Shirayuki Inari was a woman of many secrets.
There were many people which had sought after to uncover her secret, yet many failed to do so.
Her existance.
Her Origin.
Her... Talents.
Everything about her was kept in private, away from the gaze of the public eyes.
In fact, even her name wasn't that of a person called 'Shirayuki Inari', those were just her guise, Given to her by her benefactor in order to make her real identity remains a secrecy while giving her the chance to live a 'normal' life, a peaceful ordinary life – something which was considered as something that was quite an unfit lifestyle for someone of her status.
Wait till they saw she wasn't even human to begin with, she bet that everything would turn more considerably chaotic even faster than a fox could have the time to say yip!
Her small smile stretched apart like there was no tomorrow, as she giggled on an inside joke that only she knew of.
Back to the matter about her unknown background, there were a few close rumours that she came from an branch clan of onmyojis that had long since dated back from the edo period – the Shirakamis which worshiped The Arctic Fox, a specific Deity that many had believed to be somehow connected the Legend of Tamamo-No-Mae, another one of those rumours had described that she was a familiar or servant solely exclusive to the Shirakami Clan, which couldn't really be further from the truth, then there was a weird one about how she was an angel descended from heaven to spite the naughty children...
She didn't think too much about that last one.
Anyhow, she was rather thankful that her benefactor this time was rather kind enough than the one before them, which had just simply imprisoned her inside her room. While she may came off as rude to most people, Shirakami Fubuki, to her was one of the nicest human she had ever met! In fact, only thanks to her that she could have the life she had dreamed of.
Surrounded by friends and people which saw her for who she was, not for some weapon to use.
Truly, she wanted repay her kindness - tenfold even - if only for a show of gratitude for everything she had done for her.
Then, an idea formed inside her head,
"Ah right, Should I bring home some of those bubbly cold black drink?", she muttered while touching her chin with one of her finger, "Guess she would want one after all those training she did."
Shirayuki Inari remembered that her benefactor did like those fuzzy tasting drinks at least.
"Hm? What are you talking about, Yu chan?", Matsuri questioned as she took a seat right next to her, a platter of tempura curry rice as well as juice were on them.
"Huh? Oh, its just something I want to buy on the way home.", she responded to her best friend that she have befriended since the time she had enrolled in, "I am just thinking about what to buy her, since she have been helping me a lot."
Matsuri tilted her head at the compact and understandable explanation, "So like a gift? Present?"
"Umu! that's exactly it!"
"Hoh... Then can I also come?", Matsuri suddenly asked, her eyes glimmered with the sparkle she was so familiar with, since such eyes only ever met their use when her energetic ponytailed close friend wanted to do something which caught her interest badly, "I also wanted to meet this..."
"Fufu! She was my care–...Sister!"
"yes! your Sister! Wait you have a sister?!", the sparkles continued, "All the more reason to visit! Can I, Can I?"
"hmm, honestly I would also liked to invite you home, but my... Sister was a bit shy and doesn't really like strangers... how about next time?", Shirayuki after feeling guilty then offered another alternative toward a downtrodden looking Matsuri, moments after she had basically rejected her, "-I'll make sure to bring it up with my sister. That way I could get her permission first before doing anything else that will put me in... uh, bad side of her...?", she ended her own sentence with a question in the end as if she wasn't sure herself, that, as well as an unknown shiver that ran down her spine all of a sudden.
"Okay! I'll wait!", her friend all of a sudden started to cheer up again - it was like all that gesture and expression she had done before was a fabrication.
Yet Shirayuki Inari knew better, it was how her friend - Natsuiro Matsuri - was as a person. Someone who was always honest of her feelings and wasn't afraid to pour them out in the open for everyone to see, she wasn't afraid to give out her opinion and tell someone what she thought of them.
Hence why seeing her mood turned a hundred and eighty degree was a norm for her, for the most of the time the two were together.
"Matsuri, Matsuri."
"Hmm? what is it Yu chan?"
Pomf!
"Nade nade!", All of a sudden Shirayuki Inari put her hands on top of Matsuri's head, she then rubbed them gently in a show of appreciation toward her one and only best human friend since coming to Aogami High. Her giggles and wide smiles seemed like it wasn't translated clearly, since Matsuri could only fire questions after questions yet was given no answer at all, all the while she - Shirayuki Inari - continued her loving gesture toward her.
Unbeknownst to either of the two,
their special limited Kitsune Udon had long since gone cold.
Guuu...!
His stomach continued to growl angrily as he had not been given them any sustenance at all since he had started his small scouting activity, a small sized binocular on his hand as he occasionally peered into it in hope of finding something of a lead to his given task - something that Omegaα had said would involve the school.
'Just enroll to the school first', he remembered as she had instructed him, 'Stay there and wait for further instruction.'
Talk about a vague deal.
He pushed himself down as he then sprawled on the ground,
"What am I even doing here..."
The rooftop he was in was devoid of any sign of life other than him alone, an outcome he had already expected since the only way to the rooftop was once locked, before he then without any remorse picked it open and then claimed the whole are for himself.
Sagami Ichiei - finally, after a few good minutes of nothing within his binocular's line of sight, his stomach had gone on a rampage that he just knew would result in a bad case of ache later, had then decided to gave up for the rest of the day, seemingly rather interested as well as quite highly invested onto a special activity which had been discovered long since human thrives as a working society, an activity known for their therapeutic experience as well as a method of training to further the development of human mind, an activity known for its proven fact to be quite an unique yet relaxing past time, and that activity was, no kidding, was watching the cloud as it goes by.
Guuu...!!
"I know, dear. I'm hungry too.", He said to himself as he patted his own belly, he then nonchalantly continued his personal monologue, "Why not you try to persuade foot and feet to walk?"
"Pfft!"
A small sound came from right behind the half-closed roof entrance.
"...I don't care who you're and I don't want to know.", He said without even lifting his head to look over toward the sudden voice, he then added "Reason? Lazy, and sleepy. Also, could you laugh a bit quieter? that would help. Thanks.", he said as one hand struggled to stood upward in a butchered attempt for something not quite resembles a hand wave commonly used for dismissing someone.
Inside his mind he was sure that rude gesture would have made them leave him, however that wasn't the case as his ears then picked up the most softest noise of footstep he'd ever heard,
Gasha!
a piece of fabric suddenly blocked his view, essentially interrupted his 'cloud watching' session.
"...What do you want?", Ichiei asked with a frown as he tried to identifies the face of the rude - and wasn't that ironic? - person that had disturbed his time, yet there was no answer, not even a single movement from the unknown individual - beside her long hair that seemed to went back and forth along with the breeze. Also – no, he won't comment about what's under the 'mystery' fabric.
Which he had a full view at the time.
"Hello...?", he tried once again.
Silence.
"Just so you know, I'm having a bit of personal time here, so please don't talk to me.", he then finally said.
"Ok!", suddenly the figure spoke - her feminine voice chirped as she went back away a few inches from him.
He could feel her eyes bore straight into him.
"..."
Giving up at his already gone 'personal time', Ichiei finally decided to address the stranger, "Fine, what do you want?"
"I dunno!", she responded back at him happily, "I forgot!"
"...What is your name?"
"I dunno!", she once again repeated the same sentence as the one before, "I forgot!"
Ichiei facepalmed at her innocent reply, "Great, a blockhead...", he whispered as to not be heard by the girl.
Ichiei finally took a good look at his current source of suffering, having already taken a cross-legged position as he looked over toward her,
An average looking girl with brown hair that was held up by a striped ribbon into a single ponytail long enough that it almost reached her waist, her hair had either side of strands of hair that adorned her cheeks dyed in a ashen white color. The girl was wearing the mass produced school uniform - along with some addons like a small pin which resembled a cartoonish owl at the left side of her uniform's collar. Her amber eyes sparkled as she stared into him with some kind of unknown interest, "You!"
She suddenly shouted at him, her finger pointed right onto his face.
The girl smiled.
"Friend!"
[AN] : Ok, done.
Thank you for reading :)
About the naming thing...
So I used the name from Hololive ERROR Ver. with a very slight twist while still had the same concept as the original 'Behind the Scene', hopefully I won't regret it next chapter...
Oh well-
See you next chap—!
Omake:
She was a being not quite a human, yet still had a special connection with it.
Having since taken form, she had taken in to the joy of exploring the vast world all across the lands and seas.
In her journey she had visited many place,
she had seen, heard, and experienced many things that she had even forgotten a lot of them.
Yet, even though she may forgot them,
she knew that at the very least those things that she had the chance to experience - had once upon a time brought joy to her.
and that, to her - was enough.
The girl shifted her had left and right as she sat alone in the back of the room she was in, "she said that I would need to stay here and wait for awhile.", a small whisper came from her as she looked over toward a group of females that happily chattered away in the front of the room, "Something about sending a friend over, I wonder what she meant by that..."
She heard the sound of a cheerful laughter from up ahead.
The brown side-ponytailed girl - friend! - was happily chatting with the white haired one, occasionally she would comfort herself into the white haired one, while the person in question seemed busy yet didn't have the heart to reprimand the brown one's advantage, the two were surrounded by three other girls as they talked about something which she had to assume were related to their study.
Out of curiosity, she then dared herself to glance over one of the books in on the table near her, a thick blue book with a familiar looking symbols drawn on its cover, "Algi...algae...Algebra...?"
an unknown chill ran through her,
'...whuh?'
She didn't know why, but those words sent shivers down her body.
Weird.
Not comfortable with the almost all too familiar sense of dread, the girl swerved her head to look away from the now ominous-looking bounded stack of papers and settled her vision to look over the medium sized window.
The weather was that of a clear sunny day, as she could faintly heard the chirps and tweets of the birds behind a plethora of other sounds near her, "I wonder what should I go to next...?", she muttered to herself as she hummed a few familiar tones that she had heard once or twice in her travel.
Sounds of footsteps reverberated from the closed door next to her,
"Hmm...?"
In her field of view, she noticed that two of five group of females had gone missing - she also noted that the front door was left wide open - all the while the rough sound of footsteps seemed to fade away only for another more clearer one to appear, its owner then made themselves known as a tall figure with mop of dark blue hair and dull black eyes entered the room she was in.
The unknown male looked around as his cold eyes shifted left and right.
For a moment there, she thought that his glance had just landed at her, 'There's no way! I just made sure to made myself cannot be seen by normal people!', she then flinched as the door closed behind the him.
And then the unthinkable happened - according to her atleast - the male spoke,
"...Excuse me, is this Class 1-C?"
