Sequel to Trails of Cold Steel III - Year of 1206. The Great Twilight has been brought forth to bring the end of the world. However, Levi vow to deliver judgment to Osborne, Alberich, The Ironbloods, George and Ouroboros, and find a way to destroy the Curse of Erebonia and the Ebon Knight Ishmelga. Together with Rean, Class VII, and their allies to put a stop to this.

12. Rescue Elise and Tio

Dateline, August 24th, 1206.

(Trails of Azure ost - Heavenly Chariot)

Thank goodness that we managed to rescue Alfin and Tita. Still, it was a hollow victory to me. The 4th Armored Divison is now placed in the front line due to not 'protecting' Alfin. I swear Osborne just loves to piss people off. Still, I won't forget the sacrifice Olaf and Neithhardt made. We better find a way to stop the war soon and fast. Tita will be working at the Orbal shop as Agate will watch over her. And Alfin and Cedric reunited with a sibling hug. Alfin will also do her part to help us. She change into her St. Astraria uniform. And those IDF scum didn't follow us since we have a good group of teams with us now.

"Looks like the staff problem's been taken care of." Rean said.

"Yes. But our situation hasn't changed." Laura added. "In fact, it's only gotten worse."

"Indeed. And it isn't just the military whose minds are being polluted. It's spreading among the civilians as well." Alfin replied. "As a result, more and more conscriptees are being deployed to the front lines. I expect my own disappearance won't be made public for the time being."

"To divert everyone's focus toward the war, right?" Emma asked

"If the people found out their princess had vanished without a trace, it'd only serve to distract them" Machias nodded

"Things will only esculate if Dad and his troops are thrown into the mix." Elliot stated

"Leading ultimately to Operation Jormungandr- spearheaded by my brother and General Vandyck." Jusis added

"I won't forget the sacrifice the 4th Armored Division has done for us. Let's hope we can find a way to stop this war." I said. "So then Musse, how is Mille Mirage coming along?"

"Its arrangements have been progressing steadily with every mission we complete." Musse replied. "Securing the release of Tita and Her Highness was one of its key aims, in fact."

"Huh? M-Me, too?" Tita asked

"Holding a Liberlian citizen hostage would make for a pretty effective check against the Kingdom." Alisa said.

"Yeah, that kinda a low blow move." Millium nodded

"But what does that have to do with this counteroperation of yours?" Kurt asked.

"Enough with this putting on air!" Duvalie exclaimed. "Out with it already!"

"Now, now...all will be revealed in due time." Musse answered. "We have our objectives to prioritize at the moment."

"Yeah, we still need to find a way to get to Leeves." I reminded. "And if it's like the last two missions, I'm willing to bet that Elise and Tio are there as well."

"Rean's sister, huh?" Crow asked "Can't imagine he'd let that stand."

"You'd think she would've stuck with the princess." Celine replied

"Alas. We were separated when they seized us at St. Astraia." Alfin sighed.

"Let's hope for anyone who smart enough to not treat Elise harshly. Otherwise, they'll be dead." I replied as I pointed out since Rean has a sister complex.

"We're going to find her. No matter what it takes." Rean said. "And continuing our patrols is the way to do so."

We looked at the computer to check the requests for today, and there was one that stood out.

"Phantom Thief B?!" Machias asked in surprise.

"He did help us back in Crossbell, but..." Kurt paused.

"This is an Enforcer we're talking about here." Rean said. "Still, it does feel a little odd."

"Yeah, something doesn't feel right about this one… wait… a minute… this name… Lady Rimabella? Hmm…" Something if off with this name… Ooohhh… "Hey Rean, mind if I tag along on this quest?"

"Sure. I don't mind." Rean replied.

"The other request is from Celestin." Jusis noticed. "Best we check them out sooner rather than later."

"By the way, Instructor. It's my turn to be your escort this time around." Musse said "Just thw two of us, along with nothing for company but our racing hearts."

"And four other people." Juna remark

Alfin sighed. "If only I'd brought my staff with me."

"Ah, speaking of which, whatever happened to that staff?" Cedric asked.

"Alas. I did not have it with me when the whole ordeal started. I could've done my part in bringing justice to the world."

"You'd better watch yourself out there, Rean. And I mean REALLY. Watch yourself." Alisa said with a slight glare.

I couldn't help but hold in my laugh because Rean's knack for trouble for woman is endless.

"Aaaaanyway, I'll be on board for the time being, so feel free to give me a holler if you need a hand." Agate said.

"The same goes for me! I'll help however I can!" Tita added.

(Venti's Bond 1)

(Venti's pov)

After the team begin to split. I begin to head to the restroom. I begin to wash my face and then consider I need to get stronger with my powers too. Once I exit the restroom. I bump into my Instructor.

"Oh, Instructor." I said

"Hey there Venti. Just got out?" Instructor Rean asked

"Sure did. Please excuse me Instructor."

And then I begin to head off. I begin to head towards the vending machines are and once no one was there. I begin to teleport away.

I teleported at the Hamel Road near Hamel. There I begin to summon monsters and help me with my training and my powers. And so I begin to shoot arrows as the monsters charge at me. And then I begin to use my powers and blast the monsters into the air and then launched many arrows as I can. And then summon more monsters as I begin to shoot arrows at them. Using my powers, I begin to launch some strong wind attacks onto them. And once part where I begin to use the wind as a shield. As I launched into the air, I launch many powerful rain of wind arrows onto them. Once that was done. Hmm, I still need a little bit more.

Until suddenly I felt a powerful presence and then a Magic Knight appeared. It's a Azura-Luciel. It roared as it appeared. I then begin to confront it as we clash into battle. I shoot arrows from the distance and then it launched it's strike and I dodge and then launched some powerful wind attacks on it. The Magic Knight roared as it continue to put up a good fight. I begin to launch swirl myself with a green aura. I pulls back my right arm with an open palm, generates a large bow made of wind, and creates six large arrows that are fired at Magic Knight. The Magic Knight launched an earth Pillar at me as I backflip and launch seven wind arrows at it and then I generate a tornado near the Magic Knight. It pushes the Magic Knight back as I manifest dozen of blades composed of solid wind and launch at the Magic Knight. The Magic Knight took some heavy damage and then it roared and charged at me and then launched a counter-attack and launch some jab attacks but I dodge.

"Venti!" I heard my Instuctor's voice as I turn and see him.

"Instructor?! How did you-"

But I got interrupted and then see the Magic Knight Roared and then charge at me. But then I begin to to create a large, horizontal tornado which drill through the Magic Knight. The Magic Knight explode into purple light.

"Phew... That's one workout." I panted.

And then Instructor Rean rush towards me. "Venti, are you okay?!"

"Yes, i'm perfectly fine. But how on earth did you managed to find me?" I asked

"I ask Levi to use his search magic."

"Ah, that explains it."

But then Instructor Rean place his hands on his hip and look mad.

"I'm guessing you're angry, aren't you?" I nervous smile.

"Of course I'm angry!" Instructor Rean replied. "How could you suddenly disappeared like that!? Do you have any idea how much worried you gave all of us?!"

"I..." And now I feel guilty... but...

"Venti, as your Instructor, I cannot overlook this. Why did you suddenly disappeared like this?"

I sighed. "Because I wanted to grow stronger too you know."

"Instructor? Do you remember my gift back at the Summer Festival?" I asked

"Gift? Ah that's right. I remember that? What was that?" Instructor Rean asked

"My gift to you. The primordial wind." I answered

"The primordial wind?"

"The very essence of the wind itself. You should notice by now that your senses are sharper than it's usually right?"

"Come to think of it. I did notice my Unclouded eye has gotten more insight and my sense gotten sharper suddenly..."

"That was my gift to you as thanks for being my Instructor. It increases your self-awareness and allows you to move more quickly. Because of my gift to you, your unclouded eye and movement had slowly started to become once with you as you train. That's how special that gift is to you. Of how much you meant to me. I have been training myself to test my powers and my skills. Ever since our battles, my powers has gotten stronger along with my body and soul. I wanted to see how much. It's not as strong as Levi but it was more than enough to blow away our strong foes at least. Still, the reason why i'm out here alone and didn't tell you is that I wanted to help you overcome this. You know full well you already suffer enough because of this curse and your father. I wanted to help push my limit so I can help you overcome this. Is that so wrong of me?"

Instructor Rean close his eyes and sighed.

"Venti, I'm happy that you're pushing yourself for my sake. I really do. The gift you bestow onto me is something I will forever hold." Instructor Rean smiled. "It's not wrong that you're trying so hard for my sake. However, as your Instructor, I want to make sure you're okay and nothing bad happens to you. If you want to test your powers and training, then next time, please come to me or any of our friends and allies. You made everyone worried when you disappeared. Including me. I'm just glad to see you're all right. Just never disappear like that."

"Instructor..." I honestly trailed off. "I suppose I have brought it upon myself. It was thoughtless of me I guess. In honestly. I have been training in secret. Old habit I guess."

"I suppose. Come on, the others are waiting for us. And when we get back, we're gonna discuss your punishment."

"Huh!? Aww come on Instructor!" I exclaimed

(Liam's pov)

I was watching the distance as I see Rean and Venti's bond event.

"Looks like summoning that Magic Knight was worth it. Venti has gotten a lot stronger. Hard to believe it's been two years since that day. His wind powers is not yet reach Levi's high level, but given the proper training. He will reach that level." I smiled. "I should get going before Rean notice me." I then teleported away.

(Levi's pov)

After Venti is back and Rean is giving him a more stern talking and a suitable punishment for the time being. We then begin to head out for our requests.

Rean, Musse and I and the team begin to depart. The team is Juna, Sara and Jusis. And then we begin to 'help out.' Lady Rimabella's quest. And so we begin to arrived at Lady Rimabell's quest. Yep. It's her presence. What is she up too… and why does she only want someone from Crossbell to hear her out… unless… is she curious about Juna? Anyway. So far Phantom Thief B stole her children, Rosenberg dolls. Yeah, yeah. Once we accept the request. I asked the others to allow me to think for a moment. I also ask them if they can wait outside for me too. They're curious why but I'll tell them another time. Once they left the room. Just me and her.

"What are you up to?" I asked as I turn around with a glare.

"Beg pardon? Whatever do you mean?" Lady Rimabella asked

"Don't play dumb with me. You may have fooled the others but you haven't fooled me. I know it's you. Mariabell."

And so Lady Rimabella look surprised.

"Normally, I would have you reveal your true self to everyone. But I'll humor you and play along with your game. I don't know what you're up to. But it's obvious you're interested in Juna, aren't you?" I asked and she didn't respond. "As I thought." I turn around. "Anyway, I'll play your game. For now."

And then I left Mariabell's room. And join up with the others. They ask me again and I told them that I got questions about the Rosenberg dolls and she told me how expensive they are. I don't know much about Rosenberg dolls but they're pretty human-like dolls. And I replied I'm got curious about why Bleublanc would steal dolls with more questions. And then we begin to investigate and go over the places said in the card. After we got the two from Hamel and Olivert's home town.

We begin to head to where it started it all. And then we found out the doll was somehow here in Roselia's barrier. Once all dolls are gather together. And during the ways. I also notice some ancient magic was within those dolls.

"Hey guys. Mind if you all step back for a bit?" I asked

"Huh? Why?" Juna asked

"Trust me."

And then they step back and then I snap my finger and place the dolls in a sphere and then explode on them.

"Levi! What the heck!" Juna exclaimed

"Calm down. This is all a trick." I replied

"Huh?" Rean asked

I look up. "Don't you think playtime is over, Mariabell?"

And as the other gasp and lookup. There they see 'Lady Rimabella' floating in the air. And then she laughed echoes these halls. and the dolls begin to float towards her and reveal her true self.

"Allow me to properly introduce myself. I am the Third Anguis of Ouroboros. Mariabell Crois." Mariabell introduce herself to the others. "And these Rosenberg dolls are part of my treasure's a pleasure to meet you all. But honestly, Levi. Did you have to be ruin my fun?"

"Oh, that's the goal. I'm ruthless to my foes. And since you're my foe. It's only natural that I mess up your doll party and its host." I respond with a smirked

"Ohohoho! You're even scarier than I remember. Oh if we were on the same side. You and I would have become fast friends. I'm surprised you know it was me all along from the beginning. What gave that away?"

"To start with. Your Rimabella is an anagram of your real name. The next was you wanted someone from Crossbell to hear you out. Which brought up that Juna is from Crossbell. This also brought my attention to why would someone who doesn't know us somehow knew we have someone from Crossbell on our team. And since I heard about you and we met recently. I know how to spell your name. While I don't know if Bleublanc is interesting in stealing dolls but once I connected those dots. It all come into place."

"My, your deduction is so sharp if you were only able to connect those two pieces together. It reminded me of Lloyd with his deduction skills."

"Really now? I'm flattered you would compare me with the hero of Crossbell."

"Hehe. My your incredible Levi. I can't believe I was a step away from your deduction of the letter." Musse giggled

"Hehe, that's Levi for you." Rean smiled.

"You guys are making me blush. Aaaaanyway, What do you want? You're obviously curious about Juna. So spill it. Or I'll come over there and make you."

"Hehehe. No need to be ruthless Levi. Aren't we friends?" Mariabell asked. "To answer your question. I won't deny I'm curious about her. I'd been intending to meet Lady Mildine. I've heard much about you. Like how Osborne sees you as a threat, and even the Witch of the Abyss holds you in high regard. Such a vivacious girl- one who doesn't let anyone walk over her. I like that."

"Consider me just so flattered." Musse respond with a smirk

"And as for little Juna Crawford. Elie told me a bit about you. The Special Support Section is counting on you joining their ranks one. You were devastated when you learned about the situation in Crossbell three months ago. Quite the patriot now, aren't you? Then there were your confrontation with my colleague, Campanella. It sparked my curiosity and I wanted to size you up. As it happens, you turned out to be just an ordinary girl. There's nothing remarkable about you. You have plenty of Enthusiasm, but that's all there is to say."

Wow. That literally sting Juna as I see she wanted to punch her. Well I have to step in.

"That's your game? Provoke her?" I sighed. "That's just sad coming from you."

"Oh? And whatever do you mean Levi?"

"You clearly don't know Juna as I… no, all of us do. She may have seen 'Ordinary' to you. But to us. She's a strong woman who knows and demonstrates true loyalty to one's homeland. Despite her resentment toward Erebonia. She comes to care about Erebonia too. While you on the other hand. You're just a sad little girl or possibly an old hag who plays with dolls to fill in the empty shell you left behind. Someone who wanted to taught someone because they're the exact opposite of you. What's more sadder than that?"

"Levi…" Juna was happy and surprise.

"Daaaaamn, that one hell of a burn mark there." Instructor Sara said.

"Ouch. That actually sting Levi. I like you even more now." Mariabell let out a chuckled. "And when someone catches my eye, I can't help but get this urge to bully them. While I definitely take in interest in you. I will surely return the favor someday. But for Juna… I suppose we are opposites. I did abandon that hopeless Crossbell after all. She's not quite my type, to tell you the truth."

And then soon Roselia and Bleublanc appeared to confront Mariabell. And replied that she will owe Bleublanc a favor for misusing his name and then she vanished.

"Good grief with her. And oh boy… I think both Rean's and Ash's influences made an impact onto me." I sweatdrop.

With that done. We begin to do the next quest and then help out with Celestin. It seems the IDF has kidnapped the airship where the Marquis Hyarms and Musse's grandparents are on board. So we begin to help out and prevent them from harming them. We take out the jaegers they hired from the entrance, then parol, and then catch up. Once we defeated them and the two members tried to do something stupid that motivate me to kill them. Suddenly a wide slash strikes at the IDF soldiers and knock then unconscious. Reveal to be Liam's doing. Liam said Osborne really need to control the IDF because of the curse. He told us he had nothing to do with what they were doing and he's only here to punish them for not consulting with their superiors. He already contacted Claire and he teleported away. And right on cue, Claire and the RMP came to the rescue and arrested the idiots. And completed the task. And during the exploring. Then we begin to return to the ship and found out about what we learn.

"So what did you find out?" Rean asked.

"I'm afraid Levi is spot on again. Elise and Tio have been found in Leeves." Towa replied. "But that isn't all. Professor Schmidt has also returned to the branch campus."

"Schmidt? I was wondering where he is for the past two weeks." I muttered. "I bet he's on the Gnomes' side just so he can gain more research data."

"G. Schmidt, one of the three disciples of Professor C. Epstein, the original inventor of orbment technology." Altina said. "He also served as the branch campus' technical advisor."

"He helped us out a great deal during the civil war." Machias recalled

"I've known him for a while now through my grandfather." Alisa added. "Your grandfather was a fellow disciple as well, right, Tita?"

Tita nodded. "R-Right. That's what led to me coming to Erebonia in the first place. But if he's back at the branch campus, that must mean..."

"That would mean he's on the main campus side." I finished. "Major Michael and Class I are watching over Leeves."

"Damn. I mean, I know he wasn't exactly a philanthropist, but still..."

"That's just how the old man is. Kinda doubt there's any bad blood behind it." Ash added.

"Yes. It's like Levi says." Musse nodded. "He was likely more drawn in by the research opportunity than anything else."

"But more important, we now know where Elise and Tio are, aside from the Professor." Emma said.

"Yeah, which means we have our next mission ready." I added. "Now we just need to find a way to get into Leeves."

Fie nodded. "Yep, it's gonna be a lot harder to sneak through this time around. Still, there's gotta be a way in somewhere."

"We'll find it. Just as Class VII always does." Laura said.

"Let's get to finding that route, then! Where do we start?" Elliot

"That's a good question. Obviously, me and Rean are going to Leeve. Who else will be coming along?" I asked.

"Obviously we're in." Venti answered

"Right. There's no one here better suited to infiltrating the branch campus than us." Kurt nodded

"Indeed. We're familiar with Leeves, so it's well suited for us students and facilities." Musse nodded

"Those main campus chuckleheads made their bed. It's up to us to knock'em into it." Ash replied.

"We can do this, Juna. Instructor Rean, Levi." Altina said.

Juna nodded. "You're darn right we can!"

"Thank you, everyone." Rean smiled

"I volunteer to go as well." Cedric said. "Class l are my classmates and friends back in the main campus. As the crown Prince. I will overrule the orders the chancellor has given them."

"I-I want to help out, too. I have to find out what the professor's intentions are!" Tita volunteered.

"Guess there ain't gonna be much for extras this round." Crow said.

"Maybe not, but I'm a part of the branch campus too." Towa reminded. "I have to back them up however possible. Oh, I know! I can try to get in contact with Randy!"

"Well, this main campus graduate ain't just sittin' around. I'll give 'em all the support I can too." Angelica said. "Rean's not the only one who wants to see Elise. Plus, I'd love to put a face to this Tio I keep hearing about."

"Ugh. It astounds me how irritatingly positive all of you manage to be." Duvalie sighed

Celine sighed. "Just business as usual around here."

"I'll start on figuring out our route right away." Rosine said. "Let me know when you've finished your preparations."

Dateline, August 25th

(Trails of Cold Steel IV ost - Towards that Land)

The time to infiltrate Leeves had begun and with Rosine's help, we were able to find a small gap in the airspace security, allowing us to find a suitable drop point at Avon Hills. The plan was for us to get to Milsante and cross over to the north scenic route, passing Grenville and over the hillway before reaching Leeves. Once we're there, the others will distract those detestable IDF scums.

With me, Rean, the new Class VII, Cedric, and Tita, we got ready to be dropped off at Avon Hills. The airship landed and we got off.

"Ahh. The sweet breeze of this fresh air." Venti sigh with satisfaction

"These are the Avon Hills, where we teleported before." Altina said.

"We should be far enough off the beaten track to avoid the IDF patrols." Ash added.

"I imagine they're still keeping a close eye on the roads, though." Musse pointed out.

"True, the last time we were here, we got to Milsante through the teleportation stone, so let's use that as a starting point." I suggested.

Rean nodded. "Agreed, we shouldn't let our guard down until we get to Milsante."

"I think we're pretty close by from here." Tita called

"Oh, yeah, we'll get there in no time at all! We'll show you guys the way." Juna nodded.

"Well then, shall we be off?" Cedric asked

We left the hills and walked along the byroad before taking a right turn and we arrived at Milsante.

"Hmm, it's as sleepy as usual here." Juna said.

"The Imperial Defense Force doesn't seem to have touched this place." Kurt added.

"Ah this place." I smiled. "Brings back memories."

"Oh, you been here before as well?" Musse asked

"Oh yeah, you weren't here as well as Rean. About 13 years ago I've been here because of Sunday School."

"Really? I never knew that." Rean said.

"To be honest. I forgot about it until I return to this place. This is where I first met the Steel Maiden."

And that surprised the group.

"You meet the Steel Maiden here?"

"Yeah. That's when Master Makarov swift me away before she can get close to me. I haven't been able to step out of Erebonia for like 7 years. I really miss this place."

"You're not the only one who miss this place." Musse replied. "I used to come here a lot with my parents when I was a child."

"Ah. I guess you two have quite a few memories of this place, huh?" Juna asked

"No point in just standing here. Let's get started." Ash stated

"Right. Although back then we use the horses to get here." Cedric nodded. "Anyways, let's see if can find a detour road that'll get us to Leeves."

"The north side of Lake Gala." Rean said. "I think we should ask one of the townsfolk for directions. This is my first time here. Might be best to check out the town first."

Altina nodded "Yes. We might get some information on Leeves."

"Alright, let's go." I replied

We made a stop at the White Birch Inn, and on our right by a table were four familair faces. It was Sidney, Louise, Tatiana and Josette.

"Hey! If it isn't Class VII, Prince Cedric, Levi, and Instructor Rean!" Sidney said happily.

"And Tita! So you were safe all along, huh?" Louise added.

Josette giggled. "It looks like you managed to all find each other."

"Josette! It's been too long!" Tita replied.

"Sidney, Tatiana and even Louise!" Kurt added

"It's great to see you all again, but we're here to find out something important." I reminded.

"Yeah, we've got the same endgame, right? Leeves?" Sidney asked

We then joined in the discussion and exchanged information as well as finding out an infiltration route.

"According to the townsfolk, there is another route to Leeves beyond the roadblock on the byroad." Louise explained.

"We've already received permission to pass through, but there's also the risk of monsters, so..." Tatiana added.

"You can leave that to us, we'll clear a path for you all." I declared, posing a little.

"You should meet up with the other branch campus students before heading on to Leeves." Rean said.

"Got it! We're counting on you, Class VII!" Sidney replied. "You too, Your Highness Tita."

"L-Leave it to me!" Tita nodded

"Of course, you can count on us." Cedric added

"Let' try going down the byroad." Kurt advised

We then left the Inn and out of Milsante by going down the pathway where we saw the ruin shrine from before. We move the blockade and then continue further and then I see the lake and I walk towards it.

"Oh, Wow. This is unreal!" Juna exclaimed

"Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it." Rean nodded

"It's been 13 years since I've seen this lake close again. I forgotten how beautiful it was." I smiled remembering it

"Wouldn't it be lovely to go out on the water, Instructor? Just the two of us, of course.~" Musse wink

"M-Musse! You can't just say things like that!" Tita exclaimed

"Okay, we can stare at it another time. Let's get going" I sweatdrop.

We then took a left turn to walk onto a byroad we hadn't walked to before.

Then soon we got monsters charging towards us and then we begin to take them on. And with Tita's Orbal Gear. We completely destroyed them.

"Wow, Tita. Your Orbal Gear is really something." I praised.

"I agreed. The Orbal Gear lll never fails to impress." Kurt nodded

"Yes, I think it's working better than when we used it at the Keep." Musse added

"That's science in action! Heehee. It's all thanks to the great test data you got me." Tita smiled. "Plus, the professor gave me a few tips to work some of the kicks. The day I fulfill the promise I made to Renne might not be so far away after all."

"Hey, That's great." Rean smiled "Honestly? I feel like we should thank you all over again."

"Huh? For what?"

"Well, I know you must want to go back to your friends. You could've gotten off the ship with Agate, but you chose to help us instead."

"Ah, I see what you mean. You're right." I nodded. "I was also worried that you might feel homesick as well."

We then entered the west side pathway of Leeves. Then we can see the railway line leading to Leeves.

"Looks like we're on the right track." I said. "I see the railway lines from here. We made it to the main road."

"And we're right near Leeves, too." Kurt added.

"Oh, good! We should be fine from here." Tita nodded

"Oh, there you are. Had me thinking you guys might never show." A voice spoke.

We turned to our left, and Randy was resting on a tree.

"Lookin' good, Class VII. I see you brought Tita and the crown prince along for the ride as well."

"Randy?!" Juna asked in surprise. "Where did you come from?"

"And how did you manage to sneak your way here?" I also asked

"You should know you can't hide anything from Tio Tot. Towa gave us a call too, so I figured I'd book it over here before you left. I'll be tagging along from here on out. Gotta do my part as Class VIII's instructor."

"Heh, still tryin' to act cool." Ash said.

"We'd be glad to have you with us." Altina added.

It was a long run, but we eventually made it to Leeves through the west enterance.

"Our dorm." Kurt said.

Juna light laughed "We're finally back after so long."

"I'm feeling nostalgic already. Just like the civil war. This dorm was our new home, although I wasn't the assistant at the time until a month later." I patted Rean on the shoulder. " Even so, We did it, my friend."

Rean did the same. "Yeah. The longest month and a half of our lives, we're back home."

"And it's been some time since I visit this lovely town and academy. Takes me back." Cedric smiled

"I think this feeling might be...nostalgia." Altina said. "Considering I don't have a hometown, I never expected to feel this way."

"Aww, Allie. It's only natural to feel that about this place." Juna smiled

"We only lived here a few months at most, and yet..." Musse paused.

"To us branch campus students, it's like a second home." Kurt finished.

Tita nodded. "Yeah, I feel just the same."

"It truly is something we will always remember." Venti smiled

"Eh, it's not bad, I'll give it that much." Ash said.

"True that." I said but then hummed. "But somehow, this town feels...deserted. Let's check the dorm first, then the town, and head to the academy last."

We went inside the dorm building.

"Wow, coming in here really brings back memories. But… where is everyone?" Juna asked

"I heard the dormitory was being used by the main campus students, so it shouldn't be unoccupied." Altina said.

"Amd yet, no one's here at all. Even the upper floors are completely deserted." Rean added.

"You notice it too. Something is off here." I nodded

"If that's coming from you two, this place really must be a ghost town." Randy muttered.

"What should we do? Take a look around?" Tita asked.

"Yeah, we might find some clues." Venti nodded.

"Then it's decided. Let's split up." Musse suggested

"Bet those main campus assholes throw all our stuff aside." Ash remark.

"If they did… I would apologize…" Cedric sighed.

We explored all of the rooms and places to see if there were any changes. My room had somehow remained unchanged and untouched. Did Michael left it like this? After searching all the rooms, we regrouped on the top floor.

"Well, it looks like they haven't touched our rooms, after all." Juna said.

"They brought bags in, so it would be fair to assume they were staying overnight." Altina added.

Kurt nodded. "It looks like they did their best not to disturb our things."

"Yeah. I was expecting they would do something so uncivil yet they didn't do anything of the sort." Venti added

"They even left our photos here." Tita said.

"Somethin' smells off if you ask me." Ash agreed. "It ain't like those guys to act all civil."

"Well, I'm glad they have behaved so civilly. But I'm wondering if they even use the branch campus dorms." Cedric replied

"Well, we've missed quite a lot since we were last here. Perhaps they've changed." Musse said.

"I'm guessing it's because of Michael or they're staying somewhere else." I said before turning to Rean. "So how your room, Rean?"

"It looks like Elise stayed in my room for a bit. She left some of her things behind." Rean replied. "But she couldn't have stayed for long. A few days, maybe?"

"My room was left the same as well." Randy said. "I had to admit. I'm a bit surprised like the rest of you. And the principal's room remains the same."

"I guess It's good to know that the main campus students have shown a little considerate. But we're done searching here, let's move on."

"Right. We have to find Elise, Tio and the others!" Juna nodded.

We left the dorm building and explored inside the stores. The owners were able to recognize us, but they were glad to see us doing all right. We heard that things had gotten quiet, even Radio Trista was silent, which reminded me that we hadn't seen Munk for a long time, I wonder if he's okay somewhere. Next was the mayor's house and Franky was inside, shocked to see us, especially with Rean's changed hair color. I did laugh a bit when he didn't recognize him. We got a lead on Neinvalli where Jino worked. We went over before we were let in by two students.

"Jessica! I knew it!" Juna exclaimed.

"And Wayne as well!" Kurt said.

"Class VII...Instructor Randolph! His Highness, Tita, too." Jessica replied.

"H-Hold on just a moment. Is THAT... Instructor Rean?!" Wayne exclaimed

"Yes, it's been a long time since I've seen either of you." Rean nodded

"Good to see you both, as Rean pointed out, you were the only two we didn't hear about when all you students got separated." I responded. "Anyways, we better talk about what's been happening."

We then got into a discussion about recent events. We learn that Michael and the rest of Class I had remained on campus. That was when we got a call on Kurt's arcus, it was a video call from Class I, Michael and Schmidt.

"Greetings, Class VII." Ada greeted.

"Well met, Vander. Your Highness" Fritz added. "It's been quite some time since our little altercation in the Osgiliath Basin. Of course, we weren't expected to be teleported."

"You two?!" Juna asked

"Ada?! Frintz?!" Kurt added

"Michael and Old Man Schmidt, too!" Randy also added

"Schwarzer, Sullivan, and Orlando." Michael said. "I had a feeling you might come."

"Hmph. Consider me mildly impressed you've made it this far, Fourth Disciple." Schmidt praised with a slight sarcastic tone.

"Professor..." Tita trailed off.

"They seem to have anticipated our arrival." Altina said.

"Well I'm not surprised considering that's how we Class VII are." I replied.

"We heard the news and Levi's hunch was on the mark. Elise and Tio with you, correct?" Rean asked.

"Correct. We have taken the liberty of preparing a secure location for their safekeeping." Michael replied. "As such, no harm has befallen them. Of that, you can be rest assured."

"I see. Very courteous of you."

"Considering this call, you're going to tell us if we want to save the captives you hold, we need to get through to you, hmm?" I said

"Your insight knows no bound it seems. It falls to us to preserve the main campus' honor by the government's orders" Fritz answered. "You'll need to defeat us if you wish to see our guests released."

"I'm quite disgusted how the chancellor had you keep watch on the kidnap victims. Guess it's another effort to enrage war." Cedric muttered

"I'm not surprised if you stand in our way. But so be it. However, you're not alone, aren't you?"

"Correct. You earn your reputation well." Ada said. "Awaiting you are some of the main campus' finest students, numerous instructors, and a few archaisms as well. You won't be getting through our defenses so easily, even with your Instructor and assistant."

"Your final destination is Einhel Keep." Schmidt added. "But bear in mind, you'll need a key card to get in. This will be the final trial, your most formidable yet. I look forward to seeing how you plan to survive it."

The video call ended.

"Are they not aware of how powerful I am?" I sighed

"You're not thinking of going overboard are you?" Cedric asked.

"Of course not! They're still students, and as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a monster you know!"

"I know, but I'm just concern for my schoolmates."

"I don't blame you but I'm not a monster… I just despise Osborne, Alberich, George, Ouroboros and anyone who stands in our way."

"But Major Irving and Ada…" Altina trailed off.

"Yes, I fear their circumstances are the same as the 4th Armored Division's." Kurt muttered.

"Are they trying to confirm something from a battle with us?" Juna wondered. "If that's the case, we can't back down now!"

"Yes, whether it's the main campus or the branch campus, we are still students of Thors Military Academy." Musse nodded.

"I guess we have to show these guys WE'VE got backbone." Ash said.

"And the skills to boot as well." Venti added.

"I=I'll do my best!" Tita declared

"Good. As soon as we're ready, we'll move out!" Rean added. "Jessica, Wayne, can you contact the Merkabah?"

"Leave it to us, Instructor." Wayne replied.

"Once we make contact, we'll join up with you!" Jessica nodded.

We left the exchange store and made our way up the pathway to the branch campus building.

"We will now commence our infiltration of Thor's branch campus!" Rean declared "Tita, Randy and Your Highness, back us up! All right, everyone, let's move out!"

"Right!" We nodded

At the main entrance were a trio of students and four small archiasms that we defeated, knocking the students out. Jessica and Wayne showed up, telling us that the other branch campus students were on their way.

We then went inside the campus building through the left side and past the pool area where two more students and a pair of archaisms which we easily took care of. The clubhouse floor was empty at first until I sense an upcoming attack and look and a surprised attack was commencing. We combat the students with the archaisms which we defeated quickly. We went downstairs to the pool area. It was also empty, but I sense the students coming for surprise attack from behind. But soon we defeated and foiled their surprised attack.

We reached the roofop, but it was clear and we passed through the cafeteria, which was also empty, we then went down to the ground floor and into the conference room, three students and an archaism was there. We handled them without going too far and then we dealt with two more in the music and art room.

That was when Rean noticed a keycard that was dropped. He approached it and pick it up.

"This is the key to the Cargo Platform?" Randy asked

"It must be." Rean replied. "If they were carrying it, that means…"

"It's the building on the side of the field. Let's go and check it out!" Juna nodded

"Right, but let's not forget to stay vigilant." I stated.

We left the campus building and rushed over to the platform next to the hanger and we used the keycard to unlock the door and went inside. The Defflinger was present in the station, which was odd since we thought the Arc Roayle was here, but maybe it was moved to somewhere else. We went through the bayload dock to enter the hanger.

"So...you've arrived." A voice spoke.

I recognized that voice. Rean and I gasped as we look and see a familiar person who is standing on top of a Zauber soldat. It was the one instructor I didn't think I would see again.

"No way...Instructor Mary?!" I exclaimed.

"It's a pleasure to see you again, Rean and you as well, Levi." She replied. "Though perhaps a little less so, considering the circumstances."

"Yeah, no kidding." Rean said.

"Wait, you call her an Instructor, right" Juna asked.

"Yeah. She was our instructor for music, arts and cookery bach when me and Rean were students. She's also an Instructor and adviser for the Music Club." I answered. "The club that Elliot attended at the Main Campus."

"Indeed. I am Mary Althiem: military band instructor at Thor's main campus." She nodded "As Levi mentioned, I also teaching fine arts cookery and music. Along with instructor and adviser for the music club back in their school days."

"Altheim… Any relation to Count Altheim, in Sutherland?" Kurt asked

"Now that you mention it. I think I heard of her from Elliot." Venti replied.

"Yes. I'm also acquainted with her on her music classes…" Cedric replied sadden.

"So you were transferred here all the way from Trista?" Rean asked.

"Yes. There were a few new additions to the curriculum I couldn't bear to overlook." Mary replied. "Even so, I couldn't be happier seeing the fine, young men you've both become. It seems having students of your own for six months has taught you both quite a lot."

I chuckled. "No kidding. But it's a blast."

"Yeah. That's an honor, coming from you too… I'd say we still have a lot to learn, ourselves." Rean added

"But even so, looks like you'll be standing in our way. Please don't take it the wrong way but we'll just push you aside."

"There's no need to worry about that. Though I may not be a worthy opponent, it nevertheless falls to me receive you in battle." Mary replied "Just as my students have fought with resolve, so too, as their instructor, shall I!"

She went inside the soldat and it came online.

"Wait… that's a new Zauber soldat."Venti replied. "It looks like the one me and Musse used."

"Correct. But that's not all." Mary replied in the Zauber Soldat.

And suddenly as it glows with a black aura. The other one suddenly moved.

"Huh? But I thought there was no one in there!" Juna exclaimed

"Wait, is that an automated Soldat?" I asked.

"There… Seems the Zauber Soldats are linking up properly." Mary said. "I'll need all the help I can get to stand up against a Divine Knight."

"Instructor Mary…" I look at her sadden.

"There's no getting around it." Rean said. "We'll take her on with all we've got!"

"Right!"

Valimar and my soldat were brought in and the battle began.

"Get ready, Instructor Mary!" Rean said

"I already am. Come forth!" Mary replied

"You got it!" I nodded

"Me and Rean then charge and clash with Instructor Mary and the Automatic soldat. Instructor Mary cast arts onto us as she dodge. But soon we begin to attack. But we continue to strike and find opening for us to attack. We begin to dealth with the automatic Soldat and then face against Instructor Mary. We did a duo attack and then place her on break state. then we place the final blow. The Zauber soldot was on it's knees now.

"They did it!" Randolph said.

"Instructor Mary!" Rean called out as he and I got out from his and my Soldat.

Mary then came on out, but we saw a slight but of black miasma on her as she looked hurt. "Ngh..."

We rushed over to check on her. "You okay, Mary?"

"I'm fine...I managed to withstand its effects, somehow." Mary replied.

"So it's true… Piloting the Zauber Soldats eats away at the mind of their users…" Musse muttered.

"Then the states of the pilots we've fought against previously… Could that have been due to the curse built into the Soldats themselves?" Altina asked.

"Th-That's horrible!" Tita exclaimed

"I dunno... Sounds pretty far-fetched to me." Ash replied

"But it isn't… The instructor who accomplished me said just the some thing. " Mary remark "We've been trying to avoid it since it became part of the main campus' curriculum, bur as you can see… it isn't quite so simple."

So that's the reason she and the main campus students took action. I clenched my fist. Alberich… you son of a bitch! And Osborne… I swear you will pay for this!

"It's all right Levi. I am fine. But Levi, why did you hold back?"

"So you noticed it, huh? That's because I'm a lot stronger than I was before. If I unleash it, it would be overkill. Besides, you were forced to be here. I don't wanna seriously wound someone who helped me grow to become a good singer. Elliot, Mint and Bridget wouldn't approve of me doing that."

Mary looked at me and laughed weakily. "Oh Levi, you really have grown into a strong, young man."

I helped her up and she gave me a keycard. "A Keycard? This look like for the training hall."

"That's right. The door to the hanger is currently locked. You'll likely find more luck over at the clubhouse first. Your trial has only just begun. The students will be sure to oppose you…. as well as a certain other instructor. Please hurry, everyone. I'll be praying to Aidios for your success."

While Mary recovers, we left the platform area and dashed over to the training hall. We used the keycard and inside were a pair of archaisms, and a very big one which gave us a challenge, but we still won. Rean then noticed a keycard, and it was the one that would get us into the hanger, we rushed over there and used the keycard.

"Hey Rean… how did an Archiasm that large get in here? If my hunch is correct… if Instructor Mary is here… then… the other Instructor… do you think it's HIM?" I asked as I whisper to him.

"It's most likely." Rean whisper back and nodded.

"Ah, you're finally here."

But we then heard another familiar voice and we had to get well back as the hanger doors opened, and out came a different looking soldat, along with an automated one behind it.

"Another new model?" Musse asked

"Damn. Now we gotta deal with a souped up Hector, too!" Ash exclaimed.

"I knew it." I said

"Instructor Makarov! Is that you?" Rean asked

"Heh... Bingo." Instructor Marakov replied from inside. "Haven't seen you two since...graduation, I guess? Huh. Seems you've been doing pretty well for yourselves. As for the rest of you, I don't believe I've had the pleasure. I'm the go-to instructor for military orbal engineering over at the main campus. You can call me Makarov."

"Yeah, I've heard about you." Randolph said.

"You're the professor's second disciple! Mint's uncle!" Tita added.

"I'm just a regular old man, but don't forget. Schmidt was my teacher, too." Makarov replied. "I hear you've been keeping up with his demands pretty well. Sounds like you've got promise, kid."

"Haha… I don't know if I'd put it like that."

"But if you're here now, piloting that…" Altina trailed off.

"You're also going to stand in our way, huh?" I asked.

"Yeah, you might consider me the last wall in your path. I got the last keycard. You want it, you'll need to get past me"

"Of course he'd even the odds with an extra Soldat on the field…" Kurt muttered

I hummed. "You know, Rean. Since this is gonna be outside, we can finally call for it."

Rean nodded. "That's right...Altina, you ready?"

"Yes, Instructor." Altina replied.

Rean raised his arm. "Heed my call, Valimar, The Ashen Knight!"

Valimar appeared.

"To me...Goliath Noa!" Altina called.

And the Goliath Soldat we discovered appeared

"Give that automated soldat the what for, Altina!" I said.

"I may be lazy, but that doesn't mean you get to be. You better give it all you've got." Instructor Makarov said.

"With pleasure!" Rean respond.

"This is my first soldot battle. However, I will give it my all!" Altina said.

And the battle was underway. Valimar begin to attack while Instructor Makarov attacks next with his automatic Zauber Soldot. Then Altina launched some punched at it. Instructor Makarov launched some attacks while Rean strike the automatic. Altina launched a Rapid fire attack onto both of them. Then Altina follow up an attack. Rean launched a strong attack as Makarov did the same thing along with the Zauber soldot. And then Altina launched a cannon attack onto both of them and defeated the automatic. Soon Rean and Altina launched a team attack. The Goliath is super heavy, but with the engine built in it. Is can be flexible, I think. Soon with Altina Launched a strong cannon blast at Instructor Makarov. Rean land then finishing bow. It was the first real soldat battle Altina had, but she was able to keep up and we won.

"Hey, not bad!" Randy praised.

"And Altina did not bad." I added

Instructor Makarov chuckled "Haha, I think that's enough."

Makarov came out of the soldat, looking tired.

"Instructor Makarov... Are you okay?" Rean asked

"Don't worry about me. I'm just a little tired out. Heh… Some damn fine students you got there as well, Schwarzer, Sullivan. It's clear you two taught 'em well. As someone who watch you both graduate, it makes me proud to see how far you've come."

"Instructor." Rean smiled

"You're far too kind." I said. "We don't deserve the full credit."

"He's right, it's not just our doing. It's because my students, Levi and I have a relationship where we all teach each other. And I couldn't have even gotten to this point without the support you and the other instructors gave us during our times at Thors."

"Tch, just take the damn compliment. Eh, whatever. I guess thinking about it like that is proof you've matured." Then he got up. "Follow me. The Keycard is inside."

We went inside the hanger and there were rows of Zauber Soldats.

"There's so many Zauber Soldats… What are they all doing here?!" Juna exclaimed.

"It seems they really were officially added to the main campus' curriculum, then…" Musse trailed off

"This is no doubt Albeirch's work."I clenched my fist and teeth. "Osborne… Alberich… They really are the most detestable and despicable beings in this world!"

"They truly are…" Cedric muttered. "How could they do this to the students?!"

"Thankfully, not too much time has passed." Mary said as she and Instructor Makarov approached us. "So we haven't seen any negative effects from the students so far. But as long as they continue piloting the Zauber Soldars, that rock will never disappear."

"The government saying it's to prepare for the coming war, we can only do so much to avoid it." Instructor Makarov added. "In the midst of all that, there's been a proposal from the students. They suggested leaking information about the 'guests' and settling a location for a showdown to determine the best of Thors."

"So that is what they're up too…" Venti muttered

"Yes… that sound likely like Ada and Fritz and everyone else. They're suffering just like General Craig and his men." Cedric clench his teeth.

"Yeah. This isn't about the brach or main campus students. This is about everyone under the Horned Lion." Rean nodded. "We need to show everyone what Thors students are made of!"

"Rean… Everyone…" Mary smiled.

"Well… Guess all I can do now is see it through." Instructor Makarov smiled.

Makarov handed the keycard to us, and he and Mary wished us well for the battles we had ahead. We left the hanger and made our way over to Einhel Keep. Once we arrived and unlocked the door, we had another call on the arcus.

"Rean, are you guys okay?!" It was Towa calling us.

"Towa… We're all right. We're just about finishing up on our end. What about yours?" Rean responded.

"We managed to make it to Leeves! Some of the branch campus students just met up with us! We can handle the main campus students and their archaisms. You guys focus on taking back the Keep!"

"That's the idea." I replied before the call ended. "Let's hurry before those detestable Imperial Defense Force are back."

"Yeah. Let's go in!" Rean said.

We rushed inside the main entrance hall.

"Oh. So you made it after all. I suppose they've done a halfway decent job of holding you back." Schmidt spoke over the speakers.

"Professor Schmidt! They certainly did. But even o, we still managed to push our way through." Rean said.

"If you're calling us now, then you must be in the small control room on the right." I said

"Wrong. We have a second control room now. It was installed just the other day. Now that our preparations are complete, it is time we begin the final Keep trial."

"Final- wait, this whole thing was just for a Keep trial!?" Juna exclaimed

"We've only gone as far as Level 4…" Ash recalled

"In that case, Level 5 should logically follow." Altina replied

"Wrong again. The Main Campus students completed that level long ago. Your final trial will take place...on Level X." Schmidt answered.

'So in other words, level ten.' I thought to myself.

"Using the entirety of the data collected thus far, I have succeeded in maximising both the Keep's performance and efficacy. I make no small exaggeration when I call this the very apex of difficulty."

"Wow, I'm impressed you can bring out the intense drama." I muttered. "Have you ever considered becoming a drama teacher?"

Ash and Venti laughed hard.

"Hmph! In any event, I highly doubt you'll have what it takes to reach the end… without external help, at least. As such, I will be allowing out... temporary operations to serve as your lifeline."

"Elise?! Is that you?!" Rean asked.

"Been a while, Randy. Good to see the rest of you, too." Tio said. "And I'm glad you survived, Levi. I've heard so much about you meeting the SSS."

"Oh, Rean...I thought I might never see you again!" Elise added.

"Elise! Tio! Are the two of you really okay!?" Rean asked

"Sure am. Though it seems things have gotten a bit strange." Tio replied. "Regardless, Elise and I will be backing you up from our end."

"Right! We'll do whatever we can to provide you with support!" Elise said.

"This should lower the degree of difficulty to something a bit more feasible." Schmidt said. "I trust none of you have any objections?"

"OF COURSE WE DO!" We shout

"Oh, whatever. We'll show you how far we've come since the fourth trial!" I exclaimed.

"That's more like it. I expect you to provide me with data beyond any I've seen thus far. Do not disappoint." Schmidt said.

"Go ahead and take the elevator to the starting point. We'll be in touch soon after." Tio replied.

We then made our way to the elevator and stepping inside, it took us to the tenth floor.

"Starting position reached. Beginning mission." Tio said.

"Be careful, everyone!" Elise stated.

"Don't worry, we've got this!" Rean nodded.

"It's been pretty annoying getting here, but this should be the last hurdle." Juna said.

"Yeah, but Michael, Ada and Fritz are waiting for us." I added. "But before that. I sense a large number of monsters in the vicinity. As well as the higher elements."

"The professor isn't messing around. I get the feeling you're in for an ordeal." Tita replied.

"Even so, we will not lose here." Venti stated

"Yeah. We need to rescue Elise and Tio and get the hell out of here." I nodded "Alright Rean, your orders."

"Very well. Listen up, team. Before us lies the final trial of Einhel Keep: Level X." Rean said. "Let's show them we're ready for anything! Here, we put our perseverance to the ultimate test!"

"Right!" We nodded

We made our way across the floor of the Keep, and the monsters we had to face were not fooling around. They're a lot stronger. Soon we enter a room and suddenly the gate block our exit and the room suddenly glow blueish and I can feel like my EP is draining.

"Wh-What the heck is this?!" Juna exclaimed

"An EP-draining field?!" Tita asked

"That's right. If you take too long in there, you'll run dry." Tio answered

"Use the terminal on the far left to disable it." Elise stated

Okay, this is new to me. Back in my experience. I was training in dungeons and I had never experienced something like EP draining field. Well, good experience but also difficult. I like it. But it is also troubling. I'll remember this as good training. After we deactivated the EP draining Field.

"Phew… that's enough of that." Kurt sighed.

"Bet that twisted ol' geezer had fun settin' those traps for us." Ash muttered

"Oh yeah. I can definitely see that." Venti sighed

"Don't think you've seen everything yet. There's more where that came from ahead!" Tio said.

"Please be careful, everyone!" Elise added

"We will. This is no doubt good training. Even if it is a hellish one." I replied.

And then we begin to crawl through the vent.

"And up the vent we go." Venti quoted.

After we exit the vent. We continue fighting more stronger monsters. We begin to have a little harder time and even I was going to get serious. But we managed and then head into the next hallway and then enter a large space and then an even more powerful monster is there but then another EP draining field appeared.

"Whoa! Not this again!" Randy exclaimed

"There's no terminal in sight, which could only mean…" Musse replied.

"Yup. check above." Tio nodded

We begin to hurry and climb up the latter and deactvated the terminal.

"Okay, that should do it." Rean sigh.

"Ugh, why's he gotta fo all mad scientist on us right now?" Juna muttered

"Er… Objectively speaking, the EP-draining fields are actually a really clever concept!" Tita replied

"Yeah… if someone like to torment..." I muttered "But I can't deny it's good training regardless."

We then begin to head out and then crawl the vent again.

"Mmh. What is with the vent crawling?" I quoted

And then we exit he vent and then begin to march towards the halls against more strong monsters and then hurry our way to find the switches. We managed to find one and then we head down and then the EP draining field appeared. Not again…

"Another one." Kurt said.

"Of course… why am I not surprised." I muttered.

"Don't rush it. The disarming procedure must be followed exactly." Elise respond.

"Keep calm and assess the situation." Tio addded.

We did as they say and then look to the left and found the terminal to deactivate the EP draining field and deactivated.

"The EP-Draining field has been disabled." Altina reported

"The gate above seems to have retracted as well." Musse added

"Nice. You've got one terminal left." Tio announced

"If you can activate it, it should reveal a shortcut." Elise added

"Roger that." I said.

"I don't think I ever encounter a difficult training facility here." Cedric sighed.

"Let's hope we can prevail." Venti replied

We begin to activate the other terminal and then it switch to the shortcut and then we climb back up and then begin to head to the Midpoint and then enter the Midpoint as we go further.

"Hold up, hold up. This ain't another trap, right?" Ash asked

"No, it's safe. But you've got plenty of new ones coming up soon." Tio answered

"Why am I not surprised to hear that…" Cedric sighed.

"Keep in mind, this floor acts as one giant puzzle. Proceed with care!" Elise pointed out.

"So now a maze. Wonderful…" Venti sighed

"Got it! Let's make sure we don't get caught up in whatever traps are coming our way." Kurt advised.

We jump to the bottom and then head to the hallway and battle the monsters again and getting more serious now. Climb up the ladder and enter a room and suddenly everything turn back.

"What the- Who turned the lights out?!" Juna exclaimed

"I can't see a think!" Cedric added

"Is this a light-absorption field?" Tita asked

"Exactly! Try to find the terminal that disables it." Elise answered

"Watch out for hostile targets." Tio added

"Okay, watch out ever- hey! Who touches me?" I asked.

"Sorry, Levi, I must have bump into you." Rean apologized.

"It's alright, we can't see any-oof! Ow! I think I hit a wall."

"I sense hostile targets. Be careful!" Venti stated

We soon end up having trouble with this light absorption and then Cedric found the terminal and disable it.

Musse sighed. "My, this is leagues beyond the past trials."

"I can't imagine my schoolmates going through this." Cedric muttered

"Yeah. I don't remember signin' up for hard mode." Ash added

"Well, I like it, since it helps grow stronger and have sharp awareness." I replied.

"Great work so far. But beware of enemies nearby!" Elise stated

"There's one more location for you to clear." Tio added

"Right!" Juna nodded

We begin to fight our way through and then enter hallways and then end up going through a room then the lights suddenly turn off.

"Something coming!" Rean exclaimed

"I'm detecting several enemies nearby!" Musse added

"Let's keep clear of them as much as possible and concentrate on finding the terminal." Kurt advised.

"Right. Stay close to the wall and find the terminal." Cedric nodded.

We begin to hurry and look for the damn terminal in this darkness while avoiding the enemies in the dark. Man I wish I have some night vision. Anyway. We managed to find it.

"It's deactivated now. What a fascinating mechanism…" Altina said

"Yeah, I wish it could be put to better use than just testing students." Tita frown.

"Well, some people don't really care what their inventions are used for." Tio replied.

"I can hear you, you know." Schmidt replied.

I scoffed "Oh good. Now you can hear me say- 'That's the point.' "

Then we begin to combat powerful archaism and it end up going tougher as I got a little more serious along with everyone else. But it did help grow stronger. Once we found the terminal. The route change. Now to find the other terminal. Then we begin to find the next terminal and then a new path has open. And then we begin to go further and use the other terminal and then we need to reset the terminal from earlier. Then once we did, we hurry to get to the bottom floor. Once we made it. The pathway to the depth is finally open.

"Level X complete." Tio announced.

"That was truly amazing, everyone!" Elise praised.

"Oh thank Aidios it's over…" Cedric sigh of relief.

"Thanks for all the support, Elise!" Rean smiled.

"And you, too, Tio Tot." Randy added

"That certainly was one hell of a challenge." Venti sighed.

"Seriously. I have been through tough hell from my master. Now I can add this into my experience." I muttered

"The professor certainly knows how to torment his students, doesn't he?" Musse asked

"After all that, I'm compeltely drained… Both physically and mentally." Altina sighed

"Let's take a few moments to catch our breath before the battle." Kurt advised.

"Yeah. After all… We're going to enter a bigger fight..." I added.

We take a break to catch our breath. Honestly. That was living hell. I'm glad this improve not just me, Rean, and Randy but for the students. But this is completely ridiculous. After our break and catch our breath and strength. We made our way through the depths part of the floor. We finally reached the end where we had company. Behind Class l and Major Michael is Elise, Tio and Professor Schmidt.

"Rean!" Elise called out.

"Elise!" Rean called out as well

"We've finally found you!" Musse sigh of relief.

"Oh, Rean! You have no idea how happy I am to see you all!" Elise smiled

"Hey… They didn't tough you up too bad, did they, Tio Tot?" Randy asked

"Heh. Not nearly as much as they did you." Tio answered "Thanks for coming all this way for us, Juna, Levi. I know that trial wasn't easy."

"Of course we came! What else were we gonna do, just leave you here?" Juna asked "As long as you two are okay, that's all that matters."

"Yeah. It was hell don't get me wrong." I said. "You put a lot in our way, but we still came out on top."

Michael sighed. "To be honest, I'm surprised you managed to make it this far. Given how mercilessly the professor constructed this challenge, I hardly even expected you to survive."

"Heh. That crazy old coot almost tore us all a new one in there." Ash said.

"Don't jinx it Ash." Venti sweatdrop.

"No challenge is impossible for us, no matter the difficulty." Rean added. "This was nothing compared to what each and every one of us has been through. Tita, Prince Cedric and Randy included."

"Instructor… Right. It's just as he says." Kurt nodded

"Haha. You put a barrier in front of us, we overcome it. Simple as that." Randy nodded

"Though we do have our operators to thank for their assistance." Altina said.

"Hmph...perhaps no handicap was needed after all." Schmidt muttered.

"I-I wouldn't go that far, Professor…" Tita sweatdrop.

"Heehee. If you think the trial ends here, you are sorely mistaken." Ada said.

"That's right, you still have one last challenge before you." Fritz added. "Us! The chosen members of Class I! Chosen by the Imperial Government to guard the campus!"

"Ada...Fritz." Kurt said quietly.

"It seem we'll be going up against our school rivals again. Just like during the Heimdallr field exercises." Musse sigh

"And with Major Michael at their side, we can't take it lightly." Venti stated

"Yes. Their mission have taken them across the Empire, honing their skills further with every crypid and Magic Knight they dispatch." Michael nodded. "In terms of practical combat experience, I'd say they've already surpassed. Class Vll."

"How naive." I respond. "That is what you believe in Michael. You don't know what Class VII and Prince Cedric have been through. We also face Cryptids, Magic Knights, and many other hells. It's pale in comparison then what you have to say. Class l may not be the same back at the capital. But we, Class VII change as well. Although, speaking of change. it seems you're the same back at the Osgiliath Basin."

"You like to run your mouth to those you despise. So if I may ask, why do you act like you know everything about me?"

"Don't flatter yourself. You remind me of Claire. The difference, however, is that she's indecisive, she can't even see what is right or wrong in front of her. While you, on the other hand, are stuck at the fork in the road. You want take that next turn, but you can't. Because your position and the obligations that go with it, they're stopping you from choosing which path to take next."

He looked away, as if he was unable to respond to that.

"Wow… Levi can see all that, huh?" Randolph asked.

"Yeah, he really does." Juna added. "It also leaves me with a question. Is this really what you want?"

"It is." Ada answered. "We realized since then that we've lost sight of what we were fighting for. Our rationale has begun to slip away from us, more and more with each passing day."

"At first, we were content simply serving as the prince's knights." Fritz said. "But before we knew it, the prince disappeared from us, the main campus… had changed. Order had devolved into chaos, and we realized we needed to rethink our purpose. 'Become the foundation of the world'...So said the Lionheart Emperor himself long ago."

"Ada… Frtiz…" Cedric sadden of his classmates.

"I see...so main and branch campus alike, we're all students of Thors." Kurt said.

"Then it sounds like you need a chance to test that new resolve." Juna added.

"That's right. We've faced off on countless occasions, growing more each time than we ever could alone." Ada replied.

"I can think of no better opponents." Fritz added. "Fighting you is the only way for us to find ourselves. So, Vander...will you accept our challenge?"

"You already know my answer." Kurt answered.

"Then Kurt, Fritz. I wish you luck." Cedric said.

Then we all got our weapons out.

"We won't be holding back. Even if you fought countless Cryptids. We fought over something more than that." Venti smirked.

"Hah. If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get." Ash said. "Just remember, you asked for it!"

"We will answer in full force. From one Thors campus to another." Altina added.

"Class l against Class VII… We'll pit our resolve against each other and see whose is strongest. " Musse nodded.

"I'll show you just how far I've managed to come, Professor!" Tita replied.

"Very well. I will personally evaluate the progress you've made." Schmidt said.

I got ready to battle. "If you wanna prove I'm wrong, then come at me with full force, Michael!"

"Very well. I will do exactly that!" He replied. "Class I! Prepare to engage! Keep clear of that Orbal Gear! And whatever you do, do not underestimate Schwarzer, Sullivan, and Orlando!"

"Bring it on, boss man! This is a perfect chance for me to let off some steam!" Randy nodded.

"We'll break through your ranks, no matter what it takes! Thor's branch campus- move out!" Rean command.

"Yes Sir!" Both classes shout.

I link up with Rean while the rest begin to link up. But I'll leave the students fighting the students while fighting Michael. Michael begin to let a commanding buff on the students while Cedric, Venti, and I buff the teams with our crafts. And then so the battle between the two campuses. Michael begin to shoot energy bullets but I Penetrate Hurl onto Michael and those who were on Rean while Rean begin to follow up and Michael dodged and launches bullet attacks. While the students are charging at me. Then Randy begin to use his craft and blow them away. And then Venti begin to use his upgrade craft on the students and gather them while everyone begin to follow up and then I let a strike at Major Michael as I charge and then deflect his bullets and then Rean send out flame projections onto those were on it's reach and then I charge dash and then send Michael flying. And then while the students are putting up a good fight on the students. They decided to give us a hard time. And then I use Spiral Pillars on them and then.

"Let's strike as one everyone!" I shout for rush attack

As the team agreed with their quotes. We all let an all-out burst attack on everyone and some of the students were defeated but few remain to fight. I admire and impress how many have grown. And then Michael launches many bullet attacks onto us and then Kurt launch magical slash onto Michael and then Ash follow up. Rean then use his hellfire vortex slash on Michael and then I use Theia's Light on those who are surrounded by my improved crafts. And then while the main campus students landed some hit on me. I gently push them back while the students and Michael fight us back. And then soon after Venti begin to follow up with Cedric's attack. That's when Tita begin to use her orbal machine fight and strike at the major and Randy follow up. And then as many of the students are down. All that is left is- never mind. Michael was defeated by Rean. Wow...I had to give Michael credit. I've been holding back for the class's sake but He and Class I pushed us very hard, but we managed to pull out a victory when it counted.

(Trails of Cold Steel III ost - Promise of That Day)

"That...should just about...settle it." Musse said.

"Yeah...they really pushed us this time." Venti added.

"We gave it our all...and yet..." Fritz paused.

Ada nodded. "Yes. We've been...soundly defeated."

"Hey, don't sell yourselves short." Ash said.

"You all fought brilliantly. I couldn't be more proud of your efforts… and to call each of you my knights." Cedric smile.

"You put up a good fight. We struggled despite our numerical advantage." Altina added.

Juna nodded. "For real. You guys had us on the ropes a few times there."

Kurt and Juna walked up to Fritz and Ada and offered their hands out.

"This isn't about who won or lost, or who was right or wrong." Kurt said.

"Yeah." Juna added. "What's important is that we were able to give each other our all. I just hope it helped, in the end."

"Juna..." Ada responded. "...it has. That resolve of yours really is something to behold."

The two students accepted the gesture and they stood up.

"I can see now that our path is clear." Fritz said. "Now we can face the future, without anything holding us back. We owe it all to you, Class VII, Prince Cedric."

"Of course. The pleasure is ours." Kurt replied.

And shortly, both campus students started having little talks with each other.

"Well, would you look at that." Randolph commented. "All our little fledglings are growin' up fast. Not to get all sappy on you, but… moments like this really do make it all worth it."

"Hah… that they do."Michael nodded

"Yeah. It was quicker than I expected. They grow up so fast. I couldn't help but feel so proud of them… almost like…" I couldn't help but wonder what does this feeling means to me… but it was warm. Ah… it maybe reminded me back me and Rean and everyone else was back as students. How nostalgic. "Brings back memories, huh, Rean?" I whisper to him.

"Yeah." Rean nodded as he whisper back. " No matter how bad the world gets, the spirit of Thors will always live on."

"Rean!" Elise ran up to him and hugged him tight. "You're okay! I'm so relieved! I thought for sure that you… that perhaps, you…"

"Elise...it's all right, I'm right here." Rean hugged her back. "You've gotten so thin. Have you been so worried about me, you haven't been eating? Though, I guess I'm in no position to say you look any different, given the way I look."

"I couldn't care less about that...you're still the same brother I've always known. All that matters now is that you're back… That we're with each other, together at last… that you're holding me here, safe in your arms… That's all I ever could've wished for."

"I'm glad to see you, too. You don't have to worry anymore, Elise… Everything's okay now…"

What a sweet moment between the love of siblings. I envy you Rean.

"This concludes the final trial. I don't care one whit for your reunions, but the data looks promising, at least." Schmidt said. "As for you, Fourth Disciple. Your Orbal Gear has met the bulk of its required qualifications. In other words...you pass. You are now one step to Albert's caliber, if only just."

"R-Really?!" Tita gasped. "Oh, thank you! Thank you so much, Professor!"

"Don't get ahead of yourself… You only just passed."

The mission was then declared a huge success. When we all left the Keep, Towa and all of the branch campus students met up with us. We got the branch campus staff in Leeves they look after the exhausted students. The archaisms were shut down and stored away along with the Zauber Soldats under Michael's orders. We soon began a greeting discussion between both of the campus students. Me, Rean and the rest of us were in the tactical conference room, seeing Elise and Alfin looking happy, reuniting their friendship with each other.

"So then, what will you do now, Michael?" I asked.

"It won't take long for the Imperial Defense Force to notice, even in their current state." He replied. "Branch campus students and main campus students who wish to join them should report to the Derfflinger."

"Major Irving..." Towa said.

"I see, so you left the RMP, huh?" Randolph asked.

"Yes. It's only temporary, but I'm a part of Thors for now." Michael answered. "The students are ready to lay down their lives. As Chief Instructor, I can't help but respect their resolve."

"Thank you, Major." Ada said.

"I apologize, but we're going to have to rely on your kindness for now." Fritz added.

So that is what the Derringer is here for. Smart move indeed.

"Hmph, I prepared another option as well. We need someone who can keep command in non-military situations. For Rievaldt and the others." Michael said

"Thank you for looking after the branch campus students." Rean said.

"If more than half of the students want to leave we'll have to shut down the campus for a while." Mary replied. "It would be good if we could get the Zauber Soldat curriculum suspended anyway…"

"Honestly. I really wanted to destroy those disgusting machines." I muttered.

"I understand completely. But you can't. At least not yet." Instructor Makarov said. "Well, you can leave it to us. No doubt they'll be a pain about it, but we can handle it."

"I'm in your debt" Michael said.

"Thank you, Instructor Makarov and Instructor Mary!" Towa smiled

"Are you going on the Derffligner, Professor?" Tita asked.

"Yes, I've finished my business here, and we're heading in the same direction anyway." Smchidt replied. "I have quite a lot to take care of, so I'll leave the...issue we discussed to you for now, Major Irving."

"Yes. I'm sure the branch campus students will be a great help." Michael responded.

"It is REALLY fine to leave this up to… her?" Instructor Makarov asked.

"Hmph, she has the skill. It's just a matter of directing it to good use." Schmidt answered.

"'She?'" I asked

"Heh, I can't give you the details at the moment. I'll explain later." Tio said.

"Hey, Tio Tot, you got a secret?" Randy asked.

Why do I get the feeling I'm going to laugh at this?

"Just a little one. You didn't hear this from me, but… I might have helped with the Level X settings"

"You WHAT?!"

"Pfft... Ahahahahahaha!" I then burst into laughter. "Serious, Tio? Ahahahaha!"

"And there he does with the laughter." Fie sweatdrop.

"I see… that's why it was so difficult." Altina muttered.

"Hmph, don't worry about it for now. You'll understand when it's time."Schmidt said. "It's evident you're ready. Go ahead. That should make it clear to those foolish disciples of mine that you're serious."

Foolish disciples...hmm, he must be taking about George and Alberich.

"I can't believe at first that Franz was still alive." Instructor Makarov muttered. "No one's on his level. And if George is involved, things will be difficult."

"Maybe, but we can't back down now." Crow said as he fist bump his fist.

"Yeah, we have to push forward." Rean nodded. "Our time at the academy's prepared us for this as members of Thors' Class Vll."

"Right, we need to stand against the use of Zauber Soldats, too!" Alisa nodded.

"Hmm… very well." Schmidt nodded

"I will pray for your success, Class Vll." Fritz smiled. "Please watch over Prince Cedric is our place."

"It won't be long now. Let's do what we can." Ada added

"Of course. Please be careful, all of you." Juna nodded.

"May you go in Aidios' grace!" Kurt added.

"Please take care." Cedric smiled.

Well, for now, we were content with calling it a day and that Leeves, the place where we called home, was back in our control.
