He doesn't know how to tell her, when to tell her, he just knows that he has to tell her before she finds out from someone else. He sighs in frustration: now he knows how she must've felt when she told him that his father had died.

He leans against the door of his glass office and admires her as she stares out of the window, her red hair curled down her back, the lights coming from the buildings make the window reflective, causing her to see him looking at her, a smile on her face for him. He returns the smile but it's not real: it's fake and she knows that they both know it.

"Harvey, what is it? What's wrong?" Donna asks as he walks towards her, stopping beside her. It's now or never. The Closer thinks to himself as he looks at his best friend, getting ready to destroy her world with just a few words from his mouth. "Donna, look at me." He orders her gently, she obeys and turns her body to look at him, her brown eyes looking at him intently, begging for answers.

"Donna," Harvey begins softly, taking her dainty hand in his and using his free one to move a lock of her red hair from her eyes. "your dad had a stroke and he didn't make it, I'm so sorry." Harvey says as he watches Donna's eyes fill with tears and her hands cover her mouth in shock, tears flow down her face, making her supposedly waterproof mascara drip down her face making her have cute panda eyes. Harvey immediately opens his arms for her.

"Come 'ere." Harvey says softly and Donna steps into them, wrapping her arms around his back and crying into his shoulder.

He rubs her back soothingly and lets her cry over the loss of her father, the man who's been a constant person in her life. It's several minutes before Donna calms and stops crying but he doesn't release her from his hug, instead he leads her to the couch, keeping his arm around her shoulder, smiling sadly when Donna leans her head on his chest. Harvey sighs as Donna remains quiet.

Harvey has never seen Donna as broken as she is right now and he wants to take all of her suffering and hurt away from her but he's not a superhero.

"Harvey?" Donna's voice is scratchy and thick with tears. Harvey looks down at Donna and stares into her brown eyes.

"Yeah, Donna?" Harvey says softly. Donna sighs.

"Will you stay with me?" Donna asks, Harvey doesn't hesitate for a second before replying.

"Always." He says And he kisses her forehead then her red hair before finally kissing her lips.
