NOTES:
- This story isn't canon to the game (like most of what I have written); again it just explores a what-if theory I have for Yuiren (in which she is a transgender woman due to the fact that in game, Yuiren appears to be very feminine I wanted to explore this more).
- For the purpose of this story, Yujiro (which is Yuiren's actual name according to concept art) is Yuiren's dead name.
- Yukiko is also Yuiran (in Yuiran's case, this is just a name I have for her as according to my Daraku Tenshi theories; since she doesn't have much story per-se I want to try my best to flesh her out more if that makes sense).
- Neither Yuiren/Yuiran have a given surname; Asakura is a surname that I have for them in my headcanon material.
- There are implied hints to sensitive themes (mainly sexual abuse).
As always, my writing style is quite rusty. When I wrote this, I was depressed at the time; writing is kind of a way for me to release creative juices and makes me feel better. I was somewhat inspired by the soundtrack White Noiz (from Silent Hill 2); I thought of this idea and it just came out.
I would really appreciate comments reads, thank you

She was right in the centre of the stage that night, clad in a white dress with matching heels and elaborate jewellery adorning her. Her dyed indigo hair was tied in a long braid with a golden crown resting on top. She always wanted to look her best in every performance, even if she secretly hated the idea of parading herself around in front of those who came to see her.
Her slender hands tightened around the microphone as she prepared herself to sing. The bar quietened down and she opened her mouth, beginning her performance. Her voice started off quiet and airy; she struggled a bit but was able to project herself gradually. She was trying to hold it together for this time but slowly, the cracks were coming undone.
"Yujiro, you've tarnished the Asakura name! Why have you done this to us?"
She thought she could hear them for a second. She thought they were scrutinising her. It was probably nerves. She shook her head and was about to continue, for some reason she couldn't do it.
"First Yukiko, now you! It's like you're both deliberately trying to screw us over!"
It didn't make sense to her. They were already dead by the time the earthquake happened. She knew. Yukiko knew. There was no way they were alive anymore.
"Since you want to be a girl so badly, I'll teach you how to be one!"
Her hands gripped the microphone tighter. She started to release tears; her body was floating and she was breaking down. She was cracking in front of an audience. She could barely see anything in front of her but she had a feeling that Yukiko was also watching; the very sister that she was supposed to protect.
"I bet you like this, don't you Yujiro? Now you know how it feels to be a girl!"
Her inner child was crying for someone to help her. She couldn't help herself or Yukiko before but now, she was able to. She wouldn't let it happen again.
She dropped the microphone on the stage and flew off, lunging herself at the first person she saw. She started to claw into them with her manicured nails; she just had to make sure they were gone.
"This is for Yukiko, for treating her like she was nothing and hurting her..."
She kept clawing, it was as if something inside was telling her to. Her mind zoned out and she didn't notice what was happening around her. Groups of people deserted the bar chaotically; her sister Yukiko was trying to push through to get to her.
"This is for all those times you broke my spirit... Making me hide myself just to please you.."
Her hands found themselves wrapped around the throat of the person she was hurting. Her nails were digging deep into their skin; her cries worsened as she pressed harder. She wanted it to go away, she needed to continue until they weren't making her feel the way she did. Her vision blurred out due to her stinging eyes (from crying); she could make out someone calling out for her...
"Yuiren, it's going to be fine... Just let go, okay? Just let go..."
Before she could even respond, she passed out onto the wooden floor, feeling light yet heavy due to her personal burdens.
Hours later, she woke up from her sleep. Her eyes hurt and felt tired as she cried so much. She could feel her body on something soft; her bed. She was in her bedroom, one of the few places that brought her comfort. She noticed a figure looking down on her with a concerned expression; her sister, her beloved Yukiko. She was okay. The main thing was that Yukiko was okay, all because she was able to do the one thing she couldn't do as a child. She was able to protect her.
"Don't cry, Yukiko... You'll always have me... I'll protect you... It's okay..."
Just some additional notes here: the bio for Yuiren does mention how he plays the role of protector to Yuiran. I actually do have some more written material (mainly my own headcanons that are unfinished) which explores this dynamic. In this material, I figured that Yuiren was always protective of his sister from childhood (mainly as they both grew up in a dysfunctional family). Yuiren's character (to me) is quite endearing in which he is willing to sacrifice himself for the people he cares for, even if he is hurt.
