Naruto: Regashi

Hey, Zora here, the first chapter did better than expected. I hope you'll enjoy this one as well. (I'm pretty sure the kids in Naruto joined the academy at 5, but I'm going too bump that up a year since Naruto himself is 6)

Summary: Naruto makes new friends and starts at the academy,

Chapter 2:New Friends, New Naruto, New Start.

5 months later, Naruto and Kakashi's residence.

Naruto was doing his average training session, which was around 3 straight hours of grueling training (for a 6 year old,) which Kakashi may or may not have stolen from a certain other hyperactive ninja.

Right when Naruto was finished, Kakashi finished making lunch. He sits down at the table.

"So, Naruto. The Academy starts in a week, do you think you're ready?"

Naruto while still eating lets out a small grin and with pride in his voice he says "Of course i'm ready! Believe it, Naruto Uzumaki is gonna be the best academy student ever!"

Kakashi just lets out a chuckle. "Naruto. You've come a long way since I started taking care of you, in both personality and strength. I'm sure you'll do great."

"The kid has more energy than most ANBU members, if he can outrun those guy's he should be fine against more 6 year olds."

"Say, Naruto. How would you like to head down to the park? I think your friend Shikamaru will be there."

Naruto smiled and gave a large nod, he had befriended Shikamaru on a day when Kakashi was on a mission, and Shikamaru's father was working with the Hokage. Naruto's warm and calm (borderline Kakashi-style lazy at this point) nature made sure they became friends Instantly.

Later, at the park.

"Naruto, I forgot. I have to go talk to the Hokage today. Can you find Shikamaru on your own?" Naruto just gives the man a thumbs up, with an accompanying "Believe It!"

Later…

"I said I could find Shikamaru on my own, I've been looking forever. I mean, other than watching clouds he doesn't do much."

Meanwhile, Not far away, a pink haired girl is being bullied by 3 boys.

"Please… stop being so mean." the girl cries, the boy's just scoff. "I'll write my apology on your forehead, that's the only place it can fit!" the boy's laugh.

Only a few feet away, our fox-boy sees this "they're bullying her for… her forehead, it doesn't look like a bad forehead, I guess I should help."

Naruto leaps out of the bushes landing In between the girl and the boy's

"Hey, you three. How can you bully her for her forehead, what's wrong with it!" The boy seems visibly angry.

The bullies' laughter only gets louder, the leader of the group says "Look how big it is you could fit an entire scroll on there!"

That one seems to hit the girl hard. And in her tears she lets out a sentence aimed at the kid defending her

"W-why are you helping me, you really don't have too. They're right my forehead is big and stupid…"

"This girl is doing the same thing I would have done before I met Kakashi, she needs a friend."

He just lets out a sigh, turning around he gives her a bright smile. "You're right, you do have a big forehead. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I think it's a good forehead"

The girl wipes away her tears… had someone other than her family just complimented her forehead? "Do… Do you really mean it?"

Naruto reaches his hand down "I'm Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki. From this day forward, I'm going to be your friend"

The boy's shutter, they've heard rumors about this demon, scary rumors.. "It's him…" the boy's decide this Isn't worth dying over. "Fine, we don't wanna bully the weak ones anyway…" they turn to leave. "Goodbye. Monster. Big Forehead"

Naruto doesn't let the monster comment get to him "Isn't the point of bullying to target the weak ones?"

Naruto Is brought back to reality as the girl grabs his hand and pulls herself up. Her tears wiped away, she lets on a smile.

"Im Sakura, Sakura Haruno. I'll be your friend too."

Later…

"Finally Shikamaru, I've been looking for you forever." Naruto pants a little (he's been moving non stop since he got up) Sakura hides behind him, nervously.

Shikamaru, who had been looking at the clouds, takes a simple glance at Naruto.

"Who's the girl?" he says, before getting up

"Oh. This is Sakura, she was being bullied so I helped her." he says with the proudest voice possible. Shikamaru just stared for a second "bullying? What a drag."

"Well, any friend of Naruto's can't be bad so I guess It's ok," he mutters.

"So Naruto, how's training with Kakashi been, dad told me that he's been working you to death."

Naruto lets out a small laugh. "Yeah, it's tough. But I have to keep going, cause I'm going to be Hokage."

Sakura's eyes gleam when he says that. "How can he be so confident…" "Those kids called him a mean name and he didn't even care."

She decides to speak up, and with a tinge of nervousness in her voice she says "N-Naruto, do you really think you can become Hokage?"

He looks at her and thinks a little. "Yeah, believe it. Naruto Uzumaki will become Hokage... I'm sure you have a dream, right Sakura?"

Sakura looks down, I don't know, I just want to make new friends and I want people to stop calling me weak."

"See Sakura! I know you can accomplish your dream!"

"How do you know that... "

"Cause I'll Help you along the way"

One Week Later...

"Naruto! You really shouldn't be late…" Kakashi said as he got up from the table.

"Although I guess he developed that from these months with me"

Naruto had his breakfast down In mere seconds as he scrambled to get everything ready "I can't be late for my first day!"

"Come on… he should only on attendance right now, I CAN MAKE IT!"

Meanwhile, at the academy.

"Sakura Haruno."

"Here"

"Kiba Inuzuka"

"You know it!" A boy with a fur coat and a dog on his head says.

Shikamaru just looks at the window. "I can't believe that troublesome kid's going to be late for our first day at the academy." he mumbles so the teacher can't hear him.

Sakura just lets out a sigh. "I warned him to be here on time. He just has to do things his own way." Shikamaru laughs "Naruto certainly broke her out of her shell fast."

Ino Yamanaka, a blonde girl who's friends with Shikamaru and Sakura is puzzled. "Who are you two talking about?"

Shikamaru just laughs.

"Is Naruto Uzumaki here?."

...

"NARUTO UZUMAKI" Iruka lets out a disappointed mumble "It's Kakashi's kid, I should have expected this,"

"DON"T COUNT ME OUT YET SENSEI"

Naruto bursts into the room, wearing his new uniform (Basically Boruto's uniform, but with red instead of purple. And a red Uzumaki swirl on the back.)

Iruka just resigned himself. "Naruto, you barely made it here on time, don't be late again."

Naruto bows while taking In a big breath. "Yes Sir!"

He walks over to an open spot next to Sakura, she giggles. "Naruto… I told you not to be late, did you do it on purpose?"

Naruto laughs, "I mean, I could have walked in the room normally, but then I might have actually been late!"

Ino is still puzzled. "When did Sakura make a new friend?" She whispers over to Shikamaru "Who's he?"

Shikamaru lets a grin on his face, "Naruto, the number one Prodigy Idiot"

Naruto didn't have time to prepare himself when walking into the room, would people still hate him?

That day, Naruto changed from his old uniform to his new one seemed to change history Itself. The moment he stepped into the room he could tell things were odd, some girls fell in love the moment he showed up, some guy's were interested on who this kid would be, some people who had been told rumors of the Nine-Tailed fox were frightened by the boy's inclusion."

Iruka cleared his throat "Well then... We should probably get started."

Omake: Custom Design

"Naruto, I have a gift for you." Naruto gleamed at the box Kakashi was holding

"Ooh ooh, is it something cool?"

Kakashi pats his head "Yes Naruto, now. If you remember when we went to get you new clothes, we never actually bought your normal uniform, correct?"

"Yeah… you said that everything was ugly and the store just didn't have the right stuff"

"Correct Naruto. So I called up some old friends and had a costume specially made for you."

Naruto beamed pure warm energy and he gave Kakashi a big hug. "Thank you. Thank you Thank you!"

Kakashi returned his hug and eye-smiled "Calm down, Naruto you haven't even seen it yet…"

Naruto ripped it right open and was nearly brought to tears when he sees the costume.

"It's so cool!"

"Thank you Kakashi, you're the best!"

"I know, I know

Zora: I hope you enjoyed the chapter, I know I could have gone deeper into Naruto's training. But let me just say he's basically just… better in general. This chapter was tough to do, but I'm excited for the next one.
