"Zordon, Billy, the interference from the dimensional tear has cleared" said Alpha excitedly.
"Good. Observe the viewing globe" said Zordon.
Billy and Alpha turned to look at the viewing globe. It showed an image of the Zeo Megazord battling a feminine-looking robot. Billy winced as the Zeo Megazord was blasted by pink energy beams.
"Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi!" Alpha exclaimed. "Sensor readings indicate that robot came through the tear."
"It's from another dimension?" Billy asked, his curiousity piqued.
"That's right. I'm also picking up life signs coming from inside it."
The image on the viewing globe changed to show the robot's pilot. To their surprise it was a young Japanese woman in a white jumpsuit with a matching helmet.
"This is all a mistake" Billy said. "We've got to stop this."
"Quite right Billy" Zordon agreed. "Alpha, teleport the Rangers here and return the Zeo Zords to the hanger."
"Yes Zordon." Alpha pressed a few keys and the Zeo Rangers were immediately teleported into the Power Chamber.
"Huh? Zordon, what's going on?" Tommy asked.
"Rangers, the robot you fought is not one of King Mondo's monsters" he explained. "Billy is contacting its pilot now."
Indeed, Billy was saying something in Japanese over the comm system. On the viewing globe the Rangers saw who he was talking to.
"Wow, she's pretty" said Rocky. The other Rangers all murmured in agreement.
"Alpha, prepare to teleport Yumi-san to the Power Chamber" said Zordon. "Billy, let her know something strange is about to occur."
A moment later Sayaka was teleported into the Power Chamber in a beam of white light. She yelped and looked around in alarm.
"What's going on? How did I get here?" she said in Japanese. Then her eyes widened as she noticed Zordon and Alpha.
"Do not be afraid. I am Zordon, an interdimensional being caught in a time-warp" he said, the Power Chamber's computers automatically translating his words.
"And my name is Alpha 5" Alpha added, his words also translated.
"And I'm Billy. It's okay, you're among friends. I apologise for the attack on you. My friends mistook your robot for one of our enemies."
Good thing I learned Japanese for that trip to Tokyo he thought.
She nodded. I see. "Did you think I was one of Dr. Hell's minions?"
Billy looked confused. "I'm afraid we've never heard of anyone called Dr. Hell."
"What?"
"You have been transported to another dimension Yumi-san" Zordon explained. "In some ways it may be similar to your own but in others it may be very different."
Sayaka nodded again as she processed the information. She had read theories about the possible existence of other dimensions but had never imagined she'd end up going to one.
Father will be fascinated by this she thought. Then she frowned. Father, Koji-kun. Do they know I'm all right?
She was brought out of her troubled thoughts as Zordon asked, "Do you have any idea how this happened?"
"I was testing a new Photon Power cell. It overloaded and there was a bright flash. When my eyes cleared, I was flying over a city I didn't recognise."
"What is Photon Power?" Billy asked.
"It's an energy source my father's been working on" Sayaka replied. "My father intended it to provide a brighter future for the world but Dr. Hell wants to use it to conquer the Earth."
Billy frowned. Intellectually of course he knew there were many humans capable of great evil, but it was still disconcerting to think of a regular man in the same category as the likes of Rita, Zedd and the Machine Empire.
"That must be what caused this. The power overload tore a hole between dimensions and you went through it."
"What about Venus A?" Sayaka asked. On seeing Billy's puzzled look, she hastily added, "that's my robot. Is it still out in the open?"
"Do not worry. Your robot was teleported to the same hanger where we store our Zeo Zords. It will be perfectly safe there" Zordon reassured her.
"Thank you" she replied. "Wait, teleportation? You can do that?"
"Hey wait a minute" Rocky blurted out. He was getting frustrated at not being able to understand what was being said. "What are we, furniture?"
"Rocky, be nice" Kat chided.
"Sorry guys," said Billy. "This is Yumi Sayaka. She and her robot, Venus A, are from another dimension. She protects the world just like we do." He turned to Sayaka and said, "these are the Zeo Power Rangers. They defend the Earth from evil."
Just like Koji-kun and Mazinger Z Sayaka thought. "Nice to meet you" she said as she bowed politely.
"Likewise," said Tommy once Billy had translated. "Uh, sorry we attacked you."
"It's okay. It was just a misunderstanding" she replied, again after Billy told her what had been said.
"Anyway, we've been analysing the dimensional tear" said Billy. "Once we've completed our scan, we should be able to send you home."
Sayaka sighed in relief. "Thank you so much" she replied.
Neither the Rangers or their new friend had any idea that at that very moment, King Mondo was preparing to unleash another attack upon Angel Grove.
"Well Clank, has Mean Screen's new software been uploaded?"
"Yes sire. The new computer virus will completely paralyse the Zeo Megazord once introduced into its systems."
"Excellent! Mean Screen, head down to Earth immediately!"
