Alicante academy.
An: this is a one shot I have just written. I might make it into a longer story if you want. But other than that, I really hope you like it. And like always I am always open to suggestions on how to write better. And I don't own anything other then the plot.
For almost all my life I have been living in this school. It's called Alicante academy. And only the richest or most important people are allowed to be here. which would explain why I am allowed to go here. as my parents and as far as I am aware off are some of the richest people in the world. But truthfully, I don't really know them. This school have been my whole life and all my friends go here and have been here for as long as I can remember. I actually started going here when I was five years old. Which is a lot younger then most people are. The only person who has been here as long as I have been here is my older brother. But its nice to have a place like this to call home.
"are you daydreaming again fray." Izzy my roommate and best friend said as she saw me sitting by my desk almost falling asleep working on my maths homework. "no but I am about to fall asleep if I see any more numbers. And who decided to put in letters in maths." I said. "a cruel person. But the boys are asking if we want to join them in the garden. You know the one we always go to." Izzy said. her real name is Isabelle, but no one calls her that. and she is talking about the garden we found a couple of years ago. It's just behind the school hidden behind some bushes and trees. "please anything to forget this." I said and pointed towards my homework. "why don't you just ask Tessa or simon to help you." Izzy said. sure, I could do that, or I could just do it on my own like I have promised myself I would do. "speaking about Tessa is she also going to the garden or is it just the boys." I asked completely regarding what she said. "no, she said something about finishing her favourite book. And Maia is by the gym, I think. So, its only the boys this time." Izzy said. I nodded and stood up.
We walked towards the garden and could already hear the boys laughing. Its always so nice hearing them having fun without it being about me. well, it could still be about me but hopefully it's not. Izzy pushed one of the bushed out of her way so we could pass thru. And behind the bushes we could see the boys running around. "so, this is what you do without us." Izzy said loud enough for them to hear her properly. "well, you took so long." Alec said. he is Izzy's older brother. He apparently had seen us walking into the garden as he stopped. But the rest haven't even noticed us or even heard Izzy's very loud voice. "we would be here earlier if sleeping beauty over there haven't fallen asleep on her homework." Izzy said. "I did not fall asleep." I said a little too loud which I realised when all the boys staired at us. Well at least it took care of their attention. "let me guess it was math yet again." Jon said. he is my older brother. "of course, it was maths. I don't get it. And every time I look at the numbers, I get all sleepy. And it must have been someone really sadistic that decided to put letters in math." I said. "well, I for one don't really want to discuss maths today. but didn't I ask if you could bring Tessa." Will said. he is cousin with Jace. And he is a player like my brother and Jace. "no, she said she wanted to finish her book before the weekend was over." Izzy said. "well, she is a smart girl." Jem said. he is best friends with Will but not nearly enough of a player like the other guys. "so, what we are stupid because we like to actually hang out with you. Well, most of you." I said as I looked over to Jace and Jonathan. It was mostly meant as a joke. "well, I am your older brother, and we have the same friends. So, you are stuck with me." Jon said. "and I think you are lying fray. Who wouldn't love to hang out with me." Jace said. like I said a big player who likes to believe he is a god on earth. "keep telling yourself that. but what is the reason for us to go out here." I asked. "we are going to be playing a game. And we needed more players. And I am sure you know which one." Sebastian said. he used to be a player but ever since he started to date Seelie, he has been a much nicer guy. He is also best friends with my brother and used to have a crush on me. "fine but I am refusing to be the hunter yet again." Izzy said.
The game we are about to play is called Shadowhunter and demons. Where you split into two teams of five in each team or well it really depends on how many are playing. And because the garden is so close to the woods the ones who are demons goes into the woods to hide for the hunters. And last time we played it Izzy was the hunter and she hates running around in her heels in the woods.
"well, I can't promise anything. But I have a hat with our names and when I pick out a name you will either be on the hunters or the demons side." Simon said. my other best friend. He is usually the one preparing the game. "go one." Izzy said. I know she have a crush on him since about a year ago. "first one is for the hunters." Simon said and picked out a name. "Clary looks like you are our first hunter." Simon said as he showed us all the name. this would be fun I am usually never the hunter. "this is for demons' side." Magnus said. he is Alec's boyfriend. And one of my close friends. He picked out a name. "well luck is on your side Izzy." Magnus as he showed the name. "thank god. Now I can just hide and wait for clary to fall into one of my traps." Izzy said. right one more thing the demons are allowed to put down traps in the woods. But only non-harmful ones and close to them so they can help you out. and if you get caught in one of them you are out. and every time I have been a hunter, I have been stuck in one of there traps. Lucky I wasn't stuck for long. "next up is hunters' side. So, who will join Clary." Simon said. in my head I hoped it would be someone fast and good at the game. "its looks like Jace will join Clary." Simon said and showed us all the note. Well, Jace is good at the game. "and for demons we have." Magnus said as he took out a name. "alec." Magnus said. well mostly it has been Alec's traps I have been caught in. so not that great. "and for hunters we have." Simon said. "magnus sorry it looks like you are on different teams." Simon continued as he took out a name. "no worries I like being with biscuit and her boytoy." Magnus said. "not my boytoy." I said under my breath. "well next for demons we have." Magnus said. "Jem. Well, this will be interesting." Magnus said. Jem is also a very good demon. "next up for hunters." Simon said and took out a name. "its Will." simon said and showed us all the name. well Will is a good hunter and have never lost. "and next for demons is." Magnus said and took out a name. "simon." Magnus said and showed us all the name. that means we will either get my brother or Sebastian. And if I am being honest, I don't know who is the best to have on which team. "and last player for the hunters is." Simon said and took out a name. "its Jon. Which means Sebastian is with the demons. So, hunters get ready over there and demons lets go over there." simon said and first pointed towards the left side of the garden which is furthest away from the woods. And then to the right which is closer to the woods.
Me and the boys stood by one of the threes and talked about or game plan. "so should I try to get caught." I said. "what no. for once you will be the one who actually survives." Jace said. "and have you meet my sister Jace. She is that tiny red-haired girl who sometimes trips over her own feet. Who have never survived a whole game." Jon said. all the things he says it true. "that might be true, but she has won every game she has been a demon." Will said. also, true. For some reason they can never found me. "so, we have to put up a game plan where she can sneak around. Without getting caught." Magnus said. "well, what are the rules now again." Jace asked. "why do you ask." I asked. "just wondering if we could work in pairs or if we have to be alone." Jace said. the rules are something we came up with when I was eight and we had just started to play this game. And for some reason I always have the rulebook on me. the one I had to do as I lost the first game. "let me look." I said and walked over to my backpack where I have left it by the tree. "is there a reason you always have that on you." Magnus wondered. "well, it's mostly because I forget to take it out. and there is always someone who is breaking the rule." I said.

o Don't go too far into the woods.
o Always have a phone on you. So, we can find you.
o Don't tell any adults what is going on here.
o Especially not to your parents.
o Don't hurt anyone. (this rule was added later when Jace accidentally broke his foot on one of the traps that alec had put down)
o When you are a hunter, you must travel alone at all times.
o Except if you are capture then you are allowed to ask for help.
o Don't bring anyone from the outside into the game. (also added later as Jon thought it would be a good idea to show Kaelie what we are doing out here. it didn't end well)
o Don't make out with anyone in the woods. (also added later when Clary found alec and magnus making out by one of the trees. Distracted her so she falls down the tree she was in. also ended badly as it was on the same year Jace broke his foot.)
There is a lot more, but these are the most important once. "sorry it says you have to be alone. if you are not caught." I said. "didn't you make most of the rules." Will asked. "no but I lost the first game, so I had to write everything down. We all wrote down one. And some are most useful then the rest. I mean this one doesn't really apply to anyone then me." I said and showed them the rule book where it said. to clary don't wear a skirt to the woods. Or a dress it will be caught in something.
"well then lets figure out another game plan." Jace said but unfortunately that is when simon blew his whistle and the game was on. "okay Clary just try your best and look at the ground as much as possible." Jace said before we all ran towards the woods.
I don't know how long I have been in here but for once I wasn't caught within the first ten minutes of the game. And as far as I can see no one else have been caught yet. And I haven't really found a trap either. It wasn't until a few minutes later that I heard someone sneeze that I knew I was near someone. I could only hope it wasn't anyone on my team. But I did my best to sneak up to the person. And the closer I got I could see that it must be alec or simon standing behind a tree. I looked around before I got closer to the person. But then as you should do I put my hand on his shoulder. It was alec I have caught. He turned around and looked a little surprised. "since when are you good at this game. And I assume you don't know what to do when you caught someone." Alec said. I shocked my head. "no not really." I said. "come on. When you have caught someone, you take them back to the garden." Alec said. I nodded and took his hands and dragged him out of the woods. Luckily, we have been inside this forest that I knew my way out.
When we got out, we could see magnus standing there with Jem and Jace with simon. "so, who got who." Magnus asked. "I got him. I actually did it." I said. "seriously alec you got caught by her." Jem said. "well, I sneezed, and she was almost right behind me." alec said. "well done biscuit. You are learning. Now where can the rest be. it has been almost an hour." Magnus said and gave me a hug. And after he said that the rest walked out of the forest. "tell me Clary got caught first." Izzy said as she saw me standing next to alec. "nope little Clary actually got me." alec said. "seriously then who got caught first." Sebastian asked. "let see I got simon almost right away. And magnus got Jem around ten minutes later. Then Fray got out here around two minutes ago. And you guys." Jace said. "Isabelle managed to trap me." Will said. this is strange he is usually the first one to get anyone. "and I got Sebastian right after. But we did look around for Clary for some time." Jon said. "do any of you have any trust in me." I asked. "as a demon absolutely but as a hunter cant say that or I would be lying. And I have been taught to never lie." Jace said. well, that was mostly true. All of us have been taught not to lie at this school. But sometimes a little white lie never hurt. Like when people are asking where we are going.
