Albus Dumbledore, current headmaster of Hogwarts (1991).
" From the first time I had the opportunity to talk with the young Smith, I had a deep impression on his personality devoid of pride and vanity, why I could not avoid considering it as an out of the ordinary, a concept that was reaffirmed with each of his future actions. It was truly amazing, he had never before met a young man with a unique perspective on life, although if he could object his vision was greatly deformed, however, this small flaw was easily overlooked. due to his undeniable ability to find something to value in anyone, no matter how insignificant or miserable they may seem.
Who could guess the enormous secrets within the shadow of the young Hogwarts student?, During their usual rounds between the vast halls of the institution, the young man was able to keep a smile genuine on his face at all times, hiding a deep burden on staff on their shoulders.
Despite her best efforts to try to keep them deep inside her, the feelings seeping through deep loss were obvious. Amid overwhelming despair produced by the simple act of being born, he was marked by powerful danger that almost ended his premature life. It was precisely for this reason that he cannot help but surprise me, despite his unfortunate circumstances, these were not an impediment for young Smith to become someone gifted with great humanity and sympathy.
I couldn't help thinking about his future, from the day I met him".
"Susan Pence... Hufflepuff!".
"Moon White... Slytherin!".
"Emma Dobbs... Gryffindor!".
"Dereck Midgen... Ravenclaw!".
"Justin Finley... Hufflepuff!".
In the middle of a beautifully decorated great hall, the normal ceiling had been replaced by a beautiful night sky illuminated by the full moon between dark clouds, that landscape had been produced by a complex spell.
Under the firmament were suspended many candles that lit over the heads of the young magicians lined up between the tables of the great dining room, which filled the atmosphere with discordant feelings between great curiosity and expectation.
In front of them a wrinkled hat with a large mouth that opens from the edges, squirms restlessly on a bench singing from time to time as it is squeezed by some intrepid little wizards when they were selected among the four houses, letting out a strange laugh on every occasion.
One by one the names of the new students were pronounced to later walk to the classification area where they were assigned to a house by that unique hat. To later be cheered to numerous warm or perfunctory applause, as they headed to a particular section in the downstairs seats where they were greeted by advanced students.
Incredible as it may seem at least during the selection ceremony, the Gryffindor and Slytherin houses, which were naturally displeased with each other, would maintain a relatively harmonious atmosphere.
All the new students who were waiting in the middle of the room for their own selection ceremony, were nervous or expectant when watching other people put on the selection hat, to later walk towards the seat of the corresponding academy before the funny tone of the hat.
But somehow, among the rest of the new students not yet selected, there was a young man with a graceful figure, his gaze seemingly out of place.
Just a few moments ago he had regained consciousness about himself, now he was looking without understanding everything around him, puzzled he was examining the beautiful decorations of the huge hall. Finding it funny how it was possible that many candles could be suspended in the air, not to mention the ceiling being replaced with a starry sky.
Despite the candlelight, the bright lights of the corridor illuminated the enormous confines of the auditorium, everything in the great hall was bright, so it was possible to observe some ghosts with translucent appearances flying everywhere, some looking with joy and expectations at the current selection ceremony.
It was due to all these unusual events occurring simultaneously, allowing the young man to adapt to the environment gradually, although around him the echo produced by the cheers of his companions overshadowed his own thoughts it took a long time before he muttered to himself.
"Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?"
"This is strange, why can't I remember anything?" It was difficult to explain, but the young man was in the middle of a state of introspection, overwhelmed by a large number of memories and thoughts completely disordered with each other.
Without being able to oppose his heart, he ended up being overwhelmed with contradictory feelings produced by unknown memories, producing different sensations, some were warm, others were dark, but in the end, that did not matter, because there were too many that ended up overwhelming him.
In the middle of all the impressions, he was slowly regaining consciousness of the familiar and alien sensations produced by everything around him, although not enough to be able to distinguish the strong female voice that echoed throughout the great room.
"Shirou Smith!".
Professor Minerva McGonagall rose from her seat at one of the four tables, approaching the sorting area, where she took the parchment again, looking at it again, but waited a long time, puzzled as she looked among the new students, of whom none of them stood. He had presided over the selection area, so he frowned and said aloud again.
"Shirou Smith!".
Not even noticing any movement among the first-year students for a long time, so even now Headmaster Dumbledore cast a suspicious look among the students, as well as among the Advanced-grade students among the four houses started talking privately.
"Who is ...? What the hell is that Smith thinking? Is he someone with such bravery?"
"He is perhaps a young student who has decided to take the wrong path from the beginning, is that perhaps he wants to miss the classification ceremony, if he continued like this, he would not end up being expelled, right?"
" Shirou Smith!".
Still not noticing any movement among the first-year students for a long time, so even at the hour Headmaster Dumbledore threw a suspicious look among the students, furthermore, among the Advanced-grade students among the four houses, he started talking privately.
"Who is? What the hell are thinking that Smith?, ¿ Perhaps this is someone with such bravery?".
"This is so interesting ... "
It was precisely at that moment that the remaining new students found themselves under the examining gazes of the principal, the rest of the professors, as well as the upper-grade student body. Being immersed in such an unusual environment, they decided to have a considerable distance from each other, returning a few steps behind, leaving in front of the crowd a young student with red hair and golden pupils who still did not understand the reason for this new development. so, he had chosen to remain still looking puzzled at the owner of the voice who wore a worried face.
"Shirou Smith, please come on stage here!" Professor McGonagall repeated.
"Are you referring to me?" Still puzzled, Shirou pointed to himself even though he was in a stunned state without understanding what was happening in front of him.
"That's right, could you please come up here asap? The selection event will be held to decide the most suitable house for you, just like others have done before ... There are still quite a few new students left. need to be solved so we must hurry. "Perhaps because Shirou Smith was a freshman, Professor McGonagall with her long educational experience, did not look angry at all even though it was the fourth time she had called, arguing the previous performance of the student for being too nervous to act.
Before Shirou could react, he felt that he was being pushed slightly forward, still stunned, he looked at the rest of the classmates behind him who had not yet been selected to look at him with bitterness, to later change his gaze to the rest of the advanced course student who did it. They looked on with concern, again the unselected first-rate students in the front row unexpectedly pushed him onto the stage looking at him amid unspoken understanding.
For some reason he felt that the luck on his person was too low to be considered, so he surrendered to the gaze of his companions, so he walked forward still with doubt.
"Alright little one, come here soon...", Professor McGonagall took a step forward, guiding Shirou taking him by the shoulders offering to take a seat on the bench, taking the sorting hat, and gently pressing it on Shirou's head.
The Sorting Hat took place, slowly began to rotate his body in a leisurely way on Shirou's head, although the young man remained static waiting for something to happen, for a whole minute nothing had happened, so he slowly began to worry, on the other hand, the hat responded to him in a funny way.
"Hey kid, don't be too shy, you're not the first person to feel nervous in the middle of such a place ... So you must believe me, with the wrinkles in the leather of the hat pretending to be eyes were slowly narrowing ... The selection doesn't hurt at all!".
Despite his best efforts to be relaxed, Shirou could help but feel astonished by the hat's childish attitude, as well as being very curious about the hat's voice which was dialoguing with him inside his head, however, he couldn't help himself. thinking about the new place where he was in the middle of complete strangers, so he could not help having some guesses about his current situation which was becoming more and more remote from what could be called normal, to the point of being completely unbelievable.
"It is my first time since I was created that a young wizard performs the selection ceremony without knowing at all about the existence of Hogwarts".
"Hogwarts?" Shirou asked confused.
"That's a right young wizard, Hogwarts is the best school of wizardry and wizardry in the world," replied the hat proudly.
"Is it a magical place where magic is taught?".
"Indeed, my young Smith, Hogwarts is a school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, specifically it is a British wizarding school, located in the Highlands of Scotland".
"Incredible!", Shirou replied reflecting on this new information.
"You must feel lucky! You were selected to study at this prestigious school, I can understand that you do not remember having received a letter from the headmaster more than a month ago, explaining the reasons why you have the opportunity to enter Hogwarts where you will learn about the most important branches of magic".
Shirou replied with unspoken silence upon being exposed by the sorting hat.
"I guess maybe you must come from a muggle family, right? It's not strange, every couple of years there are always some new students who don't believe magic is real. I understand their sense full of logic and skepticism produced by the muggle environment in which they grew up, reproaching that magic is really only tricks and deceptions, to the point of wanting to show that there is some reason why I can communicate with them, especially In the case of the last of them I spoke to, that little one imagined the possibility of being able to get a white rabbit out of me, obviously I reproached him that they would never get anything out, but in the end, he never believed me…", the sorting hat was making a joke silly, at the same time that her split-mouth almost stretched to the edge.
"Impressive! Difficult! This really is very difficult!", The marveling yelled from the hat completely silenced the whispers that had arisen among all those present in the room.
All eyes were fixed on Shirou.
Each one of the students except for the first remaining years had experienced the hat firsthand by having a mental dialogue during their own selection, but in addition to the traditional song during the previous selection, none of them had ever heard the hat before. say something else.
On the other hand, the inherent ability of the Sorting Hat when performing the spell of legitimacy allowed him: "to enter and know even the smallest detail of people's thoughts", this fact being unknown to Shirou, his instincts unconsciously warned him quickly about the actions. of the hat, so he instantly condensed his mind tightly.
It was perhaps due to the influence of the Sorting Hat, that Shirou's mind exploded in a sea of flames that was eventually extinguished to reveal a worn-looking book which was opened at pleasure and conveniently examined.
But from one moment to another the pages of the book were opened with such force, passing between sections of completely foreign new memories which were completely dispersed to the point that Shirou himself was not able to reconstruct them.
Among the most prominent, the image of an elderly magician with a noble appearance was resting in an old chair looking at the fire inside the fireplace, from one moment to another he had rejoined slowly approaching a small boy who was looking at a rusty sword, the old man smiled bitterly, apparently, he was teaching unique magic to the little boy.
The old wizard in his memory seemed to be around sixty years old, despite his age the unique bearing spoke of a noble lineage, with perfectly arranged white hair with a deep thickness that revealed some red locks. It was at that moment that feelings of panic, fear, and sadness hit her heart hard.
For the Sorting Hat it was also the first time that he had seen a young wizard with such a disorderly mind, but he was also pleasantly surprised that Shirou did not seem to belong to a Muggle family, however, he could not help but wonder, how was it possible that there were still children of wizarding families who could not recognize the prestige that distinguished belonging to a school like Hogwarts?
Furthermore, a large amount of cold sweat appeared on Shirou's forehead. Without understanding at all the new thoughts and memories that had been examined by the Sorting Hat, his mind was in complete chaos, nothing made sense now, this life, his life, was not reasonable at all. It was for that reason that he could only try to force himself to stop thinking too much about the subject in question and broach it later.
"Ahem...", Seeing that the sorting hat seemed to have an endless stance on the young man, Professor McGonagall had to cough slightly to remind the sorting hat that it should quickly end the selection of young Smith.
The Sorting Hat stopped thinking about Shirou's situation, to finally notice how the young redhead below him showed a slightly more relieved expression. On the other hand, he was still feeling enormous curiosity when carrying out his main task, about which house he would end up assigning someone as peculiar as Shirou Smith.
"Without a doubt, this is the most interesting selection I have had in my entire existence," The Sorting Hat trailed a long tone before continuing, "Let's see, Gryffindor represents the house of bravery and daring, yet you have the skills of a gentleman. With a thirst for adventure, you are someone really daring, you know? " The laughs from the hat only confused Shirou.
"I think you're really wrong!", Shirou replied with doubts in his voice.
"You underestimate yourself little one, you are someone really altruistic, disinterested, however, you have something that reminds me so much of my stupid Master, although I can attribute it to your young age, you still do not know the fine line between being brave and being stupid.
"Are you implying that I'm stupid?" He arched an eyebrow in clear irritation.
Deliberately ignoring Shirou's comment, the hat continued:
"You are a person who loves challenges, capable of defending the people you love, fighting with great stubbornness for your ideal, you are truly one of those who never give up, only someone with those characteristics could be called a true Gryffindor, someone capable of dying for those he loves".
"On the other hand, the Ravenclaw house is for the Intelligent, curious, but above all people who value wisdom, without a doubt you are someone determined to learn new things, you are very creative, however, you have other priorities that do not fit with the motto of the house: [An intelligence without limits is the greatest treasure of men], but for that reason, I cannot exclude that you think like a true Ravenclaw, someone capable of finding a way to prevent someone you love from dying ".
"That is why you have me in a great dilemma, young Shirou, the Hufflepuff house are fair, loyal people, but above all hardworking, I am surprised by your great patience in your training, the tolerance you have is uniquely comparable with my lady Helga, your always honest smile reminds me of her, you have the character to be a true Hufflepuff, someone who would die with those he loves. "
"But not least, I must say that you have amazed me, I have never before met someone who keeps as many secrets as you, I must say that the Slytherin house would wait for you with open arms if they were witnesses of your lineage, especially because it is very deep Of you, your deep ambition, determination, and cunning are so strong, which are slightly overshadowed by your criteria of analysis in the most critical moments, your role as a born leader is undeniable, you have the ability to do what is necessary by any means, although you still deny this nature, only a true Slytherin would kill for those he loves. "
A silence seized Shirou as he was enraptured by the hat's words, unfortunately, the Sorting Hat did not allow him to deeply consider his own previous advice, dragging a long tone, he suddenly lowered the level of his voice: "I must say that he had never seen such a singular magic since my creation ... "
"Do I have a unique magic?", Shirou was really confused by this new revelation, noticing among his previous memories when he was talking to the old wizard in front of the fireplace.
"Oh yes, an ancient and rare... unique magic", the Sorting Hat whispered as he kept immersed in his memories, "Of course, in my opinion, this is also a unique and creative way to use the magic of a very interesting way, although I am afraid to tell you that your weight of your ideals will define a future that will end in endless regret or you will finally achieve true happiness ".
Observing Shirou the Hat's decomposed expression, he only responded with resignation with a hint of longing, "I must say that my former master never made it to the throne… you may be able to achieve it on your own merit."
Shirou was in a state of bewilderment, completely immersed reflecting on the words that a hat, probably an object with a great legendary magic range, which a few minutes ago he had known had revealed a series of paths that led to different possibilities than never had thought. At first, he had not given so much weight to this event, the choice of hat could completely change his future bringing with it changes that he could never reverse in his life, naturally panic and fear clouded his judgment so I cannot help asking.
"Where should I go, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin?", The tone in his voice showed the seriousness and urgency in his question.
The Sorting Hat's expression changed, before sighing dejectedly.
"Although my decision may affect your future, it is up to you to decide the path you should follow, my job is to choose the house that allows you to show your full potential".
"That sounds great, but I'm not that confident".
The hat only smiled before recovering the humorous tone that characterized it.
"No, no, you can count on me completely, of course, there is also the fact of having an impeccable record of never having made a mistake when classifying a student in any of the four houses".
Shirou could only keep his mouth shut at this statement, unaware of the authenticity of this fact.
"I think it's really a shame, this may make you a little sad saying this, but Slytherin might be the best option for you, but you will really thank me in the future, my young wizard, so..."
"Gryffindor!", The Sorting Hat changed the soft whisper when speaking to Shirou, letting out a powerful and loud voice that echoed throughout the room.
"Gryffindor?", Shirou removed his hat from the top of his head, a bit surprised by this new development, and it was even too late to be able to show any complaints about his own deliberate evaluation by the Sorting Hat.
"Certainly... This will be so interesting! You shouldn't waste any more time, meet up with the rest of your new teammates!", The hat now rested on the bench in the selection area looking at the back of the young Shirou Smith who was gathered at the Gryffindor table.
However, while waiting for the next young wizard, swearing with laughter, he couldn't help but return to a state of righteousness and aspiration, "You can trust me, I have never made a wrong selection before, you will definitely achieve great things! Shirou Emiya, you will have the opportunity to become a hero who leaves his name in the history of the magical world, you have everything you need to achieve your ideal in this life!".
I must clarify that this is my new project, to be honest, the Harry Potter saga is a world that can be very well used, although of course I always had the intention of making a crossover, although because since a year I have not been able to update by Labor and institutional reasons, it is up to now that I have the task of finishing all my pending and starting with this great story, I hope you liked it, although it is only a prologue I have other chapters ready, so I would like to have your support.
To be honest, I have read other crossovers and other installments by other authors, however, I have always thought about changing some events as well as developing the characters more, I hope you like the project, so we will see where it is headed.
Thanks to the help in this unique occasion of my great friend Mr. Jorge, for his great work.
