Unexpected Pairings: Revelio de Veritas

A/N Hello everyone I'm back with a new Ever After story! Originally, I had been planning to post it once I was done with my current project, but I've decided to at least get started and see if anyone was interested in it! For this story instead of the characters being in High School they're in the beginning of their second year of college! Which is why this has an M rating, and I will also be using some characters from my Of Elements and Therapy story including Rotbart! Now you don't have to have read the story to read this one, but it would be nice if you did!

I own nothing but the plot and my ocs which doesn't include Rotbart

Summary: Because of a rumor going around that Raven Queen might not sign the Storybook of Legends on Legacy Day, Headmaster Grimm decides the best way to discourage all the students from straying from their destine paths is by giving them a glimpse of their futures! Only this glimpse of the Ever After University Student's futures actually gives people a lot more reason to rebel. Secrets are at risked of being exposed, rebels are made to interact with royals, royals are made to better understand rebels, and new families will be formed. Let's see what happens when not Raven Queen but Headmaster Grimm accidently causes the divide within the school! Pairings include Raven x Dex, Daring x Cerise, Ashlynn x Hunter, Duchess x Sparrow, Rotbart X Apple and many more!

Milton Grimm pov

If anyone were to peek into Milton Grimm's office all they'd see was chaos, they would assume he had gone as mad as the hatter because of how organized he usually was. But the reason for why his normally clean office was such a mess was because he was desperately searching for something important. Something that would make things better at his school and return things to order. Order that was needed to maintain the status quo or else chaos would fall upon the fairytale kingdoms.

What if I don't want to take the pledge? It's just a question? Sure, it was just a simple question, a simple question from a student perhaps looking for some guidance. Butit was also a very rebellious question, a rebellious question from Raven Queen and even with the threat of ceasing to exist, Milton Grimm was troubled, fearful really that Raven Queen would truly go against the grain and not sign the Storybook of Legends. For what reasons Ms. Queen might be doing this; Headmaster Milton Grimm didn't know, what he did know was that this act of rebellion was very dangerous. Already most of the University students were talking about what it would mean if Raven Queen didn't sign the Storybook of Legends, many were rightfully outraged by the very idea, but a few were curious and wonder if maybe they shouldn't sign as well and that was alarming!

In all the years that Milton Grimm has been the Headmaster at Ever After University not once has anyone questioned signing the book. Though she committed many off-script crimes even the Evil Queen did not go against her destiny. So why now was her daughter Raven Queen choosing to not follow in the footsteps of her mother, grandmother and so on and so forth! Was she planning to be eviler than them? Or worse was she planning too not be evil at all?! Either way this was very bad and as Headmaster he had to do something and fast!

"Finally, I've found it!" Milton Grimm proclaims triumphantly as he uncovers the spell book he was looking for. In this book was the spell that Milton Grimm would need to help bring order back to the school, sure the spell book could be hazardous but, "Desperate times calls for desperate measures."

Normal pov

It was a normal day at Ever After University or at least as normal as it could be in a school full of different fairytale characters worried about their destinies! Ever since Legacy Day practices some of the students at Ever After University were confused about what they truly wanted out of their futures. And it was all because Raven Queen dared to ask a not so simple question. What if I don't want to take the pledge? For a lot of the students the question was unthinkable, unacceptable, or just plain wrong! For others though that not so simple question brought on new questions and many what ifs about their lives. After just a day it was clear that the students were becoming at odds with each other, so it was to no one's surprise that the next day classes were cancelled for an important mandatory assembly for all the students at the University.

"This is unhexpected, I wonder why classes were cancelled for this?" Ashlynn Ella whispers to her friend Briar the two of them like most of the other royals were sitting in the front row of the auditorium.

"Isn't it obvious?" Briar says while scrolling through her phone. "This assembly is clearly because of what Raven said during Legacy Day practice."

"Well, if Headmaster Grimm is formally addressing Legacy Day practice than I'd better get my mirror pad ready in case something juicy happens!" Blondie exclaims while taking out her device.

"What do you think the chances are that this assembly has nothing to do with me?" Raven asked her best friend Maddie who was sitting with her in the back of the auditorium.

"Hmm hard to say, there doesn't seem to be any narrators in this story to ask?" Maddie says with a shrug. "I would try asking the writer but that would distract her from writing this story."

"Well, never mind then." Raven says with a sigh.

"Attention students!" Headmaster Grimm says from his podium. "May I have your attention please!" He shouted causing the large room to go silent. "Thank you, now as you all know a very important day is upon those in their second year of Ever After University. I'm talking of course about Legacy Day, now it has come to my attention that some of you might actually be considering not signing the Storybook of Legends!"

Everyone in the audience then turn their attention to Raven who nearly shrank down under their gazes. "Ah, Hi?" Raven shyly waved much to her older brother's annoyance.

"Don't wave Raven!" Rotbart hissed from the seat next to her. "And sit up straight! Slouching shows weakness!"

"Okay mom!" Raven sarcastically hissed back.

"As I was saying, some of you seem to be under the impression that not signing the Storybook of Legends is a good idea. But you are most certainly wrong, you would not only be putting yourselves in danger, but you'd also be putting your fellow cast members in danger, and the future of your stories in danger. After all, once you've all graduated and complete your stories, many of you will start families and have children of your own. Children who will someday be inheriting your roles so that your stories will continue on for another generation!"

"That is so true, I would hate to think of the heartbreak that my future daughter would have to face if something were to happen to our story now." Apple proclaimed in a miserable tone.

"A tragedy of the highest degree!" Daring says while looking into his hand mirror. "If my good looks were unable to be passed down for future generations to admire."

"It is because some of you have forgotten the importance our stories hold for the future generations of all fairytale stories. That I have made the decision to have you students face who will be most affected by your selfish acts of rebellion if you chose not to follow your destinies." Headmaster Grimm continued with his speech.

"Who could possibly be more affected about the decisions we make than us?" Dexter questioned out loud.

"If I had to guess I would say our parents?" Darling suggested. "I know ours would act as if the world was coming down on them!"

"Some of you might be wondering who would be the was most affected by the decisions you make today?" Headmaster Grimm continued. "Well, students I have already given you that answer, the future generations of the fairytale world…or in other words your own children!" With that said most of the students and even the EAU teaching staff gasped in shock. "That's right, though this is an unorthodox method, I believe that some students would have a difficult time rebelling against their destinies if they were given glimpse of their future families that they are potential putting in danger."

"Well, that's certainly a low blow." Raven says with a huff as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Yeah, nothings more important than family and keeping them out of danger." Cerise says quietly from her seat.

"I cannot lie; this seems pretty harsh." Cedar said. "And even if I could lie, I would say that this is pretty harsh!"

"Yes, the Headmaster is certainly making sure to pull out all the stops for this one." Rotbart said darkly.

"So today students you will be having a once in a lifetime experience! For you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with your own future children for an entire day!" Headmaster Grimm explained much to the shock of everyone in attendance. "You will get to know these children; get a glimpse at the kind of parents you will become but most importantly some of you will be force to answer to the future generation up close and personal."

"Does anyone else think that this seems like an overly dramatic reaction to Raven possibly not wanting to sign the book?" Sparrow asked out loud much to the confusion of the students seated near him. "What no one else thinks that?!"

"Of course, we have!" Hunter proclaims.

"It's really easy to figure out what the headmaster is doing." Gaston Jr. adds in as well.

"It's just very surprising that you had enough brain cells to realize it." Duchess snarks.

"Headmaster Grimm, are you sure that this is a good idea?" Mr. Badwolf spoke out one of the few staff members to question the headmaster's decision. "Perhaps we should hold a staff meeting before-"

"I assure you Mr. Badwolf that I have already assessed the risk of what I am about to do! And have conclude that this is the best solution! And now without further ado we shall begin." Headmaster Grimm proclaimed as he opened his spell book. "Ahem, Pueri Futurum de Legenda!" Suddenly a cloud of white smoke came out of the book and surrounded the audience before moving back to the stage when the smoke finally cleared there at least three dozen small children probably no more than the age of four or five standing behind Headmaster Grimm looking very frighten and confused. "Oh no." Milton Grimm says out loud as he looks at the group of children this had not been his intention. Yes, he had wanted to summon his student's future children, but he had intended for said children to be the same age as their parents are at the present moment. Instead, these children were in their pre-pre-chapter years. Not wanting to look as flustered as he felt Milton quickly collected himself while this was not his intention these children could still be useful for his plans. After all, even if they were pre-pre-chapters, they were still the future children of his students. He took a step forward towards the group of small children and most of them took a cautious step back. "Hello, children I'm Headmaster Grimm." The children just looked at him in confusion as he spoke which made sense, they were much too young to really know about him just yet. "I know that you must be frighten right now but do not worry you are all perfectly safe."

"Where are we sir?" Headmaster Grimm heard one of the children ask, before the rest of the children began bombarding him with the same question all at once.

"Now children calm down please!" Headmaster Grimm shouts to get the children to stop speaking at once. "Now to answer your question, you are all at Ever After University!" Headmaster's Grimm's explanation only seems to confuse the small children further as they all began speaking at once again. "Silence children!" Milton sternly yells.

"I want to go home!" One of the children yells and that sentence is soon echoed by the rest of the children who are demanding the same as well as various cries for their parents or guardians.

"Well, this was a great plan that didn't immediately backfire." Rotbart says sarcastically while rolling his eyes as the headmaster tried to take control of the situation.

"Yeah, it doesn't seem that Headmaster Grimm thought this one through!" Raven proclaimed as she watched the chaos unfold.

"Well, either him or the writer." Maddie says with a shrug. "Oh no offense to you writer I'm sure you're trying your best!"

"Now children that is enough!" Milton sternly scolded. "I'm sure that some of your parents raised you to behaved better than this!"

"I'm definitely sure that I raised my children to behave better, Headmaster Grimm." Apple speaks out. "But we have to consider that they are very young, and this is a very unhexpected experience! Perhaps you would have better luck calming the children down if you told them that their parents are here to comfort them!"

"Thank you for that inspiring speech, Ms. White." Headmaster Grimm praises as said girl beams with pride.

"Oh gag!" Duchess says rolling her eyes at Apple's perfect princess act.

"Now children as I was trying to explain to you all, there is nothing to worry about you will be returned to your parents safely in no time." Headmaster Grimm explains calming the children down a bit. "But first I'm going to need you all to line up in a single file!" The children though still very skeptical of the headmaster and their overall situation decided they could follow his instructions if that meant that eventually they would be sent back home. And so, the children formed a single file line and waited, Headmaster Grimm approached the first child a small girl with brown skin, black hair and brown frighten eyes. As Milton Grimm stood in front of the girl a piece of paper magically appeared in his hand. "So it appears that this child's name is Phoebe Pea, daughter of Penelope Pea and Fredrick Charming!" He announced to audience as he pulled Phoebe aside. "Right than if Penelope and Fredrick could please come up to claim their future child!"

The students could only look on in disbelief as the daughter of the Princess and the Pea and a Prince Charming stood up and walked over to the stage. The two 'parents' clearly were confused only able to awkwardly glance at each other before making it to the stage to collect their 'daughter' said daughter upon seeing her parents nearly squealed in relief before running over and throwing her arms around her mother. Once the child was claimed by the 'parents' the headmaster shooed the two aside as he moved on to the next child.

Besides the fact that the situation was very awkward and confusing for the students at Ever After University, Headmaster Grimm seemed quite pleased with himself until he reached a girl with dirty blonde hair, pale skin and wearing glass sandals as shoes. Even without the magical paper appearing before him he already knew who this child's mother would be at least. "This child's name is Ashlee Ella Huntsman?! This is impossible?!" Headmaster Grimm shouts in confusion much to the shock of the students and staff in attendance. "Daughter of Ashlynn Ella and Hunter Huntsman!"

"What?! That can't be right!" Apple shouts in dismay as she turned to face one of her best friends forever after, who couldn't seem to make eye contact with her.

The whole room was silent for what seemed like hours, this had been truly unexpected. Every child before Ashlee Ella had parents who were in the same story, and either both were royal or rebel. This was the first situation where the child appeared to not only be born from a royal and a rebel but also one whose parents weren't in the same story.

"What is the meaning of this?" Headmaster Grimm asked glaring intensely back and forth between Ashlynn and Hunter.

"I-I don't know." Ashlynn stutters in a small voice while looking away from his gaze.

"It's your spell." Hunter adds in bitingly meeting the headmaster's glare.

"Fortunately for you two, we have many other children to sort through." Headmaster Grimm stated evenly. "Rest assured that we will be having a discussion regarding this dilemma, for now would you two please come up and claim…your child."

The audience was dead silent as the two had no choice but to stand up in front of the whole University and claim their shared child as their classmates watched on. And perhaps Ashlee sense the tension in the air for she didn't speak only took one parent's hand in each of her hands to hold and walks them over to the part of the stage where the other 'parents' and children were waiting. Ashlynn could only try her best to hold her emotions in as she saw one the other royal parents look at her in disgust and betrayal.

"Well, then let us continue on with no other surprises." Headmaster Grimm says firmly to the rest of the students.

The next five kids don't cause any more waves as their parents have an acceptable pairing, and Cedar Wood is the first student among them who claims the status of being a single parent to her son Birch Wood, though this is unsurprising due to her story. But then Headmaster Grimm approaches a young girl with pale skin, very dark nearly black-brown hair and glasses that cover most of her face. "The name of this child is Rexanne Queen-Charming, daughter of Raven Queen and Dexterous Charming!" Instead of silence this time the students started whispering among themselves on what this could mean. Though many students were still unsure what Dexter Charming's story would be, this was still the second royal/rebel child claimed today. Headmaster Grimm could only stand there in shock as the two students walked up to the stage to claim their daughter.

"H-Hey." Dexter stutters as he and Raven stand next to the other parents and their children.

"Hey." Raven says awkwardly.

Three more kids were sorted without causing much trouble and then Headmaster Grimm was standing in front a little boy wearing a bright red hoodie embroidered with tiny crowns that covered his head and made it harder to really see his face or much of his features beyond blue eyes and maybe light brown hair. Just like with all the other children a magical paper appeared in front of the young boy when Headmaster Grimm walked up to him. "The name of this child is Crimson Hood-Charming, son of Cerise Hood and Daring Charming!" This time Headmaster Grimm looked ready to faint.

"What the fuck?!" Apple White shouts in dismay surprising everyone in the room, just like Headmaster Grimm she looked ready to faint as well. "Headmaster Grimm, I hate to insult your abilities but this…this can't be right, something must have gone wrong with your spell?!" Apple clings to Daring as she shouts at the headmaster for the first time ever after.

"I'm sorry Ms. White b-but I'm afraid that this spell was done correctly." Headmaster Grimm said grimly. "Though I will be looking more into the spell itself later on, it is with heavy heart that I must tell you that this child does in fact belong to Cerise Hood and D-Daring Charming."

The audience isn't dead silent this time as Cerise and Daring have no choice but to stand up in front of everyone to claim their son, there are full blown conversations taking place as Cerise does her best to hide herself in her hood. They may be the third royal/rebel pairing today but they had now driven Ashlynn and Hunter's surprise pairing out of the water. As Cerise was walking up to the stage from her seat, she was suddenly tripped by Ramona Badwolf luckily, she caught herself before she fell and gained even more embarrassment.

"Watch your step, Hood." Ramona hissed glaring at her.

"Watch your attitude, Badwolf." Cerise hissed back meeting her glare.

"Cerise?! Are you okay?" Daring asked he was ready to quickly change directions to rescue Cerise after he witnessed their exchange.

"Yeah." Cerise says evenly giving Ramona a final glare before continuing to walk towards the stage.

After Crimson is claimed Headmaster Grimm moves on to the next child. Again, the next few children claimed didn't cause much issue, it is discovered that Poppy O'Hair ends up having a pair of twins one boy and girl respectfully with Willmar Scarlet the son of one of Robin Hood's Merry Men. Holly O'Hair ends up having a pair of twins one girl and boy as well who look identical to their cousins, but the father's name is left blank because he doesn't attend the same University. Melody Piper has a son with Alden Dale another son of a Merry Man, another surprise pairing was Humphrey Dumpty and Meeshell Mermaid only because it seemed confusing. Briar and Hopper end up having a son Skipper together causing quite a stir considering what that would mean for Briar's story.

Headmaster Grimm though tries to power through with sorting the children despite how much he now believes that things have derailed. He's nearly speechless by the pairings of Kitty Cheshire and Lizzie Hearts who have two daughters together (not twins) and Ramona Badwolf and Justine Dancer who have one girl and one boy (also not twins) together. Blondie Lockes ends up being another person who's child's father doesn't attend the same school, so she is alone when she claims her son Beary Lockes and Madeline Hatter ends up alone as well claiming her daughter named Tia. Darling claims a son by herself named Knight, and Headmaster Grim moves on to the next child a girl. "And this child is Dove Swan-Hood daughter of Duchess Swan and Sparrow Hood."

"What?!" Duchess cried out in dismay. "But I should be with a prince…a charming prince…a prince charming!"

"Ms. Swan would you please come up and claim your child!" Headmaster Grimm says forcefully not having the patience to deal with her outburst.

Duchess is grumbling as leaves her seat to walk up to the stage and Sparrow is surprisingly uncharacteristically quiet as the two claim their daughter. Another surprise pairing was Rosabella Beauty and Gaston Jr. who shared a daughter Isabella. After that there are only a few children left at this point and Headmaster Grimm finds himself in front of another pair of twins one boy and one girl. "These children are named Jonagold and Jonathan Von-White. They are the children of Apple White and Rotbart Von Schwarz!"

Perhaps the loudest gasp of all filled up the entire room after this announcement, even with all the unhexpected royal/rebel pairings Headmaster Grimm had seen today this was the most disturbing. He couldn't hide the horror on his face as he looked between Apple, Rotbart and their children. And after everything that Apple had to hear today it was at this moment where she couldn't take it anymore and fainted!

A/n and that's the end of the first chapter everyone, let me know what you think and if you have any suggestion for pairings feel free to bring it up.
