sister Barbara." She finished, she moved to put the box into the drawer where it was originally stored.

"I don't need it, I will be just fine, the wound-." He was cut as she had turned around and glared at him even more.

"Tomorrow, cathedral." Her tone had switched. She had both her hands on her waist threatening. This was now an order and not a request.

"… Fine…"

"… why did you always do something like this?" She paused and somewhat looked a little sad. Dilluc was eyeing her, shaking his head lightly.

"Abyss order needed to be eliminated, they are threat."

"Still, you can ask us the knight. No matter what happened in the past. This time, Lord Varka do thing differently."

"The organization is tied to the policy, also there possibility of other agenda by the higher up."

"But you can at least depend on us even just a little." He was about to argue but a whisper stopped him from it as he heard it so clearly. "At least, rely a little on me…"

"… I'm sorry." He felt a little guilty. Jean, on the other hands had widen her eyes.

"I, no it was not. Nothing!" She said a little embarrassed, that words were not supposed to be heard.

"… it's dark outside… stay, I asked Adeline to clean a spare room."

"No need, I can head back, it's not far. Besides, Venti can-" She stopped when Dilluc's hand grabbed her gently.

"Stay, it's not safe for someone; even if it is you, to go back without company. I will escort you if you really want to go back." The blonde hair woman looked at him then glanced at his wounded shoulder, she let out a sigh and nodded.

"All right." She turned around toward his wardrobe. "Can I retrieve shirt for you? Mind you?"

"No, just take anything available." He said, standing up before patting his pant. She took one white button up shirt and gestured him to let her help him. He let out one awkward cough. He moved, putting one hand after another on the sleeves. He was about to lift his hands to button but Jean had beat him to that. Delicate hands helped putting the button. The close proximity between the two was not a brother to her or she probably didn't aware of it. Dilluc however could smell the gentle scent out of her hair. A sweet floral smell that reminds him of fresh picked dandelion flower. He was suddenly self-conscious with it as he turned his head away from her. Looking far away into… the heck!

"Venti!" He almost shouted. The woman, as if breaking from the spell, blinked and looked to the window and found Venti. The ex anemo archon had been resting his hands on the window sill. We are talking about second floor's window…

"Ehe, do continue." He grinned, probably had been there since the beginning. Jean, realizing what she had done and what had occurred in those several minutes, blushed hard. She had just done something that was usually done by person who is in close relationship. Cleaning, bandaging, caring and lecturing her senior! Her senior of Dilluc!

"I, I was." She couldn't search for anything coherent or reason for her, acting that way but Dilluc was glaring as he summoned his claymore.

"Oi, oi! That was not how you thank your savior and archon, Dilluc!" Venti back pedaling on air with his anemo power. The red hair man was throwing his claymore while blushing. That thing missed the archon's head but barely.
