(Levi's pov)
(Trails of Cold Steel IV ost - Still to the Front)
Once our performance was done, we heard that Rean and his team had managed to accomplish their mission. Laura was able to break the mask that held her father under control and he was back to our side. What's more surprising is that the powerful individual was Master Makarov. He was under Liam's orders to assist the Rivalry. But also help us gain new strength. Aww. But after that, they also saw a shadow of Mcburn's true form and told me that our showdown is coming up. They also confronted Mariabell at the rooftop. But she deactivated the beam generator for them and vanished it with her. The way to the pillar of light was now clear.
Which brought me to where all of us were back on the Courageous with Viscount and Master on board with us.
"Welcome to the new Crimson Wings." Olivert greeted, shaking his hand. "It warms my heart to be able to speak with you on the bridge like this again."
"I feel the same. I apologize for all the trouble I must've caused you." Viscount replied. "As you made your return aboard the Crimson Wings, your radiance was blinding, even through my mask. We both lost so much, but it seems that we've also gained much in its place."
"Yes...I would agree. I can see that just by looking at Class VII."
We all nodded in agreement, especially Laura who was happy to see him back to his normal self.
"Honestly. I'm very relieved to see you well. But I'm even more surprised that you're here too." I look at Master.
"Yeah. We're just as surprised as Levi is."
"It's understandable. Considering who I serve." Master Makarov nodded. "Still… I'm surprised you found out the truth of your background. As well as mine."
"Yeah… I never thought it would be like that. So. Are you here under Liam's orders to help us?"
"Yes and no."
That got our attention.
"It's true I'm also here to assist you against the Great Twilight from the shadows. But I'm also here to apologize to you Levi. I can understand that you are angry with me. For all these long secrets."
"It's alright. You were under Liam's orders. So… you wanted to check on me?"
"Yes. You have grown so much as well. I'm very proud of you. Not just you. But your friends and allies as well. And your little brother."
"Hehe. Thank you." Venti smiled.
"How are your wounds Lord Arseid?"
"I am quite all right, thank you, Sir Makarov. Thank you for assisting me." Victor answered
"It was my pleasure."
"Huh. You know. I just thought of something." I replied.
"And what's that?" Rean asked.
"Doesn't the Viscount and my master… act the same?"
"Huh? Now that you mention it. They do seem to have similar personalities." Crow replied.
"Well, age comes wisdom." My master crosses my arm. "And experience feed growth. You all come along way to make it thus far."
"Indeed." Victor nodded. "It's a pleasure to make the acquainted of the Master of Levi Sullivan. Your Glaive style is an impressive style indeed."
"You honor me Lord Arseid. The Arseid style is also remarkable for the will and soul of the individual."
"I believe you and I will become good friends."
"Indeed."
"Wow, Laura. Your father and my master are alike." I said as I turn to her.
"I agree. They get along just as we have." Laura smiled "Your master strength is just as extraordinary as my father. I can understand how you possess such strength."
"Yeah, thanks to him. I felt like I gain something new." Rean nodded
"That's my master for you." I wink. "Anyway. It's late afternoon already, but are we ready to face the Stahlritter?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's time to hit up the Stella Sanctuary- the stage for the fourth Rivalry." Crow said.
"Until we've seen this Rivalry through to its end, we'll follow your lead, Duvalie." Rean said. "As your allies, you can count on us being right there with you."
"And if it's all possible, take me with you to the shrine, too!" Juna voluntered. "Erebonia's future is Crossbell's future now. As a representative of Crossbell, I'd like to see what happens next with my own two eyes."
"You're all so..." Duvalie trailed off then she sighed "Fine. Do whatever you want. Just know that one cannot face my lord with half-hearted resolve. It will require flawless preparation! I hope you've steeled yourselves!"
"Right!" We nodded
"Once we're good to go, just say the word, my friends. If need be, we can probably even set the ship down on this side of the pillar of light." Olivert suggested
"With the Imperial Defense Force dispatched, entering town would be a rather risky move right now." Elise added. "You should be fine as long as you don't venture beyond that beach off the shore of the side road."
"St. Ursula Hospital should be safe to visit as well. Just let us know f you'd like to drop by." Alfin said.
"Alright, let's get some prep work done and we'll be ready to depart." I declared
After refreshing for a bit, the Courageous departed and we arrived outside St. Ursala hospital with Rean, myself, Cedric, Duvalie, Crow, Juna. Ash, Altina and Laura, We made a quick visit to the hospital to check on the Emperor and he was doing well, but the day of his operation was looming closer.

We wished him well and then made our way through the wetlands before reaching the pillar of light, which was a purple color.
"Oh! There's the entrance to the sanctuary." Juna pointed.
"About time. Gettin' here was tougher than I thought." Crow said.
"But the bright side is the IDF isn't here to stop us this time." Cedric replied
"Let's get going, Duvalie." Rean added. "We'll never be able to start all of this unless we head inside."
"Hmph. I don't need you to tell me that." She replied. "Let's move out."
"Right!" Juna nodded

We went through the entrance and walked into the Stella Sanctuary, and it was slightly different from the other four but similar to Liam. Except for their planets.
"So this is the Stelle Sanctuary. It's a galaxy version. How beautiful." I commented. "Liam's Realm has green stars and nebulas while I see planets."
"But beautiful as it is, there's this... tension in the air." Juna said.
"And someone's waiting here for." Rean added.
Duvalie nodded. "Yes. I sense the aura of battle, clear as day. I'm sure our opponents are also aware, of the significance this place has held to our lord over these past two and a half centuries."
"Well, now. Wouldn't wanna let 'em down, now would we?" Crow asked.
"Make no mistake, our opponents are proud warriors who will wipe the floor with us if we let down our guard for so much as a second." Rean said.
"Be ready to engage at the moment's notice, and don't even think of holding back to save your strength for later." Duvalie replied. "No matter what-or who- stands in our way, we shall cut them down and reach my lord hale and hearty!"
"Yeah! Let's do this!" Juna nodded
Laura chuckled. "Spoken with the unwavering conviction of the Stahlritter."
"Glad to have you with us." Rean smiled.
"Enough with the motivational speeches. Let's get a move on!" Crow replied
"Right, when we face Lianne, I'm sure we'll have a few questions for her." I added.
We made our way across the area until we defeated a monster near the barrier.
"Okay… Now what do we do about this barrier?" Juna asked
"It seems to be powered by fire mana… but there's also some time mana mixed in." Duvalie informed.
Yeah, I sense it too.
"There's has to be a way to deactivate it. Levi, can you locate the switch?" Rean requested.
"Sure, hang on." I nodded and then use search magic.
"What is he doing?" Duvalie asked
"He's using search magic. We can find things more quickly." Rean answered
Then found it. It's close by!
"Found it. The mechanism is very close from here. Let's smash it and then pressed on." I answered
We begin to move forward and dealt with the monster nearby it and broke the mechanism. Then the barrier dispel and then we made our way and see more of this phase space.
"The stars here are absolutely beautiful, but… also a little creepy." Juna trailed off.
"Yeah. They're sparking like gems, but the sky's being swallowed up by the fire of war." Crow nodded
"They burn as sharp and bright as the determination in my lord's eyes." Duvalie replied.
"Beautiful and gloomy as it is. It pales in comparison to Liam's domain…" I said.
"Right. During the second Rivalry…" Cedric nodded
We continue the path and have to solve a few puzzles, so it was just like before with Zephyr, The Lunar Sanctuary and Liam's domain. Once we got up a lift, we went upwards to a big area where the way to the next section was close, but someone was in our way. It's Ennea.
"Welcome, everyone." Ennea greeted.
"Ah, it's her!" Juna said
"Greetings, Ennea." Duvalie replied.
"Ol' deadeye with the orbal bow, huh?" Crow asked.
"Hello, Duvalie, Class VII. What a pleasure to see you." Ennea said. "I hear Arc en Ciel's popularity has been soaring as of late. A shame I wasn't able to attend the latest performance."
"Yeah, I wish I could've seen it myself." Rean agreed. "Would be a pity if the world got annihilated in the near future and we couldn't ever go see a play together."
Did he literally just flirted with her?
"Heehee. Touche." Ennea responded. "It's no wonder Duvalie forsook us to abscond with you."
"Do not mock me." Duvalie said. "I left because I yearn to discover what our lord's true intentions are. If you're going to stand in my way, I will show you no mercy."
"Whoa, Duvalie…" Juna whisper
"Quite the resolve." Cedric chuckled
"Heh. Good to see the fire still burns in our head knight." Ennea smiled. "You know about the cult- that disgusting organization that venerates devils. My parents offered me to them as a test subject. Learning to use an orbal bow was the only happy byproduct of that vile exchange. But it was our lord and Duvalie who rescued me- who wrested me back from the blink and helped restore my humanity. My debt to you will never be fully repaid."
How dare her parents… were they one of the people I killed back as an Arbiter?
"You must have had a trouble life. But I'm glad that you are safe and rescued." I said. "But right now, I need to speak to your lord, and if we have to get through you, then fine by me."

A pair of archaisms appeared and Ennea leaped to a nearby platform.
"Our lord will be your final opponent here." Ennea said. "Due to your absence as our head knight, Duvalie, I now take up the mantle. You understand what that means, right? I will not back down."
"I'm more than ready to face you, Ennea." Duvalie replied. "Now you understand that I will open a path ahead of us...as Duvalie The Swift!"
Ennea begin to jump onto the platform as she is going to fire from the distance and then we begin to take on the Archaisms. I link up with Duvalie. The Archasims are just machines we had experiences as we slash and dodge Ennea archery. The Archaisms launched their bash and axe slash but we dodge them and parry. Then Ennea use her craft and increase their movement. Duvalie launched her swift attack while I use Spiral Pillar on them. Everyone else launched their Crafts on them. Soon we all did a burst. As we manage to destroy it. Then Ennea join the fight and shoot many arrows onto us with her craft but We begin to stike at Ennea. Me and Duvalie ready our weapons and we charge with speed and slash Ennea back and then soon the rest of our allies begin to join and strike at Ennea. And then when she power up. Then we begin to take it serious and then Laura begin to use her strongest craft and push her back and then Ash landed a strong strike onto her and Cedric landed a powerful strike and Ash follow up and brought Ennea onto her knees.

"Heehee...you've gotten so strong, Duvalie." Ennea praised. "Seeing you grow so much is a little bittersweet, I admit."
"I think it's time you stopped treating me like a child." Duvalie replied. "Leave the rest to me. With their help, I will reach our lord."
"Very well. You've earned your right to pass. See this through to the end. You may just be able to make good on your claim."
She then fainted
Juna panted "We did it… but things are only gonna get tougher from here on."
"She was so powerful that it didn't feel unfair for all of us to be fighting her at once." Rean said. "Well, comparing to Levi here… it might be unfair."
"Hey! Well… that's true." I nervously laughed.
"Indeed. She's one of the mightiest warriors you'll ever meet." Duvalie nodded. "My Lord wouldn't have chosen her otherwise. What's more, the close proximity of our lord only adds to her motivation."
"I can understand that. It's just like my master. But you know, if my Master and Arianrhod were to fight… who will win?"
Rean hummed. "A good question. Your master is crazy strong. I can't tell if he's a match for the Viscount, Mcburn, the Principal, or the Steel Maiden."
"Anyhow, that's one down. Who's next on the chopping block?" Crow asked as we get back on topic.
"I'm guessing... no... I know that it's Ines is next." I answered
"Yeah, I think you're right. We'll meet her soon." Rean nodded. "The path is clear- let's go!"
We passed on to the second section where we dealt with more monsters and puzzles along the way until we reached the end of the second area where the Ines was waiting.
"So you've arrived." Ines said.
"Greetings, Ines." Duvalie replied.
"So Ennea wasn't able to hold you back. You've shown us on numerous occasions that you are not to be trifled with. And with Duvalie on your side, that more or less evens the playing field."
"The sass is strong with this one." Crow said.
"The difficulty just jumped from 'high' to 'you might wanna give up now'." Ash added.
"She's set on defending her master till the end." Laura added
"You haven't change, Ines." Duvalie said. "Not since you recklessly challenged our lord when you were a bracer."
"She was a bracer?" I blink.
"That was a long time ago. My bracer emblem likely lies rusted at the bottom of some long-forgotten ditch." Ines said. "With my family's military tradition lost, I sought my ways of putting my martial abilities to good use. Thus, I joined the bracers, but soon found myself constrained by… special provisions. Sometimes, people in positions of authority would go unpunished for their crimes, while the innocent would suffer."
"I've heard rumors of this from Toval." Rean replied.
"One day, I watched on as my lord executed the ringleader of a criminal group. His influence and authority meant nothing to her. Without hesitation, she punished villainy to keep innocent people safe. I realized that this was the ideal I aspired to. And didn't you too, Duvalie?"
"Yes. Our personal histories differ, but like you, I was won over by our lord's commitment to justice." Duvalie nodded. "Even now that I've left the Stahlritter, I still feel the same loyalty towards her. Which is why I have to ask her in person why she is doing all this. I'll defeat anyone in my way- even our lord, if that is how it must be!"
"Well said Duvalie. To be honest. Hearing this story is nostalgic." I smiled
"Huh? How?"
"I too was like Ines. But I wasn't a Bracer during my isolation. Rean's the only one who knows this. But back then, I also punished many people in Erebonia. Many of them are nobles, corrupted people, and criminals who would abuse their position on the innocents and commoners. My master and I punish them for their crimes. And send to Gehenna where they belong. I wasn't aware that there's another who share my ideal."
"Huh. This is certainly unexpected." Ines replied. "I never imagined you were just like our lord and the Stalritter. But I did hear rumors that many of the nobles of Erebonia disappeared and they were never found. So that was your doing."
"Yep. Like I said. Many of them are corrupted. The Nobles of Erebonia are scum and trash because they abuse their position, thinking they're all high and mighty because of their status. So my master and I punished them when I was young. It felt so long ago. Hearing your story felt nostalgic to me." Then I draw my Glaive. " But right now, there's a lot I wanna say to your lord, Ines. So I'll give you my best and push you aside."

"Very well. Show me your newfound resolve. You as well, Duvalie!" Ines nodded as a pair of archaisms appeared behind her. "I am Ines the Stout. My lord granted me that title, and I will repay her by living up to it! I am the wall you cannot overcome! The fortress you will crush upon! Now! To battle!"
The same thing happen. I begin to use my craft and pulled both Ines and the archaisms onto us and then strike them as Duvalie follow up and damage one of the Archaisms. Ines swirls her Helbard and then begin to strike at all of us and the Archaisms begin to launch a shield attack. Juna use her craft and strike at the Archaisms with Crow firing at them. And then Duvalie use her craft and then landed some freezing slashes while Ines shake the floor with her craft and then archaisms slashes and bullets at us which we dodge and repel. I summon Luka and he fire a magical blast onto the three and both Archaisms broke into pieces and then Rean vortex hellfire slash Ines and follow up by Juna attack. Ines power up but then soon we all land our strong strikes onto her with our crafts and then Duvalie strike her and unbalance her.
"Sullivan, your assistance!" Duvalie quoted.
"Roger that!" I replied and me and Duvalie swift and struck at Ines and Ines was down after a hard-fought battle.

"Gh...I'm truly impressed you were able to make this far." Ines said. "Duvalie, your blade hasn't lost its edge even after leaving us. If anything, it has only become sharper."
"That's because the entire time I was away, I never lost sight of our lord's teachings, or forgot the experiences I had alongside you and Ennea." Duvalie replied. "When this is all over, would you spar with me once more?"
"Heh, gladly. And you, Levi. I felt your resolve and determination in your strength, perhaps you are worthy of hearing my lord's answer. Go forth, and good luck… Class Vll."
She then fell to the side, no doubt exhausted from the battle.
"She's really is high-principled, isn't she?" Juna asked. "It's pretty crazy that she started out as a bracer but then joined the society, though."
"But I never imagined that you had quite a story, Levi." Cedric said to me. "I know you don't like typical nobility but to think your involvement with your master is something I did not expect. Then again, it does sounds like the type of work you do."
"My lord and I were rather curious what cause such an impressive but also mysterious incidents." Duvalie replied.
"And you knew about this instructor?" Juna asked
"Yeah. He told me a while back. I was shocked as the rest of you. But I understood why. He and his master really don't like typical nobility. And back then, he was worried about our options of him if he told us this. But no matter what kind of past, dark or no. It doesn't change who they are."
I smiled. "Thanks Rean. In any case. Didn't Toval and Sara said that donations and financial aid from outside parties is what kept the bracer guilds going?"
"Yeah. But some of their activities fall into a gray area- enough to occasionally make you question their commitment to justice."
"Yeah. Master told me that justice can also be an illusion. People follow justice in what they believed in. Some may even call blind faith. Justice is a feeble and weak concept, and it's shaped by who sits on top. There is no light path that always leads to good, nor dark path that leads to evil. All that matters are the choices we make—especially the hard ones. And in war, there is no such thing as a clean win as well."
"Your master has quite the wisdom. Although there are some I do agreed with him." Duvalie nodded. "Justice is an idiosyncratic pursuit. Our ideas may differ, and mine may even be at odds with my lord's But this is what I've come here to confirm."
"That's what we all want- the truth." Rean nodded.
"You guys done?" Crow asked. "The path's wide open. Let's mosey!"
We passed through the second section and up a lift that took us to the third and last section, where at the end of the altar area, was Lianne herself and her Divine Knight.
"My Lord!" Duvalie called as we stopped several feet away from her.
"I've been expecting you, Duvalie, and Class VII." Lianne replied as she turn around.

"She's wearing her helmet." Rean said.
I frowned at him. "You don't say… it was pretty obvious."
"My lord, why are you covering your face?" Duvalie asked.
"The one who stands before you now is not Lianne Sandlot." Lianne answered. "Instead, it is the Seventh Anguis of Ouroboros. The faceless Awakener of the Argent Knight. I welcome you as a fellow challenger in the Rivalry."
"You seek to face us simply another Awakener…" Laura trailed off.
"So that's what you've decided." Crow respond.
"My lord..." Duvalie muttered.
"Before we start, there are subjects we like to discuss with you." I paused before nodding at Rean.
"We learned about your past at the Luna Shrine." Rean added. "You died 250 years ago in the War of the Lions, but rose as an Immortal. You found out about the curse that plagued Emperor Dreichels and waited two centuries for his reincarnation. You've experienced so many things throughout your life. You know what true evil looks like. So why did you join Ouroboros 20 years ago? Why are you helping them destroy the world?!"
"The truth is simpler than you may think." Lianne answered. "To put it frankly, it's all because of my pride, my regret, and something in my heart I could not throw away."
"I don't understand." Duvalie said.

"In his later years, Dreichels told me of the darkness which had been eating away at him. It started tormenting him after the War of the Lions, causing him decades of anguish. He feared it would never leave him, that it would haunt his soul for all eternity. I searched for his reincarnation to ensure his fears would not come to pass. And eventually I found him. He was already a well-respected man with a high position in the military. He had a wife and child. I observed him for some time, and was relieved to see no trace of that sinister darkness."
"So you were a lone wanderer before joining them." I said.
Lianne nodded. "At about this time, I received an invitation from Ouroboros's leader. Though I had no intention of joining the society, I went to hear them out. It was there, that I was told of an imminent catastrophe that would befall the world. It seemed no sooner had I breathed a sigh of relief, reassured that my fears were unfounded when that vile darkness emerged anew. I attempted to intervene, but by the time I arrived, it was far too late. That's when I made my decision. I would join Ouroboros as an Anguis and aid them with the Phantasmal Blaze Plan."
"And after that, you found and recruited three girls, and formed a group called the Stahlritter?"
"Yes. She did." Duvalie replied.
"Indeed. I would take part in the Rivalries and defeat the other five candidates, absorbing their power. As well as the addiction of taking you with me Levi." Lianne continued. "All so that I might destroy the root of all evil, Ishmelga."
"And that's why… " I replied. "You were looking for me. Because you needed my power to destroy Ishmelga."
"Indeed. Your power holds radiant that can purge evil. In addition. You are able to merge with the Divine Knight and share your power and prevent things like possession. With you by my side. Everything will progress accordingly. It would had cause an uproar if you suddenly disappeared while you were in your school life. For a sheltered boy to be forced again into shelter because of me. I would had robbed you of your freedom. When we met that day on my old castle. It was clear to me it was fate that brought you back to my attention. But before I knew all of this. I knew you were somewhat special. But your protector snatch you away before I have a chance to learn more about you. If I had learned back then of your powers, you and I can vanquish Ishmelga together, once and for all Levi."
I look the other way in sadness.
"I have never forgotten your radiant presence that day. When your school life was to be over. I had time to think about how I should approach you. But at the same time… I also worried about you."
Worried… about me? Oh… I get it.
"Worried about Levi?" Rean asked.
"Oh… I get it." I sighed. "If you and I met back then… you would have told me about your plan. And if I accept to help you… that means I would betray Class VII… just like how Claire has… as well as the others who follow Osborne for the Great Twilight."
"Levi…"
"What incredible resolve…" Laura trailed off.
"Fool! Why did you not tell me?!" Roselia suddenly appeared. "How could I just sit and watch from afar? Lianne, why? Why did you not confide in me? You, and Dreichels both! If he was suffering under a curse, he should have come to me!"
"He said to me that it was something we humans had brought upon ourselves." Lianne replied. "Were we to continue to foist our problems onto you, we would only be repeating the mistakes humanity made with the Sept-Terrion. That, and he claimed it would not be very becoming for an old, stubborn man like him to go begging for help."
So it was a matter of pride, just like she said.
"As for me, this all came about because of my own stubbornness. How could I possibly take such a selfish burden and place its weight on the shoulders of my dear friend?"
"Two of you...are such hopeless fools." Roselia said. "No...I am the foolish one, for not realizing what you struggled with."

"This isn't the time for regrets, you two!" I intervene. "We all go through moments like this. Of where we regret something from the past, it's what we all do, no matter the form. But that is all the more reason why there is always a chance to make amends. Think about it. You help out with Prince Cedric Rivalry, right?"
She blinked at me.
"As for you, Lianne. This is the other thing I wanna know, do you regret bringing in Duvalie, Ennea and Ines to be your loyal subordinates? Was bringing them all up to know about chivalry, honor and devotion to the way of the Stahlritter, just a waste of time? I understand why you were looking for me. And I understand your actions. And I believe Duvalie also notice this too. You were motivated by loyalty to the one you love- no… you sacrifice yourself to protect the future for the entire Empire. You never wanted to bring the Great Twilight… you went along for the sake of your true goal. Win all the Rivalries and destroy Ishmelga."
"He's right, my lord." Duvalie said. "In the eight years I've fought by your side, I've witnessed your sense of justice and boundless compassion. You value kindness and loving one's life with honor more than anything else. There's no way someone as virtuous as you would ever want to end the world. Regret? Pride? I'm sure those feelings were part of your decision. But your compassion far outweighs those. And knowing you like I do, 'compassion' may not be a strong enough word. If I may speak plainly...you have made a serious mistake. The Great Twilight involves all of us. You were wrong to think you needed to bear that burden alone. You have me, Ines, and Ennea! And not just us. Everyone here- Levi, Schwarzer, Prince Cedric, Class VII, all of Thors is working together towards the same goal."
Lianne then removed her helmet. "It's been eight years since I took you in, I knew a day like this might come eventually. But I never thought I would see those eyes of yours so filled with resolve."
"My lord..."
"And Levi, it has been many years since I was questioned on whether I regret training my knights. I assure you, that every moment I trained them...I never once regretted it. They were the moments that gave me the hope that one day, I could finally end Dreichels eternal suffering."
"Yeah, I thought so." I sighed. "Well, I can relate to that in a way. But if you ask me, I think it's you that needs help with ending the suffering you've had to bear for so long. And that is why. We will end your suffering. We will end Dreichel's suffering, in your place. We will end the suffering Ishmelga has done for so long together. United as one flag. We will be the light that outshines the darkness. We will be the wings of freedom and salvation, for the sake of those who suffer for so very long. Because that is what we are, the Radiant Wings of the World!"
"Levi…" Rean smiled.
"Levi…" Duvalie smiled.
Lianne let out a small chuckled. "You turn out to be just like how he wanted."
"Huh?" I eyebrow in confusion. He?
"Very well. But do all of you have the strength to match that resolve?"

"You have a noble heart, Sullivan, but I shall speak plainly as well. You have no idea the true horror you face. The twisted darkness of the Ebon Knights and its thousand-year curse. The snake that devours the world has begin to stir, and the Great Twilight nears its zenith. There is no time- the situation is dire."
"Oh, I'm aware." I draw out my Glaive and then unleash my full silver aura that shakes the shrine just as Lianne did.
"Whoa!" Rean exclaimed
And then I also resonate with the Shrine.
"You…!" Lianne respond in shocked
"I know what Ishmelga has done. How much suffering he has caused because of his curse." I said "The victim he used, the people who are affected right now, into his game. And the fate of the Awakeners. All the things he did, he will not be forgiven. And that is why… I… no… That is why we will show you our resolve. And I'll show you that I can be as powerful as a Divine Knight!"

"They're both resonating with the shrine." Roselia said.
Rean drew out his sword. "Levi is right. If we want to show her our resolve, we must show her we have he strength to match that resolve. And that we'll be the ones who will reach the Ebon Knight!" Then he use his powers "We need to put everything on the line here!"
"That's right. The Maiden show us her determination. The willpower that kept her going for centuries." I nodded "If we don't fight like our lives depend on it, we'll never make it to the end of the Rivalries. So we need to show her that we can match that resolve!"

I link up with Rean this time and then he and I charge with Lianne together and then we begin to clash with everyone else. Lianne landed a powerful charge on us but I evade it and leap over her attack, and then landed a radiant slash onto her as she was slightly pushed back, and then as everyone us use their attacks onto her. Arianrhod then call forth thunder onto everyone. And then I Luminescence Rain onto the battle and then Lianne then defend herself. But then I Laura user her craft and then land a heavy blow onto her, and then Rean use his Crescent slash onto Arianrhod. I begin to cast Arts onto Arianrhod and deliver a devastating blow. And as everyone landed attacks onto her. Arianrhod push us back and then landed a powerful attack onto me, Duvalie, and Rean. But we stand strong. And then I begin to use Primordial Storm and Rean follow up as he crimson slash her. Crow land his strong craft along with Juna. Arianrhod then land her jab attack onto use and push us back and follow up a lance technique onto us. I use Penetrate Hurl then leap and then swirl into the air and then send it down and cause an explosion to push her back. And then Duvalie use her critical strike skills and then strike at Lianne. I landed and Lianne charge a powerful jab onto everyone nearby and then follow up with a swing slash and push us off. And then she power up and landed her S craft onto us. Landing a devastating blow onto us. But However. We continue to get up and then we resume our battle. I begin to cast my Arts onto her and Rean zoom towards Lianne. And then I follow up and then Lianne push us back along with Rean. And then as everyone else landed their crafts onto her. Me and Rean charge onto Lianne together. I crafted after imagines with Rean as we warp around Lianne with phantom slashes and then turn it into a tornado. Lianne launched a powerful swing and push us back. And then she launched a powerful dash to the others. We all taken turns clashing onto Lianne as she was in perfect form. Pushing and striking on back. Soon Lianne power up and then launch her S craft again. As we were push back. Rean launched his S craft onto Lianne. Duvalie also launch her S craft onto her. As everyone else land their S craft onto Lianne. She was push back with devastating blows. But she is tough as her title as the Steel Maiden and thanks to the Shrine she resonates. As I power up. I then charge at Lianne and then we both clash at each other. We launched powerful slashes and strikes. Pushing each other back. Rean and the others charge together as Lianne call forth thunder. As some of us got attack. Crow launched a powerful Craft. Laura with her powerful craft. Ash with a powerful slam. Altina healed us. Rean's Hexil. And Cedric's new Craft as she shoot golden firey arrows onto Liane, Causing a powerful explosion. Lianne stood strong. I begin to use my S craft onto her. As she was push back by that. She power up. Then I begin to power up too.
"HYAAAAAAAAH!" Both Me and Lianne charge at each other with warcry.
We clash and cause shockwave that push our allies as well. Then a large cling was heard as me and Lianne pass through each other. Then something fall on the floor. It was half of Lianne's lance. Lianne was shocked to see half of her Lance was cut in half. The battle was over once the aura from Lianne is gone.
"Her lance!" Rean exclaimed.
"It was cut in half..." Roselia added
"W-we did it." Juna said.
"Don't be so hasty! We've only just begun!" Duvalie warned. "We won't lose to you, my lord!"

That was when the area was covered in a swirl, it was time again.
"Looks like it's time." I said.
"Let's begin, Argreion." Lianne said.

She went into her Divine Knight.
"Let them take it from here, Duvalie." I said. "There's nothing more we can do."
"Okay, they better not disappoint us." Duvalie replied.
"Hehe. I'm sure they won't." 'Rean, Crow, Cedric… get through to her.'
The rest of us moved away.
"Lianne has been piloting that knight for 250 years. Do not take her lightly!" Roselia warned
"Heed my call-Valimar!" Rean shout

Their Divine Knights appeared. Then Rean, Crow and Cedric went inside their Divine Knights. The Rivalry battle has began.
"I have not had the chance to battle other Divine Knights since our meeting at the Workship." Lianne said. "That sword of yours. It has change since we last encounter. I can sense that girl's presence within."
"Yes. It is thank to a certain individual that broke the curse that bound her and Valimar. And for their sake, we can't afford to lose now!"
"You ready Steel Maiden?! We're gonna go full force!" Crow added
"We'll give it everything we got!" Cedric nodded.
"I admire that spirit. I will not hold back, either. Bring to bear all the strength you used to best the Jaeger King!" Lianne commanded
Then the Divine Knights charge at each other into a epic clash. Just like how it happen with Rutger. They all launched powerful attacks onto each other. Lianne with her Crafts, calling in lighting. Cedric launched his attacks as Rean and Crow did the same. But the battle is more difficult. Lianne was launch a powerful attack and push them back. Crow launched a strong attack back but Lianne dodge. However, Cedric slash through and follow up. Rean then attack and strike Lianne. Lianne launched a powerful trust attack onto Crow and push him back. Then Rean launched a Hexil and follow up. Cedric launched a powerful trust attack. Lianne hold her guard and then prepared a counter attack and then launched that S craft. Rean and the others taken heavy damage. But they didn't fall. Soon Lianne prepared another attack. However, Crow cancel that attack out and Let Cedric attack. This allow them to perform a powerful team attack onto her. It push her back as she ready for another attack. The clash continue to echoe. Rean prepared an attack. Lianne launched a powerful attack but Rean parry her. Then use Enlighten domination on her. Crow launched an attack and follow up with his special attack. And then adding Cedric with his thousand weapons attack. Lianne launched a powerful attack on them and follow up. Then follow up again and launched an even greater attack against. However, then Rean launched a Hexil and then perform a team attack. That attack cause immense damage. Lianne dropped her lance and then she was defeated. Her Lance disappeared It looked more difficult, but the Rivalry was over, and Rean, Cedric and Crow were the winners.
"They did it!" Juna exclaimed.
"They surpassed Lianne..." Roselia added before looking at me. "But that means..."
"Yeah…" I look at her sadden.
"So that's the power of 250 years of training." Rean panted.
"No kidding...the Steel Maiden...no, Lianne Sandlot is one hell of a fighter." Crow said.
"Well… she… isn't called the Lance Maiden for a reason." Cedric stated
"Well done, Ashen, Azure, and Vermilion Awakeners." Lianne praised.

Her Divine Knight became transparent.
"MY LORD!" Duvalie yelled as she rushed over to her as did the rest of us.
"Now, the Ashen Knight will absorb the Argent Knight's power. Adding this newfound strength to which you won from the Palatinate Knight, you now have a significant advantage in the Rivalries. But it will not guarantee your victory against the Ebon Knight. So long as you have Levi Sullivan. You have that chance." Lianne said.
"What are you saying?" Cedric asked in surprised
"Hold on. You don't mean…" Crow respond in surprised.
"Was this part of your plan all along? To give us your power so that we'd have a fighting chance against Ishmelga?" Rean asked.
"No, I assure you, I fought with every ounce of strength I had." Lianne replied. "You simply proved to be the more powerful. All due to your trust in yourself and your allies. Between the strength Lady Le Quin, Levi, and now Duvalie have shown me. I feel as though I'm seeing the dawn of a new era."

"The Jaeger King may have been tricked into becoming an Awakener, but you're different. You made this choice yourself!" Rean stated

"No. All legends must have an end. It's time to lay you to rest." Then suddenly Rufus's voice was heard.
I gasped as I suddenly sense him getting closer.
"LOOK OUT!" I shout out as I awaken my power and zoom fast as suddenly Rufus's appeared behind and tried to stab Lianne's Knight.

I thought it was too late but suddenly a barrier protecting Lianne's Divine Knight which throw Rufus's off balance and I was pushed back to the ground.
"Urgh! What was-" Rufus said as he look and then we all see Liam suddenly behind the Argent Knight's back and the barrier was formed from his hand. Liam unleashed a powerful swipe attack on Rufus's Divine Knight and even added laser beam and pierce through the Divine Knight to push him back. "UUUUGH!"
"Rufus Albarea." Liam said as he sounded displeased in a calmer manner. "What is the meaning of this?"
"Ugh…" Rufus on his Divine Knight got up. "Lord Liam… why did you-" Then suddenly Liam lifted El-Prado and it seems by the neck. "Nnrh!"
"Rufus?!" Crow asked.
"What is he doing here?" Rean added.
"What is the meaning of this, Rufus Albarea?!" Lianne asked.
"That was my question that I ask first. Explain yourself Rufus. Did you intend to steal the Argent's knight power from a duel?" Liam asked in a angry yet calm manner.
"Lord Liam, why did you stop me… Why did you inter-" Then Liam shoot a magic beam on the Auric Knight's torso. "GRUUUUH!"
"You will answer me Rufus. NOW!" Then Liam angry voice boom the sanctuary.
Whoa… he's pretty pissed… And then soon everyone show up.
"What's going on?" Ennea asked as she look around.
"Everyone!" Juna called out.
"You're here!" Rean added
"I was planning to take the spoils, because they were all in here for too long." Rufus answered. "But why are you here? Why did you interfere? Do you realize what you have done?"
"Of course I am aware. However. Do you truly think I will allow such disgraceful actions on my watch?" Liam then slam Rufus's divine knight hard. "I am here to act as a referee for the Rivalry. To make sure no foul play and interference occurred under my watch. I did not help you gain the Auric Knight just so you can steal the Argent's Knights power from the victor's hand. In addition to that, I will not allow a dishonorable death to happen."
"You dare claim to take my life and to take the Argent's Knights power? This power was rewarded to the Ashen Knight! It is within his right!" Lianne growled.
"Indeed, but I didn't account Lord Liam would oversee this. Rean Schwarzer was supposed to take its power. That is the whole point of the Rivalry. And if he does not what it. Who am I going to let it go to waste. As after all, the great war of this era is about to begin. Old legends from bygone days have no place here."
"You make me sick…" Jusis growled
"You rotten imbecilic…" I growled as my power awaken and unleash a death glare on Rufus. "How dare you commit such an act! You had no right to take it when it belongs to Rean! He is to do with it as he pleased! For your action. I will make you pay!"
"Yes." Liam said. "In addition to that. I would have revoked your right as El-Prado's Awakener and you will die by his hand. However. If that were to happen, then everything we work this far would have been ruined. And we have no time for a replacement." Liam then use his powers and then lifted Rufus into the air. "I will spare you. You are free to go and resume our plan. Consider yourself lucky, Rufus. But let me warn you. You are free to report this to Osborne. But he know he can't do anything about it. You, Alberich and he know very well what happens if you were to anger me. Do I make myself clear?"
Liam then let go of Rufus Divine Knight got back up and then flew upward. "I am fully aware. Even I am smart enough not to anger you. Very well. Awakeners, your time is swiftly running out. Soon, the omens will appear and Operation Jormungandr will begin tomorrow. All the preparations for the war have been finished. Supreme Commander Vandyck will see to the rest. I will be waiting for you alongside His Excellency at the final stage. I look forward to finishing our little talk there."

He then flew off and disappeared. Leaving us wondering where the final stage would be. Then Liam landed.

"Lianne. There's no need to hide in there now."
"I know…" Lianne said as she came out of her Divine Knight. She turn to Liam who still not looking at us. "Thank you for saving me… and to prevent the Argent's Knight's power from being stolen, Liam."
"There's no need to thank me. Anyone who has the power can do what I just did. I will not forgive such actions. He will be punished soon enough. But he must live to atone for his crimes. If you wish to repay me Lianne. You will start by leaving Ouroboro's now. And join forces with the Radiant Wings."
And that surprised us.
"In a few moments, the Kinship Ritual will be complete. Your body will be restored. Just like how it was with Crow. You will be borrowing time. The Argent Knight will only have half of the power after all. In addition. You share the same goal as them. You will set Drechel's soul free from Ishmelga by allying yourself with the Radiant Wings. Your strength along with the Argent's Knight is their strength now after all. That includes the Rivalry with Rufus. Plus, this might be a good chance to make it up to Rose. And among other things for lost time sake. Plus... you all have to prepare for the upcoming." Liam turn around and wink at us then he teleported away.
And then Lianne's body was restored. Just like how it was with Crow.
"My lord!" Duvalie ran up to her.
Lianne couldn't help but laugh.
"Liam… you truly are a kind and clever one." Lianne got up.
"Lianne…" Rose was in tears of joy.
"Forgive me for all the trouble I cause you all. But it is as Liam said… my strength along with the Argent's Knight's power is your strength now."
Then a flash of light engulf us.
I'm sure many of you agreed that what Rufus just did was not only so horrific, and unforgivable but disrespectful. Stabbing Lianne when her guard was done and giving her a dishonorable death. That just left a bad taste in my mouth. So I put a stop to that. And now the Radiant Wings has a new ally now! Someone so incredible at their side. Next chapter, we will be in Mishelam! This one will be a special night! Oh yeah. What will happen on this special night? Will something special will happen to Levi?
