It had been 7 months since TJ and Spinelli had started dating, through ups and downs their relationship didn't change much, when not hanging out with their friends TJ and Spinelli would always come to the abandoned playground and play on it with a few kisses between the couple from time to time, their friends got so used to it that they didn't even bother spying on them anymore, everything was peaceful and just they way TJ and Spinelli wanted it to be, they never kissed at school grounds of course since they were terrified with the idea of anyone finding out.
TJ was sitting on the school steps laughing with his gang, Spinelli was resting her back against the handrail, They were all laughing at a photo of Gus's dad when he was his age "Gus are you sure this isn't just a picture of you without glasses and black and white?" TJ asked smiling at the small boy
"I swear it's him" Gus said laughing "I will be stronger than Spinelli when I grow up, I'm telling you guys" Gus said
"We will have to test this one out someday" Spinelli laughed then frowned "Look alert, Snitch approaching" Spinelli said while looking at Randall who was walking up to them with his usual evil smile at them
"TJ and His friends" Randall grinned at them "TJ and Spinelli, would you mind giving me a back massage and a serving of french fries?" He smiled at the couple
"The amount of cookies Finster feeds you finally made you crazy?" TJ laughed along with Spinelli
"No, what made me crazy was the scene I witnessed and even took a couple of pictures and audios yesterday, in the abandoned playground near your house" Randall had a wide grin on his face
TJ and Spinelli looked at Randall their eyes open wide in terror and surprise "As you wish…" They both lowered their heads and followed Randall
The rest of their friends looked at each other a bit worried "What do we do?" Gus looked at Grethen and Vince
"I wouldn't worry now, the worst is yet to come" Gretchen said
"What do you mean?" Gus looked at his other friends a bit confused
"TJ is one thing but Spinelli… She will punch him before the day is finished" Vince said
"I'm guessing a broken nose" Mikey said
"I would say a broken tooth is more likely, Spinelli has been practicing her hooks recently" Gretchen said then fixed her glasses
While that, TJ was fanning Randall with a piece of cardboard while Spinelly massaged his back "More to the left please…" Randall said in a pleased tone of voice
"How did you find out?" Spinelli whispered in his ear
"I went to my usual snitch jogging after a hard day of school like I always do. When I saw you two going alone there, I thought I had found silver but in truth I found gold!" Randall laughed
"Snitch jogging?" TJ looked at him a bit disgusted
"Miss Finster loves to know when students are doing wrong things outside school" Randal snickered
"How long do we have to keep doing this?" TJ said while he kept fanning Randall
"Until the end of Elementary school?" Randall smiled at him
"ALRIGHT THAT'S IT!" Spinelli shouted "Here is the deal, you won't tell a soul or I swear to god I will make you UNRECOGNIZABLE!" Spinelli kicked Randall out of the chair he was sitting on and cracked her knuckles
"So you do want to get your secret told to the whole school?" Randall smiled while laying on the floor a bit scared but confident Spinelli would see reason
"I…" Spinelli sighed then helped the boy get up "Sorry Mr Randall…" Spinelli forced a smile clearly furious at the boy
"It is no wonder you two like each other, you both are just really dumb" Randall laughed while patting himself taking off the dust
TJ sighed "True…" TJ formed a fist and hit Randall right across the face knockin the snitch on the floor while he rubbed his cheek and looked at TJ in anger, Soon enough a crowd of students including King Bom himself being carried by his personal guard
"Detweiler fighting with Randall the Snitch? Today is a most interesting day, I allow it" King Bob said
"There will be no fight" Randall snickered as he grabbed a couple of photos from his pocket and threw them in the air
The students grabbed the photos that were scattered through the playground, they had pictures of TJ and Spinelli kissing on the abandoned playground some kids were whispering amongst themselves while others snickered at TJ and Spinelli who had their heads lowered clearly embarrassed at the prospect of the end of their reputations
"And for anyone who may think these are fake…" Randal pulled a recorder from his other pocket and played it
"So I was thinking, do you think we could find somewhere to date? I love you but I'm sick and tired of this abandoned playground, it has been seven months already Teej" Spinelli said
"Probably, we just need to be careful, if we meet anyone we can just say the others ditched on us" TJ laughed then was abruptly cut by the end of the recording
"We are doomed…" Spinelli whispered to TJ
"Sorry for punching him…" TJ said with deep regret printed on his face
"Nah, I was about to do the same" Spinelli said "You went easy on him to be honest, your punches got nothing on mine" Spinelli and TJ laughed among themselves despite the embarrassing situation
The couple suddenly noticed the crowd was dividing itself between boys and girls "What the-" Before TJ could finish he was grabbed by a couple of boys including king bob and taken away
"Hey what are y-" Spinelli felt people grabbing her as well, it was a bunch of girls who dragged her inside the school and went inside the girl's bathroom, Spinelli then noticed a bunch of known faces, Gretchen was there but also The Ashleys, Cornchip girl, Upside-Down girl, Swinger girl and a couple of other known faces in the playground "Alright… who wants to go first?" Spinelli cracked her knuckles ready for a fight
"I fear it's nothing like that Spinelli" Gretchen said
"What?" Spinelli eased her fighting stance and looked at the crowd of girls blushing while looking at her
"H-How does it feel?" Cornchip girl was the first to ask Spinelli
"Uhhh…" Spinelli looked at the girl still quite confused
"God she and Detweiler make the perfect pair, both are idiots, She means how does it feel to kiss a boy?" Ashley A. asked "And don't say it's gross because this photo has something else to say" Ashley pulled a photo of Spinelli and TJ kissing
Spinelli groaned "Do I really have to?"
"YES YOU DO!" All girls in the bathroom said at the same time
"Fine… There is one condition though, you can't make fun of me and TJ about it "Spinelli paused for a moment to collect her thoughts
"Fair enough, come on, spit it out" Swinger girl said
"It… It feels great" Spinelli lowered her head
The girls gasped in surprise a few whispers could be heard again
"Details please" Gretchen said
"Not you too Gretchen…" Spinelli tried avoiding eye contact with the other girls "It… makes you feel all warm inside… Teej said he feels the same, and then… just happy thoughts" Spinelli smiled to herself without noticing as she remembered her first kiss with TJ
The girls talked among themselves in shock at Spinelli's reaction, it was a rare sight seeing the girl smile like that even to the girls, while they kept talking Gretchen approached the girl and patted her on the shoulder "You okay?"
"Sorry for hiding it from you guys it's just…" Spinelli looked at Gretchen a bit saddened
"Actually…" Gretchen scratched the back of her head "We knew… since the beginning, we even know where the secret playground is"
"WHAT?!" Spinelli looked at Gretchen in shock "You guys spied on us?!"
"Just for the first few days" Gretchen chuckled trying to improve the situation
Spinelli covered her face in shame "Worst day ever…"
While that, TJ was kneeling in front of King Bob with a couple of boys from around the playground behind him "So you guys actually knew?" TJ looked at Mikey, Vince and Gus who were smiling at him a bit embarrassed
"You guys were hiding it so well we didn't want to spoil your fun" Vince shrugged
"It was like the tale of Romeo and Juliet, tho fated souls that could only get together when hiding from their peers, The Tragedy!" Mikey said covering his eyes in a dramatic way
"Silence" King Bob said "Detweiler, You do understand you lied to me in a way… I understand it was necessary but you lied nonetheless and because of that I want…" Bob looked at Detweiler menacingly
TJ closed his eyes ready for the punishment
"The truth" King Bob said "What is it like to kiss a girl, If you fail to tell the truth… A swirlie will suffice'' He smiled at TJ as the crowd behind the boy gasped
"Such barbarity… The Humanity!" Mikey covered his face in terror
"I have one condition" TJ smiled at King Bob
"Hmmm… you helped me in the past plus you are a loyal subject… I will allow it, what is your condition?" King Bob asked
TJ cleared his throat "If the boy and the girl truly like each other… then the playground can't tease them about it as any other" TJ smiled
A bunch of boys complained angrily at TJ "NO WAY, I'M TEASING DETWEILER UNTIL THE END OF TIMES FOR THIS ONE!" Lawson said in a clearly angry tone
"Shut up Lawson" King Bob said then cleared his throat then turned to his official playground rule writer "Write it down, If the boy and the girl truly like each other then the playground can't tease them like any other… but if the boy and girl are sappy at the playground and bother the others… they may as well be teased as much as possible by the others" King Bob smiled
"Fair enough" TJ shook king Bob's hand "It feels great, kissing a girl I mean"
A bunch of boys gasped behind TJ while King Bob looked at him still a bit curious "I didn't add a new rule to the playground rulebook just for an "It feels great" Detweiler, Details, Now" King Bob said
TJ blushed "Yes your majesty.. it's... soft, makes you feel all warm inside and a few seconds later you smile without even noticing" TJ said
"I'm skeptical about the possibility of a boy liking a girl, that said it is rare to see you getting violent Detweiler, so there must be something to it, I believe in you, for now" King Bob said "You may go" King Bob smiled to TJ with confidence in his judgment
A few minutes later TJ and Spinelli were sitting on the school steps again both covering their faces on their knees "The whole school knows now…" Spinelli sighed
"Could be worse, at least we managed to strike a deal with everyone for the truth…" TJ said
"Sorry for not telling you sooner, the prospect of seeing you two dating each other without interference was way too interesting" Gretchen said
"What she means is that you two are cute together" Vince said
"Stop!" Spinelli pushed Vince away clearly embarrassed
"At least kids all over the playground will feel safer if they ever feel for someone in the future, you guys made history" Mikey said
"You like someone?" TJ raised his head and looked at Mikey
"I think I haven't found someone yet, it's a question of time though" Mikey hummed a song in amusement
"Vince?" Spinelli looked at him with an inquisitive look
"Nah, I would hate making a girl jealous when I turn into a champion in all known sports and get tons of attention from girls all over the world, it would break my heart" Vince said in a very relaxed tone of voice
"Show off… What about you Gretchen?" TJ looked at the smartest in the group who blushed in response
"Maybe when I'm old and get my third Nobel prize…" Gretchen said
The team all turned to Gus who was sweating bullets at that point "Gus?" The team asked at the same time
"I… Can we change the subject…?" Gus laughed in a clearly nervous way
"It's always the quiet one…" Vince said while looking at Gus "Who is it?"
"N-None of your business!" Gus got up and tried to leave only to bump into someone and fall on the floor he then felt someone putting on his glasses for him "Thanks guys I-..." In front of him stood Cornchip girl smiling at him blushing
"Sorry about that Gus, I got distracted and didn't see where I was going" Cornchip girl said then grabbed Gus's hand helping him stand up
"I… I… Thanks Theresa…" Gus blushed
Spinelli nudged TJ on the ribs smiling at him with a knowing look
"Listen… My dad bought a new set of land and sea for me, would you like to…" Cornchip girl was clearly very embarrassed
"I would love to!" Gus said out loud
"Kay… Wanna hang out together during recess? Your friends seem to be giving you a hard time " She said
"Of course" Gus walked out with Cornchip girl
Cornchip turned her head around to take a look at Spinelli and TJ and said something without making a sound
"Gretchen?" TJ looked at his friend
"According to my lip reading skills she said "Thank you" " Gretchen smiled "A cute couple"
"No joke, they can even give you two a run for your money" Vince said
"Great, it helps take a few eyes off from us" Spinelli said
"Is the date thing in another place besides the playground still up?" TJ asked
"You bet, it's even better now that we don't need to keep it a secret" Spinelli Kissed TJ on the cheek
"Not in front of everybody Spinelli…" TJ blushed while the rest of his friends laughed at him amicably
