Our story opens up at Goofy's house, where we see Donald and Goofy using Goofy's barbecue grill to make some food.
"Hey Goofy, pass the food." said Donald.
"Sure thing, Don." Goofy said as he handed a plate of burgers.
As soon as Donald put the burgers on the grill, it intrigued the noses of two chipmunks.
"Oh boy, Dale." said Chip. "You smell that?"
"Yeah, either it's Santa Claus coming down the chimney, or Donald is grilling at Goofy's house!" Dale proclaimed.
"I'd go for the former!" Chip chuckled. "Let's go get us some grub!"
As soon as Donald went to get some salt, Chip and Dale both climbed down and tried to grab a burger, only for Donald to arrive.
"Not so fast!" He growled. "You little pests get off my food! Right now!"
"Aaahh!" Chip and Dale shouted.
Donald then proceeded to swat Chip and Dale into a tree hole with his spatula.
"Gawrsh, Donald, you sure have a way with those two." Goofy chuckled.
"It's a talent, Goofy." Donald shrugged.
Just then, an acorn hit Donald in the head.
"Bullseye!" Chip exclaimed as he and Dale laughed.
"You pests!" Donald screamed and waved his fists.
"Say Donald, while you're putting yourself back together, I'm gonna go get the boys." Goofy said.
Meanwhile inside the house, Max was showing the triplets a shopping bag.
"So Max, what's this big surprise you wanted to show us?" asked Huey.
"Guys, what you are about to see is none other than my latest and most prized possession!" Max proclaimed as he held up a shopping bag.
"A shopping bag?" asked Louie.
"No Louie, what's inside the shopping bag." Max clarified. "Can I get a little drum roll, please?"
Dewey then started beatboxing as Max reached into the shopping bag and took out a dirty green t-shirt with a silhouette surrounded by electrical charges.
"That's a nice, shirt, Max." Louie said. "Where'd you get it? A thrift store?"
"This isn't just any shirt, guys!" Max said. "This is Powerline's lucky shirt. The same shirt he wore at his first concert! The one he wore in his very first video! The one he wore on his first tabloid photo! Never been cleaned! He even autographed it!"
The triplets then sniffed the shirt and gagged.
"We can smell that." They said.
"Wow! That's awesome, Max!" Dewey explained. "Where did you get it? From a Powerline concert?"
"No, me and dad have been officially banned for life." Max deadpanned. "I won it in a Powerline radio contest and this was the second prize."
"Second prize? Don't you mean grand prize?" asked Huey.
"No, this is the second prize." Max shook his head. "The grand prize was a golden VIP ticket to his next concert. The third prize was a lock of his hair."
"Ooh..." said the nephews.
"Anyways, I'm gonna frame it and keep it on my wall." Max continued. "That kid in math class with the Stand Out forty five is so gonna be so jealous!"
"Boys!" Goofy called out. "Come and get it!"
Max and the nephews ran downstairs to the back dock and joined Donald and Goofy for dinner.
"Hey dad, can you pass me some lemonade, please?" asked Max.
"Sure, Maxie." Goofy grabbed an empty pitcher.
"Aw man, it's empty." Max sighed.
"Don't worry, son." Goofy said. "We'll go to the store and get some more."
"Donald! We're going to the store to get more lemonade." Goofy shouted.
"Goofy, you don't have to yell." Donald rubbed his head. "I'm right near the grill."
"Sorry." Max said as he and Goofy went to the store.
"This needs more sauce." Dewey said as he took a bite out of one of his ribs.
Dewey tried to get some sauce out of a bottle, but he couldn't get it out. After tapping the bottom of the bottle several times, he finally managed to get it out, but it flew right into the house and landed right on Max's lucky shirt.
"Aaahhh!" Dewey screamed.
"What is it, Dewey?" asked Louie.
"Yeah, you look like you've seen a ghost or something." Huey added.
Dewey pointed to the large sauce stain on Max's shirt.
"Aaaahhh!" Huey and Louie repeated.
"Oh no! Max's lucky shirt!" Huey panicked. "What're we gonna do?"
"No need to worry, we can just wash it and the stain will come off." Louie said. "It's all a piece of cake."
The boys washed the shirt and it came out nice and freshly cleaned.
"Whew." Huey sighed of relief. "That was a close one."
"Uh, fellas..." Dewey gulped. "There's just one problem..."
"What?" asked Louie and Huey.
"Powerline's autograph." Dewey explained. "The one that was on the shirt, it washed off."
The nephews looked at the shirt and saw that the autograph was gone.
"Oh no!" Huey gasped. "What're we gonna do? If Max sees that we messed up his prize winning shirt, he'll kill us! Then, he'll dig up our graves and keep beating our corpses! Then, he'll cremate us and throw our ashes in the ocean, then he'll-"
Louie then slapped Huey across the face.
"Get ahold of yourself, man!" Louie shouted as he shook Huey like a doll.
"Thanks, I needed that." Huey rubbed his cheek.
Just then, Goofy and Max arrived back from the store.
"Howdy everyone, we're back!" said Goofy.
"Oh no!" Huey panicked. "Quick! Hide the shirt in the basket!"
The boys hid the shirt in a basket and ran downstairs to meet Donald, Goofy and Max.
"Come on, boys." said Donald. "We have to finish eating."
"Of course we do." The nephews grinned nervously.
While everyone else ate, the triplets just ate their food more slowly.
"Gee, you boys not be all that hungry." Donald remarked. "Usually, you'll eat up like pigs."
"Well, Don and I gotta get going." Goofy got up. "We've got important business to attend to."
"What kind of business, dad?" Max asked his father.
"Oh, just work stuff." Goofy shrugged.
"Just stay inside the house while we are out." Donald said. "Max, you're in charge of watching the boys. No leaving the house and no inviting people over. Got it?"
"H'yuck, don't worry, Donald, you can count on me." Max said.
"Okay boys, we'll be back tonight." Donald said as he and Goofy left. "Remember, no leaving the house and no having anyone over."
As soon as Goofy and Donald left, Max turned to the triplets.
"Okay guys, Donald and my dad put me in charge, so you do what I say, got it?" asked Max.
"Got it!" said the triplets.
"Good, now stay inside at all costs." Max said as he . "I'm gonna take a nap."
The minute Max fell asleep, the nephews ran to the backyard to think of a plan.
"What are we gonna do, fellas?" asked Huey. "Max is gonna kill us if he finds out we ruined his shirt."
"We could always just try to copy the signature." suggested Dewey.
"Nah, I barely remember what it looks like." Huey shook his head. "If only we could get Powerline's signature."
"Maybe we can!" Louie snapped his fingers. "Powerline is shooting a video here in Spoonerville. All we need to do is get him to sign the shirt and our problems will be solved."
"Quackaroonie!" Huey exclaimed. "One problem though; Max might wake up and get worried. What're we gonna do?"
"Don't worry!" Dewey said. "I'll keep him awake for as long as I can! You fellas go and get Powerline's autograph!"
"Thanks, Dewey." said Huey and Louie. "We'll be back in an hour."
While Dewey stayed behind to keep Max asleep, Huey and Louie went to the hotel that Powerline was staying at.
"Are you sure this is the hotel that Powerline is staying at?" Huey asked his brother.
"Of course." Dewey said. "After all, there aren't any other hotels here in Spoonerville."
The boys went inside and went to speak at the front desk.
"Can I help you, children?" asked the man at the desk.
"Yes, we'd like to see Powerline, please." said Huey.
"Do you have an appointment?" asked the man.
Huey struggled for an answer. "Well, uh...um..."
"We're from the Spoonerville Jr. High school paper and we are doing an interview with him." Louie fibbed.
"Nice try." said the concierge. "Get out."
The bellboy picked up the nephews and threw them out of the hotel.
"Well that backfired." Huey deadpanned. "Now what're we gonna do?"
"We'll just have to get creative about it!" Dewey proclaimed.
Back at the house, Dewey was making sure Max didn't wake up.
"Boy, he's a heavy sleeper." He thought. "Guess I've nothing to worry about."
Dewey took out his headphones and started listening to some music. As he was listening, Max was talking in his sleep.
"Oh Queen Roxanne, marry me and we'll be so happy..." He mumbled as he started kissing a pillow.
As Max was kissing the throw pillow, he rolled down and landed on the floor, waking him up.
"Huh? What?" He looked around and saw Dewey. "Dewey! Dewey!"
Dewey didn't hear or see Max as he was listening to his music. Noticing this, Max took off Dewey's headphones.
"DEWEY!" He shouted.
"Aah! What the?" Dewey jumped up. "Oh Max, did you have a nice sleep?"
"Never better." Max shrugged. "So anyways, now that I'm all rested and wide awake, wanna play catch or video games?"
"Sure, I'd love to." Dewey said.
"Hey wait a minute." Max said. "Where are Huey and Louie? I've almost never seen the three of you apart."
"Oh, they're upstairs in the bathroom, I mean, the closet, I mean, uh...playing hide and seek!" Dewey tried to lie. "Playing hide and seek!"
"Sounds like fun, but why aren't you looking for them?" asked Max.
"I am, just thought I needed to listen to some music to take a break." Dewey fibbed.
"Oh okay." Max went to reading a comic book. "Just find them before Dad and Donald get back."
"Whew, that was a close one." Louie sighed of relief.
Back at the hotel, Huey and Louie were hiding in a room service cart going to Powerline's room.
"You sure this is the cart going to Powerline's room?" Huey whispered.
"Positive." Louie nodded.
The man pushing the cart then knocked on Powerline's door and took it inside.
"Finally, I'm starving." He said as he lifted the silver platter covering and revealed the twins. "What the?"
"Powerline!" said the boys. "It's really you!"
"Yes, it's...me." Powerline said. "So, who are you and what're you doing in my hotel room?"
"We just came all the way to see you for our birthday and now, our dream has come true!" Louie said, excited. "Can we star in your video?"
Powerline responded. "Well, it's already been cast so-"
"Can you sing for us?" The boys asked again. "Can we sleep over? Can we do lunch? Can we have some merchandise? Can we take a picture with you? Will you sign our heads?"
"I guess I could give you some merchandise, but I really gotta get to work." Powerline said.
"Just one more thing!" Huey took the shirt out of his pocket. "Can you sign this for us?"
"Hey! That's my shirt!" Powerline grabbed the shirt. "Where did you get that?"
"We won it in a contest." Louie replied. "So will you sign it for us?"
"No, it's mine!" Powerline said. "You two had better leave before I call security!"
"Is something bothering you, sir?" Powerline's bodyguards asked as they came inside.
"Yes, it's these crazed fans." Powerline said.
"Ugh...the fifteenth time this week." The bodyguards sighed.
The guards grabbed the ducklings and threw them out of the hotel and out on the curb.
"Time to think of Plan B." said Huey.
Meanwhile, Max had been looking around the house for Huey and Louie.
"Huey! Louie! Where are you?" He called out. "Guys! Come on out!"
Max went over to Dewey and took off his headphones.
"Dewey, I can't find your brothers anywhere!" Max said. "I've searched all over the house and haven't seen them!"
"Oh, I'm pretty sure they're around here somewhere..." Dewey fibbed.
Max didn't buy it for one whole second. "Alright Dewey, I ain't playing no more games! Where are Huey and Louie?"
"Playin hide and seek?" Dewey quickly said. "Painting your treehouse! Coloring! Using the bathroom!"
"Now listen here you, I-" Max's phone rang and answered it. "Hello? Oh hey, Dad! What? You and Donald are on your way back now! 20 minutes? Okay! See ya then!"
"Uh oh..." Dewey gulped.
Back at the hotel, Huey and Louie had disguised themselves in a long hat, sunglasses and a trench coat to sneak onto the set of Powerline's video.
"If this doesn't get Powerline to sign the shirt, nothing will." Huey said as he closed the trench coat. "Forward, Louie!"
"Which way is that again?" asked Louie.
The boys wobbled over to Powerline, who was drinking a bottle of water on a chair with the lucky shirt
"There's the shirt." Louie pointed to the shirt. "Now's our chance."
The boys walked over to Powerline.
"Excuse us, I mean me, Mr. Powerline!" Huey tapped on Powerline's shoulder.
"Yes?" Powerline turned around.
"Hate to interrupt you, sir, but these need your signature." Huey handed the pop star a stack of 8x10 glossies.
"What're these for?" asked Powerline.
"They're for uh...your fan club!" Huey fibbed.
"Oh, okay." Powerline began signing the pictures.
While he was distracted, Louie snuck the shirt into the stack of photos, which Powerline quickly signed.
"Thank you, sir! We'll be going now!" Louie grabbed the shirt and then ran off.
"Whatever." Powerline shrugged. "Yo Chives, where is my ice water?"
Huey and Louie ran out of the hotel, satisfied with their accomplishment.
"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!" Huey exclaimed. "I can't believe we go away with this!"
"Yeah, better get back before Max wakes up!" Louie added.
At that same time, Max and Dewey were riding on Max's bicycle to the hotel.
"Those two had better be okay, because if they're not, my dad isn't just gonna ground me, I may never see the light of day again!" Max scolded Louie.
"Look out!" Dewey shouted.
"Huh?" Max turned around and saw Huey and Louie with the the shirt.
"Aaaaahhhh!!!" They all shouted.
Thankfully, Max managed to avoid running over the boys at the last second.
"Hey fellas, out for a walk, huh?" Max glared at them.
"Uh oh." The nephews gulped.
"Hop on!" Max demanded.
Max and the boys went back to Goofy's place, where the triplets told them the whole truth.
"...and that's the whole truth." The boys finished.
"So, let me get this straight..." said Max "You three ruined my Powerline shirt and snuck out while I was sleeping?"
"Sorry, Max..." the boys sighed.
"You're not mad at us, are you?" asked Huey.
"Well, I am pretty upset with you guys for tricking me, but you still tried to fix what you did and I'm glad you told me, I guess I can let guys off the hook." Max said.
"And just in time, too." Huey added. "Look!"
The door opened to reveal Donald and Goofy dressed in warrior outfits.
"Oh boys, we're back!" Donald said.
"Hey Goofy, hey Uncle Donald!" said the nephews.
"Did you boys sneak out while we were gone?" Goofy waved his finger at the boys.
The boys gasped.
"Just kidding!" Goofy chuckled.
"Come on, boys." Donald grabbed Huey, Dewey and Louie. "Time to go home."
"Okay." said the nephews. "Bye Goofy, bye Max!"
"See ya!" Goofy and Max waved goodbye as Donald and the nephews drove back to Duckburg.
"So dad, what were you and Donald doing, anyways?" Max asked his dad.
"Oh nothing special." Goofy shrugged and walked upstairs. "Just some business stuff."
The very next day, Max was showing PJ his Powerline shirt.
"...so Peej, as you can plainly see, this is Powerline's real, authentic first concert shirt!" Max boasted. "Worn by Powerline himself."
PJ looked at the shirt and started to chuckle. "Are you sure that belongs to Powerline or does that belong to his baby son?"
"What're you talking about?" Max asked as he took a look at the shirt.
He saw the shirt and it had completely shrunk in the wash. It was no bigger than a doll's dress.
"BOYS!!!" He screamed to the heavens.
THE END!
