The kiss was unexpected and sudden, and Max didn't hate it but he did put his hand up and was going to push him away. Yes him. A boy just kiss him and Max actually liked it. When it ended Max gripped his shirt so he couldn't pull away and leaned in for another.

He wasn't cheating as he and Alisha weren't together, she made that clear stating she wasn't allowed to date anybody for another year at the earliest. He wasn't thinking about that, nor if truth be told about Alisha at all but as to how his lips felt against his own, the boy's tongue lightly brushing against his lips. Should he part his lips and let his tongue enter his mouth? Max had no idea, it was hard to think, he felt hot, he felt embarrassed, Max feared he was making a fool of himself as well as that his heart would rip out of his chest, it was beating so fast that it couldn't possibly be healthy.

He let go of the shirt and did what he should have done and pushed Drew away. He watched in shame and fear as Drew yelped and tripped over a chair as he tried to get his footing.

"I-I'm… uh-I-oh"

Max grabbed his backpack and ran. Tears were forming and the frightful teen blinked them away. He still felt feverish hot, the beating of his heart was so loud he swore he could hear it over his pounding feet and his heavy breathing.

Why in hell would Drew kiss him? Why did he kiss him back? Most importantly of all why did he enjoy it?

Max was avoiding returning home, one of the several highlights of working at the Arcade was having a place to go when he didn't want to be at home. His mom has been on his back to mow the lawn and he so didn't want to do that. It is hot, he will sweat, and more often than not just had some grueling day at school, it was unbearable then to suffer some more by mowing, no thanks.

But when he returned he almost fell off his board when he discovered it was done. It was dark but as his eyes scanned the lawn he was almost of the opinion that some weeding was done as well as some trimming. Shrugging to himself he kicked his board so he could grab it and carried it inside, and dropped his board in shock at the sight he caught.

There was a boy, a sweaty almost naked boy on his couch. He was in shorts and a tank top that cling to him like a second skin due to his sweat. The guy had such a tanned that Max was almost envious but it was his muscles that really had him jealous, the guy was ripped without going overboard. He had shoulder-length hair, wet of course with sweat. He was calmly drinking water of all things while talking to his mother Judy. She paused mid-sentence hearing the door and his board hitting the floor.

"Max,"

Max hurriedly picked up his board.

"This here is my son Max, lazy, forgetful, always scheming something, but loyal, with a heart of gold."

He smiled at Max and Max knew he needed to keep this guy away from Alisha.

"Heya Max, I'm Drew."

His voice wasn't deep, not yet, but that smile his steely blue eyes, he was a threat. He almost felt relieved for the first time that Alisha wasn't allowed to date.

"Hey" did he squeak that? He felt like hitting his head at the wall.

"Drew has been going door to door handing out flyers. He was looking for odd jobs to do around the neighborhood. Since I have been asking you for the last three days to do a couple of small things I immediately hired him to do your chores. He will be back tomorrow to finish the last of it."

Max thought this was great news, of course, he couldn't invite Alisha over.

"I would advice you to come home and do the more difficult tasks if you want any pocket-"

"That's great mom, I need to wash up. Ummm… how long till dinner?"

His mom sighed.

"Max, have you been listening to me?"

"Yes, Drew be back tomorrow to do the rest of the jobs that he couldn't do today."

Drew watched and sipped his drink.

"And after that?" Judy asked.

Max waved his hand, "you like me to come straight home or something. You never did say about dinner."

She sighed, "dinner is in the oven. Wash up and help yourself. I need to take Drew home."

"Ma'am it's not that far, I'm fine getting home."

"It's getting dark and you are new to town. I won't risk you getting lost."

She left to grab her purse.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, Max."

He held his hand out for a handshake, Max shook his hand.

"Don't worry, I give you half my pay if you give me a tour around town."

"Huh?"

Drew shot him a wink then his mom was back, heading towards them.

"Love you Max and I shouldn't be gone long."

"What?" Again he swore he squeak.

Drew grabbed his soaking wet shirt before stepping out, Judy closed the door behind her. Alone he glanced about, confused. He gave his body a shake. No jobs to do at home, it was the week he got paid for working at the Arcade, it was also the week he will get his pocket money, and now Drew for whatever reason offered him half his pay. It was looking to be his best week so far. He happily made his way to the bathroom to freshen up before consuming his dinner.

Sydney

Sydney knew it was a mistake. It was yesterday and the day before that, and the week before. But she closed her bedroom door and Olive was jumping onto her, her hands wrapped around her secret lover, Olive legs wrapped around Sydney's waist helping support her weight while Sydney turned and pressed her friend against the door while kissing said girl.

Sydney knew she will feel terrible afterward, she always felt terrible after the act. But she couldn't help herself. For the past two weeks, Olive plagued her mind, her and Harry. She had impure thoughts of both of them. She couldn't see herself without Olive while at the same time she didn't want to end things with Harry. She wanted to watch Harry be with Olive, she wanted Olive to crave Harry's kiss as desperately as Sydney did.

Sydney was a virgin, Olive tempted her so much she doubted that would last for much longer. So far it was Harry keeping her from going all the way with Olive. The guilt and the thought that she dated Harry a lot longer than Olive, in truth what she and Olive were doing couldn't really be called dating at all, so Harry should be her first that she went all the way with.

Sydney moaned and tried to brush thoughts of Harry aside from her mind, but like most things trying to not think of something made you think of it more all the more. Olive skin felt different than Harry's, Olive tasted different, her hands were getting awfully close to exploring new places she has yet explored with Harry.

"Olive, babe, we need to stop."

"Just a little longer Syd,"

She was kissing Sydney's neck. Sydney just loved how that felt. To have Harry do the same to the other side…

"No, Olive. We really need to stop."

Their hands clasp each other, Olive leaned in for a kiss. Sydney could almost lose herself in Olive eyes. It felt to Sydney that her very soul was basking within Olive's soul.

"This feels so right," sighed Olive.

"And so wrong," said Sydney. "I'm with Harry. I'm happy with Harry."

Olive closed her eyes. It always ends this way and she still had no answer to provide her confused friend. She wouldn't make demands or ultimatums, she tried to steer Sydney to break things with Harry but she refuses to consider that route.

"Let's get a start on our homework." Olive finally said, letting herself slide down off of Sydney's body. She opened the door once Sydney moved away, to prevent any further temptation.

Sydney's phone rang as Olive was going through her bag seeking her homework, it was Harry. Olive opened her textbook as Sydney chatted with her guy. It was getting harder and harder to put a bright smile on her face these last few days.

While Sydney spoke to Harry her eyes always returned to Olive. Things escalated so fast between them, a lingering touch or stare, recalling a joke Olive shared with her earlier that still hours later made her giggle. Shearing that joke with Harry even made him laugh.

She enjoyed watching the two of them laugh, they both had a carefree laugh that was liberating to hear. Still, as of late, her guilt ate away at her while she was with Harry, and the same was true while she was with Olive.

"Yeah, that's so cool Harry. I hope you get in on the team." Sydney said, then she laughed. "No, I have no interest in trying out for a cheerleader position."

Harry chuckled, "It's getting late and no doubt one or three Amigas are with you right now eager for you to rejoin them with whatever activity I interrupted you, girls, in."

"Just Olive and we were about to start our homework."

"We'll say hi for Olive for me and I let you get to it. Will you call me before turning in for the night? I like to hear your voice one last time before going to bed myself."

It felt like a knife was stabbing her. Olive sometimes calls or asks Sydney to call her before she goes to bed.

"Sure thing Harry, love you."

Sydney heard smooching noises in return which made her laugh, then she hanged up.

It felt awkward as she dug out her homework and joined Olive on her bed and started reading out the questions, a strained silence that both of them wanted to break but unsure how best to do so without starting an argument, tears, or making promises that might not be able to be kept.

"Ummm, what exactly is question four asking?"

"Huh?" She looked at what Sydney was working on. "I'm working on our science homework right now not English." She smiled as she took Sydney's exercise sheet and read over the problem.

Later that night she called Olive followed by Harry but it was hours later till she fell asleep herself her thoughts were in turmoil as she thought about the two and the decision that must be made that would hurt one of the two and undoubtedly herself as well because she knew that no matter who she chooses a part of her heart will also die.
