Sequel to Trails of Cold Steel III - Year of 1206. The Great Twilight has been brought forth to bring the end of the world. However, Levi vow to deliver judgment to Osborne, Alberich, The Ironbloods, George and Ouroboros, and find a way to destroy the Curse of Erebonia and the Ebon Knight Ishmelga. Together with Rean, Class VII, and their allies to put a stop to this.

4. Act 1 Sutherland

Dateline, August 6th, 1206.

(Trails of Cold Steel III ost - Now, Things To Do)

After several days of training in the labyrinth, The students finally gained all of their main strength back. That was when we received a group call from my classmates and they got us some information. It seemed that I was right and that Rean is held captive inside the Black are all gathered together in the atelier with Rose. Emma and Gaius were calling me through my ARCUS II.

"For real?!" Juna exclaimed "What kind of lead did you guys find?"

"At this point it's only a tentative possibility based on Grandmother's abilities and our investigations. But if it goes well, we may be able to pin down the Black Workshop's location."

"That's excellent news." Altina sigh with relief.

"It's just as I thought." I nodded. "If we can find the Black Workshop, we can find Rean and Celine. But the question is where and how do we find it."

"I understand your concern. In the 800 years since the witches and Gnomes split, we haven't found even a trace of their headquarters." Rose said. "They may have mechanisms in place to evade our senses, or perhaps they may even hidden in a different dimensional space. If their lair exists somewhere within the Empire, however, that narrows our search considerably."

"The Great Twilight has caused unprecedented disruption in the spirit veins." Gaius stated "There are several spots across Erebonia when the local mana has been stirred into a frenzy. We call these spots 'singularities.' "

"So far as I can discern, there are seven such spots of notable size. The members of the old Class VII have already been dispatched to check on the ones in Kreuzen, Nortia, and Nord. There are two more in Sutherland and Lamare, and the final two, we have to locate."

"Our plan is to dive a spirit stake into each of these singularities in order to stabilize them." Emma explained. "Once we can use the spirit veins again, any black spots on our map will stand out clear as day."

Altina hummed "Interesting... It's almost like a magical version of active sonar."

"It is clever. Instead of searching for the Workshop itself, you'd be singling out places your senses can't reach." Venti nodded

"The theory is solid enough, at least." Kurt replied

"You three really followed all that?" Juna quietly muttered then click. "Uh, I mean, right! Sounds good!"

"Remember, there are no guarantee this will actually lead us to the Workshop." Machias pointed out.

"Unless we find those last two singularities, our odds of success aren't great." Fie added

"Still, if there's even the smallest possibility, we'll bet everything on it." Elliot said with a proud look on his face.

"Whatever it takes, we'll find Rean and bring him home!" Alisa nodded

"That's the spirit you guys." I smiled "And you're right. Let's do this! Operation Finding Rean begins!"

"Thank you all for your help." Altina replied

"With all of us working together, we should have it done in no time." Laura said.

"You can leave the singularities to the east and north to us." Sara smirked

"The rest is up to you, new Class VII. You as well Levi. Your Highness." Jusis added

"Right!" We nodded

Dateline, August 7th, 1206.

Today is the day we depart. I was wearing the same outfit as the others. But my students and Cedric had changed their outfits.

Juna wears a untucked yellow collar shirt and black neck tie, with a white miniskirt, black thigh high stockings, leather boots and a medium-length magenta coat.

Kurt wears a white sleeveless vest with a blue-sleeved shirt underneath. He also adds a pouch around his thigh, brown gloves and a light blue cravat.

Altina wears long black gloves. Black Shoes. Long Black tights. gray shorts with a black belt. A black shirt and vest with a diamond shape tie. And ribbons on her hair. And wearing her cap.

Venti wears a frilly white top with a corset-like leather midsection, along with teal shorts with gold embroidery, a matching teal cape held together by a deep blue and gold bow. He also wears white stockings with three gold diamond shapes along each leg and a beret-like hat with a flower.

Prince Cedric is also joining us as he told us a few days back. He wore dark brown boots. Dark blue trousers with a chain. Brown belt. A white T-shirt with a black rectangle shirt near the top of the shirt. A gray jacket, a black choker and brown gloves.

"Wow, these feel great! They're so easy to move around in." Juna said. "Yours guys' new look great on you, too."

"Thank you." Altina replied. "I am surprised how well they suit me."

Kurt nodded. "Yes, I didn't expect such modern clothing from an ancient village of witches."

"I had to admit. This style suits me." Venti wink.

"I have to agree. I'm liking these kinds of clothes. It's nice for a change." Cedric smiled.

"Some of us bring back magazines from the outside world from time to time. It is enough for us to keep track of the latest fashions. I once try dressing a little more 'hip', as the young people say, but Emma said it did not suit me." Roselia said.

"I suppose it does behoove you as the village elder to put forth an appearance of grace and dignity." Kurt said.

"Well, I wish I couldn't seen that! I bet you were really cute!" Juna smiled. "Anyway, it seems like we can finally get started"

"Yes. Beginning today, we can take our first step... towards finding the instructor." Altina nodded

"Thanks for everything Rose. We owe you one." I smiled. "We'll be heading out now."

"I'm glad to hear it. The new Class VII worked exceptionally hard to recover their lost strength. Considering the trials you've overcome so far, I have every confidence you'll succeed." Roselia smiled

"Thank you." Cedric smiled.

"Now then. Where should we start looking for one of the singularities?" I asked

"I recommend you start by looking for the Sutherland singularity. Do you have the tools I gave you?" Roselia asked

"Yep!" Juna said as she pulled out a pendant and a stake. "It's these stake things, right? Once we find a singularity, we drive these in to stabilize them, right?"

"This pendulum looks a lot like the pendant Emma gave Instructor Rean." Altina said.

"It's made of materials that react to large concentrations of mana." Roselia replied. "It also acts as the key linking this village to the outside world. Head through the woods on the outskirts of town. The teleportation stone there should take you to the Isthmia Great Forest. Ah, but before you go, I have a message from some of the villagers."

"Who?" Venti asked

"Liese the innkeeper and Gandolf the blacksmith. Euclase, too. They all said they have something for you. Euclase is at the center of the village, while Liese and Gandolf can be found in their respective establishments."

"I wonder what it is they want to give us." Kurt wondered

"Perhaps something useful in our journey." Venti answered

"Aww, I feel bad." Juna scratches her cheeks. "They've all done so much for us already."

"It must be important regardless." I smiled. "In any event. We should get going. All right everyone. Let's move out!"

"Right!" The new Class VII and Cedric nodded.

The six of us left the atelier and we went around the stores to see Euclase, they each gave us a recipe book so in cease we make food. Oh yeah, we definitely need this. We also talk to Euclase who is wishing right now and he gave us some fishing equipment. Rean did a lot of fishing as I recall. Rean also taught us how to fish. And then to Gandolf shop where gave us some useful Quartz. We also upgraded our ARCUS II as well. Not only that. We also got another upgraded functions. There are no more Sub-master quartz restrictions! It will no doubt come in handy! Plus I have feeling my students will be using my master quartz to level up more faster. I don't blame them.

"We made our way to the teleportation stone that took us to Eerie Woods, which was where the labyrinth was.

We made a right turn to a teleportation stone that took us to the south part.

"Whoa. It just keeps on going and going." Juna commend as we walk around.

"We must be at the south side of the forest." Cedric said.

"It seems there is a teleportation stone further up ahead that leads outside." Altina replied

"I sense monsters nearby. Remember to be careful out here." I advised.

I've notice that the higher elements are active in this place.

"Is it just me, or does this forest give off the weirdest vibes?" Juna asked

"That would be the higher elements at work." Altina explain.

"Oh yeah, you're right." Venti nodded as he recalled. "Back in Saint-Gral Labyrinth, they suppress the higher elements.

"We'll just have to be as extra-cautius as always, then." Kurt nodded

"Indeed. Let's not forget the monsters here will behave differently." Cedric added

As we walk the path. We encounter some monsters that was roaming around. As they attack us. We attack then. After we finish with them. We resume exploring the forest. Then we found a ladder we have to use and climb up. Of course us boys go first.

"Ugh... We've still gotta deal with these?!" Juna muttered as she climb up.

"It's what you might call a 'pain in the neck'... in more ways than one." Altina said.

"There's no denying it. Still, climbing a ladder is good exercise." I replied as I reach the up and help the others in this mysterious and beautiful forest.

"But I have to admit. The forest while beautiful is a lot more warped." Cedric replied

"Let's take care we don't get lost." Kurt advised.

We walk towards the pathway under the roots of the large branches of the forest and spotted lanturns on the way. We must be on the right track. Soon we encounter more monsters and take them on. Once we clear the monsters. We made our way to the next teleportation stone and we found it.

"There it is! The teleportation stone Roselia told us about!" Juna stated

"We can use it to get outside, right?" Kurt asked

"According to Rose, yes." I answered

"Nearly three weeks have passed since the Great Twilight began... I wonder how much has changed..." Altina wondered

"I'm guessing a lot. Still, we should be on guard regardless." Venti advises.

"Right." I nodded. "Juna, if you would."

"Right." Juna nodded and brought the pendant and then the teleportation stone activated and we were teleported outside of the forest.

We arrived at the teleportation stone area that leads us to Sutherland.

"Where are we?" Kurt asked

Juna turn her head left and right to look around. "Um... Are we on the Sutherland side?"

"From the looks of it, we're in the cave. If we want to find out. Let us exit the cave." I said as my eyes turn to the direction where I felt the wind. "I can sense the wind coming from there."

"The exit must be there way, then. Let's go." Altina replied

We begin to follow the wind and then see a small exit which tall guys like me duck and we're outside. As I look around. I see we're in the Forest. Ah, I remember this place.

"Well at least we're out of the cave." Venti said. "But the scenery of this forest... It must be Isthmia Great Forest."

"Yeah, I never would've guessed we'd end up here, though." Juna replied.

"There are so many Erynflowers here." Kurt said. "You're right, Venti. This is where we first had our field exercises."

"Oh yeah! During our first field exercises. We got ourselves into a pretty rough spot now that I think about it."

"That was four months ago, now." Altina said.

"Yeah, a lot of time has passed." Venti added. "But we shouldn't be sentimental."

"Right. Our tasks are to investigate the singularity and assess the overall situation in the area. We will need to use our time effectively."

"First things first. We need to get out of this forest." Kurt said. "Be on guard, and watch out for monsters."

I chuckled "Look at you all. I'm proud that you're staying focus on the task. But you're right. Let's go, shall we?"

We went through the forest path. On the path, there was one of those special Orbment charging station.

"Oh, look! There's an orment charging station over there!" Juna pointed out.

"Yes, the special type that we've seen countless times before." Altina added

"If I remember right. It does more than restore your HP and EP. but also enhance your weapons and synthesize quartz." Venti replied.

"That's right." I nodded "There are some of these you can even shop like buying something from the orbal network. In an event. Let's take a small break and then once it's fully recharged. Let's hit the road."

The students nodded and then charge their ARCUS II. Once that's done, we continue forth. Then I notice the new Class VII are feeling nostalgic. Poor kids. it breaks me heart to see them that way. We will get Rean back. We taking down monsters that got in our way. We then saw a huge floating one. It has a giant eye and a big mouth. Ugh, it's hideous! It will cause trouble if we let it be. So we begin to fight the monster and came out on top. We then continued through the forest until we reached the end and onto West Sutherland Highway.

"Phew, it feels good to be out of the forest." Juna said. "Is it just me, or were the monsters a lot stronger than last time?"

"It may be due to the disruption of the spirit veins." Kurt guessed.

"Perhaps, but it may be something else as well." Altina said. "I sense the higher elements at work. It feels like they've gathered at the main road."

"Really? Even there?!" Juna ased

"Yeah, I can sense them, too." Venti hummed.

"It's not just the forest. I can sense the higher elements... everywhere." I said."But unlike the forest. The higher elements around the highways feels dim. The Great Twilight must be at work here. Be on guard as we travel along the highway. Saint-Arkh shouldn't be far from here."

"Right!" Juna nodded

"Saint-Arkh- is east of here. Let's get going, shall we." Kurt said.

We walked out of the woods and traveled along the highway path. We begin to fight monsters that are blocking out way. We can see Saint-Arkh in the distance.

"Hey, look over there!" Juna pointed out at Saint-Arkh.

"Seems we've reached Saint-Arkh." Kurt said

"Yeah. However, we don't know what's going on there. So stay vigilant." I advised aswe reached the entrance to Saint-Arkh.

We arrived at the residential district.

"It's been a long time since we came by the residential district in Saint-Arkh." Kurt said.

"Looking at the place, it doesn't seem like too much has changed." Juna added.

"Although I haven't Saint-Arkh in person, it does look a lovely city of the old capital." Cedric comment.

"However, what we're seeing is the surface. We don't know what changed the last time we were here." Venti pointed out.

"Exactly." I nodded. "We need to be careful as we look around. So stay alert. Plus, we should use the place of operation she mention back then." I turn to my left. "And lucky us. It's just a few steps away. Let's go."

I led the way and we went inside the guild temporally branch office which had an orbal computer and Altina went straight to work on it.

"How are things looking, Allie?" Juna asked.

"There are no communication lines here." Altina replied. "We'll need to take our investigation out on the street, and gather information ourselves."

"At least we can still use it as a base for the time being." Cedric said.

"Let's get to work. What do we start with first?" Kurt asked.

"Our top goal is to find the singularity." Juna reminded.

"And to do that, we need to gather information on everything that's going on in Erebonia right now." Venti added.

Altina nodded. "Agreed. We should ensure we have a solid foothold here."

"Then let's begin with the café and the cathedral, I'm sure they'll have some good intel."

"We should also get in contact with Marquis Hyarms as well somehow." Kurt said.

"So we have three places to find info." Cedric hummed then pondered over something.

"What's wrong, Your Highness?" Juna asked.

"Please, no need to be formal with me. Just call me Cedric. It may be obvious, but we should stay alert. You never know how much the Chancellor is keeping a close eye on us. After all, he has the Intelligence Division on his side. They're the eyes and ears to him. You all may know these places, but we should be discreet."

"Understood." Kurt replied.

"Let's get started." Altina said.

"Wow. I'm literally surprised at you guys." I said as I blinked. "You guys not only working as a team, but you're also planning carefully. I'm so proud of you guys."

"Perhaps we have you, the old Class VII as an example of how much clever teamwork." Venti comment.

"I'll be honest. I'm so happy I can do this with you all and explore the Empire at the same time." Cedric smiled.

"Hehe. We're all happy to hear that." I smiled. "In any case. Looks like you don't need my help on this topic. Rean and I are definitely proud of how much you've grown. It brings back memories." Then I clicked and shake my head. "Wait this isn't the time for me to feel nostalgic. Anyway, let's get going. And remember what Cedric told us as well to be discreet.

"Got it." Kurt nodded

"Let's get started." Altina added

We left the building and our first stop was the April Café & Inn, and there was an argument between the guy and the maid about civilians being drafted to war. A reminder that because of what happened to the Emperor, Osborne used that fact to announce his declaration of war on Calvard. We then went over to the Noble District, but the gates were guarded by Imperial solders, and not the provincial army, although we did hear that Marquis was not in the city. Lastly was the cathedral,

"We came here on a previous Special Ops mission!" Juna recalled.

"Yes, back when we were asked to collect Erynflowers." Altina added

"Right, the lavender Vita use as her current scent." I nodded. "Other than that. It also where it grow around the village."

"That's right. We received the request from the archbishop at the time." Kurt nodded

"We do want to speak with him but we need to be careful through." Venti pointed out.

"Indeed. There was that business with Gaius." Altina nodded "The Congregation for the Sacrament and the Congregation for Divine Worship are engaged in a 'turf war' I believe."

"I believe that the same problem in Crossbell if I remember correctly." Cedric nodded

"We listened to Elliot play the violin here." Juna added "A live performance by an up-and-coming musician is really something special!"

"Yes. The experience is a precious memory for me." Altina smiled

"Look at you all grown up." Venti giggled.

That was when someone arrived, overhearing our conversation.

"Did I hear you mention you've seen Elliot perform? As in Elliot Craig?"

A familiar young lady walked up to us and I immediately recognized her.

"Wait... Fiona, is that you?" I asked in surprise.

"Oh, Levi! Long time no see." Fiona replied.

"You know this woman?" Juna asked

"Her hair looks familiar," Kurt added

"Hehe. She's Elliot's older sister." I explained

"Wait, for real!?" Venti asked

"Oh, this must be the new Class VII I heard so much about. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Fiona Craig, Elliot's older sister, and a pianist!"

"A pianist? So you're in the world of music, too?" Kurt asked.

"That's right, Elliot and I have been following our dreams of music, all thanks to our mother."

"I see."

"So you're Elliot's big sister." Juna said.

"I ought to have read her dossier back during the civil war, but I suppose my memory must have failed me when we met." Altina respond.

"My, I wasn't expecting Elliot to have such a beautiful sister." Venti smiled

"Anyways, were you eavesdropping on us?" I asked.

"Oh sorry, I wasn't trying to." Fiona replied. "I just heard about Elliot being mentioned when I walked in."

"You're right. We had the pleasure of listening to a previous performance here at the cathedral." Kurt said.

"It was quite amazing." Altina added.

Fiona giggled. "I'm so happy to hear you say that. To be honest, he still has a lot left to learn. But even so, I know in my heart that one day, he'll be the greatest performer in the Empire."

"Wow, she's very fond of her brother's dream." Juna muttered. "Oh I mean, I'm sure he'll become the best! Besides being cute, the aura around him is something else when he's playing."

"So anyways, what brings you to Saint-Arkh?"

"Oh, I came here because I was hoping to ask the archbishop after our discussion regarding a performance. I have some relatives living in the area. I haven't really been able to see one of them, and the other, I can't even get in contact with."

"Ah, I think I know who you're talking about. You mean your father and Major Neithhardt."

"Yep. That's them..." Fiona sighed.

Then a sister came in through the door. "Flora! I've been waiting for you." Then the sister walk to her. "I heard something about you stopping by Dreknor Fortress, correct?"

"Yes, the checks are getting tight so we had to change plans for the moment."

"Is that so? Well, there's a lot going on over there right now, after all. I see. Welcome from your long journey. Let us show you to the Archbishop."

"Thank you for your help." Fiona turn to us. "I'll see you all next time. Take care of them, Levi."

"Will do. See you next time, Fiona." I replied.

"Hmm… something is bothering me about her. Dreknor Fortress is a major base for the Imperial forces, right?" Juna asked

"That's right. it's northwest of here." I nodded "I have actually been there myself back then with Ouroboros three months back. The fortress is being commanded by one of the Imperial Generals. Olaf Craig, Fiona and Elliot's father. "

"Wait, Elliot and Fiona's dad is an Imperial General?!" Juna asked in surprise.

"Yeah, but I'll let Elliot tell you about it." I replied. "Anyways, it seems we have a basic grasp of the situation."

"Yes… it's clear that preparations for the war with Calvard are underway." Kurt said.

"At this rate, it'll soon be unavoidable. It's as if some force is propelling the countries on a course bound for destruction." Cedric added

"It's uncanny how rapidly this is progressing." Altina added.

"Do you think the Great Twilight has something to do with it?" Venti asked

"It does actually." I nodded. "For now, let's head back to the temporary guild and discuss what to do next."

We made our way back to the Luna Crest apartments and when we got upstairs and over to the door of our temporary room. We heard familiar foot steps inside. Wait, I sense a familiar presence coming within the room. Who's inside?

"Wait, you guys." I said to them. "I sense a familiar presence coming from the other side of the room, but I'm not sure who."

"A familiar presense?" Juna asked

"Let me handle this."

I opened the door slowly and standing in the middle was a student from the branch campus.

"Well, this is unexpected." I said.

"It couldn't be...Kairi?!" Kurt asked.

"Oh...haha, I thought I saw you in town, but I wasn't sure at first." Kairi replied. "I'm glad you're all okay! Good to see you, Class VII." Kairi then sees Cedric "Wait... is that?!"

"Hehe. Hello, there. Can I make a request that you don't shout my name and title?" Cedric nervous smile. "It would cause quite a commotion if you did."

"A-A-Ah, yes You-" "And the formally too. Please, just call me Cedric."

"B-But-" "Please?"

"O-O-Of course!"

"Okay, Kairi, deep breath and gentle calm down." I nervous laughed.

Kairi take a deep breath and then release.

"Sorry about that. I've never expected that the- um... almost spill it out there. Levi, it's good to see you again. You're leading Class VII?"

"Yep, I'm in charge of looking after Class VII in Rean's absence." I nodded. "We're so surprised to see you here Kairi."

"Agreed. I never thought we'd run into you in Saint-Akrh of all places." Kurt said. "We were worried when we heard the Gral had been swallowed up by a distortion in time and space."

"Speaking of that, did you and the other students make it out okay?"

Kairi nodded "Yeah, Instructor Towa and the people of the church worked out a way to get us teleported to a safe area. Thanks to that, I was able to get in close to the city and rely on some of my contacts for the rest."

"That's good news to hear." I smiled.

"I would expect as much of the Gralsritter, but Instructor Towa came through rather well herself." Altina smiled

"I'm relieved to see you're safe as well." Kurt smiled "But you said 'us.' Is it more than just you?"

"Oh, right! I was teleported here with Pablo and Tatiana." Kairi replied. "They're over in Parm to gather some intel right now."

"Sounds like you guys have been hard at work." Juna said. "But if that's the case, maybe we should go over there, too."

"Right. There's a chance they may have dug up something related to the signularity." Kurt added.

"Oh yeah. You have many friends there at Parm too, right Kurt? You wanna confirm their safety while also getting intel?" Venti asked

"I would like that, thanks."

"Then it settled." I smiled

"Be careful out there, Class VII." Kairi said. "You too, Levi! May Aidios guide your way!"

We nodded and left the room, because he needed somewhere safe for now.

"Alright. It's time to head out. We're heading to Parm, right?" I asked

"I want to say that's fine..." Juna trailed off. "But I'm worried about Fiona's father. He's an Imperial General, right?"

"He is. I'm also worried about him. Unfortunately, Drekner Fortress is filled with Imperial Soldiers at the moment. If you want to check it out. I'll leave it to you guys."

"All right, thanks."

"I'm worried about her father as well. Let's do a quick check before we head to Parm." Venti suggest it.

"I'm all in." Kurt nodded

"Same here." Altina added

"Count me in as well." Cedric nodded

"Then it settle. Let's check out Drekner Fortress first then head to Parm." Juna nodded

We nodded and then we begin to head towards the North Sutherland Highway. As we taken for a small walk. We see from a distance is Imperial Soldiers with Soldats ready. So seeing Drekner Fortress is out of the question. We then return to Saint-Arkh and made our way into South Sutherland Highway.

"All right, looks like we're finally on our way to Parm!" Juna declared

"Yep. Parm should be along this highway, just like before." I said. "Actually, now that I think about it. Should we have a look at where we had our field exercise camp?"

"I was thinking of that as well." Juna added. "Great minds think alike, right?"

"Well, it's an area off the highway." Altina pondered. "And security may be non-exsistent by now, even around the RMP detour rails."

"If there's a chance we could gather information on the singularity, it could be worth a try." Kurt said. "Besides, we are heading in that direction, I see no reason not investigate."

Cedric nodded. "All right, then let's swing by at the empty field camp."

"Oh wait, how are we going to get by without the bikes and horses?" Juna asked.

"Walking to Parm is out of the question…" Altina frown.

"I'm glad you ask!" I smirked

"You thought of something, Levi?" Cedric asked

"Yep. We can use the horses."

"The horses? But how exactly?" Venti asked

"Like this."

I forward my hand and a gray magic circle appeared and then it was glowing. And then emerge from the magic circles are the horses.

"Whoa!" Juna exclaimed

"You summon the horses?!" Kurt asked

"Yep." I nodded. "They're actually the horses from the branch campus. I've been training them to react to my summoning. The horses that Jusis brought back in Heimdallr were also there. Ever since the day before the Great Twilight was brought forth. I had the branch campus horses and the horses Jusis brought teleported to my Isolation home field. And when you all were unconscious, minus Cedric. I teleported to my isolated home and train the horses Jusis brought to react to my summoning. I did apologize to them but they're more then happy to help. We can use the horses anytime we want."

"Whoa, that's amazing!" Venti exclaimed

"Yes, this will definitely help out a lot!" Cedric nodded

"Yay! Now we don't have to walk all the way to Parm!" Juna cheered

"You have been preparing well, Levi. I'm honestly surprised." Kurt added. "Still, this will be a great help."

I chuckled. "Thanks. In any event, let's ride, shall we?"

Then I chose the brown horse. Juna use the white one. Kurt use the brown horse. Cedric use the brown horse and Venti use the black horse. Altina ride with Juna. Juna should be able to ride the horses thanks to the field study and riding the Orbal Bikes. Then we begin to ride to the ex-camp.

"Aaah, it's good to be out in the open again." Kurt said as we ride.

"Yeah... but it's supposed to be summer, but it sure doesn't feel like it." Juna pointed out.

"That's true. I don't feel the summer heart." Venti nodded

"It is a bit disappointing." Altina comment.

"I wonder if the Great Twilight has something to do with it." Cedric wondered

"It's possible." I replied

As we ride. We also encounter monsters and strong monsters and we begin to fight them. After defeating them. We got back on our horses and ride again.

"Look, there it is." Venti said as he pointed ahead the location of the Ex base camp.

"Yes. The site of our field exercise camp." Alina nodded

"Let's check it out." Kurt advised.

We made our way to the field camp. As we arrived. We found Black Pleroma Grass.

"What?!" Kurt respond in surprised

"What in the world?!" I exclaimed as we dismount.

"It looks nothing like it did before." Altina stated

"Look at the grass, that's gotta be the Black Pleroma grass Emma and the others talk about."

"I've never seen Pleroma Grass in such a deep shade of red. It looks like black flames." "Kurt said

"I think the Great Twilight must mutate it."

"Does that mean this is the singularity?" Altina asked.

Juna looked around and then gasped. "Guys, look!"

On our left at the corner of the camp, was a panzer soldat in pink. I see it has the branch campus emblem. that means it's Juna's Soldat.

"Isn't that your Panzer Soldat Juna?" I asked. "How in the world did it get here?"

"Last time we saw it, it got swallowed up by the distortion in spacetime." Altina said.

"So the Soldats we had to leave behind, they ended up being teleported away and scattered around Erebonia?" I groaned. "Aww, man... Now that's another thing we have to find."

"Still, I don't think it's a coincidence it ended up somewhere we have a strong connection to." Cedric said.

"We'd better check, just to make sure." Juna stated

I paused as he suddenly felt a powerful surge nearby.

"Wait! Something is coming!" I shout to alert everyone.

The Black Pleroma Grass from the nearby pile released a small amount of smoke and then, a giant magic knight appeared.

"Isn't that a Magic Knight- an orbal golden from the Dark Ages?!" Cedric exclaimed as all got our weapons out.

"Ugh, just what we need now." I muttered "All of you, get ready for battle now! This Magic Knight will be tough!"

"We can take it, Levi!" Juna stated

"Commencing attack!" Altina added

I link up with Venti, Juna with Altina, and Kurt with Cedric.

"Stand strong! Reserve Red!" Cedric shouts his brave order and we felt power.

Then we charge onto the Divine Knights. We end up delivering critical blows onto it and we end up also following up attacks onto it. I was having some fun from striking the Magic Knight as Venti cover me. Cedric's Brave Order definitely helping us out and we dodge the Magic Knight attacks. Each time the Magic Knight attacks. We dodge and counter attack with Critical, leaving an opening for everyone. The Magic Knight roared. Soon we all lead out our crafts onto it and push it back and then the magic knight was weakened, but it wouldn't stop attacking.

"We did it…" Altina said.

"Juna, get to the Drakken!" Kurt requested.

"Right!" Juna nodded

The magic knight suddenly got up. It heal itself already?

Just before I was ready to counterattack it, Suddenly, Juna's soldat swooped in to save us at the last second. I saw her soldat glow. I then saw Juna pull out the little necklace which glowed brightly as much as her soldat did. I guess the reason would be explained later, we had a battle we needed to wrap up at the moment. Juna then use her Soldat to attack the Magic Knight with one attack and the Magic Knight Explode into purple Light.

I'm surprised what just happened. Then the Black Pleroma Grass suddenly disappeared.

"Phew, we defeated it for real this time." Kurt sighed. "Juna, what did you do back there?"

"It looked like you were able to connect with the Drakkhen somehow." Altina said.

"I don't know how to explain it. I have no idea how it happened either." Juna replied. "But it felt kind of like when we connected with Instructor Rean before."

"Hmm, could it be that Rean's link is still capable of reaching us?" I pondered. "We better ask Rose about that if we get back."

"Oh?" Altina blinked

"It did seem similar, now that you mention it." Kurt said.

"Well, in that case, I'll make the call." I got out my ARCUS II and called for Roselia before putting the call on loudspeaker. "Hey Rose? We found a patch of Black Pleroma Gass that was at an empty ex-field camp."

"Hmm...Black Pleroma Grass, you say?" She responded. "So it's made an appearance in Sutherland, too."

"Does this mean you've been in touch with the old Class VII?" Kurt asked.

"Indeed. They discovered the grass while searching for the singularity. There's no doubt it has some connection to the Great Twilight. But that is not the singularity. The pendulum I gave you would be reacting otherwise."

Juna sighed. "Aw man, I almost got my hopes up for a minute."

"The Magic Knight seems to have mainly reacted to the Drakkhen, too." Altina said.

"Hm, I can only speculate on that point." Roselia replied. "This could mean that the connections you formed with the Ashen Knight in the Gral is still active."

"You mean...my connection with Valimar?" Juna asked.

"Really? Even now?" Kurt added

"As a 'secondary contractor', you were able to supply it with mana with Levi as your wellspring." Roselia "That, combined with your own strong will, allowed you to control it."

"I guess this is one more thing we have to thank Instructor Rean for." Kurt said.

"Too true." I sighed. "You really are one of a kind, Rean."

"Even with him MIA, it still feels like he's right here bailing us out." Venti smiled.

"If you could learn to control it, this could be a valuable asset." Altina said.

"That can be applied to the rest of us as well since we're able to pilot soldats too." I then looked at Altina. "Oh, wait, I forgot that you don't have one yet, sorry."

"It is okay, I can use my power for a different purpose." She brought out her black doll. "Claiomh Solais! Black Shade!"

Her combat shell then flew to Juna's soldat and cast a barrier before both vanished away.

"Woah! Where did it go?" Juna asked.

"I'm using Claiomh Solias's stealth mode to hide it from view." Altina answered. "We should be able to use the auto-thrusters to bring it to us if the need ever arises."

"I had no idea you could do that." Kurt said. "But you're right, it could prove useful."

"And here I thought I can use my magic and store it in my inventory. Thanks for that Altina." I smiled

"Thanks, Allie!" Juna cheered

"Hehe, I guess today is your lucky day." Roselia spoke. "Feel free to contact me if anything else happens. Until then."

"Yeah, we'll talk again later." I replied before ending the call. "Well, at least we got something out of this."

"Totally!" Juna cheered

"Right. It's good to know we have a Panzer Soldat at our disposal, and this new strain of Pleroma Grass could be a valuable lead."

"You're right." Venti nodded. "Once we got up our breathe, let's make our way back to Parm."

Altina nodded. "Sounds good."

We left the ex-field camp, got back on our horses, and ride our way to Parm. On our way to Parm, we encounter a strange silver chest. But then I remember it was a trial chest. This was used to awaken new potential and power. But only certain fighters can be trialed. Once the trial is complete. Part of the Brave order has been upgraded. We got back on our Horses and ride again,

"There, I see it!" Juna said as we can see Parm from here.

"It's a good thing you provided us horses, Levi." Kurt complimented me.

"Hehe. Well I do love horseback riding. But I was glad to prepared for something like this." I smiled

We arrived at the entrance to Parm.

"Phew! We're finally here." Juna said.

"It's been a long journey." Altina added.

"The bright side is the horses was able to make time quick." Cedric smiled. "So this is Parm. It's a wonderful town."

"I'm glad you think so, Your-" Kurt then click and then clear his throat. "Cedric. It hasn't changed since we came here for our field study."

"This was your childhood home as I recalled." Venti recalled. "But it's also a certain village nearby it."

"Yes. It's on the way to the Liberl border." Altina nodded

"Now that we're in Parm, let's get some more Intel and find Pablo and Tatiana." I said

Juna nodded. "Yeah, let's visit the training hall while we look for them."

"A sound idea." Kurt agreed. "Let's go."

We had a look around the village and it seemed that not much had changed since we were last here. We then went over to the training hall but there are people there. And a small van parked near the highway entrance.

"Looks like someone's outside the training hall." Juna said

"What?" Kurt blinked

"Wait, those uniforms." I said as I look exam the uniform from a safe distance.

Those uniforms are from Heimdallr's Military Police.

"So the Heimdallr Military Police are here as well." Cedric sighed.

"Why are they here? The sign's been removed as well." Kurt said. "I wonder what happened to all the students?"

"From what I can tell, they've all gone to Heimdallr." A voice answered.

We then saw a young man wearing a casual clothes, sporting a chequered button-down shirt over a black long-sleeved turtle neck, a padded sleeveless jacket and jeans with red sneakers. Beanie hat and holding an orbal camera. Wait a minute... I regonize that voice, beanie hat and face.

"I recognize that voice and face. Is that you, Rex?!" I asked as I look surprised

"Well, well, you sure changed a lot, Levi. You're even more handsome than before. I swear, it's like Aidios gave you the gift of beauty."

"That's a fairly expensive model of Orbal Camera… are you a journalist?" Altina asked.

"Oh, man, was it that obvious?"

"Well I remember you were in the Photo club so it make sense you're a journalist now." I said

"Hehe, true. I'm the Imperial Chornicle's world-famous photographer. The one, the only, Rex! And on that note...you two cuties are real works of art. Mind if I get a quick photo?"

I frowned as I sighed. "Yep. It really is you Rex. You haven't changed at all."

"Uh.., maybe some other time." Juna answered as she scratch her cheeks. "You said you're with the Imperial Chronicle?"

"Are you a friend of Vivi's by any chance?" Kurt asked.

"Oh, you know her? She's in a different department, but yeah, we're colleagues." Rex replied. "She's gone quiet, though. There's no way to get in touch with her either. You don't know what she's been up to, do you?"

"Sadly no. We don't know what happened to her." I answered

"Wherever she wandered off to, I hope she's at least found a big scoop. Anyway, as for me, I've just finished interviewing the guys at Titus Gate so I've got some free time on my hands. I've got this project. 'Cuties of Erebonia'. You sure you don't want to be featured?"

"He appears to be quite sleazy." Altina whispered.

"He'd give Randy or Sindey a run for his mira." Juna added quietly.

"Sorry Rex, they're not interested." I said with a dry-look on my face.

"Aw, that's a shame. Then again, maybe I could ask one of your old Class VII buddies." Rex winked.

"Be my guest, but they'll respond the same thing." I sweatdrop as I frown again.

"You've mentioned you went to Titus Gate? That's the borderline of Librel." Cedric asked. "Anything going on there?"

"Not yet, but something's brewing, I can tell you. I took some photos for now, before all hell breaks loose. Might make for a dramatic comparison later." Rex answered "I managed to wrangle some info-" Then he click. "Oops, shouldn't said that."

"Reeex." I crossed my arm "If you know something. Would you kindly tell us?"

"Yes, there are things we need to know. What about the disciples from the training hall? You said they've been sent away? Can you tell us more, please?" Kurt asked.

"All right. They've been headhunted for some special project. The Empire's most promising fighters are being snatched up to pilot Panzer Soldats."

"What?!"

"So they're being drafted into those things for the upcoming war with Calvard?" Venti asked.

"Well, yeah. That's the idea." Rex nodded "You thought with the war just around the corner they'd let Vander school disciples peacefully practice their skills in their hall?"

Kurt clenched his fist.

"I swear, that bastards really knows how to piss me off." I muttered "I can't believe he would have them forced into his schemes."

"Why do you know this much?" Altina asked.

Rex then gasped. "O-oh, look at the time! I'm going to be late for my train! Oh, by the way, wanna exchange contact info, just in case you find Vivi and you can let me know."

"Hold it, Rex!" I said but then he ran away in a hurry.

The students agreed to find Vivi. But damnit. Fine, I'll let him go for now.

"He was quick to make his exit when we started asking him questions." Altina said.

"I guess being a journalist has its rules and restrictions on what they can and can't share." Cedric replied.

"I guess that make sense." I sighed. "In any case. I'm worried about Vivi. That girl always know how to get into trouble. But we're also worried about you Kurt."

"Yeah, you feeling okay?" Juna nodded

"Yes." Kurt sighed. "I was just a bit shocked that the disciples were conscripted."

"I'm afraid they don't have a choice due to the National Mobilization Law in effect." Cedric sadden "However, we don't know for certain that they've been forced to join the imperial troops."

"Perhaps..."

"What do we do now?" Altina asked. "No one is at the hall."

"And Pablo and Titiana aren't here either." Venti added "Should we go to the tailor's and wait?"

"Yes, let's." Kurt nodded

From behind us, was one of the branch campus students we heard about.

"Oh, Pablo!" Juna smiled

"Looks like you just got back. Good timing." Kurt added

"I knew it! Levi and Class Vll! Wait, is that the Cro-" We gave Pablo the signals to not say that title." Pablo said. " Oops my bad! Glad to see yer all okay, but what in the world are yae doin' here?!"

We went into the general good store and continued the conversation from there, exchanging our news.

"Ah, so Kairi told yae I'd be here, did he?" Pablo asked. "Man, you lot sure are a sight for sore eyes! Glad yae see you're well. But I wouldnae expect any less from the likes of Class VII and Levi. But I sure wasn't expecting the Crown Prince to join you too."

"We're glad to see you too." Kurt smiled

"Gathering intel working part-time to keep a roof over your head can't be easy." Juna replied.

"Oh, it hasn't been all that bad." Pablo said. "Helpin' out at the workshop has taught me a trick or two, to boot. Probably should nae have introduced myself as Mint's apprentice, through. Moments the words let me mouth, the boss turned white as a sheet."

I couldn't help but laughed. "That's part is understandable. This is Mint we're talking about. Even Schmidt can't deal with her. I hope Mint is okay. But as for Schmidt. I wonder where he is? Speaking of people who are missing. Where's Tatiana? Wasn't she with you Pablo?"

"Aye, I do, but she set off for the Liberlian border. Said she was meetin' up with someone there."

"The Liberlian border..." Altina pondered. "Wouldn't that be Titus Gate?"

"But that's a MILITARY BASE!" Juna exclaimed. "What's she thinking heading over there on her own?"

"I tried to stop her, but she kept tellin' me she'd be fine an' that her friend was gonna meet her there." Pablo replied. "She went by bus, so I'm sure she'll make it there just fine, at least."

"Maybe we should go and check in on her, just in case." Kurt advised

"Yeah. We also need to check on about the black Pleroma Grass too." Venti nodded "Speaking off, do you know anything about them?"

"Aye, we had a few customers mention seein' something like that up on the old road nearby." Pablo answered

"Old road? You mean Agria Old Road?" I asked

"That's the one. Lemme think... It was a little while ago. They mentioned seein' it near some kinda stone monument."

"Huh? That sounds a lot like the place we fought that archaism?" Kurt said

"Yeah, right down to the stone monument thing. Do you think it's actually related to the singularity this time?" Juna asked

"If it is, we have somewhere else to look." Cedric smiled.

"Thanks for the tip, Pablo." Venti smiled

"Nae worries." Pablo nodded. "Sorry it's not all that much. Thought I woulda found some better info by now to give to yae."

"It's okay, we'll find out the rest ourselves."

"If yae happen to run into Tatiana, give her my regards. I'll see if I can dig anything else up for yae on the singularity."

"Thanks Pablo." I nodded. "Alright class, let's head to that stone monument first."

The five of them nodded and we said our byes to Pablo before leaving Parm through Agria Old Road. We battle some monsters for extra combat experiences. After that, walk up the stairs

"The monument should be somewhere up there on the plateau." Kurt said.

"I think you're right." Juna comment

"You got good memory. If we follow this path, we'll reach it." I said

"Let's begin our search."

"Right. Hope we can find the singularity while we're at is." Venti nodded

"Yeah. Let us hope we do." Cedric replied

We then made our way over to the small area where the stone monument was... Except when we got here. We found a shrine instead. But... how was that possible?

"Huh? This is..." Juna said in surprise.

"A Spirit Shrine? Judging from the design... It's must be the Draco Shrine. It wasn't here before" I added.

"A Spirit Shrine?" Cedric turn to us.

Then we begin to explain to him what are Spirit Shrines.

"I see. You all had quite the adventure. I wish I could be part of it..."

"But you are right now, this one is a new discover." Venti pointed out

"Oh, yeah, you're right. If that's the case, then how did this Spirit Shrine appear?"

"This is the same place fought the base defense heavy-class archaism. I don't remember seeing those ruins here back then," Altina said.

"They look a lot like the Bryonia Island Ruins." Juna said.

"Yeah, the design looks the same but the color is different." Venti nodded

"You're right. We may find some clues here. Let's go check it out." I nodded

"if we're going in there, we'll need to be prepared first." Kurt advised.

We went inside the ruins. We go further.

"This place is reminiscent of the ruins of Bryonia Island." Kurt comment

"You're right. The Sol Shrine." I nodded

"That's where Millium was-" Juna then covered her mouth and look sad. "Er! I mean..." Then she sighed. "I'm sorry, Allie."

"It's all right, Juna." Altina replied.

"We'll avenge Millium. That I swear." I said.

We walked a long way down until we entered an area roaming with monsters.

"We only found an alter at the end of the Bryonia Island ruins, but there's no telling what lies, ahead here." Kurt said.

"We'll need to keep on high alert if we continue further." Altina advised. "There are monsters littering the area at every turn."

"Roger that!" Juna nodded "Oh, Actually, let me check something real quick." Juna pulled out the pendulum but nothing happen."Hmm... Nothing. Doesn't look like there's a singularity around."

"But I am curious about this place." Venti replied. "There may be clues as Levi pointed out."

"Right. Let us see what's at the end." I nodded

"Understood!" Kurt nodded

We begin to explore the Draco Shrine and going turn to left and right corners. It's honestly like an easy maze. We begin to deal with the monsters roaming around and finding treasure chests. Soon we made it to the end. The Draco Shrine ALter looks similar to back at the Sol Shrine.

Suddenly a giant snake-like monster wrap in a jewel appeared.

Soon we begin for battle. I link up with Altina.

"Rise and Fight: Angel's Vigor!" I shout as I used my Brave Order.

I use my Brave order: Angel Valor to increase our attacks and also gave us some buff stats. We begin to fight against the monster as it keep using casting powerful earth arts onto us. I use Auroura's Light and Altina heal us with her Argem Heal Craft. Cedric launch some swordplay attacks along with Kurt as Juna launch some baton attacks. Then the monster use a breath attack on us to petrified us but we dodge in. And then We all launch a counterattack. Venti use his craft to create a wind domain as it lift into the air and slam on the ground, and allow everyone to follow up and I summoned Hamsuke to join the battle. Once it got back up, it begin to continue casting powerful arts unto us. We had to get serious and fast and then we all launch a counterattack on it and then soon we manage to defeat it…somehow…

"Damn...that was tough." I sighed. "I was this close to getting serious."

"Phew! I've never seen a monster like that before." Juna sighed.

"It certainly prove a challenge for certain." Cedric added.

"But the bright side is thanks to that battle, we gain some experience to hone us." Venti stated

"So is this a dead end?" Juna asked

Kurt look around. "You're right. It seems like there isn't a singularity here.

Suddenly, we heard a heartbeat and our view was clouded with a vision and there were voices being spoken.

"I have a certain...proposal that you might find of interest. And as it so happens, everything we need to execute it can be found nearby. There is, after all, only room for one in this deal..." Alberich said

"I can't even remember why we chose that place for our final showdown. But it's obvious to me now. You've been the one pullin' the strings behind our backs this whole time." Rutger respond

The vision then ended and we could see normally again.

"What the... Is it me or did we see Alberich and Zephyr?" Venti asked.

"Yes, it would seem that we all saw the same vision." Altina replied.

"Even me. But I had to admit, I'm surprised." Cedric added

"It's just like back at the civil war." I hummed. "No... this feels... different."

"What do you think it means?" Kurt asked "There seemed to be another Awakener involved."

"We should let Fie and Instructor Rean know when he's back!" Juna said.

"Good thinking." I nodded. "We found some good pieces of information. It might be wise to look through these ruins if we see more of them elsewhere. For now, let's get out of here and get back to our main goal."

"Indeed." Altina nodded

"All right!" Kurt nodded

But still, what was with that vision we saw? This could prove to be very useful if we gather all the pieces together. Another reason why we needed to get Rean back as soon as possible.

We left the ruins and made our way to Parm Byroad, a bus was by the bus stop, but it pulled away just before we could see who was on it.

"Aw, we missed it!" Juna frown.

"Don't worry, we can use the horses." I said as I summoned the horses again. "It's would be way better then riding the bus." I begin to climb up my chosen horse

"You're right." Public transportation may have been alerted to our likenesses." Kurt nodded as he and the other students approach the horses and begin to mount up. "Let us ride to Titus Gate."

"Yeah!" Juna cheered

"I don't have to use Claiomh Solais now that we have the horses." Altina said as she ride behind Juna.

Then we begin to ride our way to the Byroad. As we ride. We begin to take on some monsters and move on. Then we spotted a familiar path.

"Oh! Over there!" Juna said as we stop and see that familiar path.

"That road leads to Hamel." Altina added

"Ash's hometown..." Venti sadden

"It look like it's been block off by the army." Kurt sighed.

We kept going but then the students explore a fit around and then we reach a peak familiar to them.

"Man, it feels like ages since we've been here." Juna said as see the view from Hamel entrance.

"This is right where we hid the Drakkhen if memories serves." Kurt nodded

"Oh yeah, Ash was clever how he 'borrowed' the Drakkhen as a distraction." Venti chuckled

"Ash's plan was really quite good." Altina added

"Hahaha, oh yeah, that's where you all went AWOL to help us out." I laughed.

"Really?" Cedric smirked. "Why Kurt. You never told me this."

"It's something you shouldn't be hearing Your Highness." Kurt sighed

After a few bits of good time. We resume riding. Soon we pass the same bus that was left back then.

"Looks like the bus is returning back from Titus Gate." I said. "But if Tatiana were to be on it right now. Then all that riding was for nothing."

"Don't worry. She wouldn't have left the gate yet I know it." Juna smiled

"I didn't see anyone on the bus that looked like her." Kurt added

"Levi, you can drop the act. We know you been testing us." Venti said with a grin on his face.

"It is fairly obvious, and I believe you know we're aware as well."

"Not bad all of you." I wink. "All that training with me to increase your skills, sharpness and six sense really paid off. I'm getting the hang of the instructor and assistant part."

"In any case, we're half way to reach Titus Gate. I should know because I been here before." Venti pointed out. "Let us be off."

"Got it."

We kept along the main road so as we combat monsters for extra experience in combat.

Eventually, we reached past an archway and in front of us was a giant gate.

"Whoa." Juna comment.

"I can see why they call this Titan's Gate, it's huge!" I blinked

"Yep. This is where Tita and I enter Erebonia." Venti nodded

"Titus Gate, the border post between here and the Kingdom of Liberl." Altina said.

"It's even bigger than I imagined." Juna added.

"Well, the Empire did fight Liberl 14 years ago." I said as my eyes close. "Actually make that an invasion."

"That's true..." Kurt nodded as he look around. "It seems there are troops from the Armored Division here. Did you see the marking on their uniforms?"

"You're right." Venti nodded. "It's the first Armored Division."

"They were once in charge of the capital's perimeter defense." Altina added

"It must be something big that's brought them here." Juna said "Let's try and find Tatiana. Maybe she can tell us something that'll explain what's going on."

"I can see a rest area for civilians on the far left, let's try there first." Cedric suggested.

We dismount and the horses were teleported back.

Then we got a message from Rex about sending him some good picture. Well we found one and I took a picture. Once I send him a picture.

"Whoa, not bad." Rex smiled. "Here's a little somethin' for your troubles."

Then he send us a picture of Elise?!

"What the- a picture of Elise?!" I asked as I look surprised

"Yeah. Top-quality stuff, no?"

"It is a well-taken picture, from an objective standpoint." Altina said with a dry face.

"That's Instructor Rean's sister, Elise." Juna nodded

"Reeex." I gave him a dry face. "How did you managed to take a picture of Elise? You know where she is?"

"Yeah, you're... Levi if i'm not mistaken."

"How do you know me?"

"I guess it has been two years. It's me, Anton."

"Ooooh!" I respond in surprise. No wonder he looks familiar. "No wonder you look familiar."

"You know this guy?" Juna asked

"Yeah, he's Anton, he's a tourist from Liberl. Back then before me and Rean graduated. He sort of asked us to help set up a date with Sharon."

"You guys set up him on a date with Sharon?" Venti blinked

"Aww that's nice of you guys!" Juna cheered

"You guys know Sharon? Do you know where she is?" Anton asked with a smile

We then turned to see a big girl who was dressed up with bright colors.

"So it's not just Vivi too. Since the Great Twilight hs begun. Mint, Linde, and everyone else disappeared too."

"Indeed. You can add Ferris and Patrick to that little list of yours." Margarita replied. "They were in Heimdallr at the time as well. That's why we have split up into different regions to collect any information on them that we can. The information exchange with Tatiana is a part of that."

"I see." Kurt said.

"Yes, our families have long been friends." Margarita smiled but then she frown. "After exchanging information, she returned to Parm, but..."

We left the rest area to take a moment to refocus. We contacted Kairi and Pablo on the situation while we were at it as well.

"Never thought Ash would be around in Sutherland." I said

"The Hamel tragedy fourteen years ago had been buried in the Empire's shadows and forgotten." Kurt said. "Is it true that he was the third survivor?"

"Yeah. I've also found out he's the third survive with the others back in the brief meeting."

"The ruins of Hmel are located in the province of Sutherland... It hasn't been confirmed, but the likelihood of Ash is there is quite high." Altina replied

"We haven't seen him since the Emperor was shot." Juna added. "Hard to believe he's somewhere that close."

"Even though we still don't have a new lead on the singularity, it would be better if we go and find him." Cedric suggested. "I'm sure Instructor Rean would want us to do that as well."

"Yeah. But.. you feeling okay Cedric?" I asked

"I'm guessing you're referring that he shot my father. I'm aware that wasn't his doing. I bear no ill grudge against him. He was being controlled by that black haze back then."

"I see. It makes us happy to know that. Still, knowing Ash, he's probably feeling the guilt after what happened."

"You're right, we need to hear what happen then directly from Ash." Kurt nodded. "It could set him free, even if we're the only one who forgive him for what he's done."

"And he's part of Class VII. He's our classmate regardless." Venti nodded "Let us hurry to Hamel."

"All right, let's head over to Hamel Village." I nodded

"An abandoned road leading to an abandoned mountain pass..." Kurt hummed. "It's been closed off, but we should see for ourselves."

We left the Titus Gate area and ride all the way to the gates that led into the forest, the gates however were open. We dismount and see the lock.

"There are scratches around the keyhole." Altina said. "From the looks of it, someone forced the lock open with a wire, such as those used for lockpicking."

"I had a feeling it's a certain bad boy." I sighed.

"If the smaller footprints are Tatiana's then you might be onto something!" Juna nodded. "All right, let's-" Then the pendulum begin to glow. Juna brought out the pendulum and it was glowing. " Th-The pendulum's reacting!"

"Does that mean there's something up ahead?" Kurt asked.

"No doubt, but we should take extreme caution." I advised. "If Ash and Tatiana are in there, we'll need to catch up to them soon, and with the pendulum reacting like that, we may face off against a tough battle, so be prepared for a fight."

"Right!" They replied in unison.

We entered into the forest and straight away, we saw more of the Black Pleroma Grass.

"Black Pleroma Grass. It seems we have found our singularity." I said "However, the very air here has changed."

"I surmise that something has activated the higher elements." Altina nodded

"No doubt about it. Let's hurry and find Ash and Tatiana." Venti nodded

"Right!" We nodded

We kept onwards, making our way through the hill path, we encounter monsters blocking our way and defeated them. When we reached the second part, we heard a voice.

"S-stop! D-Don't come any closer!"

"That voice!" Juna said as we regonize that voice.

"It came from over there!" Altina pointed at the direction.

We rushed to the source of the voice to find a student surrounded by monsters and with a red soldat behind her. It's Tatiana!

"I...I can't keep fighting... Everyone please...Ash!"

Juna and the others strike at the plant monsters and stop them from advancing to Tatiana. Then we begin to get in front of Tatiana.

"Huh? Levi? And Class VII? A-And Prince Cedric!?"

"Thank goodness you're safe Tatiana!" I sigh with relief. "Leave this to us!

"Everyone, battle stations! Let's do this!" Juna command

"Right!" Altina nodded!

She stood back and we went in for the strike.

I link up with Cedric and we both charge into attack. His Flame base crraft launched a powerful attack with some jabbing and then slash through them as I follow up. and then use my craft onto the monsters as everyone else was doing the same. Soon we over come it. The coast was clear and we turned to Tatiana.

We put our weapons away and check on Tatiana

"Phew, looks like you aren't injured." Kurt said.

"Are you okay, Tatiana?" Juna asked.

"I-I'm fine, I'm just so glad you guys are okay!" Tatiana replied. "I didn't think I'd ever see you all again."

"No kidding, that was a close one." I muttered. "At least we made it in time. I'm surprised you came here alone."

"It was good we made it in time to help." Altina nodded

"I'm thankful that you did." Tatiana sighed of relief. "What are you all doing here?"

Then we begin to explain the situation with her.

"Oh, you're looking for Ash? I thought I saw him from the bus, about halfway to the gate, but it was only for a second."

"You stopped by and found this, right?" Juna asked as she turn to the Soldat.

"A crimson Hector... A Mk. II, to boot." Kurt nodded

"I can see the branch emblem on it. It's one of ours." I said. "Judging from it. It was used recently. So that's how Ash got here."

"We'll have to leave it here for now." Juna advised. "Tatiana, do you mind waiting a while? We'll get Kairi and Pablo to come pick you up."

"What? No! I want to come with you." Tatiana replied

"You're in no condition to fight." Venti shake his head. "You still need to recover after that ambush earlier."

"He's right, don't worry. We can handle it." Cedric nodded

"Please trust us." Altina replied. "It is in our hands. When we do this, it'll be in your name as well. We will not fail."

Tatiana nodded. "All right, Class VII, the rest is up to you!

"Right." I nodded. "We're almost there. Let's go."

"Got it!" Juna nodded

We then carried on the path, fighting strong monsters, we soon arrived where the flowers we used for those who lost their lives here.

"Here too." Altina trailed off.

"There are the same flower we gathered before, aren't they." Kurt asked

"It's kinda sad seeing them like this." Juna added

"Yeah. The flowers must be overwhelm with them." Venti sighed

"I don't like it either. But we must stay focus and find Ash." I replied

We soon reach the huge open area where we fought that giant aion months ago and where I showed my powers in front of the new Class VII for the first time. But now, there were more patches of the black Pleroma Grass.

"More black Pleroma Grass. They truly are ruining nature." I sighed

"Juna." Altina turn to Juna.

Juna pulled the Pendulum was glowing brighter than before, this led us to assume that the singularity was close by.

"Right, the core's just up ahead." Juna nodded

"That's where we'll find Ash... Let's go." Kurt said.

"Right." Cedric nodded. "I want to see the ruined village my countryman had destroyed..."

We then entered the Hamel Village, most of the place was overgrown with the black Pleroma Grass.

"So this is Hamel Village..." Cedric look around and sadden. "How awful..."

"When we came here before, it was so peaceful and quiet." Juna said.

Altina hummed. "And now, the black Pleroma Grass has given this place an ominous unpleasant feel."

"Yeah, the weight of the past is still standing here." Venti added. "As if the village is frozen in time, untouched by man."

"This is Ash's hometown after all. No doubt it's important to him." I nodded. "I can sense him. He's nearby."

We walked up the stairs on our left, and found our Mr. troublemasker himself.

"Ash!" Kurt called to him as we stood close to where he was.

"You're really here." Altina said.

"Thank Aidios! I'm so glad you're okay!" Juna added.

"Looks like our instincts were right." I sighed. "You made a lot of us worry you know."

"The hell...what are you doing here?" Ash asked. "Haha, this has gotta be some sorta sick joke."

"It's no joke, Ash. We've been going around trying to regain what was lost after the Great Twilight occurred. So why are you here for?"

"Come on, you know exactly who I am and what I did. I'm an assassin sent by Calvard. The traitorous piece of shit who shot the emperor and started this war."

"But that wasn't..." Altina paused.

"And?! What's your point?!" Juna asked. "The curse in your left eye made all that happen, right? Not of this is your fault."

"Yeah, sure, the curse did it. It's like I wasn't even there. That's one sorry-ass excuse." Ash dismissed. "At the end of the day, I'm the one who pulled the trigger. "I can't deny that I'm more than mad at you after what you did." Cedric said as he close his eyes. "That you shoot my father in cold blood. I would no doubt take my sword and shove it at your chest."

"But-" Altina trailed off

"Guys." I turn to the new Class VII. "Let him finish."

"Thank you, Levi." Cedric replied. "Perhaps it was Aidios who guided me to you after all. Perhaps you can say this was my main reason to join the others after what you did. That I want to make you pay."

"Heh." Ash then let out a smirk and nodded as he look down. "Well, what are you waiting for. Do it."

Ash look surprised and turn to Cedric.

"I know what really happened to you Ash. It is as you said. You were forced to give in to the voice of the curse. That curse took advantage of your hatred, sadness, sorrow, and pain and turn that all into rage, for what my countryman had done to your once beloved hometown. You have suffered so very long in all your life. Anyone can understand that. Espcually since both my father and the government allow Hamel to be wiped off the map because of my countryman did. Just to keep the dark truth from spreading. The Queen of Liberl must feel so guilty for that. But it was my nation's government that force her to keep it quiet. You're a victim Ash. You may even say what you did was justice, for all that you suffer. That is why my father let you shot him, didn't he?"

That surprised us. The Emperor allow Ash to shoot him.

"My father knows you have been suffering from both the curse and the incident of Hamel. Your pain, your anger... he wanted to end it all. He wanted to save you Ash, from all this suffering you have been forced by the curse. If I have taken my blade and killed you right now. My father will no doubt be upset. That his kindness was all in vain. That I kill someone who was a victim to it all."

"Your Highness..." Kurt sadden.

"That is why I am not angry with you Ash. I'm angry at the curse itself. For putting you through all this. This is what I wanted to say to you. I'm sorry."

Ash look surprised.

"I'm sorry for what my horrible countryman did to your hometown. And I am sorry that my country curse has done to you. That is why I hold no grudge against you. It's the curse I hold a grudge against."

Ash scoff "The curse, huh? The same curse that forced me to shoot your daddy? It doesn't matter if the curse forced me to or not. What matters is that It was I who shot your father. Get lost, I'm done talking. My part in all this is over. Only thing left for me to do is leave the stage. Probably should've died here with everyone else, anyway."

"Don't you DARE talk like that, Ash!" Juna said. "This isn't the end. Not by a long shot. None of us know what we're supposed to do, but we're doing everything we can together! And we're not the only one… There's the old Class Vll and everyone from the branch campus too. You think we're just sit by and let you pretend that you're done?! That you have nothing left to do but die!? No way we'd allow that! You're one of us, Ash! You're a member of Class VII!"

"Tch...cut the crap already." Ash replied. "With everything going on now, there's no way-"

"There IS a way. There's always a way." Altina interrupt. "Because we've all made up our minds. To support you. And Instructor Rean. To understand you and ease the burdens you carry."

"Huh?"

"I had a feeling you wouldn't know. Just so you know, what we just said is true. Rean is in the worst spot than yours ." Cedric sighed. "He's the one who caused the Great Twilight to happen. After what happened to Millium, he fell into rage that he failed to protect Millium. That rage coursed him to slaughter the Holy Beast and trigger the Great Twilight."

"But it's not just him…Rean and I are also suffering…" I added "For me… I failed to prevent the Great Twilight.. all because something force me to sleep, like I'm being controlled. And Rean… He lost complete control of his power, and our enemies are holding him captive. Rean is suffering right now. He's been like that for two weeks. That is why we're going to find him and bring him back. Starting by getting everyone back together, including you!"

Kurt approached him and kneeled down. "Look, there's no way to change the past. Tragedies, like what happened here in Hamel, can't be undone. But you, Ash-you survived it. That's nothing short of a miracle, and I refuse to believe it was meaningless. You made it to safety, and met a wonderful woman who cared for you, and raised you. And then you went to Thors. You met us, and Instructor Rean."

Ash was silent over it, and then Kurt picked him up.

"You really think your entire life was nothing more than setup for the shooting? You damn fool! How dare you act like it was all for nothing?! The curse drove you to do one awful thing. But the rest of your life? That was all your own. If you're too stupid to understand that, then feel free to sit here feeling sorry for yourself. But if you're still even the tiniest bit frustrated, if you're angry at whatever it is that used you, then just remember. That same thing is tormenting Instructor Rean right now. Tell me, Ash-Knowing all that, what do you think you need to do?"

"Hehehe, damn, you guys really don't let up." Ash responded as Kurt let him go. "It's like I'm drownin' in friggin' sap here. Guess that pain in the ass Instructor of ours really rubbed off on ya, huh?"

"I suppose he has." Kurt replied.

"But you can't deny he's had an influence on you too, Ash." Juna added.

"That's right." Altina agreed. "The fact that you came here means you're just as sentimental as the rest of us."

"Hehe, you got me there." Ash replied. "I coulda gone back to Raquel, but I decided to mope around here instead."

"Right?" Juna smiled

"Well either way, you'd be at home." Venti smiled

"Lemme make just one thing clear though. It wasn't your little pep talk that brought me around. You reminded me, that I've got a score to settle with that damn curse."

"That sounds more like you, Ash." Altina said.

"Welcome back my friend!" Venti smiled

"We're all glad you're with us now." Cedric

"Now then." I turn around. "I know you're all hiding out there. Come out!"

Suddenly, we heard someone laughing from close by.

"What a heartwarming coming-of-age drama!"

Then, a group of red solders and military monsters us surrounded.

"What the heck? Jaegers?!" Venti exclaimed.

"I knew I'd find you in the end, Ash Carbide." Another solder answered as he stood away from us. "And to have caught your Class VII friends with you? I couldn't have planned it more perfectly."

"The hell are you supposed to be?" Ash growled

"And what do you want with Class VII?!" Kurt asked.

"Heh heh heh, allow me to introduce myself then." He then removed his helmet to show his face. "I am the commander of the 6th Enhanced Jaeger Regiment! The one and only, Gilbert Stein! After overcoming years of hellish training, now...I'm finally gracing your empire with my presence!"

"They are part of Ouroboros's combat division." Altiana said. "I remember them from the database- they were involved in the incident in Liberl."

"Uh really?" Juna asked. "He looks pretty useless to me."

"Ouch~!" Venti smirked.

"U-useless?! Hmph! Nothing but the usless words of a uselss child." Gilbert responded.

I winked. "Using the same word over and over? Did you skip ahead of vocabulary school as a kid?"

Me and others attacked and it threw them off by surprise. Mine was Elemental Burst and Kurt with his technique and then Axe launched his axe trick and knock that so call commander on his back.

"All right, Let's fall back!" I command.

"This terrain isn't to our advantage. We should move to the plaza by the entrance!" Kurt added

We then retreated from the village and onto the open field area where we waited for them to catch up. This time, we were ready for them.

"Th-that was a dirty trick!" He complained. "What happened to being the pride of Erebonia?!"

"Ha, guess Ouroboros didn't tell you everything about me." I smirked. "I'm NOT Erebonian, so what I did, does not apply to me."

"What? How dare you, angel!"

"Heh. You try to act tough, but I could smell you shittin' yourself the moment you saw Levi." Ash said. "Sorry, but I don't got time to waste on trash like you."

"I've got a score to settle, and I ain't gonna let up till I've settled it. On top of that, that idiot got himself caught because of me, so I gotta go save his dumb ass!"

I laughed. "You're right. Let take of this trash and be on our way."

"Sheesh, and now he's totally back to normal." Juna said. "I can't believe I was worried."

"Yes." Altina nodded "We'll get our instructor back as a team!

And then we all link up. I link up with Altina. While Venti link up with Ash. Juna with Cedric. I use Aurora's Light while Venti use his Wind Chain craft and we buff everyone. The Enhance Jaegers begin to charge with their military monsters. Venti begin to use Stormeye on them and everyone begin to strike all of them at once.

"Ha! Perfect Bard! You're mine!" Ash smirked and then he follow up and then he launch his craft onto him and then Juna launch her strong attack while I use his craft and highly damage them along with Cedric.

"N-No fair! You drag us all in the corner!" Gilbert complain.

"This is a battlefield you idiot." I respond and then after we wipe the monsters out they tried to shoot bullets at us and Gilbert using bombs at us.

We begin to counter them and hit them as hard as we can. And then while Altina laser them, Cedric gathers them into a sphere and then sends out a flame projection and strikes at them and everyone following up. Then Kurt does a strong craft onto them and then Venti begin to use one of his craft and blast a strong wind craft and knock down the jaegers while Gilbert is all alone. As he tried to heal, counter-attack and hit us hard. We continue to counter and then strike him down. I slash at him up close then back kick. Gilbert was on the ground after that heated battle. They were tough at the beginning and the next, but we overcome them.

"Angel boy I get, but the others are we stronger than planned for." One of the Jaegers added

"Yeah... These kids are tough."

Juna panted. "Yeah, 'these kids' just kicked your ass!"

"Alright, now for the fun part." Ash smirked as he put his weapon away. "Here's how things are gonna go. First, you're gonna tell us everything you know. Then, I'm gonna show you what I do to trash like you that comes stomping into my hometown."

The combat link is the same thing from the last battle and then we begin to clash with Zelphr. But the battle is more harder than the previous one. Rutger was a powerful one as he, Xeno, and Leo are powerful fighters and push us back with slashes, bash. I begin to clash with Rutger as he launched a strong swing but I dodge and counter-attack as we slash. While Venti shoot from a distance. Xeno shoot bullets at Venti and he dodge them and then counters with his arrows in return. While everyone else is giving their all. I use Supercell Plunger on Zephyr and Venti follow up with his storm eye. Juna and the others also use their Crafts to strike Zephyr. They still standing and pushing us back. We all let some powerful crafts onto them and then I use Elemental Burst with Cedric and Altina with their Crafts. Cedric cast his Arts and launch some damage onto Xeno. And then Rutger let a powerful attack onto all of us and cause the ground to shake follow up by Zeno and Leo. But we prevail and counter-attack and push them back. Although we couldn't beat them down, we still held our own against them.

"Heh, so even those guys are going out of their way to help me now." Ash muttered

"Ash, it's up to you and Juna now!" I replied

"Go on, Ash. We could use the extra firepower." Venti said.

"Put an end to this, together!" Altina added

"Hell yeah!"

Ash and Juna were ready to take on Rutger, I hoped it would be enough to slow them down at least.

"You ain't messin' around, are you?" Rutger asked. "All right then, guess I'm done playin' with you kids. Let's see how much good those things do you against Zector!"

And so began the first divine knight battle we hadn't seen in weeks.

Ash and Juna Charge and as Rutger clash with launch some swing but then Ash jump and launched a slam attack and allowing Juna to attack and follow up. Juna use her craft and Rutger respond in kind, then follow up. Ash launched an attack as Rutger dodge and counter attack. Juna fire bullets at him and follow up. Then Ash and Juna launched another attack as Rutger clash with them again. Rutger hit Juna but Ash strike him from his opening. Soon they both launched a team attack on Rutger. Rutger block it with his weapon and then launched an counter attack. That counterattack knocked both Ash and Juna , I notice something. I can see from a glimpse that Rutger's weapon got a small crack.

"No freakin' way! Look at the boss's weapon." Xeno pointed out.

Leo hummed. "Putting a crack in a weapon forged from Zemurian ore is no easy feat."
