Chapter 7
James and Lily told Harry about what to expect at Gringotts and their plan on how to handle everything. Harry was nervous but at the same time excited, he'd never done something so important and dramatic.
He told them as much to which James answered, "You are the son of a Marauder, get used to having drama in your life", waving his hand, causing both Lily and Harry to laugh.
At 11:30 am Mipsy reappeared with formal black shoes charmed to fit Harry in the same way as the clothes. Being the Potters' son and the primary beneficiary of the will, he could go a little earlier to get a better understanding of things. He put on the shoes and looking towards the portrait found his parents smiling at him reassuringly. He smiled back and touched the crest to reduce the size of the portrait again and put it in his robe pocket.
Harry took Mipsy's hand and she popped him to the Apparation Room of the Gringotts. He looked around him, there were a few people apparating in and out of there. He remembered his father's words about holding himself with pride and confidence and straightened his back and raised his chin.
A goblin entered the room with a guard, who held what appeared to be a razor-sharp sword in his hand, following him. People stopped to see who it was that a senior goblin himself had come to escort.
The goblin's eyes scanned the room and came to a halt when they spotted Harry. Harry realized that the goblin must be the Potter account manager, Steelgrip, his father had told him about. He turned towards Mipsy as Steelgrip approached him and said, "Mipsy, you can go back to the manor, I'll call you if need to".
"Okay, Young Master", she chirped and popped away.
The people around had noticed that the goblin was moving towards a child. A woman, probably in her thirties, saw his scar and gasped, her purse falling down in excitement. "Merlin, He's Harry Potter!", she exclaimed.
There was a collective gasp throughout the room and he heard his name being repeated multiple times, with people trying to get a better look at him but didn't dare to approach him as the goblins had reached him. Steelgrip sneered at everyone and bowed to Harry eliciting another gasp from the assembled people.
Harry bowed back to him and said, "Greetings, account manager Steelgrip. May your gold flow like your enemies' blood", hoping that he hadn't made any mistakes.
The goblin greeted back with, "May your magic be strong and you be prosperous" and asked Harry to follow him out of the room.
Harry followed him out of the room trying to look unconcerned, and not to squirm, under the gazes and whispers of quite the number of people who had gathered around him by now.
As soon as the door closed behind them, the room erupted in a noise as all the people started speculating about what they had just seen. It wouldn't be long before this news spread and the press got an air of it.
It was, as James had said 'his first of the many pranks that were going to come, as a portrait', while Lily rolled her eyes but even she had to agree that Albus Dumbledore was in for a big fat shock.
Steelgrip led Harry through quite a few passages before the reached a door with his name engraved on it. The guard took his position outside the door while the other two entered inside.
The office was a normal sized room with the granite walls bare except for a couple of swords and an armour on one wall opposite to which was a desk with a chair behind it. The room had no windows but was still bathed in a soft, if somewhat dim, light.
Steelgrip took his seat behind the desk and a chair appeared in front of the desk, "Take a seat Mr. Potter", he motioned towards the chair.
"I will, Account Manager Steelgrip", Harry replied, "but where should I put my parents' portrait?"
"You have Mr. and Mrs. Potters' portrait?", the goblin asked, shocked.
"Yes, I got it on my sixth birthday. It was charmed to appear then", Harry replied and took out the shrunken portrait which Steelgrip took and set it to stand, to the left of the desk with it's back facing the door, magically.
Harry touched the crest, and the portrait enlarged to it's actual size. Steelgrip bowed to the two elder Potters who bowed back and greetings similar to the earlier ones were exchanged.
Both Harry and the amazed goblin took their seats and he complimented Lily on her amazing application of the time dependant charm who thanked him. Normally, such conversation between wizards and goblins would be unheard of but the goblins had always treated the Potters with respect and they were considered the friends of the goblin nation because they had never treated them as inferiors and there was mutual respect among them.
Steelgrip turned back to Harry and upon hearing that he had lived with muggles and knew nothing about wizarding finances and heirships started by explaining to him about the wizarding currency.
"When you are the designated heir to a house you have to put on the heir ring of that house and the ring tests your compatibility and can accept or reject you. The rejection can be without any consequences or with some nasty ones", he explained with a smirk that showed his pointed teeth. Harry shuddered inwardly at the thought of the consequences.
"You can take the test to see which houses you are an heir to after the will has been read", he concluded. Harry nodded his head, taking all that in.
James cleared his throat attracting both of their attention. "Steelgrip, I know that the goblins have some of the best healers, I want a complete examination of Harry to be done for whatever fee is required", he said and Lily nodded in affirmation.
"I'm sure that can be managed Mr. Potter. It will be 50 galleons and it will include the treatment and first batch of potions if they are required", Steelgrip replied.
"That will be acceptable", Lily assented.
Harry still couldn't believe that someone was ready to do something for him, let alone spending that much money without batting an eye. He once again felt how great it was to have parents and didn't know how different, in a bad way, it would have been to live without them.
He was brought out of his stupor by a sharp knock on the door. He looked towards it to see the guard who informed them that Remus Lupin had arrived and asked for the permission to let him in.
"That decision will be Mr. Potter's", Steelgrip said looking expectantly at Harry who looked at his parents, especially the myriad emotions running through his father's face happiness, sadness, love, excitement and many more, and took in a deep breath.
He was ready to meet the man he had dreamed of, for now he was sure he was one of the people in his dreams though he still didn't remember them clearly, and start a new life with people his parents trusted and who actually for him.
He nodded to the guard who inclined his head and went to bring in his 'Uncle Moony' or 'Mooey' as he used to call him when he was a baby, something Lily had teased him about and he'd went a lovely shade of red, when they had told him about everyone.

Yes, I know it's a very short chapter and I took a very long time, but I've been really, really busy since my exam ended, honest! The next one will not be so short and I won't be so late…I hope. Please don't leave me *sad baby noises*.

Guest- Thanks 😊
Guest- James and Lily told him about Hogwarts, and Idk about others but those are one of the first things I'll tell someone, who doesn't know about the wizarding world, while telling them about Hogwarts or magic in general. Thanks for the review 😊
Guest- I had a white carpet in my room as a child but you have all the right to have your own opinion. Thanks for the review 😊
Guest- Thank you…I am trying to not miss anything 😊
MissCJC- Thank you 😊
PS- This is not for anyone in particular…it's something I've been telling myself too since I learned that one of my friends who used to create videos and stuff stopped doing it for a couple of months because she's an introvert and has anxiety and she got some quite 'not kind' comments on her work. She needed so much help to overcome it, even then it took her 4-5 months to do so. So please…please be kind to people, give your opinion but don't be rude about it, you know, using words like dumb, stupid and such. Once again, it's not about me, I've always been an extrovert, popular in school and all, so I'm quite used to all types of opinion but some people are not, so please be kind. I'm working on it too. 😊
