Our little show over, we return home rather than the bakery. I don't want to leave Kat out.
It is a good chance to show Morgana around as well, I just have to keep Lux from getting handsy.
After leading everyone into the sitting room, I drop into my favorite chair and pull Lux into my lap to help in that regard.
Morgana relaxes on a red and black half...chair...couch...thing across from us. Is that how you are supposed to use that? I have been avoiding it because I honestly didn't know.
I debate asking her what those are even called but am interrupted by Kat's arrival.
"Congratulations, you lot are the top news again." she greets us.
"Yay." I put the appropriate amount of enthusiasm in my tone. So much.
Kat throws a pillow at me as she sits down on a couch.
"Be more grateful, even if you don't care on a personal level, this is amazing for Noxus. And even if you still aren't invested in Noxus, this is awful for Demacia. I am already getting reports of riots from some of my spies. We didn't even have to try to agitate them!"
I...am unsure how to feel about that statement. They try to start riots?
Morgana looks uncomfortable as well.
Lux appears completely unconcerned.
"Aaand none of you care." She sighs. "You all really do suck at this game. Whatever, let us do the work, and smile for the cameras. We have the groundwork laid already, once the crop is good and ready we will get out there in the field and really cut you loose, you can at least understand that much Mr. Hits Things With His Sword?"
I nod. That is more my comfort zone yes.
"As for our lovely angel, well, your bakery is probably going to get a lot of attention. Other than that, I don't know. We can dip into the medical stocks, are you opposed to doing hospital visits and such?"
That gets her interest.
"That sounds nice. I always wished I had the capability to heal, but alas..."
"Good, good. Also, you said you were big on forgiveness? We could visit the prisons, find some of the more edge cases, make a big show of you helping sort things out and helping redeem them, turn people to a better path." Kat suggests.
That really gets her interest, causing her to perk up even more.
"I...would very much appreciate the opportunity..." she says, her voice almost trembling.
Yeah, that means a lot to her.
I suspect it would be difficult to stop her now that it has been brought up. I do hope Noxus knows what they are doing.
"Great. Sorry if everything eats into your baking time but...well, you said you felt a void right? Working to help heal the world should help yourself, no?" Kat asks.
"...Perhaps," Morgana admits.
I rather want to ask more about her policy of forgiveness, but now is not the time. We are just now getting off on the right foot, and she has been so...reasonable. No, I am going to try to avoid pushing her buttons. Especially when she is so...worked up.
She takes her leave soon after, leaving just the three of us.
I ask Lux if she is going to keep the wings. She pushes them into my face while giggling.
That would be a yes.
Kat gets up and sashays her way towards us (she did finally explain why she does that), draping herself across my shoulders.
"I ordered a new bed for my room, I don't think certain idiots will break it. Want to come see it?"
There is only one answer to that question.
We follow Kat up to her room for the night.

Sitting in the staff lounge, watching the latest interview while drinking with my friend Captain Snatch may not be the best way to spend the time, but there are certainly worse things to be doing. Well, less friend and more I tolerate him more than most. Popular he is not. I don't imagine it will be long before he pisses off the wrong person and gets offed.
The show is a lot more entertaining than expected. Well, I guess that cat's out of the bag.
I take a sip of my Graggy Ice. I don't drink often, but when I do? I drink the good stuff.
"Ooo ooo I want it! I want an angel! Can we catch her?!" Snatch exclaims.
"No, you idiot, Morgana is already part of the League," I tell him.
"Oh...right," He droops. "Variant version?" he asks, brightening.
I roll my eyes. "Yes, most likely. Have to ask her first given her contract, but it is very likely now that she's gone public."
Part of the contract was to keep her real status and capabilities hidden.
"Public? Wait, you knew!?" he asks.
"Yeah. I was on the team that added her to the Roster," I admit.
"Dude, what the fuck? And you didn't tell me?"
"Of course not. You couldn't keep a secret to keep your life. It's why you don't get put on any of the good work."
One of the reasons. One of many, many reasons.
"Hey, I can too keep a secret!" he claims.
Bullshit.
"Really? Name one."
"I never told anyone about that time Falling Idol slipped a whole packet of laxatives into your coffee when you were in the can."
I stare at him, waiting for the realization. And note to drop some cyanide into Falling Idol's tea when I get the chance. That son of a bitch, I remember that day of hell.

The bar is classy, refined, expensive. I love it.
The mortals here are so unused to pain and are always so shocked when I show myself.
The ones in the more, common, establishments always have their guard up, at least a little. Here? Here they think they are safe. Right up until they find out the truth.
I giggle as the well-dressed man plies me with more expensive wine. Yes, I think this one will do for tonight. I can feel the lust radiating off of him. He likes to play rough with his partners once he takes them home. Oh, it will be quite the turnaround for him.
The sudden change of events on the screen above the bar catches my attention and I direct some attention that way. Interviews, how bor...ing?
...
I...remember...wings.
...
!HATE!
The insect won't shut up, mewling to get my attention. I force his mouth closed. The others are too loud, I cannot hear the screen. I quiet everyone.
...
Noxus...
The angels are in Noxus...
I remember those wings...
I remember burning.
Burning while that blonde bitch looked down upon me in contempt.
I was weak then, so weak...
But no more.
No...and now the dark-winged one wants to raise a new burning one?
No, I will not allow it. They must be dealt with.
I leave the bar, wiping the remains of the man's shattered skull off on my dress.
"Noxus..." I whisper to myself, leaving a room full of impaled corpses behind me.
