Over the next 2 days I packed up everything I needed for camp. I was nervous and worried because I was on my own and once summer ended I would have to go back to the foster home where I would be executed. The police could only think of something that would only save me just for the summer but I was grateful for that but I still couldn't enjoy myself over everything that had happened.
When I finished packing up on June 5th, they took me to Maine where Camp Kikiwaka was. It took a day to get from Indiana to Maine because they didn't drive at night. When we got to the camp entrance, me and the 2 policemen said our goodbyes and they left. It was now June 6th.
I took a deep breath and went into the camp. I was on my own. My cousins were dead, my sisters were gone, and my friends (the 5 police officers) couldn't see me anymore and I was still depressed and stressed out.
I was very nervous. I took another deep breath and I signed in at the registration table. The owner's name was Gladys and she was not a nice person and neither was her niece Hazel. They told me I was in the Grizzly cabin. Apparently a group of people stayed in each cabin and every cabin was named after an animal and I stayed in the Grizzly Cabin. I walked through the door of the cabin and noticed all the bunks were taken except for the one in the corner so I took that one.
Three guys then walked over to me, and I felt a bit uneasy on the inside.
"Hi I'm Xander.'' The tallest one said, shaking my hand. "I'm Ravi." "And I'm Jorge." said a dark-skinned boy and a boy around my age with glasses and curly hair. "H-hi." I said nervously.
"What's your name?" asked Ravi.
"I'm Rayley." I replied.
"Riley?" Jorge asked. I almost cried over this for obvious reasons.
"No Rayley." I said in an upset voice.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." he apologized. "It's okay." I said, feeling a bit better. Ravi Jorge and I made our beds and learned our way around the camp. I got to know both of them well.
Ravi was the counselor in training for Grizzly cabin but wasn't very popular and he had a lizard named Mrs. Kipling and Jorge sometimes told lies and had really bad hygiene. I also met and got to know Emma, a rich city girl that wasn't very intelligent and she was Ravi's sister, Zuri, Ravi and Emma's younger sister. Even though all 3 were rich she was greedy with money, Tiffany, a very smart 10 year old but studies a bit too much and Lou a country girl who smiled so much that it was often creepy.
I quickly became friends with them and I got to know them very well even though it's the first day here for everyone, not just me. They don't know what happened to me and my siblings though.
Even though I got to know them I didn't really know Xander that well. All I know is he's the consoler of my cabin. He's athletic and a lot of girls call him handsome, but I was still friends with him. I just didn't know him as well as I got to know the others.
That night everyone was sitting around the fire. I was sitting between Ravi and Zuri. Xander had finished playing his guitar and we all clapped our hands. Hazel was sitting next to him. Apparently she has a major crush on him but she is really crazy. My foster parents were about as crazy as she is. If you want to know how crazy they were just think of Hazel.
"Xander, that was awesome. Can I have your pick?" she asked. He said yes and gave it to her and she kissed it. This made Ravi gag.
He told me that Xander told him that he used his toenail that fell off when he got a fungus in the shower as his guitar pick. That was disgusting.
Emma and Lou came out of the woodchuck cabin. That was Emma, Lou, Zuri, and Tiffany's cabin and they were talking about something they could do during freetime the next day but I wasn't really paying attention.
"Woah I think I'm in love." I heard Xander say. "Finally, let's get married after the tetherball tournament." Hazel said and they both stood up. Hazel leaned in for a kiss but instead of kissing her Xander walked right past her.
Ha! Ejection! Face it Hazel it's never gonna happen. Huh, my first happy moment since April. DON'T TALK ABOUT APRIL OR MAY!
Anyway Xander walked over to… Emma?
Oh, I see what's going on. "Hi I'm Xander." "I'm Emma." "I'm Nauseous."
I turned to Hazel when she said that. "Aw looks like cupid just shot an arrow." Lou cooed. The moment was ruined when Hazel said this. "I hope it goes in her eye and out her ear."
Cringing, Lou walked over to Emma and Xander. "Little woodchuck wisdom don't go to the archery range with her." she advised making a motion to Hazel, who just smiled creepily.
Then Gladys came blowing her whistle. "Campers. Welcome to Camp Kikiwaka." she announced and then she pointed at a boy about a few years younger then me.
"Except for you Timmy. Your parent's check bounced. You can sleep by the front gate. Hopefully they'll pick you up in the morning." she shrugged. Then these two guys picked him up and carried him away. Then she clapped her hands and did a pose. Something made of fur was put on her back and Hazel did the same pose she did. "Uh what's happening?" I asked. Zuri had a weirded out look on her face.
"Ki-ki-wa-ka." she chanted. Then everyone except for me Emma Ravi Zuri and Tiffany stood up and did the same pose and started chanting with her. "Ki-ki-wa-ka." "What's happening?" I asked, starting to freak out a bit. "Ki-ki-wa-ka." She chanted again but this time spun in a circle. "Ki-ki-wa-ka." Everyone repeated and spun in a circle too.
"What's happening?" I squeaked in an extra high pitched voice. Zuri was now cringing.
"Okay this is a cult." Ravi told me. He then stood up. "Taxi."
"We pay homage to Kikiwaka." Gladys continued as everyone sat back down. "The giant ravenous demon beast who roams these woods." Heh?
"Say what now?" Zuri asked. "Ki-ki-wa-ka." Gladys repeated and inched towards us which made all of us flinch. "Hear me and leave these campers in peace." Oh, and did I mention that she has a tambourine?
"Did she just say 'in pieces?'" Emma asked Xander worriedly.
"With the blessing of Kikiwaka our summer revels commence." Gladys said. She stood up straight and dropped the tambourine and fur thing.
"Remember to pick up your trash." She said annoyed and left.
"Tiffany, aren't you scared of the Kikiwaka?" Zuri asked her. "Nope. Nothing's scarier than my mom if I don't get in an A." she replied
Clearly, she has not lived my life. "Oh if I had known about this, I would have taken my chances back in Indiana." Ravi Jorge Zuri, Tiffany Lou Emma and Xander all looked at me. Oh god! I said that out loud! I wasn't supposed to do THAT! "Uh." I stammered. Luckily Hazel walked over to Emma and Xander. Oh phew but I don't think I can tell them yet.
"Listen cheekbones. Xander is mine." Hazel said to Emma.
"No I'm not." Xander said, standing up and holding up his hands. "So you should go back to New York before one of those long legs ends up in a bear trap. See you at the friendship circle." Hazel smiled and walked away.
"She's not really good with new people." Lou told Emma. "Or old people or any people." she continued pointing and Xander nodded.
Yep, that's my foster parents.
The next day everyone was supposed to do an obstacle course. Because this was an event we all wore special clothes; they were shirts with our cabin name and our team color. Since grizzly cabin is a boys cabin the color is light blue so me, Xander Ravi and Jorge are wearing light blue shirts with the word 'grizzly' on them. It's like that for every cabin.
Like for Emma Zuri Lou and Tiffany their shirts are purple with the word 'woodchuck' on them. You get it? Also, I'm the only grizzly wearing jeans and not shorts. Sometimes they call a camper by the name of whatever cabin they are in. Like I'm in grizzly cabin so sometimes they call me a grizzly or you call Lou a woodchuck. Anyway Gladys came on the intercom. "Attention campers. Time for the obstacle course. The winning cabin gets to have a pizza party while I just continue the obstacle course that is my life."
You try having your 5 cousins executed saying goodbye to your 3 sisters or having your only brother abandon you. Oh, and if it wasn't clear yet the ones that were executed were Clive Neil Matthew Colin and Adam.
Also, I think Emma was shot by an arrow but she ducked and it missed. I think Hazel shot it but I wasn't paying attention.
When the obstacle course started we were supposed to have an egg race but Ravi could not pick up his egg. After that failed we were supposed to climb up and over a slanted net.
Jorge and I were the first ones to get down and Xander helped us (mainly me) climb up. We went around the net and saw that Ravi was tangled in it.
"Ravi, what are you doing?" Jorge asked him. "Obviously as your counselor in training I am demonstrating what not to do." He responded. "Dude you're embarrassing Grizzly cabin and men in general!" Jorge exclaimed.
"And I thought I was weak." I muttered. They heard me but didn't say anything. "I think Ravi's doing great." Xander said, putting one hand on Jorge's shoulder and the other hand on my shoulder. "Considering he could barely pick up his egg for the egg race."
"It was a jumbo! What do they feed those chickens?" Ravi said defensively. By now Xander had taken his hands off our shoulders
Anyway later we were supposed to walk on a rope above some mud without falling off. It was like a highwire act but much lower and there was a rope for you to hold on too.
Lou Zuri and Tiffany already did it and Emma was halfway there.
"That's my bunk buddy, people." Lou said happily and pointed. "Hey Emma catch." Hazel shouted and threw a ball at Emma which knocked her into the mud. Everyone except for me Xander Ravi Jorge Lou Zuri and Tiffany started to laugh. "Let's see how Xander likes little miss perfect now." Hazel sniggered. "Emma!" Xander exclaimed and went right over to her. "Emma, are you okay?" He asked, helping her out of the mud.
"Well I'm better than those worms I just fell on." She replied. Then Xander used a rag or something to wipe some of the mud off of her and he got some of it on himself.
Lou turned to Hazel. "A pretty girl covered in mud and you thought he wasn't gonna like that? What's next you hand her a tray of hot wings and have her turn on football?" See I told you she smiled so much that it was often creepy. Hazel pouted and walked away and Lou turned to Emma while still holding that creepy smile.
After the obstacle course was finished I walked back into the cabin. Ravi and Jorge were in the mess hall which is where everyone eats their breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then Xander walked into the cabin.
"Hey Rayley." He greeted me. "Hey. Wait, why is your shirt all muddy?" I asked, temporarily forgetting something. "Oh yeah you helped Emma after Hazel knocked her into the mud." I remembered. "Yeah and some of it got on my shirt." He replied. "Oh I thought it was just on your arms." he took off his shirt in front of me and I noticed something. "Wait, you have a six pack?" I asked, trying not to sound weird.
"Oh yeah I got a lot of upper body strength." I chuckled. "Unlike Ravi." he smiled. "Yeah he really doesn't and sorry if me being shirtless makes you feel uncomfortable." He apologized. "No it doesn't." I said. He smiled again. "Ok but can you hand me that shirt over there please?" He pointed to a shirt that was on his bed. I went onto his bed and got the shirt for him.
Wait, how big is this thing? It's like a large size.
I gave him the shirt and sat on his bed. "Thanks Rayley." he said. He put the shirt on and sat on the bed beside me.
I decided to ask him something I was thinking.
"Xander, how old are you?" I asked, trying not to sound rude. "I'm 17." he replied. That explains the size of the shirt. "What about you?" He asked me. "I'm only 11. You're older than me by 6 years." I responded. If I wasn't gonna die in September, my 12th birthday would have been next February on the 27th. Even if I live to see it, it just won't be the same without Riley. Oh, and uh Rebecca Lily Clive Neil Matthew Colin Lily and Adam too of course. At this point I've gotten used to having a birthday without Camilo. "Oh okay." Xander replied, pulling me out of my thoughts. "You know I've only been here for a day but I think that you're the coolest guy here." I said. "Thanks." he said. "I've only known you for a day but you're already one of the nicest kids I've ever met." He added. "Thank you." I replied. What happened next was a bit embarrassing. Basically he tried to give me a fist bump but I didn't know what it was and I thought he was trying to punch me. He chuckled and told me what it really was.
I was a bit embarrassed after that. I was going to say something else I was thinking but I was a bit embarrassed to say it so I covered it up by saying how I thought he was the coolest guy at camp again.
What I was really going to say was that even though I only knew him for a day he was kinda like my role model. You see my sisters, cousins and I were only apart by 2 months at most so we were basically the same age. As for the police officers since our foster parents didn't really care for us the 5 that were not corrupt took the role of parent figures. There were 2 specific ones that took those roles but I'll explain that later. But because of that we didn't have anyone for a role model or for an older sibling figure but Xander was kinda like that to me. Another thing is I kinda looked up to him and as much as I hate putting these 2 words together he was kinda like a big brother to me. Because the age difference between me and my siblings was only a few months that is why I said no one felt like an older sibling to us but Xander felt like a big brother to me. I was too embarrassed to tell him that because I only knew him for a day so that's why I covered it up.
Well that and they still don't know what happened to me and my siblings. He thanked me for saying that and ruffled my hair but I didn't have a problem with it. That's another reason why I looked up to him because he actually did that to me twice: once yesterday and once today. Twice today if you count this time. He actually helped me out and had my back during the whole obstacle course too.
And that is when he ruffled my hair. I was also embarrassed just to tell him he was my role model for 2 reasons.
One, he was 6 years older than me because he was 17 and I was 11 and 2, he towers over me. Like the top of my head is slightly shorter than the bottom of his armpits. Or we were both sitting in the same place on his bed and my feet were dangling off of the bed frame, but his feet were on the floor. I'm not kidding. Well he's also 6 years older and that much taller than Jorge but I don't know if Xander is like a role model or a big brother to him.
Anyway after we were done talking, Jorge and Ravi came back into the cabin. I think I just got to know him as well as the others. That night Xander Ravi and Jorge were playing pool in the mess hall but I was just watching. Before Ravi and Jorge got there I told Xander that I didn't know how to play. He asked me if I wanted him to teach me but I told him I didn't want to play and he said I could watch. Then he, Jorge and Ravi started playing.
Jorge then moved the table so that he could win after he missed. "Yes. I win." he said. "No you do not." Ravi pointed out. "You moved the table." "Hey. All's fair in love and pool." Jorge said. "That is not a saying." Ravi replied. "It is on Planet Zorb." Jorge said. Oh Jorge claims that he was abducted by aliens and that they took him to their planet to invite him for lunch. I don't know if it's true or if he's crazy but he told Xander and Ravi this right before I first walked into the cabin yesterday. Wow it's already been a day since I first got here and since I last saw Jonathan and Nickolas.
Oh, right I haven't told you guys yet. I'll explain who they are later.
"Dude why are you such a buzzkill?" Jorge asked Ravi.
"I am not a killer of the buzz. As your counselor in training, it is my duty to teach you and Rayley to follow the rules."
"Bro you just defined buzzkill." Xander told Ravi and Jorge gave Ravi a look. Then Hazel walked into the mess hall. "Hey Xander. I made you hot wings. Wanna bite?" She asked as she put the wings on a table and walked towards us with a smirk.
Xander turned to us with a look of nervousness on his face. "I don't think she's talking about the wings." he told us nervously. Ravi patted him on the back and stood next to us. Then Lou started dragging Tiffany inside the mess hall because she cared more about finishing her college applications.
Then Lou noticed Xander. "Xander? You're supposed to be with Emma, why are you here?" Hazel turned to Lou. "Because he'd rather be with me." she told her.
"I never said that." Xander said nervously and defensively. "Did anybody hear me say that?" he exclaimed, making a motion for anyone to answer.
"Emma went to the spot because you sent her that note telling her to meet you there." The spot is this clearing in the woods. The counselors say it's where kids go to chat. They emphasize 'chat' but I don't believe them.
In fact, after I was done talking to Xander earlier Zuri told me that when Lou told her, Emma and Tiffany about the spot she imitated people doing the thing that they do to have babies. Wait, where is Zuri?
"I didn't send her any note." He spoke. In fact I think that note was sent when he and I were bonding earlier. Or at least I think it was bonding.
"Uh oh this woodchuck." Lou sniffed. "Smells a rat." She got in her face and Xander put one arm on his hip. "Oh that is Jorge. He refuses to shower." Ravi said and Jorge shrugged his shoulders.
"Gee who would want to send Emma out into the woods. I'm looking at you Hazel right where your soul should be." said Lou and got up her face.
"Emma's not alone. She's with Zuri." Said Tiffany from where she was sitting. So that answers my earlier question.
"That's right Violet. That mean little girl is gone." She said in a baby voice to a violin case she was carrying. Oh, she calls her violin Violet.
"Why don't you all leave so Xander, and I can play a little 9 ball." Hazel said before jumping on the table. Ravi then covered mine and Jorge's eyes.
"No." Xander said firmly, putting his pool stick on the table. "There will be no racking. We have to go find Emma and Zuri."
Hazel sighed. "Oh okay. Let's use the buddy system. I pick Xander!" She grabbed Xander's arm and dragged him out of the Mess Hall. The rest of us followed close behind. We were in the woods looking for Emma and Zuri and we were all given flashlights to help look. "Emma! Zuri!" We all began to shout their names.
"Uh oh." Jorge said worriedly and pointed his flashlight at something. "I see something really scary." Tiffany and I tensed up. "Is it my mom?" "Is it Cory and Kendall?" We both asked in fear. I got a few weird looks from the others. Oh no.
Don't say anything. Don't say anything. Don't say anything! "Nope. It's a giant footprint." he said nervously and a few of us looked over. Oh phew, they're ignoring me.
Wait… wow that came out wrong.
Then Xander heard something and shushed us. We heard this monster roar and we all screamed. Ravi jumped into Lou's arms and Jorge and Tiffany hugged each other.
Even though Hazel gripped onto Xander he still stepped in front of me protectively.
We heard the monster roar again and we all screamed and ran. But this time we ran into Emma and Zuri. Emma even actually bumped into Xander.
"Ow Emma." "Xander." They both said happily and hugged each other.
"Yay we found her." Hazel said flatly and sarcastically. We all stared at her. "I still cannot believe you sent my sisters off in the woods to become Kikiwaka kabobs." Ravi exclaimed. I can. "You sent Emma that note?" Zuri questioned in disbelief.
"Uh so first you shoot an arrow at me then you knock me into the mud and then you send me off into the woods to die. I'm starting to think you don't like me." First, if I were you and Hazel was Alfred Jesse or Alfred's brothers I would assume that after the first one. And second, you think that is bad?! You didn't have your psychopathic cousin try to murder you and your 3 sisters last July 5th. You didn't wake up 1 morning when you were 5 to see that your only brother was gone without any kind of note. You didn't watch as your 5 male cousins who are like your brothers were slowly and painfully executed. You didn't hear their screaming and their crying. You didn't have to say goodbye to the 4 sisters that you formed a team with. We heard the monster growl again. "It's coming. Get up the tree." Xander ordered. Jorge and I began to climb up the tree and we both yelped after Hazel grabbed us and threw us onto the ground and started to climb up herself. The others just stared. Lou helped Jorge up and Xander helped me up. Both up off the ground and up the tree since I didn't know how to climb up one.
We were all in the tree refusing to get down and hanging on tight. Hazel then started singing. "Xander and Hazel sitting in a tree."
"G-A-G-G-I-N-G." Lou finished with a disgusted look on her face. "No one told me there was going to be a spelling bee." Tiffany exclaimed. Okay I did not know what a fistbump was until earlier today and even I knew what she meant. We heard the monster growl again and we all screamed again. Jorge exclaimed something in Spanish, I think. Then Tiffany exclaimed something in a different language. And then Ravi exclaimed something in another different language. Emma groaned. "Ravi, we are not doomed." She groaned. "You understood him?" I asked nervously and in confusion.
"Ravi panics a lot so I picked up a little Hindi." she said to me. I'm pretty sure it's the Kikiwaka but we heard it growl again. And we screamed again. "Oh my god! I can't die for real this time!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Oh crap I said that out loud again and they're starting to look at me.
Emma took a deep breath. "Okay look. Everyone needs to calm down. I'm going to get us out of this." Oh phew, that stopped them from looking at me.
"Why should we listen to you ya boyfriend snatcher." Hazel asked rudely.
"Because everything you put me through has taught me I am tougher than I thought, now let's scare this thing off!"
"Good idea." Lou agreed. "Hazel, go down and ask it for a date." Lou ordered pointing. "Xandy are you gonna let them talk about me like that." she whined to Xander. "Yes. I would high five them if I weren't so afraid to let go of this branch." Xander answered, clinging onto a branch.
At least I knew what a high five was before today.
"Okay." Emma breathed. "We know animals are scared of bright lights."
"We all have flashlights." Ravi exclaimed right when he dropped his flashlight. "You all have flashlights." He corrected himself. "We also know they hate loud annoying noises." Emma added. "Like Tiffany's violin." Zuri exclaimed and Tiffany gave her a look. "Sorry." She apologized. "And sometimes offensive odors will drive animals off." Lou added.
"Jorge's farts!" Me Xander and Ravi all exclaimed. "I'm on it." Jorge called. You didn't have to respond, Jorge.
"Okay all in favor of attacking this thing instead of sitting here wait to be eaten say 'I'.'' Emma ordered. "I." we all said. We all jumped onto the ground. We began to scream loudly and waved our flashlights around and Tiffany's violin playing was like screeching. Then Jorge jumped on the floor, and he farted. It was loud, extended and very nasty. When he was done, we all started coughing.
"Is it gone?" Jorge asked. "After that fart there is nothing alive within 100 miles." Lou answered as she gagged. "I can not focus my eyes." Ravi said as he put his hands on Lou's' arm.
Zuri and Tiffany thanked each other for the noises they made. "Emma." Xander said as he and Emma stood up off the ground. "Your plan worked." He said happily. "Way to be a leader woodchuck." Lou congratulated her. "I think your mom would be really proud of you." "Thank you, Lou." Emma said and was touched by what Lou said.
"Don't you agree Hazel?" She asked with a look towards Hazel. "Maybe." She pouted grumpily. "But don't get cocky. Remember I'm the head counselor so what I say goes." She continued.
Oh, please if Emma did get cocky I would hate her just as much as I hate 2 certain characters from a very successful franchise and tv show I like to watch. In fact they're both still going strong to this day.
I say that because they're both really old, but they aren't as old as each other. The tv show is 32 years old but the actual franchise itself is 71 years old. But I'll explain who the characters are and what the show is called later. Once you hear what it is called you'll understand what I mean.
Hazel turned around. "Follow me." She ordered and headed the wrong way to camp. We all stood there. "Camp's the other way." Lou said and she instantly turned around. "I knew that." She said walking past us and this time we all followed her back to camp.
The next day Xander Ravi Jorge and I were all talking to each other near the signs that told you where everything was. Then Gladys started to make an announcement on a megaphone.
"I have been informed that there was a Kikiwaka close encounter last night." She said after everyone gathered around and some people gasped and murmured. "I haven't had a close encounter since last July 4th at the moose lodge. I'm so lonely." She said miserably before crying at the end. "That was 1 unlucky moose." Zuri murmured emphasizing that 1.
I scoffed. "You really think that's bad? You should hear about what Alfred did to me, Riley, Rebecca and Emily the day after that." Wait… DID I JUST!? "What happened?" "And who are Alfred Riley, Rebecca and Emily?" Tiffany and Zuri asked. OH, MOTHER FUC- "We encountered the Kikiwaka. That was us." Ravi called, dragging the attention away from me and to him and the others that were there and they made hand motions that let the others know it was them.
O-oh… m-my god! That was way too close!
That was the closest one yet! Then the others all clapped, and Emma Ravi Zuri Lou Xander Jorge and Tiffany all made hand motions to indicate they did it. They even made a hand motion to let the others know I was there since I didn't do 1 myself but I was too busy thinking about that close call.
"And for the last ding dang time it is 1 thing to pee in the lake, but it is completely unacceptable to leave a number 2 in a canoe."
Everyone turned to face Jorge when Gladys was done. "What? the signs around here are really confusing." He said defensively. Gladys started talking on the megaphone again. "So instead, we'll be racing innertubes today. Last person to the lake has to clean the canoe."
On that last word we all screamed and started running to the lake. Though some people actually pushed me over because they were running too fast. When Xander noticed this, he quickly turned around, picked me up and carried me on his shoulders. Luckily we weren't the last ones to the lake but I guess he really does care about me.
That night we were all sitting around the fire. I was sitting next to Tiffany but no one was sitting next to me.
Anyway, Xander was playing his guitar and started singing a song.

That's because if I was a real character of the show then in the theme song I would have been credited for acting in the show in those stanzas after Nina Lu the actress that played tiffany. She would've been credited in the first 2 stanzas. I would have been credited in the next 2 stanzas and the final stanza was for showing a picture of the entire cast including me all together wearing the kikiwaka shirts at the end.
Also since each cast member was credited because of something they were doing the way I would have been credited was they would've shown me playing with some toy trains and then the toy trains spelled out my real name that I won't give away unless I personally know you. That is how I would have been credited and why there are 2 extra Kikiwaka stanzas. To see what I mean see the actual bunk'd theme song and you'll see why I added in those 2 stanzas but let me get back to the story)
We all clapped our hands and cheered for Xander when he was done singing. In fact during the 'this is our home away from home' line Xander sat next to me and started to sing to me.
Xander put down his guitar and sat next to Emma. But then Hazel got up and sat right between them with a smile.
"Uh Hazel, 3's a crowd." Xander said. Hazel smiled and turned to Emma. "Did you hear that Emma? Get lost." She smirked. "You already tried that last night, remember?" She reminded her and she rolled her eyes and left. Xander scooted closer to Emma but Hazel turned around and sat next to him so Xander was in between them and they looked like a love triangle.
Though I could tell Xander was only interested in 1 of them.
Lou looked at the fire. "Wow the last time the bonfire was this big, Gladys had dropped her canteen in it." Lou said, nudging Zuri. "That's because I threw in all of Tiffany's flash cards." Zuri explained. At least Zuri didn't throw my collection in the fire.
I keep it under my bed, and no one knows about it. I didn't tell them about it because I was only comfortable telling my siblings and the police that looked after us about it. I'll tell you what the collection was later but all I will say is that half of it is highly flammable. If Zuri threw in the highly flammable half of it in the fire, I wouldn't have to wait till September or need an execution chamber to die. That was just a figure of speech. I didn't mean that. All I meant of that was that I will die in September and it will be by an execution chamber.
Tiffanys eyes widened. "What?" She gasped as she stood up. "I'm going to make sure you have fun this summer if it's the last thing I ever do." Zuri said. Trust me, having fun this summer will be the last thing I ever do. "If my mom hears about this it will be." Tiffany slowly sat back down. "All though it would be nice to have a little fun for a change." She smiled. Zuri snatched the book out of her hands. "Great!" Zuri exclaimed. "Tonight, I'll teach you how to hollow out your mattress to hide stuff." Lou and I stared at her.
"With your book smarts and my street smarts we're gonna rule this camp." She said and she threw the book into the grass and it flew over my lap and I slightly flinched. Jorge started getting too close to the fire with his marshmallow and Ravi had to pull him back. They were sitting on the bench on my right side. I was on the edge of my bench and there was a small space between mine and theirs. He started talking about those aliens again but I still didn't pay attention to that or even know if that did happen.
"Hey guys?" Zuri asked. We all faced her. "Do you think the Kikiwaka is gonna come back tonight?" She asked. I scoffed.
"If it did, I'd just have..." Oh Rayley the fuck you didn't. "You'd have what?" Lou asked. At least I didn't say what I would do. I'd have Cory and Kendall execute the Kikiwaka like how they did with Clive Neil, Matthew Colin and Adam. Not that I would be brave enough to go 100 miles within Cory and Kendall before September when they're going to kill me. "Not if he knows Jorge had burritos for dinner." Ravi answered and both he and Jorge smiled and nodded but he didn't hear what I said. The others agreed and forgot what I said. I released the breath I didn't realize I was holding and I sighed. I seriously don't know if I can tell them about what happened.
I freak out when I let a detail slip. These guys are my friends but I'm not as close to them as I was to my siblings or the police. This is a very uncomfortable topic. Not only that but look at September. That's when I die. Not only that but I know I'm gonna die. What happens when I'm dead and they ask where I am. What do you tell them? That I knew I was gonna die in the September that had just passed. How can anyone handle that? I've been handling the memories of Alfred's failed murder attempt the deaths of Clive Neil Matthew Colin and Adam, the separation of Riley Rebecca Lily and Emily. I've been going through hell and I don't know what I can do at this point. Do I keep it secret til I die or share it and have no idea what will happen. I don't know.
I'm starting to fight my tears again. I don't know if this is the same life I remember. If I'm gonna die in September then I might as well make the most of it even if that means dealing with all of these memories, the passings of my cousins and the separation of my sisters. Faking all kinds of smiles and having nightmares. Dealing with all of that until I die.
