I biked home with the same silly grin on my face, the impression and intrigue I stole off of him channeled itself into my own experience. All I swapped was the feeling, not thoughts or motives. If I took someone's rage, I would be angry about my own issues, rather than be on their side. Because of this, I couldn't get the stranger off my mind.

A lot of these things I learned the hard way, I didn't mean to be selfish as a kid, but having powers in your bratty teenage phase made you try anything just to be understood.

I turned the corner to my apartment building and jumped off my bike before I began to stop, trotting to a stop with the momentum. I was grateful to the stranger for swapping with me, no one's ever offered for me to take their emotions for my sake before.

With the bags laced into the crook of my arms, I took the steps two at a time, eager to get my damage control over with.

However, as soon as I got into the door, my phone buzzed obnoxiously, rattling against something. I quickly put my things down and patted my pockets, realizing I had left my phone charging on the counter this whole time. I leaped for it, swiping to answer it while fumbling to unplug the cable.

"H-Hello?" I answered, recovering from my less than graceful dance to answer.

"Hey~ho! Kei~ko!" The cheery voice on the other end sang, bringing a melancholic smile to my face. Mora. "How ya' doin', raincloud?"

"Hey, Sprout." My little sister Mora's name meant "sprout", which was awfully fitting since she converted sunlight into energy for her quirk. The sun, walking on earth, Mora was chronically happy. "More partly cloudy than rainy today, believe it or not."

"Really? That's great! 'Cause we had to go over our families quirks, we were learning about quirk family trees and how they develop from parent to kid? Anyways!" She was a rambler, but it was hard to get annoyed when she was the perfect amount of sweet and self aware. "I told 'em about Mom and Dad, they already knew about Dad of course, and then I told them about you and Benjiro!" She said his name like it was nothing, like what he did didn't turn our world upside down. "Then Mr. Aizawa, who's frickin' Eraserhead! Can you believe it? He ended up showing our papers to , the principal, and he wants you to come in!" She paused, I wasn't sure if to catch her breath or finally let me get a word in.

After a moment I realized it was my turn to talk.

"Oh jeez, why me? When?" I stammered, what would UA, the most prestigious school this side of Japan, want to do with me, a failed therapist?

"Like, right now. Like, I'm with Aizawa and Principal Nezu right now. Waiting for you." I blinked twice, taking in the fact that in one day, I stopped a potential stabbing and now I'm going to UA to meet some of the biggest heroes in the world.

"I.. I uh, they know I only have a bike right? I'll be a while. I-I need to clean up I-" I scurried to the bathroom to make myself look at least a bit presentable, before Mora spoke up.

"Oh! Don't worry about that, Mr. Aizawa shows up to class in a sleeping bag sometimes! You don't gotta worry about impressing anyo- Oh, sorry!" She leaned away from the phone, chatting with the others, presumably getting scolded for outing his lax teaching attire.

"Anyways, don't worry about biking either! They sent a car and a student to guide you, they should be there now!" And as if on cue, a horn beeped outside, running to the window, I saw a black car with tinted windows, and a boy with red and white split hair in a UA uniform standing by.

"Oh damn. UA works quick huh." I noted, turning for the door, grabbing my essentials and shoving them into my small backpack purse.

"They really do! I'll see ya soon, Ko!" She signed off, as always getting distracted and forgetting to hang up the phone, chatting away with the others. For her privacy, I hung up the phone and ran out to meet the student and head over to the school.

We rolled up to the school, and despite my sister going here, I had never even seen the building in person, let alone gone inside. The red and white haired boy, who sat in polite silence the whole ride, got out of the car first and held the door open for me.

"Ah, thank you." I scooted over to exit his way, giving him a thankful smile. "You didn't have to but, quite kind of you."

He shrugged, "It's the polite thing to do." he spoke with a steady, yet pleasant matter of fact tone. Turning to lead us towards the school, he again walked in silence, allowing us through the armored gates and onto the school grounds.

"So, you're one of my sister's classmates? What's your name?" I asked in an effort to alleviate some awkwardness. I wanted to gain my sister's trust again, be family with the only one I had left, making a good impression on her friends would only help.

The boy kept pace as he answered. "Shoto Todoroki, you're Keiko Kento."

"Just Ko is fine." I smiled, the nickname felt more my own, I decided to go by it since the accident as a fresh start.

"Hm, Ko it is then." He smiled slightly before it dropped in thought. We reached the door before he spoke again, opening it for me once more. "Mora's quite... upbeat huh?"

"Oh?" The question caught me off guard for a moment, then I chuckled. "Oh yeah, I've always called her 'terminally positive', she can't help it though." I pushed my hair back and out of my face, walking backwards as we moved through the hall. He cocked his head at my last point, confused. "Her quirk? She recharges in the sun?"

"I know that. She channels the sun's energy into a beam with massive firepower, right?" He asked, which he wasn't wrong, she could definitely do that.

"No, you're right. It's also her quirk's passive ability." I spun on my heel to face the proper direction as we began to climb the stairs. "She channels the sun into raw power, but also into pure happiness. She's like a sunflower, blooming and thriving when facing the sun, closing and wilting when it's away." I explained, watching his face as he took in this info, I hoped I wasn't betraying her by explaining it but, usually she's an open book. He was hard to read but, I could've sworn his cheeks rose with heat a little before I looked away again. "As long as it's sunny, so is she, and it rubs off on the people around her." I shrugged. "You really can't help it."

"No, I-we really can't" He said with finality, a smile playing at his features. "Anyways, here we are." He gestured to a door, with a sign designating it as the principal's office, with a door knob far too low for a normal adult.

"Thank you for showing me the way, it was nice to meet you, Shoto."

"You as well, Ko."

And with that, I opened the door to what could either be the rest of my life, or the end of it.
