Hello there! This is going to be a fan fic centered around the Boiling Isles Curse of the Blood Moon! It's a concept I though of after seeing some Rule 34 art and the first part of the Blood Moon Rising (?) fan comic. I hope you guys enjoy it! See y'all on the flip side! (don't judge, I AM Texan after all.) On another note, I am more than open to any feedback, ideas, or constructive criticism y'all may have, and for all intents & purposes, all characters in this are aged up to legal age in the US, i.e., 18.

Luz was looking desperately at the echo mouse, trying to will it into doing something, but to no avail. King was asleep on Luz's "Sleep Cocoon," just snoring away.

"Another day, yet no more information from the Echo Mouse," Luz sighed, staring at the caged creature, her gaze half filled with annoyance. "Why don't you give me another clue?"

Before she could say another word, the mouse's eyes shone, showing another entry from Phillip's diary.

It first depicted a drawing of Philip himself. The voice said: "In my many months here, I have examined many a strange phenomenon, from a lunar eclipse happening at the same time as a solar eclipse to random sink holes from giant sand worms in the stinging sands of the Hips." The mouse depicted the resulting descriptions, before changing to a drawing that looked like the moon, but it had rays shining out from it, much like the sun. "But in all my life, I never thought a blood moon on this decrepit land could be worse than all of the former combined. Whatever you do, do not go outside during one at all costs."

With that final note, the mouse closed its eyes and went back to sleep.

When Luz finished taking her notes, she barreled downstairs looking for Eda. Just her luck though, Eda was nowhere to be found. Luz went to Hooty next.

"Hey Hooty, do you know where Eda went?" Luz asked.

Hooty responded, "Hark, lady Luz, for the answers that you seek, look from the glass in her room, but just a peek!"

"You can never give a straight answer, can you?"

"Nope! Been that way for years, hoot hoot!" Hooty cheerfully responded.

With that, Luz headed back inside to look from the window in Eda's room that she always thought was just stained glass in the shape of an eye to give the house the appearance of potentially being alive. When she went up to it, though, she could hear a disembodied voice from somewhere.

The voice said to her, "What is it that you wish to see?"

"I need to know the location of Eda, the Owl Lady?" Luz said, not sure how this worked.

"The Owl Lady? She's out buying more supplies and food for the week in the Bonesborough marketplace. Here, I'll show you." With that, the glass shifted to show Eda pickpocketing some poor multi-eyed demon on the streets.

"Thank you, mysterious voice!" Luz said, heading back down to find Eda in the marketplace.

"I have a name, you know…" the voice said, sadly out of earshot of the human.

"Eda!" Luz yelled. She was nowhere to be found. She turned to a demon next to her and asked "Hey, have you seen Eda, the Ow—"

She was interrupted when the demon, who she suddenly recognized as the one Eda was pickpocketing earlier, pointed to her left, showing her that Eda was getting arrested by an Emperor's Coven guard.

"Got caught, huh?" Luz asked, but before the demon could give her an answer, she went to rescue her mentor. She used a plant glyph to ensnare the guard before using a glyph combo of some sort to summon a dagger made of ice to start freeing the Owl Lady from her bindings.

"Nice one, kid, now let's scram before backup arrives," Eda said, before whistling to call Owlbert. The palisman happily came to her, and with that, they were off. "Why were you in the marketplace, huh?"

"I wanted to ask you a question about the blood moon here on—"

"Whoa, when'd you learn about that? I will warn you now, don't go outside during one."

"I learned about it from an entry from Phillip's diary. He said the same thing. What's the big deal, is there a curse or something?"

"Yes, kid, and this isn't one that you want, trust me. It's horrible to have, and damn near impossible to get rid of. I had it when I was your age, but I don't wanna get to specific about it if I don't have to, so please don't go around asking. Speaking of which, I think tonight is the blood moon. Stay indoors."

"Heard that, ma'am!" Luz responded.

When Luz and Eda arrived back at the Owl House, Luz went up to her room to start brainstorming some ideas for a new Azura fan fic, and Eda went into the kitchen to get some apple blood from the fridge, both preparing for the night ahead of them.

"Should I do another lovey-dovey type of fan fic, or should I try and do one that's more action oriented?" Luz thought to herself out loud. "What do you think, King?"

"I don't care," King responded, trying to continue his nap from earlier.

"I think…I should try a bit of both!" Luz immediately got to work, thinking of how many different ways she could continue shipping Azura and Hecate together, with a dramatic twist thrown in the mix. As she brainstormed, the thought of the blood moon came back into her mind. What was Eda hiding? Was it really that bad? She couldn't shake the thought of it after a while, no matter how hard she tried. "Hey King, do you know anything about the blood moon happening tonight? I tried asking Eda about it, but she just seemed like she was hiding something."

King immediately bolted awake. "Don't go about asking questions you aren't ready for the answers to, Luz. Now, to get more sleep, I will have to go downstairs away from voices that could hinder it." With that, King went out of the room, shutting the door hard as he left to make a point.

"Geez, could it really be THAT bad that even King won't talk about it?" Luz mused to herself. "Well, there's only one way to get my answer. Keep prying until they break!"

But before she could go anywhere, she felt a burning sensation on her back. She turned to see what it was, realizing that the window wasn't shut, and that the moon was out! "That can't be good," she said to herself, before closing the window.

When King got downstairs, he saw Eda. He went up and started asking questions.

"Eda, did Luz really ask about the blood moon and you didn't tell her?" King accused.

"Wha—How do you know? Did she ask you about it? I told her not to!" Eda started.

"Well, she wouldn't have asked me if you told her in the first place! Knowing her, she's probably outside right now!"

"Well…Wait. Did you make sure the window was shut in her room?" Eda asked cautiously.

"I think so…" King said.

Before Eda could run up to make sure, they heard a scream that sounded like Luz.

"Well, we have our answer now. This is not good." Eda stated.

With that, they ran up to check on Luz.

"King, stay out here. I don't want Luz to freak if she sees you."

"Weh," King responded with a quick nod.

"Kid, you okay? I heard a scream and it sounded like you were in pain. I wanted to make sure you're fine." Eda started, erring on the side of caution before opening the door.

"Yeah, everything's fine!" came a forced response from Luz.

"Didn't sound like it. Are you decent?"

"Kind of. Why?"

"I'm coming in to make sure everything is okay," Eda replied.

Before Luz could respond, or pull her shirt back down, Eda kicked the door open. The first thing she noticed was a symbol on the human's chest. A symbol she remembered well. It was grey, for now anyway. "Kid, you didn't happen to get caught in the rays of the blood moon, did you? Even if you weren't outside, If the window was open?"

"I was." Luz looked down to the ground, ashamed. "I didn't realize it until it happened. About thirty seconds after the fact, I kinda blacked out? Like, I could still tell what was happening, but I couldn't control myself."

"Here, let's talk more downstairs. Get covered back up, then meet me and King down there whenever you're ready, okay?" Eda said, understanding Luz's predicament and what had most likely happened.

"Okay."

When Luz was fully dressed again, she headed downstairs. She loathed the conversation that was about to transpire. She thought Eda would be really mad at her, but to her surprise, Eda didn't scold her as soon as she showed herself, instead inviting her to sit on the couch next to her.

When Luz sat down, Eda let out a sigh. "Kid, before I say anything, I want you to know that this is a safe space, but it may get uncomfortable at times. I also want you to know, I'm not mad at you. If you had gone outside, when I explicitly told you not to, this would be a much different conversation, but it was an accident, right?"

Luz couldn't bring herself to look at her mentor, nor say anything. She nodded in understanding instead.

"Good. First, you said that you could tell what was happening, but you couldn't control yourself. What exactly happened? Take your time."

Luz went to speak, but her throat was dry, so it came out scratchy. "Well, I noticed that—"

"Hold that thought, I'm gonna get you a drink. I can hardly understand you." Eda then left to get some apple blood, knowing that, while Luz shouldn't have it until she's older, she's also having a hard time.

When Eda returned, she saw King sleeping on Luz's lap. Luz herself was drifting off. Eda ultimately decided it would be best for her to talk about it first thing tomorrow. "Hey kid, ya sleepy? Why don't you go upstairs? We'll talk first thing tomorrow."

Luz yawned, then responded with a drowsy "Okay." She immediately stood up, forgetting about King, causing him to fall on the ground with a "Watch it!" She then headed up to get some sleep, literally falling on her sleeping bag.

Morning had come, and Luz woke up earlier than she normally did. When she came to her senses, she noticed that she had a hand down her pants. She was freaking out on the inside, but she couldn't help herself. She was feeling too good to stop, and despite her attempts to do so, she couldn't. She also felt a light burning sensation on her chest. When she went to lift her shirt a bit to see what it was, she noticed the brand on her chest. It looked like a crescent moon surrounded by a heart with wings on it. The brand was a hot pink color. She then remembered what had happened last night, and she really tried her hardest to stop herself, but she wasn't any more successful.

"Hey kid, you up?" came Eda's voice. This sent Luz into a frenzy trying to force herself to stop touching herself. Alas, it was too late. Eda opened the door and found Luz just going at it, and right as she went to say something, Luz erupted in an orgasm more powerful than anything she had felt before; it was like Eda coming in was enough to send her over the edge. "Okay, come out when you're ready, kid."

Eda closed the door, and Luz finally stopped herself. The brand went from it's hot pink to being grey again.

Luz tried to get herself together, but the absolute last thing she wanted right now was to see Eda, even if she had answers. She eventually got dressed and came down to see a nervous Eda. Luz immediately started blushing in embarrassment. The tension rose to where you could almost see it. They both sat.

Eda eventually cut through the awkward silence. "Kid, I'm sorry. I should have knocked before coming in." Luz started tearing up, looking away from her mentor and trying to find anything to distract herself.

"Look," Eda said, "I know what it's like. I had it when I was your age, and it sucks major league ass."

"Don't hear you curse too often, Eda," was all Luz said.

"No, I try to keep it clean for King's sake. Now, with that out of the way, I want to let you know a few things. First, I don't think you should go to school until you get more control over it. I don't want you to get in trouble, much less do something you might regret. I've already informed Principal Bump about what has happened. I didn't share any personal details about it, so don't get you panties in a bunch about it. Secondly, I want you to know exactly how this curse works. You have seen the brand, correct?"

"Yeah, crescent moon surrounded with a heart with wings that glows hot pink?" Luz rattled off in a low tone.

"Yes. Now, about the curse itself, it completely takes control over your sex drive. You could get…horny out of nowhere. The worst part is that, it acts significantly stronger if your around a crush or a really good friend. That's why I want to keep you away from Hexside for now. If you see Amity or any of them, it could spell out the end of your relationships with them. It happened too many times to me, and I don't want the same for you. Another thing, you get more control after the first week or so, but one thing remains the same: the longer you go without "dealing with it," the stronger the urge becomes, and after you get control, masturbating won't get it to go away entirely any more. You'll need a partner to help you out." she stopped for a bit, then nudged Luz and winked, "maybe Amity could help?"

This caused Luz to go into a raging red blush. "Seriously, Eda? Now you say that?"

"I'm only joking. It may actually be best if you keep this on the down low for now, huh? You gotta promise not to tell anyone about this before I let you leave this house."

"Okay, Eda. You have my word."

About a week had passed at this point, and Luz was finally allowed to go back to Hexside with her friends. "Princy-B" had been informed about the whole ordeal, so he tried to modify Luz's schedule to not have classes with her friends, for her own sake.

"LUZ!" Willow called out from the thick crowd. Next to her was Gus and following behind excitedly was Amity. They all ran to meet her.

"Hey guys! Sorry, I had a really nasty stomach bug. Must've been something I ate." Luz said, telling the cover story over what really happened. "What'd I miss?"

"Not a lot, Hexside lost in the recent Grudby tournament. Boscha was so mad." Amity started to fill her in, but the bell rang before she could finish. "Man, see you at lunch?"

"Yeah, see you then!" Luz said, watching her crush and friend go off. She then started to head to her normal potions class in the morning, but she was stopped by Principal Bump.

"Luz, may we speak in my office? I have some…important stuff to talk about with you regarding your schedule."

"Yeah, sure. Let's—" she stopped speaking as Principal Bump grabbed her and and used abomination goo to teleport them to his office.

They arrived in seconds. Bump may not be as strong a witch as Darius, but he was still incredibly skilled. Bump sat in his seat, and Luz followed suite by sitting in the chair in front of the desk.

"Now, I'm sure Eda told you about everything going on with…well, you know," Bump said carefully.

"Yes, Princy-B, Eda told me everything about the curse and that she informed you about it. But what does that have to do with my schedule?" Luz asked.

"I went on ahead and slightly modified your schedule to not intersect with your friends as much as possible. You still have Abominations with Amity after lunch, but that's it. I hope you understand why I'm doing this."

Luz hung her head in sadness, but replied, "I understand, sir."

"How formal. I don't think anyone's ever called me "Sir" as far as I can remember. Bonus points for you, I guess. Here's your new schedule." With a snap of his fingers, Bump materialized Luz's new schedule in her lap. "Oh, and if your friends ask, just tell them I thought you were getting to distracted. Now, get to class. I don't want you to be late." He flicked his wrist and Luz was again teleported out of the room, and straight into her normal potions class.

It was 4th period, right before lunch, and Luz would normally be in plants with Willow, but instead was stuck in oracle. Oracle was a cool class, but Luz missed sharing a class with her friend.

"Now, if you've done this correctly you should have a near perfect projection," the oracle teacher, Ms. Sicksense said. "Try it out."

Luz tried her hardest to pay attention during class but was super distracted by her own thoughts. She put the last piece of her puzzle together, but she must have assembled them wrong, as a ghastly entity covered in ethereal mummy wraps came out screeching before attempting to attack Luz. She quickly pulled out a glyph combo that she learned from Lilith when she was still at the Owl House, causing the area at her desk to become covered in snow and the spirit to go back into the puzzle. The rest of the class was silent as this happened before erupting into a roaring applause. One of the kids even shouted, "Nice job!" in an enthusiastic tone.

"Now, now, everyone. Let's keep it calm and lets find out what went wrong." Ms. Sicksense came over to see how Luz assembled the puzzle, examining it intently, before determining what was wrong. "Ah, a simple oversight. This piece was flipped the opposite way of how it should have been. Pay more attention next time, Ms. Noceda, we can't have something like that happening again."

"Yes ma'am." Luz responded.

It was finally lunch. Luz was more than happy to see her friends again. Gus called out her arrival before the others could notice. Luz sat down next to Amity and prayed that nothing happened.

Willow was the first to say something. "Hey Luz, where were you? I didn't see you last period."

"Bump changed my schedule because he thought I was getting to distracted," Luz replied. "The only class I still share with any of you is next period with Amity in abominations."

"Boo," Gus inserted. "What about Gus?"

"Sorry, it's just because Bump knows I'm Luz's favorite. Isn't that right?" Amity said, a light blush on her face as she said the last part.

Luz didn't respond, too focused on trying not to have the curse do it's thing right now. "Luz? You good?"

She snapped out of her funk, responding to the first question, "Yeah, of course. Bump knows I have it out for you." Luz winked at her, failing miserably at being subtle.

Both turned away when they blushed. Willow let off a small chuckle, and Gus sat there, confused about what just went down. Right then, however, she began to feel the effects of the curse take hold, and it hit her like a freight train.

Shit, not now! she thought to herself.
