The streets were lights, the skies were cloudy in Volterra. The town was rich with history and lore surrounding vampires and beings that don't age and once were regarded as gods. The town seemed to have a lot of celebrations. It was midsummer, the skies were heavy and thick with impending rain. That didn't stop the people.
The people of Volterra were full of life and celebration, always it seemed like.

The group I was with was no where to be seen. Throngs of people filled the street in bright colors as if their bodies were all looked the same and I began to panic a bit. I looked ahead of the street which was a small incline, there was a clock tower.
'They'll come looking for me here' I said to myself, reassuring myself slightly for a split second. I moved through the crowd. As I made my way to the center I found myself turning around and walking backwards. Now that I was on a slight incline, I was hoping I could find my friends. I searched where each of the streets met the square, no luck. Thud I stumbled back, running in to something hard. I felt my ears get hot and my cheeks flushing.
"I…uhh…" I turned,I stammered. It was a man, he was dressed differently from the rest of the people. His clothes were all black. A collared shirt and long sleeves and straight balck pants; strange for the summer time. He was wearing sunglasses, you could barely see his eyes, his hair jet black and long and..beautiful? Crap trouble always finds me. I noticed his brow furrowed, expecting me to say something more.
"Are you lost cara?" He suddenly spoke. I couldn't breathe. His voice was smooth like velvet melting me to my core, I was about to meltdown. 'Do I tell a strange man I'm lost?' He feels like a threat, but so bad I want to touch him, he feels safe. I wanted to feel safe with him, my brain screamed no.
"My friends are expecting me, they'll be looking for me", I failed to sound threatening as I trailed off. I took a step back.
I froze as he took my hand. I didn't want to offend him and pull away. I assumed it was just appropriate culturally here to…be close. I was dragged here with a friend… and friends of friends. 'It'll be a good time,' they said, 'it'll be fun' they said
He bent down to my level, 'don't tell me he's smelling me, someone help me, my god.'
"Y/N!" I whipped around, finally a distraction, finally they found man dropped my hand, my hand was..cold?
"y/n, we were looking all over for you!" It was Katerina who approached. "Who is this?"
"You must've been looking real hard," I seethed.
"Well aren't you going to introduce me to your boyfriend?" She turned to the man who was just holding my hand. "It's okay, she doesn't like people, I had to drag her here.
My stomach flopped, come on Katerina, let's get out of here.
She reached out for his hand, "My name is Katerina" god, was she flirting with this stranger
"Kat where are the rest of our group?" The man grabbed her hand, he was smiling, god he was beautiful. "KAT." I gently punched her side, "Focus"
"My name is Aro, ladies" I let out an exaggerated sigh at his response.
"Okay can we go now Kat?" She dropped his hand as I started dragging her away.
"What's your deal?" she protested as we made our distance from him
"Let's just go." I said firmly.
—-No ones POV—-
A blonde showed up next dressed the same as Aro.
"Were you going to feed off of them, my brother?" He spoke. Another long dark hair man showed up next to the two.
"No Caius, we can't feed in the city walls." Aro spoke.
"They weren't from around here, I could smell it."
"I know, the one smelled very sweet, the one they called Y/N" Aro replied, "She ran right in to me"
"It might be best if you both stop talking about draining her blood," The taller of the three spoke.
"Marcus, what did you see?" Aro reached out for kings hand, reading his thoughts with his gift. Aro's eyes focused on something that wasn't visible to you and I. His eyes widened at the information presented to him.
"She's the one…" Aro trailed off, announcing to Caius now what was going on
"She's so young, and a human at that. How can this be?" Caius was thinking out loud.
"I've already lost the love of my life.." Marcus gave up as well. Aro remained stubborn, curious and ready to conquer. Marcus was quick to be negative. Caius was quick to think of the worst of the situation. Aro was volatile and ready to discover new grounds. This Y/n they were bound to wasn't about to slip through their hands.
'They won't be so quick to walk away when they find out they have to sever a bond with y/n' Aro thought to himself. Severing a bond with another being was extremely painful to a vampire. Marcus wouldn't be able to take another painful experience as such. Caius would surely go mad…madder.
