Harvey holds his wife's hand in his own as they leave the hospital, Louis and the newest member of their family.
Wife. Harvey thinks as he looks at Donna who has worn a permanent smile on her face since Stan pronounced them husband and wife.
15 years ago, Harvey thought he'd never find love, he'd never considered marriage, not after what his mother put him through his childhood, but then Donna entered his life and from the minute he met her in that bar, he knew that she was the one, the one who would break through his walls, who'd call him out on his bullshit, who wouldn't hesitate in putting him in his place, who would comfort him, he knew Donna was the one he'd marry and spend the rest of his life making her feel loved, safe and protected, the same way she's made him feel for the past 15 years.
"Harvey, are you okay? You look lost in thought." His wife says, bringing him out of his thoughts. Harvey stops walking and turns to his wife, cupping her face in his hands, staring into her beautiful, bambi eyes.
"Just thinking about the last 15 years we've had together. You broke my walls that I had shielded around my heart. I didn't think it was possible for me to fall in love but you somehow made me love you the minute your beautiful brown eyes found mine. I love you, Donna Specter-Paulsen." Harvey tells the love of his life softly before kissing her lips. Donna smiles into the kiss.
"I love you too, Harvey, but we need to get back to the firm, they need us." Donna says as she pulls away from her husband who nods and retakes her hand and leads her to the limo that's waiting for them outside the hospital to them back home for one last time.
Donna clutches her husband's hand tightly as they exit the elevator on the fiftieth floor of their second home.
Pop!
The sound of confetti poppers explode onto Harvey and Donna as they exit the elevator, followed by the popping of champagne corks, champagne covering them, and the sounds of their family cheering and clapping.
"There they are!" Mike cheers with a smile on his face. Donna looks at their puppy and screams as she spots her best friend running up to her, screaming as they both throw their arms around each other.
"You're a wifey!" Rachel screams in Donna's ear. Donna laughs as she pulls back slightly to look at her best friend.
"I'm a wifey!" Donna exclaims, both women jumping up and down like high schoolers, screaming, while their husbands and family watch with smiles on their faces: they all know how much Donna and Rachel have missed each other and are happy to let them be reunited.
"But wait," Donna begins, calming down slightly, looking at her best friend. "when and how did you get here?" Rachel rolls her eyes. "Your new husband flew me in just before you walked down the aisle, Mike recorded the ceremony for me, we always said that no matter what happens, we'd never miss each other's weddings, no matter how impromptu, and I didn't." The brunette beauty says. Donna's eyes well up with tears and embraces her best friend.
Donna pulls away from her best friend and hugs Samantha and Katrina, and Alex and Mike and Robert. Flutes of champagne are passed around the family, Mike, his arm around his wife's waist, raises his glass.
"I know this isn't a traditional wedding, but let's be honest: when have we, at Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett, ever been traditional?" Mike asks rhetorically, chuckles flow around the lobby.
"9 years ago, I was a drug dealer who was running away from the cops when I stumbled upon Harvey and Donna, who were interviewing associates, now I was a college dropout, a cheater, a liar, and I had no law degree and instead of calling the cops on me, Harvey gave me the job, even though I wasn't a lawyer, and from that day one, I knew that Harvey wasn't just my mentor, he was my big brother, just like Donna wasn't my friend, she was my big sister and thanks to them, I found love, I suffered losses, I was exposed, I was in prison, but through it all, my family have stayed with me through it all, members have left and came back while new members have joined, but one thing I can fucking say is that I wouldn't have this perfect, crazy, dysfunctional family if it were not for Donna Mighty Paulsen and Harvey Goddamn Specter!" Mike declared, raising his glass to the first members of his family, tears in his puppy dog blue eyes.
Donna and Harvey chuckle at their puppy's speech, tears in everyone's eyes. Rachel clears her throat and starts speaking.
"I'm not good at speeches, so I'll keep it brief: Donna, I can honestly say that I wouldn't be married to my wonderful husband if it weren't for you pushing us together, so thank you for giving me more than your friendship, you gave me a sister and a husband. Harvey, everyone knew that you'd end up with Donna at some point, we just didn't know how long it'd take for you to admit it! You protected me when Mike wasn't able to, you instantly made me a part of your family without hesitation. Thank you for letting me into your family. I love you both more than I can put into words."
Alex is next. "I've known Harvey for over 15 years and Donna for over two years but from the moment I stepped foot into this lobby, I knew this was family from the start. I'm honored to be a part of this wonderful family forever."
Katrina chuckles nervously before speaking. "Harvey, Donna, I just want to say that I love you and thank you for inviting me to your love story." She smiles before Samantha clears her throat and smirks at Harvey, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"We've been at each other's throats since we met, but we've had our brother/sister moments like ordering pizza at ten o'clock at night, you let me sleep on your office couch, you helped me release my anger, you were with me when I met my birth father and you were with me throughout the Faye ordeal. You know that I never had a family growing up, until I met Robert but his family didn't feel like family, not until I met you guys. Every family I've had was cut away from me far too quickly but this one hasn't because as Donna says: Firm is family forever and I believe that. I love you guys so much, congratulations on the wedding, I hope you're happy together, oh and Harvey, you hurt her even one time, if you even so much as make her cry, I won't hesitate in kicking your ass in the ring." Donna and Harvey chuckle at Samantha's threat, no doubt that she'll follow up on it. Robert clears his throat and smiles before looking at the newlyweds in front of him.
"You two helped my baby girl become a lawyer and made her fall in love with a fraud who became her husband and let her grow up when I wanted to keep her my baby forever. Thank you for letting my daughter know that no matter where she is, no matter what happens, she has a family within this firm." Donna and Harvey nod at their family before kissing each other's lips, Donna blushing when their family start clapping and cheering for them. Harvey looks at his wife who nods.
"I've known Donna Paulsen for over 15 years and before I met her, I had walls up around me that not even Jessica could break, but the second I laid my eyes on her in the bar when I was an ADA, she demolished those walls that I had shielded around my heart. I didn't think it was possible for me to fall in love but she somehow made me love her the minute her beautiful brown eyes found mine. Thank you for putting up with me for all these years and thank you for agreeing to become my wife." Harvey says, his eyes not leaving his beautiful wife. Donna gives a watery laugh and looks around at her family.
"We have something else to tell you guys." Donna says. "Oh god you're not pregnant are you? Because we barely handle big Harvey, imagine what a little Harvey will be like." Samantha teases, laughing along with her newfound family, Harvey playfully rolls his brown eyes at the stubborn blonde lawyer and smiles fondly at her.
"No we're not pregnant, yet, but this is a life changing decision that we've made: me and Harvey are moving to Seattle to help Mike and Rachel run the firm there." Donna gets out quickly.
The lobby is in a stunned silence for a few minutes before Rachel squeals and runs to Donna and Harvey, enveloping them into a joint hug. Soon after Rachel's squeal, the rest of the firm family all break out into smiles, happy for the newly wedded couple.
"Well wherever you are, you'll always have a home here." Robert says after he releases Donna from a hug and hugging his daughter and his son in law.
"It looks like we're all having new beginnings." Alex says, motioning the wall behind Donna and Harvey that shows the new name of the firm. "Donna and Harvey are married, moving away from home, Louis is married and a dad, and we've got another name partner." Alex says, sipping his champagne.
"To new beginnings!" Harvey cheers, raising his glass.
"To new beginnings!" The rest of the firm say in unison.
"Wait!" Rachel exclaims, putting her glass of champagne on the receptionist desk.
"I've got something to tell you all." The brunette says, looking at her husband, a vibrant smile on her face.
"I'm pregnant." Rachel says. Mikes eyes widen and he laughs.
"Seriously?" He asks his wife, tears welling up in his eyes. Harvey grabs his wife's hand and beams at their grown up puppy. Rachel nods. "Yes!" Mike kisses her before swinging her around. After Mike's puts his wife on the floor, Robert embraces his daughter. The rest of the Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett family cheer for the soon-to-be parents.
After the rest of the family have hugged and congratulated Mike and Rachel, Harvey and Donna crush the expectant parents into a joint hug, Harvey kisses Rachel's forehead and claps Mike on his shoulder.
"Congratulations, guys, we know you'll be amazing parents." Harvey says, stepping away from his surrogate brother and sister.
Harvey wraps his arms around his wife's waist and holds her close as they just watch their family be a real family.
It just goes to show that no matter what happens, good or bad, if there's a difficult client, a new member of the family, a loss, a lawsuit against one of their own, family is there through it all, no matter how crazy or spontaneous something is, you can always count on family to be by your side through it all.
