Chapter 2: Learning and Fighting
Togepi wakes up from his sleep, struggling to stand up and blinking in confusion while looking around.
What happened? was his first thought. Seeing the blue berry and moneys next to him, he remembers what happened yesterday.
It was not a dream, he thought. I really fight in this strange forest yesterday. All of it was real. But how? And this feeling? Is it...pokemon instinct?' When he finds no answer to his question, he looks around to find what to do next for his survival.
First, he notices that it stops raining but it was still quite dark outside. He doesn't if it's night time or just the cloud blocking the sun like yesterday. For some reason, he feels like it is the latter. Second, on his right, there is a small cavity that could be used as shelf. On his left, there is a small entrance leading to the same river that he sees the first time he arrives in this world. Third, behind him, the cave expands to somewhere he doesn't know because of how dark this section is.
What do I do now? trying to think his next steps. But the gurgling of his stomach, the thirst in his throat and the soreness in his body make him decide quickly.
Deciding to resolve first his hunger, he takes the berry next to him but hesitates to eat it.
If I eat it right now, our hero thought, I will not have food anymore and this berry is useful for healing too. He takes the decision to not eat it but doesn't know where to put it. Looking toward the river, a thought came to him.
If I plant it, then I will have more of it, the fairy thought. Walking toward the river, the egg pokemon notices the soil is moist by the river. Digging a little hole, enough for the berry to be cover of dirt after putting in it, hoping that one day, it will give him many berries. But right now, he is still hungry. But thirst can be solved, looking as the clear water, he tries to take water with his hand, doing it multiple time with how small his hands are but manage to satisfy his thirst. Noticing his money is still on the ground, he opts to put it in the small cavity. He comes to the conclusion that the soreness he feels is from sleeping on the ground.
Let's not do it again, thought the fairy pokemon with a sweatdrop. He figures that he should find leaves to create a bed. Exiting the cave, he looks around to find as many leaves as possible, taking time for it because of how his body. After creating his bed, he has a feeling that this cave will be his home for the days that will come. His stomach gurgles again, telling togepi that he is still hungry. But to find food, he will need to travel the forest again, knowing the possibility of fighting wild pokemon.
Yes, they were wild, thought the fairy pokemon.
Now that I remember, he thought, Spinarak spited some purple spikes while Pumpkaboo sends a dark energy ball. Maybe it's a pokemon thing. Maybe I can do some attack to.With this thought, he leaves the cave, trudging toward a tree.
Facing the tree, he closes his eyes, considering how to get an attack. Thinking that his pokemon's instincts can help him, he tries searching inside him to get the feeling that helps him out so far. After 5 minutes of focusing, togepi gets something. He senses some type of energy where his stomach is. Focusing more and trying to reach it, the egg pokemon sees some grey and cyan energies. Instantly, new feelings came to him, new knowledges that wasn't there before gain place inside his mind. Opening his eyes in surprise, vigor entering his body and still sensing the energies inside him. Staring back the tree, the fairy egg focuses on his memory, searching the new knowledges he has. Finding what he wants, he attempts to reproduce this memory without success. Yet instinct assists him, making togepi focuses on moving the grey energy toward his right hand. Closing his eyes, he seeks his target before imagining the energy flowing in the direction of his goal. Feeling it inside his hand, the egg pokemon opens his eyes, glancing down, seeing his hand glowing. Surprises of it but rapidly disappointed of the glowing disappearing. Doing the process again, obtaining his result before looking back at the tree. The fairy pokemon throw his glowing hand toward it and the result is instantaneous. An indentation appears in the tree. Awe appears before happiness replace it on his face. Wanting to try again, togepi repeats the process again and again until a hole become visible. Content with the result, the fairy pokemon turns in the direction of another tree, focusing on a second memory. This time, instead of the hand, he feels like flowing the grey energy toward his mouth. The result is a growl. Not disliking it but not quite what he expects, he tries three times more to know how to do it, thinking it could be useful to scare away pokemon instead of fighting them. Concentrating upon the last memory, instead of the grey energy, the cyan one flows toward one of our hero's head's spikes. Feeling his spike harder, togepi lower his head before ramming his spike into the tree. Not seeing the result, he backpedals, staring at a hole made in the tree. Seeing this, he thinks that it's a good attack but difficult to aim thanks to lowing his head.
A powerful gurgling makes its appearance, making our hero puts his hand on his stomach.
Oh crap. I really need to go find food. But... he thought, knowing how to get food, he hesitates before hunger gives him no other choice. Walking toward the forest before entering it, his vision becomes black before showing where he enters the forest for the first time. 'Wait, what!?' thought the spike ball pokemon. Looking back toward the forest path, he can only gap at the weird phenomenon. 'Is there anything normal in this world?' thought togepi with incredulousness. But his stomach makes him come back to reality, having tasks to do. Plodding toward the entry, plunging again in the depth of the forest.

It seems the weirdness will not stop anytime soon.
Am I going insane? he thought. Well, even if his memory is blurry, he knew that forest didn't change like that normally. Or, seeing the weirdness so far, it can be considered normal for this normal.
Let's go with that, thought togepi, wanting to preserve his sanity. Lucky for him, he doesn't need to search too long, a pink berry is waiting on the ground. Spotting it, the fairy pokemon jumps on it before devouring it like a hungry wolf. His stomach is a little satisfy but it is not enough. But before moving to the next room, he looks around wanting to see if there is anything else. And yes, there is pebble. Taking one to be sure, he goes to the next room.
He makes the right choice because there is two pokemon, one a pumpkaboo, the other a zubat. They spot him right away. Throwing quickly the pebble toward the ghost one, it hits on its head, leaving it stunt with blood flowing. The zubat charges with glowing wings, but instinct suppress surprise and shock, leaving our hero prepared for the confrontation. Sidestepping at the right time to dodge, the bat continues his trajectory, not quick enough to dodge a glowing hand, sending it hitting the ground. Happiness flow into his body, seeing that he succeeds his new attack in a fight. But it is only brief, feeling danger behind from his instinct, spinning toward the pumpkin pokemon which has recover from his stunning. It becomes enraged before throwing razor leaf toward our hero. Not wanting to be sliced into ribbon, togepi quickly throw himself out of danger but wasn't able to dodge the fang of the already recovered zubat. Feeling the bit on his body, he stifles a yell.
But it doesn't hurt that much, thought the fairy pokemon. But instinct flares again, he witnesses the pumpkaboo creating a dark ball. Acting quickly, the spike ball pokemon grabs the bat before hurling it toward the other pokemon. The poison pokemon hits the dark ball before being knock out with burns. Not being bothered, the ghost pokemon rushes toward our hero. Not letting its chance, togepi fire a growl making the pumpkin one hesitates. Noticing his chance, the fairy decides using cyan power, having one of his spikes glowing, he runs toward his target, empaling it. Backpedaling to see the result, the pumpkaboo is knock out from pain with a hole on his body, bloods flowing freely.
Adrenaline leaving his body, the egg pokemon slumps on the ground panting hard. Conscious of what he has done to the pumpkin one, he becomes ill, face becoming green.
Did I kill it? thought the boy with terror. And yet instinct squashes those feeling, remember him of their wildness and their dangerousness.
After some time, our young hero decides to stand up before moving to the next room, promising himself to get stronger to not kill other pokemon. He is greeted with a pink seed next a corner with the stone stairs on in his left. Going for the seed first, he discerns white wave pattern on it with a dragon fruit shape. Taking it before proceeding toward the stairs and experiencing the same blackout.

Even the second floor is totally different, I pray that the number of floors doesn't change, thought togepi with some alarm. Proceeding through the floor, he meets no interference, only an apple that he eats quickly, satisfying greatly his stomach. With hunger reduced and his strength coming back, he strides toward the next stairs without problem.

The first that happened when he attains the third floor is to be tackled on the ground. Turning his head toward his assailant, he looks at a spinarak ready to bite him with dark green glowing fang. Quickly acting, he back-hand slaps the spider before putting distances between them. But the fairy was forced to jumps to the side when instinct flare seeing strings cross where he was before. Our hero uses his growl attack to stop his opponent in his charge but it dodges before jumping the air, coming at our hero with another glowing fang attack. Rolling under the spider, the egg pokemon has just enough time to jumps behind tree wall, evading purple spike. He analyses his opponent's movement in his head, recollecting how it has dodged his growl attack.
It is stronger than the other wild pokemon! the fairy pokemon there is no place to dodge in this corridor, the fairy runs to the next time and jumping to the left just in time when entering it. The spike ball pokemon begin to be tired, panting but there is no time to relax for him. Preparing a glowing hand before delivering it when the spinarak enter, sending it away hitting the ground. Seeing the corridor for the next room, the egg pokemon move toward it without letting his guard down. The poison/insect pokemon has recovered, becoming enraged by what his prey has done. The spider's shadow darkens before stretching toward our hero too surprise to move. When it passes under the fairy, it hit his back making him fall on his stomach. Not letting his prey recovering, the spinarak shoots strings, immobilizing togepi before following with purple spikes.
The pain was too much, a scream tore through his throat, the borders of his vision darkening, blood flowing for the tiny hole on his body. Looking at his opponent walking toward him, he has only one thought, Is it the end for me? Before seeing the pink seed still in his left hand. Noticing he can move a little, he prays that his next move will save him. Throwing the seed with the last strength, his aggressor surprises that its prey can still move. This surprise is its downfall, because the seed when hitting it release pink cloud, making it doze off. Impossible to fight the sleep, the spinarak fall asleep on the ground. Witnessing his assailant on the ground asleep, he frees himself from his prison before standing up to move quickly to the next room ignoring the pain, leaving a blood trail behind him.
Entering the last room, the fairy falls on his back with all adrenaline his body, leaving our hero panting hard. Looking at the strange black sky, euphoria enters his mind.
I'm alive. I'm alive! thought repeatedly the white pokemon. He doesn't move at all until he feels his pain going away. Looking down his body, he sees that his wound begins to heal.
Should I be surprise? was his only thought. But he decides to not take too much time, not knowing when the spider pokemon will wake up. Inspecting the room, he spots the stairs at the up left corner of the room with an apple a little to the right. Taking quickly the apple before moving to the stairs, experiencing the last black out of the day.

Finding himself on the road leading toward the cave, togepi plods toward his home wanting to fall asleep. When arriving, he notices the berry he plants had already grows a sprout. Delightful that he will have new berries quicker than he thinks, he puts his new apple next to his money. He notices his environment becoming darker and colder making him thinks than night will come.
Did I really take a day to travel the forest? thought the perplexed this thought in the weird box in his mind, he looks around to get woods, leaves and stones to create a fire. After gathering the woods and leaves inside a hole dig before his new bed, he begins to scratch the stones again one another to create spark. It takes a few attempts before succeeding.
He lays down on his bed, looking at the ceiling, thinking back to his journey.
First there is pumpkaboo, our hero thought, I was feeling ill before this feeling was squashed. Like it's normal for pokemon to fight like that. And then spinarak, it was so close, I nearly died,He turns his head toward the fire, If I want to survive, I must become stronger. So, I will not fall again in those situations again. Making his promise, he closes his eyes before falling asleep.

AN: Thanks for reading this chapter, I'm sorry if this is shorter but the next one will be longer because there will be new element of the story that will come.
For those that want to know about the grey and cyan energy, they represent the moves type, grey being normal type and cyan being flying type.
Togepi moves are: Pound, Growl, Peck
Yes, he can learn Peck from one of his parents.
Togepi is strong like Brock's Happiny from the anime. But he is not OP because the wild pokemon are like much stronger. That why pumpkaboo can use ShadowBall and Spinarak has almost knock out our hero. He is like a glass canon for now. But he will become stronger but not OP.
Don't forget to review and to follow.
See you next time~
