(Trails of Cold Steel IV ost - Still in the Front)
I teleported all my allies somewhere away from the location of the Black Workshop. I release the Divine Knights and the Panzer Soldots from my wing. They begin to levitate as I let go of them and begin their engine along with the Divine Knights. And then I placed my allies onto the ships. And then I landed. But then my Knees collapse and my wings vanished.
"Levi! You okay?!" Machias exclaimed as he help me up.
"Yeah. I'm okay. So I'm exhausted for the moment." I answered as I sigh. "I'm fine with carrying people but something heavy as Soldats and Divine Knights really takes much of my strength. Oh the bright side, we're all out of there safely and away from the workshop."
"That was so cool!" Elliot exclaimed.
"Seriously. Like wow. That's what is what I call a light show." Crow respond in Ordine.
"Not only that. That was quite the display of magic too. Summoning a Radiant Phoenix. And a… Helephant… I think it call? It was even able push back the Divine Knight." Vita added. "But I never seen such creatures existed. Oh Grandmother will upset for not being able to see such a performance."
We all sweatdrop.
"Oh yeah. Rose will definitely complain for not seeing it in action." Celine muttered.
"Still… that was amazing Levi. I… I'm actually quite speechless." Rean said through Valimar.
"I won't blame you and the others for feeling that way. To do something like that. Requires me a large amount of mana. Normally teleporting people should be a breeze... but carrying the Panzer Soldats and Divine Knight at this safe distance also requires a larger amount of my power to teleport us at a far safe distance. If I were to awaken my full power… it would be child's play. But I think it's best we leave it off at that." I replied. "Where should we go now?"
"We should all head back to Grandmother. She will like to know what happen." Emma replied.
"Yeah. Let us return to the village." Celine nodded
"Actually… I think this is where we part ways." Crow said.
"Crow?" Rean ask in worry.
"Huh? You're not coming with us?!" Elliot asked
"Why?" I asked.
"Just doesn't feel right, y'know?" Crow replied.

"Besides, with the Rivalries starting, this is no time to be making friends."

Then Duvalie jump into Ordine's hand.
"I was never trying to make friends in the first place." Duvalie said. "Come on. It's high time we left."
"That really is a shame…" Laura replied.

"I wouldn't have minded welcoming you into our ranks for a while." Aurelia said. "Duvalie in particular would be well worth training myself."

"She does seem like the type to respond to a little tough love. How about letting us pick up where Arianrhod and Leon left off?"
"You two are far too unpredictable for that!" Duvalie exclaimed. "And Vita! You're not even a swordsman!"
"Let me ask you something." Rean said. "Crow, how much do you know about the rivalries?"
"Probably about as much as you." Crow answered "You feel it, too, right? The knowledge that our destiny's comin' in hot… And where it's gonna all go down."
"Ah… you mean within the Spirit Shrines." I replied.
"So it's true after all…" Emma said.
"If you guys really want to know. Why not ask our angel here. After all. He DOES hold ancient knowledge taught by his master, after all." Crow suggested.
"Wha-!" I exclaimed. "Don't put me on the spot like that! But… I won't deny I do know about it."
"Heehee. Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me." Vita said. "Don't forget, I was the one that led you to become an Awakener. I'd be more than willing to stay by you until you're ready to go."

"Well, if you want to know about the Rivalry, you should head over to the Spirit Shines." Crow advised "Or ask our dear angel friend here. As for the location. The place where I had a near miss with you when I was 'Sieg.' I'm thinking of checking it out myself."
And then Crow left.
"And there he goes." I replied. "Seriously…calling me out like that."
"But he is not wrong about it, right?" Rean asked
"I suppose. But it was my master who told me about the Rivalries. But odd timing too… Anyway. You need to rest Rean. There is much we need to do."
"He's right. After all those time impression. Your body must be feeling worn out for the time." Emma nodded.
"Yeah, I guess so. Alright. I'll ask you about it another time." Rean nodded.
Then we begin to head our way to Emma's Hometown. Once we arrived. Rean suddenly got tired and he feel asleep. I guess it took much out of him. We should give him a nice rest. Although I had a feeling Alisa would want to talk to me about what I've done to her father. Except that isn't her father. However, I doubt anything she understand. Well, have to be thing of something. Cause I rather not strain our friendship.

Me, Juna, and the others begin to check on Instructor Rean and Altina. He has been out for the entire day as Levi predicted. We begin to head to Instructor Rean's room. And there he is, awake at long last. And Altina was looking out for him.
"Instructor Rean?" Juna called out to him.
"Oh... Morning everyone. Sorry... Looks like I overslept a bit. And we have so much to talk about, too." Instructor Rean smiled
"Thank goodness!" Juna cheered as we approach him. "I was almost afraid you'd never wake up!"
"Y-You guys."
"She's not the only one. We've all been ill at ease." Kurt replied "Even after we managed to escape thanks to Levi, the moment we made it to Eryn, you were out nearly an entire day.
"We've all been taking turns waiting ever faithfully by your bedside. Old and new Class VII alike." Musse added "And I for one relish the opportunity to gaze longingly at your sweet, sleeping face... like a vision into my future."
"Really, Musse? I mean, really?" Juna sighed
"Heehee. She certainly doesn't hold back." I chuckled
"Hah. Floozies gonna flooze." Ash replied "Anyway, stop coding him, already. The guy's a grown-ass man."
"So you say, but you were just as eager as the rest of us to stand watch." Kurt remark
"Oh yeah. I thought for sure you'd just ditch, going on and on about how much you 'don't care.' " Juna smirked

"Let's not forget and I quote 'Hurry up and wake up, Instructor Rean.' Venti smirked
"L-Like hell I did!" Ash exclaimed. "Quit making shit up, ya damn snitches!"
Instructor Rean chuckled "It's good to have you back with us, Ash. I wasn't sure if you were okay, let alone if I'd ever see you again. Class VII just wouldn't be the same without you."
"Well... What can I say? Shit happens. 'Sides, I wasn't the one chained up in a workshop. Compare to you, I've had it easy."
"Haha... I suppose so. And Musse... I know this puts you in a difficult spot, but either way... Thank you for coming back. You still have your own moves to play. I understand that. But for now, I'm glad you've decided to be here with us."
"As am I." Musse smiled. "Though frankly, even I'm not quite sure how it happened. I suppose I have no choice but to stay right at your side until I found out."

Juna sighed "There's she goes again"
"Some things never change, huh?" I asked
"Haha. But it wouldn't be the same without her." Kurt smiled
"As for you three, Juna... Kurt... Venti..." Instructor Rean turn to us. "It seems you spared no effort coming to my aid."
"Oh." Juna smiled
"Instructor..." Kurt paused
"Aww." I smiled
"Well, I mean, we kinda owed you, y'know?"Juna replied. "You've come to our rescue of times. It's only right we return the favor.
"If there's one thing you've taught us, it's to think and act for ourselves." Kurt added
"And having the opportunity to put those lessons into practice was an experience unlike any other." I wink.
"But even then, we owe the bulk of our success to the old Class VII, and everyone else had our backs."
"Still... Thank you all the same." Instructor Rean smiled
And then Altina begin to wake up.
"Allie?" Juna asked as Kurt chuckled.
"Looks who's awake." I smiled
"Rise and shine, sleepy bunny." Ash said
Altina rub her eyes and then she see us. "Why is everyone here?" Then she turn to Instructor Rean. "Oh..."
"Good morning, Altina." Instructor Rean smiled. "I can only imagine all the struggles and doubts you must've gone through... but you never stopped moving forward with everyone else. I'm proud of you. It's good to be back."
"Instructor Rean... I... I..." Altina then hug Instructor Rean while The rest of us are smiling.
"Oh, right." Kurt said. "Seems we're all forgetting the most important part."
"Maybe it's a little unfair for us to steal the first chance, but nevertheless... Shall we?" Musse suggest.
We all gather together and then

(Trails of Cold Steel III ost - Now, Things to Do)
It was late morning and we had heard that Rean had woken up. Both Class VIIs, Roselia and myself were in the large dining room, waiting for Rean to enter. We heard the door open, and in came Emma, Celine who was back in her cat form, and Rean who was now wearing a new outfit, it was all in black which matched his white hair and red eyes in a way.
"Morning, Rean." I greeted. "Nice outfit."
"Heh, thanks." Rean responded.
"The others from my village helped prepare it for you." Roselia said. "That old coat of yours was practically shredded to pieces."
"This new one even has enhancements woven into it that will help keep your mana under control." Emma added. "Grandmother, Vita, and Celine all helped out."
Celine nodded. "It won't sort everything out on its own, but you might as well keep it on. I'm not sure if the design will suit your tastes, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth."
"Seriously, it's great. I really appreciate all the work you must have put into it." Rean replied. "I doubt I can ever thank all of you enough."
"You are most welcome." Roselia respond.
"That's going to take some getting used to, but I think it'll work." Juna replied with a nervous smile.
"Heheh, yeah, it goes better with the new hair color." Alisa nodded.
And each and everyone one of my classmates commented on Rean's new clothes that match with his hair. I won't deny that it does. Seriously… he's smoking hot… wait… why did I just think that just now?
"Thanks again, everybody." Rean smiled. "I hate to put a downer on things, but there's something we need to be clear about. Although Levi is the only one who can banish the curse that's affected me. What will happen after is unclear. I'll stay the Sacrifice until the Great Twilight ends. I guess it's my destiny. All this was decided for me ever since I was little."
"Instructor..." Juna trailed off
"Damn..." Ash muttered
"But that doesn't mean you're going to give up, does it?" Jusis asked.
"No, of course not. I'm the one who started all this, so I have to see it through." Rean replied. "I'll keep moving forward and do what I believe is right up until the bitter end. This curse, my becoming an Awakener, the Rivalries. It may feel overwhelming sometimes, but I want to see how it all plays out."
"Well said." Laura said.
"I guess we need to look into what Crow told us about." Elliot added.
"Oh yeah, he told us to meet him and Duvalie at Bryonia Island, right?" I asked.
"Yes. The Gnomes previously used them for refining Zemurian Ore." Emma answered.
"During the civil war, several of them were spotted in the eastern regions of the Empire." Sara said.
Laura nodded. "There was even one nearby Legram."
"Our clan assisted them up until 900 years ago, right?" Celine asked.
"So I've heard. It was before my time, so I don't know as much as I would like." Roselia replied. "One of the duties of the wandering witches has been to monitor the shrines for any irregularities. They serve as more than simple refineries for Zemurian Ore."
"I see." Elliot said
"There have been reports of strange lights and other phenomena in the surrounding areas, too." Musse said.
"So we're all set for when we go to Bryonia Island?" I asked.
"Yeah, Crow's probably investigating it as we speak." Rean replied. "I want to get out there and find out what he knows as soon as possible. And speaking of what he knows. I also want you to tell us what you know about the Rivalries."
"Of course. And just so you know, we'll be coming along with you. Because like it or not, our fates have been intertwined. So we gotta see this through to the end together, you can't say no to me."
"Oh, I know. You're just as stubborn as I am."

"I still find it surprising that the two of your fates are somehow intertwined with each other." Alisa replied
"Honestly. I think we're both surprised about it. Right, Rean?"
"Yeah. I never imagine that we are somehow connected like this." Rean nodded. "And somehow… it makes me think… it's right."

"A little accurate if you ask me." Celine replied.
"But Venti does have a point." Rean replied. "I am someone who was chosen by this cruel fate. While Levi who powers that can banish evil. Yet we both bonded and walk the same path and search for a way to alter fate."
"Yeah. Almost like something made us be this way or something." I replied. "Waaait… there is something that did catch my attention… Actually. Let's hold that off for now. We can discuss about that AFTER we talk about the Rivalry with Crow."
The rest of them nodded in agreement.
"Ah, youth." Celine said.
"Seems like you all know Rean inside and out." Roselia added.
"Of course we do, we've known him ever since he told us so much." Alisa replied. "Rean, we're all of what Class VII is all about. We've been through countless battles up until now. You know what we're capable of."
"Even when you and the Sword of the End fell into the deepest darkness, we find a way to bring you back." Altina nodded "That place... It was so much like the darkness Millium and I were born into. After facing that, I do not fear anything."
"Heh, I'll get the Merkabah ready to depart." Gaius stated. "I'm still getting used to how it handles, but it's better to have some backup, right? Plus, we've set it up so we can take the Panzer Soldats too, not just Valimar."

"That will be a big help." Kurt added.

Our group meeting was over, and me, Rean and the new Class VII, and Cedric grouped up as everyone else left the room.
"Now that we know what to do, I'm ready to go back to being second in command." I said.
"Haha, well from what I heard, you did an incredible job leading the class." Rean replied. "Sorry to drag you all into this."
Kurt chuckled. "It's a little late for apologies."
"It's only natural for us to help out, since we owe you so much already." Juna said.
"We know this place fairly well by now." Altina said. "So feel free to ask if you need any assistance."
"And there's always the fairy spring if you want to take some time out to... unwind." Musse winked
"There she goes again." Ash replied
"Alfin wasn't joking about her personality." Cedric sighed
"In any case, we have a few minutes to prepare before we have to leave." I reminded. "I assume you want to go and thank everyone who helped you?"
"Yeah, it's the least I can do for now." Rean replied. "Let's go around the village for a while before we depart."
We agreed and made our way around the village with Rean thanking the people who helped him a lot.
"That reminds me, Levi. You've gotten stronger. I take it you done more special training?" Vita asked
"Special training?" Rean asked as he turn to me.
"Wait, are you sure you should reveal that Vita?" I asked.
"I don't see why not. You already completed all of it and we gain a lot thanks to you." Vita answered.

"So what's this about a secret training?" Juna asked.
"Since there is no reason to be secretive about it. I've been doing some special training to my power as well as secret task the Principle have me do. Vita is one of the mysterious clients."

"That's right." Vita answered. "His secret training was to test his strength. And he took down a big bad monster on his own and just one strike."
"One strike?!" Kurt look surprised.
"Well, Levi is our male powerhouse compared to Laura." Emma nervously laughed.
"So these tasks are a secret? Why a secret though?" Rean asked
"Yes. I'm curious to know too." Musse replied.
"Well, the principal said it was a personal aim a secret. My guess it would benefit for you as well Musse. It was away from whoever is pulling the strings behind all this. Therefore, it would be best to be mentally and physically prepared in advance."

"So what were these tasks you been doing for the principal?" Rean asked
"You'll be surprised. Aside from my strength. I have been doing some special training to increase my strength, skill, and power. And to learn to pilot Panzer Soldat."
"Wait… So that's how you got your own Soldats?"
"Yep. That's why the Goliath was overwritten and replaced with mine. While during the training with Kurt and the others. I saw Alberich's sphere watching us."
"Wait, really?" Juna asked.
"Yeah. But something must have harmed it. But if I had to guess. Alberich must have been very unhappy. My guess he must have done something to that Goliath that was originally supposed to be sent to the Branch Campus."
"Ah. Very clever. Because of your help. We were not only gaining something. But manage to thrash part of the Chancellor's plan." Ash replied.
"Indeed. Anything he and the Gnome's plan won't be any good. So it's a good thing we have many at our side thanks to Levi." Vita nodded

After we went over the whole village and talk to our allies, and soon we begin to head over to the Fairy Spring. We begin to take a nice hot spring break before we go.
"Gotta say, I never thought they'd have a hot spring here, of all places." Rean said. "Not so sure how I feel about indulging like this right before we leave, though."
"Well, you certainly seem to be enjoying it, from where we're sitting." Kurt replied.
"And your hometown is a hot spring paradise. I thought you would feel more relax." Cedric added.
"Yeah. Besides, I thought you like it, considering how much of a hot spring lover you are." I said with a joke.
"Let's not forget that you end up engulf with the topic when it comes to Hot Springs." Venti smirked
"You couldn't be soaking it in any harder if you were a sponge." Ash replied.
Juna sighed. "I'm still not over this whole mixed bathing thing."
"The coverage of these towels is near-identical to that of a swimsuit." Altina said.
"Besides, Instructor Rean is a Hot Spring Paradise local. I imagine one may find him a bit more… immune than most." Musse replied. "But if, say, an unfortunate 'accident' were to occur, with maybe a bit of skin-to-skin for good measure…"

Goof grief. Musse has corrupted Altina now.
"My, my, and I thought I was a hot spring fanatic." Aurelia said as she, Renne, and KeA decided to join.
"Ah hello Principal, Renne, and KeA, you decided to join us for a relaxation?" I asked.
"Yup!" KeA nodded. "We wanted to go in one last time!"
"We've been o some fun places, yes, but certainly none so nice as these springs." Renne answered.
"I must have been here a goof half-dozen times since yesterday myself." Aurelia replied. "It could easily have hit double figures, had you awoken a little later."
"Haha. Can't say I blame you." Rean said.
And then as soon as the three join in. Rean and Principle Aurelia begin to have a nice conversation about the Hot Spring.
"And there they go." I nervous smile.
"W-Well… Good to see they don't mind baring themselves." Juna replied.
"Hah Unlike you chicks, the Rakshasa's actually got somethin' to bare." Ash smirked

"I concur. I estimate the both of you still have two a two-year grace period before we can properly judge." Altina replied.
'Oh, dear. I think I understand where Olivert gets his title as the Debaucherous Prince.' Cedric light blushed after the girls are talking about their chests.

After getting out, we begin to enjoy some coffee, milk, and fruit milk courtesy of the Inn. We end up hanging out a bit longer before parting ways.
We were ready to depart. We said our farewells to the other people who were going to do their part, and we got on the Merkabah ship. We were on our way to Bryonia Island, and with Valimar and the soldats in tow.
"I have to say, Gaius. You look pretty cool as the captain." I complimented.
"Heh, glad you think so." Gaius replied.
"Phew, this is unbelievable." Sara said.
"Almost feels like we're cheating the system." Fie added.
"Well, considering how many times our foes have cheated, I think this is a fair game." I winked. "And besides, we finally have a means of transport that we can use at anytime."
"So this Merkabah, it's used as a special operations craft by the Gralsritter's Dominions?" Jusis asked.
"Yes. I inherited it from Father Barkhorn, along with my stigma." Gaius answered. "I had some adjustments made in the Holy City to help better attune the two together."
"The Holy City of Arteria. Home to the High Seat of the Spetian Church." Altina said.
"I get the feeling a certain foundation's been providing some assistance with the equipment here on the bridge too, right?" Alisa asked.
Rosine hummed. "I'm afraid we're unavaliable for comment on that one."

"In any case, how long we'll have to wait until we reach Bryonia Island?" I asked.
"We'll have to take a small detour, but we should at Bryonia Island in around an hour. I know this ship isn't the roomiest, but feel free to make it your own until our arrival."

I flinched and turn around as he jump in shock.
"Wah!" I then see Rean.

After a bit of time had passed, there was an announcement around the ship that Bryonia Island was now in view from the ship's bridge.

"Yep. We're almost there." I pointed. "It felt like a while ago since we were last there."

"Ah, yes. This was where Group B conducted their studies, correct?" Jusis asked
"And Group A was over in the Nord Highlands." Elliot said.
Yeah. It felt so long since we were in Nord Highland. Visiting Gaius's home. Helping out. Stopping the damage of the civil war. I'm still jealous of everyone. Each of them has family. As for Ash. I guess he's fine being a single child. But he has family within Raquel. As for Venti. He and I are somewhat connected. And in the same boat.

Soon, the airship landed on the beachside, along with the Valimar and the soldats. We all then got off, ready to head on over to the Sol Shrine.
"All right, Rosine, we'll leave the Merkabah to you." Gaius said. "If the navy or the air force show up, pull out and get some distance between you."
"Very well." Rosine replied. "The Divine Knights and Panzer Soldats are ready to ship out anytime. Don't hesitate to call on me."
"Thanks, I appreciate it." Rean said. "I'll probably have to summon Valimar myself, though."
"It all depends on the result of this Rivalry." Jusis added.
"All right. It sounds like you all know what you're doing." Rosine smiled. "Be careful out there."
"Right." Alisa nodded. "We'd better get going."
"This is the first time I've been here. Do you guys know the way to the shrine?" Celine asked.
Kurt nodded. "Yes. We only need to follow that path."
"Then just before we reach the waterfall, we head southwest." Musse said.
"And there's also a wharf where we can use to rest up, just in case we get into any monster trouble along the way." I reminded.
"I think I remember the place you're talking about." Machias said.
"Yeah, there was some kind of alter around there." Elliot added
"It wasn't a full-blown shrine, however. It must have appeared after the civil war." Laura stated
Rean nodded "Yeah, it's probably still there. I just hope Crow's waiting there for us." Rean said.
"Right." Fie nodded
"We've got a real big group this time around, huh?" Sara chuckled. "How about we get going?"
"Be careful, everyone. We're talking about something created by the Gnomes and the witches over a thousand years ago." Emma advised
"Crow was there last time, let's hope he's still there! To the Sol Shrine!" Juna declared.
We left the beach and made our way across the pathway. But there are some monsters so this is good practice for Rean to check how he's doing. Once we defeated them. We also check on the status of his clothes.
"I think I'm getting the hang of this." Rean replied as he look at his clothes.
"I'd say so." Laura smiled. "You're doing well, Rean."
"The Sbb and flow of mana seems to have stabilized now." Emma added.
"That's good to hear." Altina sigh of relief.
"I'm glad that we got that situation under control." I replied.
"Let's kep it up. This is definitely good training." Instructor Sara nodded.
We continue the passing by the large waterfall and there is one of those monsters blocking our way.
"These monsters are organized." Altina said. "They won't be letting us through without a fight."
"Talk about a pain in the neck though." Venti sighed.
"This won't be easy, but we can't afford to give up now!" Juna stated.
"If we work together, we can break through their ranks in no time!" Alisa nodded.
Then Rean draw his Tachi.
"I'm not so sure about that…" Rean said.
"What do you me-" Cedric asked. And the more of those powerful monsters appeared. "am… Ah, so that's what you meant." And he sweatdrop.
"Yes, their numbers are far more than we can handle at present." Laura replied.
"If anything, it looks like they're starting to push us back." Fie replied.
"Thanks to the Great Twilight. All the monsters in Erebonia has power up greatly." I replied. "But this is good training regardless."
"Guys, I know you're not going to like this, but hear me out." Rean said and got our attention. "Let me release my power as a Sacrifice to deal with these things."
"What?" Emma respond as the rest of us are surprised. "You can' be serious!"
"I didn't think you'd be desperate enough to suggest that again." Celine sighed.
"Rean…" Sara trailed off.
"Didn't you learn your lesson already?" Ash asked. "Moron…"
"Look, I realize it's risky, but look at the situation we're in." Rean stated. "Against numbers like this, it won't be enough to keep my power focused and controlled. But if I unleash my powers, that might give us a chance. At this rate, even if I try to hold it back, the backlash could still be enough to consume me."
"In that case, leave that part to me." I said as I turn to Rean.
I open my hand and channel my power into a golden orb and then launched it into Rean's black attire and Rean's attire glow for a bit and then fade.
"That should do it."
"What did you do exactly?" Emma asked.
"I added a small fraction of my power into those enchantments within that attire. While it buffs the enchantments. He can use his powers at anytime. While the enchantment will keep the mana under control. My power can repel the backlash. So you don't have to worry about losing control of yourself. Even if the Mana is overwhelming."
"Oh that's right." Celine replied. "Your power can repel the Curse."
"Thank you, Levi. This will help a lot!" Rean smiled.
"No need to thank me. Besides, I had a feeling you are going to unleash your power someday. Since you're just as stubborn as I am. I or rather we know you well enough that you will ask us to help you out if you lose control of yourself. With us by your side, you won't lose control. So do what you got to do."
Then everyone nodded and smiled.
"You guys… Haha. I can't hide anything from you, can I?"
"Obviously not." I wink.
"Thank you. All of you. And thank you Levi for repelling the backslash. Now, let's get rid of these monsters and move forward. Everyone, follow me!"
And Class Vll and Cedric draw out our weapons.
"Right!"
We charge into battle and then Rean unleashed his power and we begin to deal with the monsters. Because of Rean's power. We defeated the monsters. And After that battle. It seems my power work well as I hope.
"Phew. Looks like it was no problem at all." Rean said.
"Yeah. And my power work well, too." I nodded.
"Yeah, seriously… I owe you a lot, Levi. Honestly. I don't know what I do without you and everyone else. I'm sorry I'm such a burden."
"Oh come on already."
"He's right. Please don't worry about us." Kurt nodded.
"Yeah, it's nothing compared to what you're dealing with." Juna nodded.
"Yeah. I should be able to use my powers without too many problems." Rean smiled.
We continue our adventure and reaching the dock where the lounge was, and there was no one guarding it. Looks like we were in the clear for the time being. After resting up in the lounge, we made our way to the Sol Shrine.
"Whoa, you'd think it had always been here." Fie said.
"It was just a tiny roadside alter two years ago." Elliot recalled.
"Yeah, and it never would've shown up either if we hadn't run around the island and activated all those crest-looking things." Juna nodded.
"And it's thanks to the pendant you lovely made for Instructor Rean, Emma." Musse gigged.
"Oh, well… I'm glad to hear that, heehee." Emma nervously laughed.
"From what I hear, Rose paid you a visit, didn't she?" Celine asked.
"Yeah, but only Rean and I were able to notice her." I replied. "Everyone else in our group was frozen in time."
"Not to mention, Millium was held captive in the area just up ahead." Jusis recalled.
"That is most likely the place we want." Altina replied.
"Are you prepared, Instructor? I doubt we'll be of much use, but we'll support you however we can." Kurt said.
"Yeah, if we had enough time, I'd love to give him a piece of my mind." Machias added. "But now's not the time. You'll have to take the lead."
"Though I may be inclined to challenge Duvalie to a duel should she be present…" Laura said.
"Go settle the score. You've got this." Ash encouraged.
"Thanks, everyone." Rean replied. "To tell you the truth, I don't know how this is going to end. But I know I want you here with me, whatever happens."
"Oh, we're not going anywhere, Rean. Count on it." Alisa nodded
"It is time to show the world what you have to offer, Instructor." Altina said.

We went inside, and the feeling was different from the last time we were here.
"L-Look!" Altina called out as we move forward.
"It looks completely different from how it was two months ago." Rean recalled.
"Yeah. It was just ruins… but now glowing crest everywhere." I recalled.
"Really?" Juna asked
"That's right, the spirit veins have been activated." Gaius nodded.
"It likely has something to do with the Rivalries." Emma added
The Rivalry of the Seven…
"Well, only way to find out is to keep going." Celine replied.
After making our day down the stairs, we reached the familiar big area where Crow, his Divine Knight Ordine, and Duvalie were waiting.
"So you've come." Duvalie said.
"Yo, you guys showed up a lot faster than I expected." Crow added. "Not fast enough though. Time's not really on our side here."
"Crow…" Elliot trailed off.
"You're here after all." Laura said to Duvalie.
"Well, you made it pretty clear that we didn't have a choice in the matter." Rean replied. "That said, it's good to see you again. You too, Duvalie. Thanks for taking the time to meet with us"
"Wh-what's with the casual hello? We are not friends. Your thanks is nothing more than a pittance to me." Duvalie responded. "Personally, I'd rather not have to see this sordid scene play itself out. But this is the path I've chosen."
"Sordid scene?" Kurt repeated.
"What does she mean by that?" Fie asked.
"It's to do with the Rivalries, right?" Venti guessed. "In which case, what are they in detail?"
"Getting right to the point." Crow said. "Although I'm surprised Levi didn't tell you guys."
"Well a lot happen and we were waiting for Rean to rest up." I replied. "Plus it would be a good idea to talk this with you as well since you know little what I know."
"Perhaps you're right. Sure, I'll tell you everything I know about the Rivalries."
"Already? No warm-up monologue or anything?" Juna asked.
I frowned at her. "Umm, Honestly, I don't know how to respond to that."
"I'm just glad we're able to get straight to the heart of the matter for once." Jusis said.
"All right then. I'm all ears." Rean said. "Tell me what you know. About this...tension within me. Within us. I feel it in the air. In the world itself. I feel my heart racing, steeling itself for some inevitable clash it awaits."
"Come to think of it… I felt that as well…" Cedric replied.
"The world itself?" Machias asked
"I see...so that's how it is." Musse said quietly.
"Heh, looks like the little lady's got it all figured out." Crow replied. "Of course Levi knows about it. I get the feeling that, Gaius, Bard boy, Sara, Emma and Miss Kitty over there are on the right track, too. Simply put, the Rivalries are a struggle for power. Deathmatches between Divine Knights, as the world is driven to the brink of annihilation."

"A fight to the death?!" Cedric exclaimed. "Wait… didn't you and Rean fought back in the Infernal castle as I recall?"
"Yes. However that was a Preudo-Rivalry." I said. "If it were a real Rivalry, it would be a power struggle battle. And whoever wins will have a better chance to become the Great One. What we all saw back at the Infernal Castle, and all those experiments we put a stop to this year, it was all for the Rivalry purposes. Ouroboros was trying to artificially reproduce them, am I right?"
"Yes. I was never privy to the particulars, but they were seeking to awaken the tremendous power brought fourth by the fusion of the two Sept-Terrions." Duvalie said. "The experiments were a means to an end, a bid to turn melees into miracles."
"That more or less covers it." Crow added. "Vits's been searching for a way to keep the curse in check. The curse of the Great One, the catalyst of the Great Twilight that ushers in the end of the world. All those clashes between the Divine Knights in the past have been just dress rehearsals at best. As orbal technology advanced, the day soon came when humanity's weapons, were powerful enough to conceivably cause the end of the world. And with that, the conditions to begin the Rivalry of the Seven were met."
"You can't be serious." Machias said. "So it's not that the Rivalries are the cause of the world ending."
"It's that the Rivalries can only occur as the world's being ravage by war." Kurt said.
"Then perhaps, it'd help to see the world as a sort of crucible." Gaius said. "The Great Twilight is the kindling, and the war, the bellows that stoke its infernal flame. The further the extent of its strife, the hotter the blaze. As the crucible drowns in fire, the Seven who were once One, begin their battle within. From there, they fight to the death, melting into each other amongst the flames, one by one. Until finally, the Seven are reforged into a whole once more."
"C-Come again?" Juna asked.
"It's somewhat akin to the practices of the alchemists of old, distilling materials into their purest form." Emma explained.
"It sounds more to me like a survival of the fittest. A battle royale with one, singular victor." Jusis said.
"It's both." Musse added. "But on a far larger, far more primal scale than anything we've ever known."
"Well, shit..." Ash muttered.
"Well, if both Osborne and the Grandmaster thinks this is how it's all gonna play out, my powers can counter it."
"Oh yeah, we all saw that light show you performed. That giant bird and that elephant warrior thing. I got to admit, that was way cooler than I thought." Crow said. "So what's the answer to it all?"
"If I want to end the curse, save the world at the same time. I must destroy the very being who created it. The Ebon Knight."
"The Ebon Knight?" Rean asked
"You mean the Divine Knight the Chancellor wields?" Kurt asked
"Ah. The Gnomes boss." Crow replied.
I sighed. "Yeah, pretty much. But that task will be difficult since now he will have his guard up. Due to my power. I'm considered to be a huge threat to Osborne, the Gnomes, and the Ebon Knight. My power can repel evil. Due to my special training. I can repel the curse that has plague Erebonia easily now. I can only weaken the curse and keep it at bay for now. Until I destroy the Ebon Knight. Erebonia will be long last be free. And the Rivalry will be quelled with it. Perhaps that's why Ouroboros intended to seek me out back then."
"Yes, that would make sense." Duvalie nodded. "The power you hold to repel evil. And according to my lord, your power is not recorded in history. Not even the Hexen Clan, the Gnomes, the church, or anyone for that matter. Even the Grandmaster is not aware of it until the Grandmaster sense it a few years back. The Grandmaster has no knowledge of your power. Almost it's like your power was recently been created."
"Recently…" I close my eyes and I look at my hand. "You might be right. If that is the case, it just raised further questions about my existence. Not only that. I can also sync with a Divine Knight too. Allowing them to use my power. So my existence is somewhat connected with the Divine Knights. Like I'm a special asset. But for whatever purpose. I do not know. But I intend to find out."
"I see now. What will happen if you use your power now all over Erebonia?" Crow asked.
"Like I said. I will keep the curse in check, and everyone will be back to normal for the time being. I don't know how long though. Perhaps... 60 years or more."
"What!?" Rean eye widen.
"But if you do that... won't you exhaust yourself and be in hunger?" Alisa asked
"Well, I can't deny that." I sighed. "However, there is a way I can keep it on hold for eternity. However, it is something all of you won't like. By sealing myself into a crystal and sleep. Where no one can find me. My power can forever hold the curse as it never existed. It also means I will never interact with the world again."
As expected, everyone was speechless of that.
"I see." Crow said as he close his eyes. "And what happens without the sealing away in the crystal?"
"Well Osborne, Ouroboros, or any of our enemies will be after me. Perhaps the same way they did with Rean. Lock me up, preventing me to use my powers. Or worst, kill me."
"No, I can't let you do that." Rean said as he hold on my shoulder. "I'm sure everyone will agree that there's no way we're going to let you seal yourself away from the rest of the world. There's no way we'll let you do this! You said the other way is to destroy the Ebon Knight, right?"
"Yeah. That is the other way to destroy it completely." I answered. "But in order to do that. I need to confront it. But if I use my full power and force my way there. It would be quite the pandemonium. Espcually if I have to deal with Mcburn and Liam. I can't afford to be reckless. So the only option to see this through is with the Rivalry."
"Then, in that case, we really shouldn't be wasting much time." Crow replied. "Now Rean, you know exactly what it is we have to do. We can feel it in our bones." He then got out his saber.
"So you mean..." Altina paused
"You're starting the Rivalry right here? Right now?!" Elliot asked.
"I'm no Vita, but I know a prime opportunity when I see one. The war hasn't started yet. Maybe if we get a jump on this, we can derail the Gnomes' plans. But, the second the Empire launches its attack on the Republic..."
"...as the sacrifice, I'd be forced to engage in the Rivalries. Whether I like it or not." Rean finished. "That's all there is to it. Right?
"Rean..." Alisa said quietly.
"The curse would take over..." Laura trailed off.
"Heh, nail on the head." Crow replied. "You'd either go berserk, or your memories would get sealed away, turning you into mindless puppets. The only one who can prevent you from being a mindless puppet, is Levi himself."
Rean drew out his sword. "Then now may be the last chance I have. Before my memories are snatched away. Before I'm forced to duel to the death, devoid of all sense and reason. I can still see this rivalry through with my own eyes. Triumph or fail by my own merit."

Rean pointed his Tachi at Crow. "I stand before you Crow. As a swordsman of the Eight Leaves, and a member of Class Vll. Even if it's the last thing I ever do, I'll do so as myself: Rean Schwarzer."
"And for the sake of everyone... no... the entire world, we'll put a stop to the Gnome's plans." I added as I got my glaive out. "And destroy the Ebon Knight."
"Hah, there you go." Crow replied.
"Before we begin, the stage must be set, as with the Infernal Castle, and Ouroboros's experiments." Duvalie said as she draw her sword and shield. "Appoint two allies to assist you. Only then shall we take you on."
Rean and I nodded, We had Venti and Altina to join us and our battle begins.
Duvalie and Crow perform the Radiant star formation and then they link up just as we had.
"So she can do it even without the Stalritter." Sara muttered
"The Radiant Star formation." Laura replied.
"Huh. Guess this is as good a stage as we're gonna get." Crow smirked. "We don't quite meet the full requirement, but hey. A passing grade's a passing grade. All right then! This'll be our last dance Rean. I saved it just for this moment… just for you- in the throes of the fading twilight!"
"Lovely speech Crow." I replied. "You show us your resolve. But now we will fight with our resolve!"
"We're ready… Let's do this guys!" Rean shout.
"Right!" Me, Altina and Venti shout.
Then we begin to start the battle. Me and Rean link up as Altina and Venti link up. Crow launch his attack while Duvalie did hers as well while we dodge. Venti cast his Wind chain craft on us. Then I use my Elemental burst on them. Then Rean use his crafts on them. Then Altina use her craft on them. Duvalie use her craft on us. Then Crow launches his craft onto us as well. Then Venti uses his crafts on them and strike them. Then Altina combat link attack Crow. Then Rean and I did a combo craft on them and then we strike with speed and strength while Crow shooting bullets at us. And Duvalie with her speed. Then Duvalie combat-like strike me. Then Altina healed us. Then Venti cast arts and unleashed it onto the duo. I use arts as well and then strike at them. Rean then use his hexil on them.
We held our own successfully against their attacks, and the flow of aura was around us.

"This glow..." I said as I look at it.
"The stage is set. The preparation are complete." Emma said.
"This is as much as we can help." Duvalie panted. "The rest is up to you two."
Crow nodded. "Right. We're up, Ordine!"
"Understood, Crow!" Ordine replied.
Duvalie stood far away as Ordine entered the fray.
"Valimar! Heed my call!" Rean ordered.
Valimar then appeared and both Rean and Crow went into their Divine Knights, ready to duel.
"Instructor Rean, Millium..." Altina said.
"They'll be all right." I assured. "Rean has us to support him, always."
"Short stack...still glowing red, huh?" Crow asked. "But whatever. That sword ain't that much stronger than one made out of Zemurian Ore. Don't hold back, Rean. Come at me with all you've got!" Rean said nothing which means something is on his mind. "Hey… You in there or what?"
"Crow...if the Rivalries are a battle between Divine Knights, then what about the Awakeners?" Rean asked. "Since I'm also a Sacrifice, I don't know what will happen to me, but you're only being kept alive as an Awakener by the curse. So what'll happen if you, an immortal, were to lose?"
"Ah..." I look in sadness. "Because he's an immortal, he would-"
"Don't finish that sentence Levi." Crow replied. "Gonna have to call you out for actin' like you already won, though. You gotta kick things off first. So come on, you better be ready for this, Rean! The world's about to crumble right under your feet. So QUIT SCREWING AROUND. Your pathetic opponent's already dead, So put him outta his damn misery!"
"Fine. But let me make just one thing clear to you." Rean said. "You're not pathetic. You're our friend. A fellow member of Class VII. A rival whose shadow I've long struggled to emerge from. That's all I have to say. Now let's settle this!"
"Heh, fine by me! Show me what you've got, Rean!"
They charged at each other to begin the first Rivalry battle.
They launched powerful clash at each other, striking one by one. reacting the battle just like how it was in the Infernal Castle. Both side launch some powerful clashes and follow up. As we support Rean and watch. Soon they both unleash their mighty attacks. Enlighten Domination and then Deadly Cross. Both power up and then perform one of his Eight Leaves techniques. Soon the battle begin to turn favor to his side. Morning Moon I think. Then launched another Elighten Domination onto him. Then both launched their strongest attacks onto each other. Then Rean launched the first attack and slice through Crow. Ordine's Duel saber was toss and landed nearby. And Ordine fell on his knees. Rean came out with the hard-fought victory.
"Rean did it." I said.
"It's over." Duvalie muttered.
"Does this mean the Rivalry is complete?" Kurt asked.
"Yeah. Looks like our little improv routine did the trick." Crow answered.

Ordine then started glowing and Crow came out, he was starting to become transparent. We rushed over to him.
"Just like Master said. Because you're an immortal, you can't be on the same plain as the mortals." I sighed. "Rutger and Lianne will end up the same way..."
"Yeah, that's all there is to it." Crow replied as little orbs flew out of Ordine and into Valimar. "And here's your answer. Ordine's power is Valimar's now. And with it, whatever it was that kept me alive. Each successive Rivalry...will lead you to...the root of this curse."
Seeing him go out like this brought back memories of when we lost him at the Infernal Castle, it was like history repeating itself. Nothing they can do to change that.
"Not another word. You must conserve your strength!" Laura stated
"Celine, help me! We can't leave him like this!" Emma exclaimed
"I'm with you!" Celine nodded
Emma and Celine rush over and use their magic to heal him but it's pointless. I wanted to say it. But I can't.
"Hah. Y'think I'd be used to this by now. Guess karma really is a bitch." Crow sighed. "At least this time... our power can live on through you. Sorry for making you guys go through this... a second time. Long as Rean's got you guys on his side... I know he'll be all right. Just... do me a solid and bring Gelica back to her senses for me... 'kay?
"Like hell! You've played enough hooky for lifetimes as it is!" Sara remark
"And what about Towa? Or George? They deserve that closure, just much as you!" Gaius added
With that traitor? Hell no.
"You guys managed to bring Rean back from the brink... That's no small feat. Even with Levi's powers." Crow replied before turning to me and the students. "Guys's a real drama queen, though, take it from me. Second he starts acting all spoiled and mopey... you pull him right back out... 'kay?"
"S-Stop talking like that! You can't just give up!" Juna sadden.
"Don't you understand how much you mean to him?!" Kurt added
"You're the only one acting spoiled here, Crow." Rean came out of Valimar and went up to Crow, he then grabbed him up on his feet. "Pull yourself together, Crow Armbrust! This world is about to crumble, not just beneath my feet, but yours as well! Are you really just going to take the easy way out? Now, of all times?!"
Suddenly, the orbs that were going into Valimar started going out and back into Ordine.
"Wh-What the...how are you?" Crow asked in surprise.
"Is he...?" I added with a surprised look on my face.
"...stopped absorbing Ordine's power?" Emma guessed.
"That's not it. He's reversing the flow." Celine corrected.
"Inconceivable." Duvalie trailed off.
"Screw the Rivalry. I won't do this to you! I won't be responsible for your death!" Rean said. "You're going to live, damn it! You hear me?! You're going to fight and struggle and survive, no matter what it takes! I won't let you off the hook that easily! You've got a ton of interest to pay back!"
The transparency was no longer glowing around Ordine and Crow.
"Something's happening between them." I hummed. "Is this some kind of...contract bonding?"
"Come back to us, Crow!" Rean exclaimed as he hugged him. "I need you...We ALL need you!"
"Exactamundo! We're not quitters! Right, Crow?!"
Huh? That was Millium's voice from the sword. Now that I think about it. I did felt a tiny yet familiar presence somewhere. Once the moment was over, both Crow and Rean fainted at the same time, and Crow's body was whole again.
"Looks like they exhausted each other out." I said before turning to the Sword of the End. I walk over and touch it. I feel Millium presence clearly now as I touch the sword "I feel it... I felt Millium's presence. She's still with us!"
"What?!" Jusis eye widen and everyone turn to me. "Are you certain?!"
"Yeah. There is no doubt about it." I look at Valimar. "I sense Millium's presence within the sword. It's very faint. But she's still alive. I think… I need to examine Valimar… if what I think it's possible… then maybe…" I close my eyes and then touch Valimar as I glow with a golden aura. I examine Valimar and the sword. Millium's presence is there… and… I see so many chains that binds Valimar… I think I can break them. I let go. "Yeah. I might be able to… ah. I'll explain when Rean wakes up."
"Yeah, we need to get Rean and Crow away from here." Sara agreed.
With our help, we carried Rean and Crow all the way out of the Shrine and down to the lounge where they rested for a few hours before Crow woke up first, and then Rean who finally got up.

"Oh...I remember this place." Rean said.
"I hope so, this is the lodge we visited before, after all." I added. "You exhausted yourself. So we brought you here to rest."
