Hey guys! So I know I've been procrastinating with MHA reacts to Half-Life, but I'm lazy and unmotivated to write that right now so you get this!

I own neither properties in this fic. If I did I wouldn't be here.

Chapter 1: Entanglement

For once, the Class 1-A dorms were peaceful. No one was being loud and obnoxious, no big school events that they had to prepare for, just relaxing on a nice weekend. Izuku sighed contently as he laid on his bed, just basking in the peace while he still could. God knows he deserves it; after all he and his class have been through during the first semester alone, not even counting this current semester.

That was, until a knock came from his door. Annoyed, he sat up and called out to the person at the door.

"Who is it?"

"Yo, Midoriya! We're going to the mall in a bit, wanna come?" It was Kaminari's voice, of course.

"Yeah, just let me get ready first. I'll be out there in a few minutes," the emerald-haired boy called out to his classmate as he got out of bed, got dressed in whatever clothes he found in his drawer, and headed out of his dorm room to meet the others.

Meanwhile, in downtown Mustafu, a familiar scientist and his two friends, the daughter of his old colleague in Black Mesa and a former security guard from the same place, were walking through the city while trying to make sense of their situation.

"It still doesn't make sense. One second we were fighting Combine on the Borealis, then we see a bright light and next thing we know we're in what seems to be another universe." The young woman, Alyx, said as she turned to the other two people on her left.

"Yeah, and to top it all off a lot of people seem to be some kind of mutants or something!" Barney, the former security guard, voiced his incredible observations to the group before mumbling to himself, "At least there don't seem to be any of those...things here."

The scientist smiled to himself at that fact. No aliens coming to kill them, no military - otherworldly or otherwise - also trying to hunt and kill them. For once, he could relax and take a breather that lasted for more than a few minutes. He still had his crowbar selected on his HEV hud, just in case.

How the hell did Black Mesa even make that technology in the first place? He had an arsenal that could rival a platoon and more ammo than any human should be capable of carrying all in what the other scientists called his suit's storage system. He felt like that name was greatly overlooking how much of a technical marvel this was; being able to not only put weapons and ammo away at will, but also being able to summon them in his hands with as little as a thought was something he just couldn't get over! Imagine if they made this kind of tech available to the public! It would've made moving from MIT to Black Mesa so much easier!

Wait what was he thinking about again? Oh yeah, being in another world and stuff.

Even though he had been sent to completely unfamiliar worlds twice now, he still felt disoriented at being sent to another world again. He thought he would've been used to it by now, but apparently not. And he still doesn't have that beer that Barney owes him-

"Hey, what are those TVs showing?" Alyx interrupted Gordon's thought processes as she pointed out a bunch of TVs in the window of an electronics store showing what appeared to be the local news.

"...and while a few people were injured in the fire that occurred at the post office last night, many more were saved from what could've been an untimely death by the brave heroes that showed up on the scene." The screen then showed choppy videos of odd-looking people in what looked like superhero cosplays shooting water from their bodies and helping citizens out of the burning building.

"So...is it safe to say that I was right in saying that this was like those superhero comic books?" Barney said, breaking the silence between the group as they all looked at the TVs in awe. Superheroes were a real thing in this version of Earth, which was...definitely not surprising, seeing as a lot of the people they've seen here seem to have some type of supernatural ability.

"Looks like you'll fit right in, Gordon. People all over our world already think you're a hero," Alyx remarked as she wrapped her left arm around Gordon's shoulders.

"Except for the fact that we technically don't exist here since we're not in any of their databases or whatever," Barney then added onto Alyx's comment, causing them all to simultaneously start screaming internally at that considerably large detail that they somehow forgot all about.

They need to get back home ASAP.

As Izuku stepped out to the common room, he could see and hear his classmates chatting about various things. He smiled at the sight as he walked toward his friends Iida and Uraraka.

"Hey guys! So when are we going to the mall?"

"Ah, Midoriya! We are just about to leave now that everyone has arrived. Bakugo still isn't coming this time, but Todoroki has agreed to come with us," The class president, Iida, said to him. "Hopefully, we don't have any other villain encounters this time."

Izuku chuckled nervously as he remembered the last time he and his friends went to the mall. Although he's certain that the League wouldn't try anything today, he made a mental note to just stay with a group so that they can watch each other's backs.

"It's alright Deku. Iida and I will stay with you so you feel safe," Uraraka reassured him while smiling sweetly at the boy, "and before you ask, you did say that out loud."

And with that, Iida got the class together and they exited Heights Alliance to head out to the mall.

Today seems to be a good day after all.

He didn't know how long he had been in this Osprey for. It felt like he had been there for years, but at the same time it also felt like he had just gotten there. He had also finished his chocolate bar long ago, which was sad. That's besides the point, however, Adrian wanted off and he wanted off now.

He felt like drifting off to sleep again when the weird briefcase guy once again appeared in front of the corporal. Still looking the same as when he put Adrian in this void Osprey. The man dusted off his suit and adjusted his tie before speaking.

"Adrian Shephard...I do apologize for taking this long to get back to you. I had some more...important matters to deal with beforehand."

God he hated the way this guy spoke. Always so raspy and inhuman, but at the same time it was just like how some people probably spoke. He was also very fluent in English, so Adrian could at least understand what it was saying.

"One of my clients has been...unexpectedly unable to do his job due to forces beyond our...control. I just need you to ensure his and his allies' safety while I handle some other...important business. I am sure that you will understand that I am a busy man, after all. As for the client that you will be watching over...I am sure that you will know once you see him."

The strange man then summoned what appeared to be a doorway to another void, but this time pure white, and turned to walk through it before facing Shephard one last time.

"In the meantime, Mr. Shephard, I will see you on the road ahead," that was the last thing the man said before walking through the door.

Before Shephard could question about the person he's supposed to watch, everything outside the Osprey flashed a blinding white before just as quickly fading to a hillside. One that appeared to be blooming with bright and colorful plant life. The hill itself facing the ocean and a shore that had a lot of ships docked. He honestly thought he'd never see something like this again after Black Mesa, but he'd have time to enjoy the scene later. Looking back inside the Osprey he saw three boxes that were supposedly supplies he'd need for the mission.

Before he could open the boxes and investigate what was inside, however, he heard a voice call out to him.

"E-excuse me, mister," Adrian turned to see that the voice belonged to a small child. A boy no more than 5 years old looked up at him, "H-how did you just appear like that?"

...

Shit.

So...what do you guys think? Make sure to leave your reviews of the story and advice on how to make my stories better.

Now to address the lack of updates on my MHA plays Half-Life story...I just don't feel like writing that story right now. I'm sure I can get motivation for it again sometime down the road, but for now take this as your food.

In the meantime, see ya when I see ya!
