(Katarina - PoV)

So much for the Demacian Elite.

I shimmy my way into a stack of crates and settle down to wait.

To be fair, this was obviously not a planned camp. They got orders to fall back suddenly, then move forward, then wait for reinforcements. Multiple contradictory commands from multiple commanders, at least some of which were idiots. Like Demacia's oh so noble Council of morons.

I certainly shouldn't complain though, not when said Council has done so much good work for Noxus. I wonder if Swain will award them medals posthumously?

I flicker the mirror, activating the connection for just a moment to signal that I am ready. Garen should bring our forces along momentarily.

Honestly, as usual it is complete overkill. This is a significant chunk of the Vanguard for certain, but they lack Champion support of their own for some reason, probably politics, while we have five. If they fight it out? It's only going to end one way. But there is no sense in taking chances.

Sitting quietly on a sack of potatoes, I wait until the shouts of alarm echo through the camp. Sounds like the fun is about to begin.

(Garen - PoV)

We approach the camp in formation, once more making no attempt to hide, with only Kat sent ahead to infiltrate. We advance steadily but slowly, allowing the Demacian's plenty of time to form up. It won't help, and their ranks will be broken in an instant if they decide to fight.

I stop the advance once we are at a reasonable distance, and walk forward alone to parley. As we thought, looks like a full three Shields of the Vanguard are before us, a third of their overall strength.

There is some hesitation amongst the lines before a figure steps forth to meet with me. Ah, Shield-Sergeant Merrek.

"Sergeant Merrek," I address him once we are in reasonable speaking distance.

"Captain Garen," Well, that is interesting. Have they not replaced me?

I sigh. If only he was more unreasonable, another hateful mindless Demacian zealot. But I trained my men better than that, as best I could at least.

"There are a great many men in Demacia I want to kill, my old unit is not among them. I don't suppose you would be willing to stand down? I can promise good treatment until the war's end, whereupon everyone will be released with no prejudice."

I trust in their honor enough to provide a minimal guard to escort them back to Noxian lines. They are my men, once they surrender, they won't go back on it without damn good reason.

"I'm afraid we can't do that sir, Champion or no Champion, Sword-Captain or no Sword-Captain. Our duty demands no less." Merrek answers.

Unfortunate, but I had to make the offer. All the recent events could shake many a man's faith in their country.

"Not even with all the recent news? Even Jarvan himself wasn't willing to fight us after finding out everything the kingdom's bastards have been up to behind his back."

"Sorry sir, we haven't been allowed to keep up with the news recently, no soldiers are. Council's orders," he replies.

"...Of course they would, corrupt self-serving bastards," I mutter.

I sigh once more.

"I've given the order to my men to show mercy to those who surrender, but you know how battle can be Merrek."

"I do sir."

With a final nod, we return to our respective lines.

A pity I'm going to have to kill him. I expect Kat and Lux will pick off the other two Shield-Sergeants, but I will deal with Merrek myself.

Alas, no sense in getting caught up in regrets.

"Remember men, show mercy to those who surrender, cut down those who don't. Do not underestimate them, these are not untrained peasant levies, but the Demacian elite, they are every bit as good as you, if not better. My family will break their lines, you just have clean up duty. For Noxus!"

"For Noxus!" echos back.

I gesture to Lux, and a huge glowing orb forms in the Northern flank of the enemy. They move to shift away from it but are too slow to react. A moment later a beam of light strikes it and-

-*KABOOM*-

Their entire flank is shattered, bodies flying in every direction.

"Tibbers, go!" Annie's cherubic voice calls out from the rear.

The thrown doll transforms into a massive, fiery projectile mid-flight, landing amongst the largest concentration of troops remaining, burning them to cinders and liquifying armor instantly. The surrounding scattered, blinded troops suddenly find themselves having to attempt to rally in the face of a gargantuan nightmare bear of hellfire and death.

It goes poorly for them.

I begin my charge, our army slowly advancing behind me.

"For Dema-"

The Southern flanks Sergeant's rally is cutoff as Kat Shunpo's next to him, her blade cutting open his throat. Within moments every soldier within a dozen meters of him joins him in death as she turns into a whirlwind of dancing blades and flying daggers, opening another massive gap in the line.

Merrek sees both flanks of his army fall to ruin and knows they have lost. But defeat was never in doubt in the first place. He leads a counter charge directly at me.

My first blow shatters his sword and cuts deep into his chest, driving him to his knees. He manages to draw a dagger and slashes at my wrist as I behead him.

I backhand the soldier to the left, crushing his breastplate, and kick the man that was behind Merrek, driving him backward and bowling over several others.

The Vanguard surrounds me. A pity for them.

*ShingShingShingShingShing*

Once more, surrounded by blood and body parts, I take in the field. Our army has engaged the men that remain on the Southern flank and are easily overwhelming them with Katarina's help. The Northern flank is...well. There isn't a Northern flank. Tibbers is stuffing what seems to be the last screaming soldier down his gullet.

Good, everything seems to have gone according to pl-

!*!*!*!*!

An unearthly scream echos over the battle, overwhelming everything else, as the sky suddenly glows with dark violet energy.

Morgana!

Spinning back around, I rush towards our rear lines!

(Lux - PoV)

Boom! Hahahahaha, look at them fly! Oh, I've been waiting to use that one, combination attacks are so cool!

Oh, Annie is letting Tibbers off his leash too!

Wow, that was like a meteor...I want that. Oh Big Siiiiis...

"Get em Tibbers!" Annie cheers on her abomination.

"Yeah, go Tibbers! Eat that bitch! Woooo!" I join her in supporting team murderbear.

Yea, this is great.

I fire off lasers at anyone who looks to be trying to organize, Annie gets to tag a few stragglers with fireballs, and the Noxians sit back and watch. Friendly fire isn't friendly, who knew?

It's great to finally get to put all that training to good use, and finally get some revenge on these bastards for all the shit they've done over the years, to me and everyone else.

Some sort of commotion behind us draws my attention away from the spectacle.

"What's up guys?" I ask, turning around.

*Thud*

Fucking ow, the hell was that?

I look down.

There's a bolt sticking out of my chest.

Oh.

That brings back memories.

I look back up and see the bitch.

...

I raise my arm to blast her and another bolt hits it, pinning my hand to the wagon.

...

A third bolt hits me in the shoulder as I fall.

I don't...I don't feel so good.
