Foxy Orange Valentine's

Rebecca's Pov, February, Afternoon, Westbury, Massachusetts

Walking out of the supermarket in my red winter jacket and jeans, I hightail to my car to get out of the cold winter air. Jeez, the weather is freezing outside! I pop open the trunk of my Camry, put the bags inside, and slam the trunk, then quickly open my car's door and turn it on. I take a moment to warm my hands. I knew I should have worn gloves! My damn fingers feel like they're going to fall off! My ears aren't feeling that much better. *Sigh*, can't worry about that now. I've got a surprise dinner to make for my girl, Alicia.

Driving back home, my thoughts lay on my girlfriend. She's 5 ft.7, with blonde and brown mixed coloured hair. The softest hazelnut skin tone, and the most beautiful amber-hazel eyes I've ever seen. Doesn't take me much to get lost in them. And her smile just lights up my day. I can be in the worst of moods, and her smile and laughing will just cheer me up.

We've been together for almost a year. I wasn't even looking for someone when we met. I've been in Massachusetts for a few years. After living in Dublin my whole life, I moved to Massachusetts to help one of my good friends, Finn. Got myself settled, found work at one of his gyms, and started building up my life. Now, I work two jobs: one at a medium sized gym near one of the larger highways, and another as security guard at a local mall. One time, I needed a place to chill after moving heavy boxes of computer equipment all day, so I went to this neat little café to grab a bite. In she walked, and immediately I was hooked. Everyone was staring. Well, I don't know if 'everyone' was staring, but I damn sure was. She was wearing this large faux-fur black coat, black shiny gloves and a purple beanie, with long dark pants and black boots. Perfect mix of cute and sexy. She ordered a cappuccino and a sandwich, then took a seat not too far from me. I saw her smile at me a few times, so I sucked in my fears and approached. Found out her name was Alicia Crawford, and that she had just moved away from L.A. She told me she was working as a yoga and dance instructor to put herself through school. She wants to do some interior designing for one of the companies here on the East Coast. The two of us clicked right away. I was stuttering a bit, but I kept the conversation going. I think she liked my attitude. And we were laughing like it was nobody's business. I asked her if she wanted to go for coffee sometime, and we traded numbers. I thought she was out of my league, and we took it slow, but she gave me a chance. And I'm so happy she did.

I'm going over to her place to surprise her by cooking a special meal. Think of it as a 'pre-Valentine's' hang out dinner. I'm making bone-in porkchops with rice vermicelli, sautéed peppers and mushrooms. I know she loves Cinnabons, so I'm also planning to make a few homemade ones for the both of us. Got a really cool recipe off of YouTube. There's even a way for you to steam them. Who knew you could do that?

Walking up the stairs to her apartment door with my bags, I ring the doorbell. *Ding Dong* I wait for a few seconds, smiling at the door through my mask. Suddenly, I hear a squeal and the door flies open.

"Becky? Oh my God, hi!" she screams, her tone high and her speech fast. She grabs me and pulls me close, hugging me. I hug back, feeling my heart beating rapidly. She's a good two inches taller but is so gorgeous. "Why didn't you call?" She then looks at the bags around my feet. "What's with all the bags, Becks?"

"Hi Licia. Yeah, I wanted to surprise you. Let's get inside and I'll explain everything." We both walk in. I take off my boots and leave them near the entrance. Don't want to dirty all the floor my girl cleaned this morning. She had online classes today, so she wasn't working. Luckily, she doesn't go in until 4 tomorrow, so I have the whole afternoon and night with her before I need to leave in the morning. I've been planning stuff for Valentine's, but every time I try to talk with Alicia about it, she changes the subject. I know it's just a random holiday, but I want to make it special for her. Taking off my mask and tossing it, I wash my hands before looking at her outfit. She's wearing this gray Nike sweater over a black t-shirt, an image of Jason wielding his machete in the center, and a pair of simple pajama pants. I'd be lying if I said she didn't look like the cutest thing ever. She's also a super horror fan, so figures she'd be rocking Jason gear. I walk up to her and kiss those soft, berry-tasting lips of hers. The minute I do, she deepens it and moans, making my lips tremble and my knees go weak. She wraps her arms around me, giving me a few quick pecks before finally pulling away.

"So, what're you doing here, Becks? I love having you here, but what's the occasion?"

"Who, me?" I say in the thickest accent I can. "Nothing ma'am. I'm 'ere to fix your couffee machine." Her eyes go dark. She loves when I bring out my accent.

"The coffee machine is fine, young lady. But you still haven't answered my question." She starts to playfully poke my chest. "Tell me why you're here, before I kick yo' ass out!"

"You wouldn't dare?" I tell her, pulling her close to me. I feel her shaking in my arms, so I rub my hands up and down her back. I feel her take a breath, hearing her sigh in pleasure.

"Do-Don't count on it." she says in a breathy tone. Her half-lidded eyes, twinkling in the apartment's light, are staring at me. Give me strength. I'm about to pounce on her right here. "Please tell me." she says so softly.

"Okay. I know you've been really stressed with work and assignments, so I thought I'd cook my girl a good old-fashioned meal." I admit. She smiles at me.

"Aw, Becks, really? You don't have to do all that."

"I want to, Alicia. You've been working so hard. And you keep this place spic and span. It's time for someone to help you relax for a change."

"God, I don't deserve you."

"No, you don't." I say with a shrug.

"Hey!" She playfully punches me in the arm. We both laugh and tickle each other, before I start taking out the ingredients. "What's with the baking products?"

"Well, what's your most favorite thing to end the day with?"

"A warm blanket in front of Crunchyroll or Disney+. Preferably with you cuddling me." she states.

"Well, that's definitely something we can do later, but I was thinking of something more food related." She takes a moment.

"Food? What are y-" she starts, before her head perks up and her eyes widen. God, they just suck you right in. I can't look away even if I wanted to right now. "You're not!"

"Not what?"

"You're making Cinnabons, aren't you?" I just smile at her. She proceeds to kiss me before speaking again. "You are wife material. I'm wifing you. You can't leave. From now on, this is your home." I laugh out loud.

"Hahaha! Alright. What about work?" She pulls out her phone.

"I'll call them and say you're sick."
"And after that?"

"How would you feel about working from home?"

"As a security guard and gym instructor?"

"Yeah, that might not work. But please? I need someone to give me food and care when I need it most. And I promise to cuddle with you, spoon you, take your shirts and hoodies, steal your fries-"

"Alicia, you're not exactly making this sound appealing."

"What are you talking about? All girlfriends take shirts and steal food from each other's plates?"

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah. It's just common knowledge around these parts. But you didn't even let me tell you about the awesome massages I'd give you." she then flexes her fingers in front of me, then wiggles her eyebrows, causing me to laugh.

"You are something else."
"So, will you stay?"

"Yes, just until tomorrow. But we better get cooking or we won't have enough time for cuddling."

"Mkay. One more kiss?" she asks, before pouting. I can never say no. Kissing her one more time, I take off my jacket and start getting the food out of the bags while Licia prepares the pots and pans. I bought enough food with leftovers for the week, so that way she can enjoy her food much longer.

Later that night

"Wow, Becks! Your cooking seems to get better every time we eat in. I'm damn glad you came when you did, wifey." Alicia tells me, before interlacing our fingers. I hear a ding. "Ooo! The Cinnabons!"

"I'll get them." I made the dough with instant yeast, so they didn't take that long to cook. Taking them out from the oven, I see that a few are not exactly 'symmetrical'. But isn't that the beauty of cooking? Sure, you have people who critique food for its aesthetics, but at the end of the day, the food has to actually taste good. One of Alicia's friends took her out to dinner at some fancy restaurant, and the food was expensive, plus it sucked. I made her a few grilled cheese sandwiches and a minestrone soup to make up for her horrific dinner. We wait a few more minutes, Alicia and I preparing the icing, before digging in. She was loving every moment of her dessert. I think the one I got was a little burnt on the end. Note to self, don't forget to oil the 'whole cookie sheet', not just the middle. Alicia didn't want me to be uncomfortable, so after we ate, she gave me a Texas chainsaw black hoodie, along with some pajama bottoms. It came with a shirt, but my shoulders are bigger than hers, so I didn't want to rip it. She grins ear to ear when she sees me wearing it.

"It's perfect."

"Do you have any non-Horror themed pajamas?"

"Yeah, but they're all in the wash."

"Ah, okay." She lays down in her bed, then signs into her laptop.

"What do you think Becks? Anime or Disney?"

"Not sure."

"We could watch something horr-"

"Nope! No horror."

"Aw, are you afraid, Becks? I can hold you tight and keep you safe from the monsters." Alicia says, then pats the spot next to her on the bed. I lay down. We keep clicking through the list before settling on Gravity Falls. She pulls me closer, the two of us cuddling. My head is resting on her chest. I can feel it fill with air as she breathes, and the softness of her gray sweater on my face. I can smell her sweet vanilla bodywash. Wrapping our arms around each other, I feel her body warming mine, my heartbeat going fast for a few seconds, before slowly calming down again.

"Hey Alicia?"

"Yes, my redheaded warrior princess?" I look up at her. "Sorry, I was watching Xena earlier. What's up?" I shake my head.

"I was wondering: what do you want to do for Valentine's?" I ask her. She opens her mouth, but doesn't speak a word. She's looking everywhere but at me. "Because every time I mention it, you sort of brushed it off. It's cool if you don't celebrate it. I don't need one day to show you how much you mean to me. I need to do it every time you're around. I was just curious why it is you never talk about it."

"I… I *Sigh* I had a bad experience with Valentine's Day." I can feel her tense up a bit, the glow in her cheeks gone and her eyes droopy and sad.

"Alicia, I'm here for you. You don't have to tell me anymore than y-" I start, before she cuts me off by putting her hand up.

"It's okay, Becks. It has been a long time, and I was going to tell you eventually, so why not now." she says. "Back in L.A., when I first started out in modelling, I met a girl. Her name was Aksana. She was a stunning brunette from Lithuania, who worked in the same modelling agency I did. We met during a shoot, and found out we had a lot in common. We were both big horror fans, and we liked working out together. I introduced her to anime and jet-skiing, and she brought me to all these hidden spots she knew of in the L.A. food scene. We really hit it off. She never told me if she was into girls, so I just assumed she wasn't. One day, after a shoot, she gave me her hotel room key, so we could hang out after hours. We ate, laughed, and streamed. She went to the bathroom at one point during our movie binge. After a rather long time, she came back into the room wearing… um… nothing."

"Oh?" I smirk.

She just shrugs. "Of course, I was shocked. Couldn't move, let alone breathe. She pretty much called me out for all the stares I gave her in the changing room, and then said she'd been doing the same. Movie night pretty much ended after that. After our night together, we started seeing each other. We tried to keep it secret, since we weren't sure how the agency would react, but most of the models knew and supported us. She was my rock, and I really saw a future with her." Alicia then pauses and takes a deep breath. "One day, on Valentine's, I was in and out of meetings for this shoot the agency wanted me to do in Venice Beach. Had a lot of paperwork to fill out, since our agent was busy. It was cool, because I always look through the contracts before I sign them, anyway. Aksana told me she was going to hang out with some friends, so I gave her my best, kissed her and promised to give her the best Valentine's evening ever. I got the paperwork done around 9:30, went to the store to buy some champagne and roses, along with her favorite cheat food, chili fries. Then I drove back to the hotel room and went up to our floor. I felt a weird kind of vibe once I got there. I thought I could hear voices and laughing coming from behind the door. I unlocked it, and heard Aksana and two other voices, a man and a woman. I went to the bedroom and walked in on her 'fooling around' with both of them." Her shoulders have gone up, and I can hear her the sadness in her voice as she recalls the memory. "She cheated on me. With two random people she met at the club with her friends. I left immediately, ignoring her fake apologies and 'it doesn't mean anything' arguments, and went to a bar. I drank that damn bottle of champagne and ate the chili fries all by myself. I cried all night. I really saw a future with her. House, kids, maybe a few furry friends, the works. And she threw it all away." She hangs her head low. I get up and wrap her in my arms, holding her as tightly as I can. She does the same.

"Alicia, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories." She hugs me back, then gives me a half smile.

"It's okay, Becks. You didn't know. And they're not 'all' bad memories. Like I said, she was my girl and we did have some good times. But obviously, we weren't meant for each other. Plus, if it hadn't been for that incident with Aksana, I never would have moved from L.A. to Westbury for work and school. And I wouldn't have found you, Rebecca." I feel the tears welling in my eyes at her words. I grab her and hold her close, the two of us hugging again. I pull my head back and look in her eyes.

"Really? You, *ahem*, you mean that?"

"Of course, Becks. Who's the girl who lets me cry on her shoulder and kisses me when I'm moping? Who's the girl willing to watch anime and horror films with me? Who's the girl that support my goals, my dreams, and surprises me with homecooked meals to show how much she cares? It's always you, Becks. And you mean the world to me." I can't help the happiness in my heart when I hear her admit that.

"Alicia, you mean a lot to me, too. So much. I want you to know that what happened was never your fault. Aksana didn't deserve you. You are the sweetest, cutest, most incredible woman I've ever met, and I'm so glad to be in your life." I see tears forming her eyes.

"I love you, Becks."

"I love you too, Alicia." I say, before kissing her. She holds my face with both hands. I place one hand under her chin, while the other tangles in her soft locks. She pulls me on top of her, and we make out, pouring all of our feelings into this moment. We kiss until our mouths start to hurt, then pull away. I rest my head in the crook of her neck, nuzzling my face against her smooth skin, as the two of us catch our breath. I look down at the laptop, the screens showing credits.

"Looks like we missed season 1." I look up at Alicia, before the two of us burst into laughter.

"It was still playing? How long did we make it for?"

"Well, I thought I put it on pause, but I think I just muted it and clicked on the wrong episode. And I have no idea. But I'm not complaining." I say, giving her a seductive smile. She leans down and pecks my lips.

"NO complaints here, either. I'm sorry if I brought the mood down with my past."

"You have nothing to apologize for, Licia. I asked, and it means a lot to me that you would trust me with that story."

She stares into my eyes. Smiling, she hugs me tightly again. "Hey Becks? I have an idea."

"Yeah, babe?"

"How about we skip Valentine's altogether, and instead celebrate St. Patrick's over two days? I know how much St. Pattie's means to you, and we could make it a two-night affair: one day for us, and one for the holiday."

"You know what? That's not a bad idea."

"Great. So, let's watch Texas Chainsaw!"

"What? What about Gravity Falls?"

"Well, we got occupied and I don't want to restart the whole season. We were somewhere in the middle and now we're on the last part. I don't even remember which episode we were on."

"So your solution is to skip it and watch a horrific slasher film instead?"

Alicia nods. "Pretty much, yeah." I just sigh into her chest. "Although…"

"I swear if you say Halloween or Scream-"

"No no, nothing like that. How about we get up now?"

"Where are we going?" She smiles, trying to pull me off the couch.

"I was thinking you could use a shower." I raise my eyebrow.

"Did you just say I stink?" She shrugs. "You're such an arse!"

"Arse! Haha! I love your accent." she says. I just pout at her. "Hey! Don't be like that. I'm the captain, here, Becks. We're going on a mission."

"To the shower?"

"Yes. And you should listen to your captain." she emphasizes.

"Right?" I say sarcastically. Rolling my eyes, something suddenly hits my face, blocking the light. Grabbing it and taking it off me, I look at the item: Alicia's sweater. Looking forward, Alicia is now turned away from me, her black shirt on display. She has taken off her pants, exposing her red panties. I feel my eyes roaming over her curves and smooth legs. Slowly swaying to her feet, she walks to the bathroom and flicks on the light. She peeks her head over her shoulder.

"I just got a new shea butter bodywash. I was hoping I would get to use it this weekend when we hung out. But since you are here now…" Alicia murmurs in the huskiest voice I've ever heard. I'm frozen in place, trying to control myself. She then walks through the door, before turning back to me.

"You know what? It's been a long day. I could use a shower." Alicia holds the door open for me. Removing my sweater and heading towards the door, I'm about to grab her and give her a kiss, when she stops me with a hand to my chest.

"Remember who your captain is, Becks?" she asks teasingly.

"Yes ma'am." I respond, before grabbing her and closing the door. We may not have Valentine's, but as long as I have Alicia, that won't matter. When things start to open up, we can go all out for St. Patties. For now, I'm happy with streaming and Cinnabons.

The end

I'll be updating Aftermath of the Dark War once things start to get a bit more manageable. Until then, take care everyone!

Please do review if you can. It shows me people enjoy my stories, which is always nice. Thanks again for reading and have a great day!
