(Invader - Jim Johnston)
Randy: The Kunoichi, the female ninja who is just as silent and deadly as she is beautiful. These two are all of the above, not to mention... well-endowed.
Greg: Kitana, the Edenian Princess from Mortal Kombat.
Randy: And Taki, Soul Calibur's demon hunting ninja. He's Greg and I'm Randy.
Greg: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find who would win... a DEATH BATTLE.
Kitana Gore-Nados DEATH BATTLE
(Theme Song - Mortal Kombat)
Greg and Randy: MORTAL KOMBAT! Dododo-dodododododo-dodododo!
Randy:...
Greg:...
Randy:... By the grace of Zeno, I think Vanessa's rubbed on us too much.
Greg: ... Yeah, I'll talk to her about this.. The Mortal Kombat tournament was a major event that saw many realms participate. As Outworld's power increased, the Elder Gods decreed they could not merge with another realm unless they achieved ten consecutive Mortal Kombat victories. Unfortunately, this was the fate for the most peaceful and prosperous realm of all, Edenia.
Randy: Outworld's ruler, Shao Kahn wrecked Edenia's champions ten times in a row, allowing him to merge Outworld with Edenia. If that wasn't enough, he decided to legitimize his rule by killing the current King, Jerrod, marrying Jerrod's wife Sindel, and becoming the stepfather of their daughter, Kitana.
Greg: Not long after, Sindel sacrificed her life to ward off Shao Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm. With both of her parents gone, and only Shao Kahn left to raise her, Kitana spent the next 10,000 years becoming one of Outworld's greatest assassins, loyally serving Shao Kahn for several millennia.
Popup: Although Kitana did not appear in the original Mortal Kombat, the 2011 reboot retroactively establishes Kitana as a tournament spectator.
Randy: And you better believe she became a top tier assassin, but secretly, Kitana plotted against Shao Kahn, although it took her a long time to figure out the truth, once she learned that Shao Kahn murdered her father, Kitana feigned her loyalty, hoping that thousands of years of being by his side would trick him into thinking they were allies. Kitana plotted her revenge whilst also hoping Edenia could one day be unmerged.

Randy: As an Edenian, Kitana possess superhuman strength, speed and durability. She's skilled in both armed and unarmed combat and has mastered two Chinese fighting styles; Eagle Claw and Ba Gua Zhang.
Greg: Eagle Claw focused around gripping techniques, pressure point combat, takedowns, and system of joint locks. Ba Gua Zhang where the user fights in open hand combat rather than closed fists. Kitana also has an array of weapons. Her famous one are her Steel Fans, where she can create wind and this is where Kitana really specializes her weapons in, Tessenjutsu; the martial art of the war fan.
Randy: She also uses close friend Jade's Bo Staff and Triblade after she slain by a resurrected Sindel.
Popup: Although Kitana dedicated use of Jade's weapons to her Mournful variant, she has far less experience with Jade's weapons as opposed to her own. She is also known to have carried Mileena's Sais.
Randy: But we're just getting to the best part. After all, we can't have a Mortal Kombat character without their signature Fatalities. Kiss of Death may not sound that bad, unless you see that in involves Kitana kissing her victim's head which causes them to inflate and explode.
Greg: Fan Slice simply decapitates the opponent whereas Scissor Split, Sonya's move which she copied, grabs the victim with her legs and raises them up before ripping their body into two parts with her legs. Fan Opener uses Kitana's Steel Fans to chop off the opponent's arms before slicing their head off at the jaw line as they drop to the ground.
Randy: Splitting Headache is where Kitana drives one of her fans into her opponent's body and opens it up, slicing through the front. She then does the same to the head, whereby the opponent collapses. Not impressed? Well Gore-Nado allows Kitana to use her fans to disembowels her opponents before Kitana spins to create a tornado that sucks out their guts.
Feats
Tricked Shao Kahn into thinking she was still his ally
Defeated and killed Mileena
Escaped prison after her mother's resurrection
Along with Jade, defeated Reptile
Freed her mother from Shao Kahn's grasp
Defeated Mileena multiple times
Participated in the war of Armageddon
Overpowered Smoke and Johnny Cage
Defeated Jade, Mileena and Shang Tsung
Would've killed Sareena if it wasn't for Jax's interference
Defeated Kung Jin, Takeda, and Jacqui Briggs
Became the empress of the Netherrealm
Greg: With all this, it's no wonder Kitana ended up being a major player in the grand scheme of things. She's defeated plenty of powerful characters, like Smoke, Johnny Cage, Jade, Mileena and even the cunning Shang Tsung. And that guy can just steal people's souls! And given that she's more than just the average Mortal Kombat character, she can likely achieve similar feats as others.
Greg: In particular Kabal and Johnny Cage. Kabal was able to move fast enough to parry machine gun fire, accomplishing this means Kabal moved at almost Mach 3 speeds to pull it off. As for Johnny, he survived an attack from Oni Warlords that were capable of destructive feats worth 2.5 tons of TNT.
Randy: And perhaps Kitana's most impressive feat is defeating Shao Kahn. See, Kronika, the Keeper of Time, was trying to restart the entire Mortal Kombat timeline, so she ended up bringing past versions of certain characters to the present, which included Kitana. And after Shao Kahn bested his replacement, Kotal Kahn, Kitana was able to overwhelm Shao, blinding him, putting him out of commission.
Greg: Although keep in mind, this wasn't Shao Kahn at his strongest, so Kitana isn't on the same level of power as her stepfather. Nevertheless, the victory not only saw Kitana get her revenge, but Kotal Kahn recognized Kitana as his successor, and thusly she had become Kitana Kahn, the fifth Kahn ever crowned. And she united both the Tarkatans and the Shokan, something unheard of in Outworld's history.
Weaknesses
Easily manipulated
Killed by Sindel
Revenant Kitana was killed by Sindel and Shao Kahn
Was resurrected into a Revenant
Was killed during the Battle of Armageddon in the original timeline
Randy: Oooor at least, that's how this timeline of events unfolded. Originally, things weren't so great for Kitana. In the first timeline, she dies during the fateful Battle of Armageddon, unable to match the most powerful beings in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Greg: Raiden later reset that timeline, but in this new timeline, Sindel gets resurrected, kills her, and Kitana becomes a Revenant, and spends the rest of her days as Empress of the Netherrealm before she got killed by Shao Kahn and Sindel.
Randy: Man time travelling is a serious headache. Wonder how Chronoa and Future Trunks are able to handle it?
Greg: And for the most part, this plays into some of Kitana's weaknesses, she has been manipulated throughout the series on multiple occasions, especially by those with incredible cunning, like Shang Tsung. Plus, she grew up believing Shao Kahn was her father, only later finding out about Jerrod. And while she's experienced, she's been defeated by plenty of younger beings, like Liu Kang, Cassie Cage and Sonya Blade.
Randy: But still none can face the might of the princess of Edenia. If you stand in her way, you're gonna get your ass kicked.
Kitana: I am Kitana, Princess of Outworld! I deal harshly with sharp-tongued intruders!
Taki hunts down DEATH BATTLE
(Brave Sword, Braver Soul - Soul Calibur II)
Greg: Orphaned at a young age when her entire immediate family was taken by sickness, Taki was alone until she was discovered by the master of the Fu-Ma clan of ninja, Toki. From that day forward, Taki was trained in the ways of the ninja. In time, she had become an expert spy, blacksmith, and demon huntress.
Randy: Yep, she traveled throughout Japan hunting demons down while wielding Rekki-Maru, a short sword with magical properties that she forged herself.
Greg: That was until her adoptive father gave all the clan two tasks: kill two rogue ninja, one of whom was Taki's childhood friend, and retrieve the clan's stolen spiritual blade Mekki-Maru.
Randy: Okay, did the writer of this thing seriously slack off until the deadline or what?
Greg: Upon retrieving Mekki-Maru, Taki became suspicious of her adoptive father's behavior. She came to the conclusion that Toki was possessed by Mekki-Maru and Soul Edge was ultimately responsible. Then she soon discovered that her own weapon had begun to weaken...
Randy: ... Right in the middle of a LIFE-OR-DEATH BATTLE with Fury demons! Talk about poor timing. But with that, there was an extra incentive to go after Soul Edge. Well upon reaching Spain, she came across the pirate Cervantes wielding the evil sword, who was about to slew the Greek warrior Sophita, and intervened. In a hard-fought battle, Taki slayed him and took her fellow hot chick back to Greece.
Greg: Upon hearing of Soul Edge's destruction, she had hoped that her master would be back to normal... but then Toki sent his own assassins after her for Mekki-Maru.
Randy: What a dick.
Greg: But with her weapons becoming weaker, Taki attempted to rebuild both weapon's former power with shards of Soul Edge. Mekki-Maru, in particular, bonded with the shards so well that they gave off an immense power that even regular villagers could detect, forcing her to seal the sheathe with cards.

Limitless stamina (with Fu-Ma Kugi)

Greg: In combat, Taki's primary weapon is Rekki-Maru, as she does not often rely on Mekki-Maru nearly as often, though she has come up with multiple attacks that utilize both blades at once. Together, both swords make up her Musō-Battō-ryū fighting style.
Popup: Both Rekki-Maru and Mekki-Maru each possess a shard of Soul Edge, an extremely dead sword that gives the wielder extraordinary power at the cost of being corrupted and turned into Nightmare.
Randy: This fighting styles focuses on close combat, speed and agility, allowing Taki to deal great damage while evading her opponent's own. And she has the clan's Fu-Ma Kugi, which gives Taki unlimited stamina and the ability to slay demonic beings.
Greg: The remainder of her arsenal includes poison darts, which she often tosses on the ground to stun foes. She is also outfitted with shoulder and shin guards and greaves, as well as a mask to prevent her from breathing poisonous and demonic fumes.
Randy: Then there's her red suit. That outfit must be for Kunoichi. Just look at it!
Greg: Actually, no Randy. The suit itself is designed for maximum flexibility and the crimson color is specifically tailored to protect against demons.
Randy: But how do you put that thing on? At least had a zipper: how does Taki do it?!
Greg: I suppose a ninja never reveals their secrets.
Randy: Not only are Taki's weapons magically-enhanced, but she herself is proficient in magical techniques. She can teleport short distances or even into the air, unleash a super-charged fiery uppercut called the Seal of the Fire Dragon, as well as one of her most devastating close-range magic attacks, the Ninja Cannon, shockwaves that stumble or even launch her foes into the air.
Greg: Along with the Blades of Vanquishment, in which she creates two duplicates of herself to finish off a weakened foe.
Feats
Defeated Ivy Valentine, Gel-o-Fury, Toki, and Edgardo
Defeated Cervantes alongside Sophitia
Defeated Fury demons with weakened Rekki-Maru
Evaded capture from her clan
Raised and trained Natsu
Rival of Mitsurugi despite no official battles or outcomes
Able to pull the shard of Soul Edge off Sophita without being corrupted
Was unaffected by the same evil energy that drove turned Toki mad
Greg: Aside from being a veteran demon slayer, Taki is an incredibly skilled warrior. She has defeated Cervantes' daughter Ivy Valentine, the demon Gel-o-Fury, and of course killed her adoptive father.
Randy: She was even able to pull the shards of Soul Edge from Sophitia when normally it would corrupted said shards just by touching it. And she resisted demonic energy that made Toki insane.
Greg: And in her later years in the newly reformed Fu-Ma clan, she would go on to train, raise, protect, and care for her ninja apprentice Natsu... as penance for failing to prevent the demon Arahabaki from entering her body.
Weaknesses
Focus on close-range attacks
Once captured by Geki
Has yet to fully control Mekki-Maru
Failed to stop Arahabaki from enter Natsu's body
Fu-Ma Kugi is only deadly against demons, making it a mediocre weapon against everyone else
Randy: Worst thing is, Taki's even prepared to kill Natsu should the demon ever took control entirely.
Greg: And despite defeating Cervantes, she had essentially battled him after Sophitia had worn him down, making it more of a collaborative victory than anything else. And while she houses incredible power, Taki can be worn down in prolonged combat with multiple adversaries at once.
Randy: Plus while Fu-Ma Kugi grants unlimited stamina, it is only deadly to demonic beings. So it's pretty much a normal weapon against someone else.
Greg: Also, her weapons and attacks are all short-ranged based, which forces her to work extra hard against foes with long-range weapons. Not to mention she has yet to fully master Mekki-Maru.
Randy: But I wouldn't worry too much about her chances. She's one of the Soul Calibur universe's fastest combatants and its fiercest ninja warrior. Respect her... and her skintight jumpsuit.
Taki: It's time... to go back to where you belong.
Randy: All right, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Greg and Randy: It's time... For a DEATH BATTLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Unknown Forest
(Dangerous Gaze - Brandon Yates ft. ToxicxEternity)
Kitana is seen fighting off several several demons with complete ease. After ripping another, Kitana turns to face the last demon.
Kitana: You're not even worth a challenge.
But as the princess of Edenia is about to finish it off, it was beheaded as its head rolled towards Kitana. It is then shown to be Taki wielding Rekki-Maru.
Taki: You're powerful. I can see it.
Kitana: Move along, friend. This land is protected.
Taki: Unfortunately, you stand in the way of me and my mission. The threat you pose to me must be dealt with.
Kitana narrows her eyes as she summons her Steel Fans.
FIGHT!
Taki goes for a stab with both of her blades, which Kitana evades by stepping backward. She then steps forward, unleashing various strikes with her palms. Taki stumbles back, then sees Kitana preparing to strike with her steel fan. As Kitana goes for a strike with both fans at once, Taki draws and spins both of her blades in hand at the same time, knocking one of her steel fans away, then charges her palm with magic and strikes Kitana, knocking her onto her back.
Taki approaches Kitana, who attempts to trip Taki with her feet, but Taki evades it. As Kitana rolls away from her to evade her, Taki leaps into the air. When Kitana surfaces, Taki strikes her with both feet, grounding her once more.
Taki: You're through!
Taki takes the opportunity to charge up her palms for an attack, but Kitana quickly recovers and leaps toward Taki. Wrapping her legs around Taki's head, then prepares to flip her. As Taki is about to strike the ground hard head-first, she manages to position her legs for a quick strike. Taki kicks Kitana off of her, landing on her back instead, as Kitana rolls away and gets up with her Steel Fans.
Kitana: It'll take more than that to defeat me.
Kitana charges at Taki with her steel fans and attempts to impale Taki, who dodges her attacks. Taki swipes her Rekki-Maru at the Edenian princess a few times, but Kitana is able to block it. They clash, and Kitana is able to get the upper hand and bashes Taki with the blunt end of Jade's triblade. Kitana then plants the blade into the ground and spin kicks Taki away. Taki recovers and charges back at Kitana, getting a swift combo of punches and kicks in.
Kitana trades hits with her, and ends it by triple kicking Taki into the air and sending her flying. Taki gets back up and throws a knife at Kitana, which she catches. Kitana throws it back, but Taki deflects it. Taking advantage of the distance, Kitana jumps backwards and draws her Steel Fans to create winds to attack the demon hunting ninja. Taki grunts in pain as the attacks tears some parts of her outfit, revealing skin.
Taki ducks her head, dodging more arrows while closing the gap between her and Kitana. She manages to get behind Kitana and delivers a swift kick to the back of her head. Kitana rolls away to recover and pulls her steel fans back out. She gets a swift cut at Taki but she dodges the next swipe and chops the triblade in half with her Rekki-Maru, then uses Mekki-Maru to slash Kitana.
Kitana and Taki clash with their weapons fan-to-blade. Taki wins the clash but Kitana quickly regains control and gets a couple of good slashes on Taki. Taki is dazed and Kitana goes in for an uppercut, but Taki blocks it and kicks Kitana into a wall. Kitana bounces off and retaliates with a jumping kick, which connects on Taki. Taki then switches to her Fu-Ma Kugi.
Taki: I'm ending this foolishness!
Taki charges at Kitana and begins pummeling her relentlessly with her newly boosted stamina from the Fu-Ma Kugi, finishing the assault with some nasty slashes on Kitana, who is now hunched on the ground and badly wounded.
Taki: Had enough?
Kitana: Not quite.
Kitana gets up with her steel fans and began an all-out assault. Taki again tries to finish Kitana off with fast attacks but Kitana uses her speed to dodge her attacks in the blink of an eye. Kitana slices Taki in the back with her fans, and kicks her back. Taki then drops Rekki-Maru and Fu-Ma Kugi as she's stunned from the attack, leaving her open.
Announcer: FINISH HER!
Kitana summons her steel fans then throws one of them into Taki's stomach, causing her to scream in pain as she's disemboweled before Kitana spins in a rapid pace to create a tornado that sucks the demon ninja's guts in before doing a pose as she's bathed in blood.
Taki's corpse falls to the floor as Kitana floats down.
Announcer: KITANA WINS. FATALITY!
KO!
* Kitana bows before walking away from their fight.
* Taki's gutless body is seen on the floor being pecked by birds.
Results
(Dangerous Gaze again)
Randy: *Sighs* There goes another hot chick to ask out for a date. Better cross her off the list.
Greg: Taki is a skilled and dangerous combatant in the Soul Calibur universe for sure, but Kiatana holds most of the advantages. Given she's 10,000 years old, Kitana had a ridiculous amount of combat experience over Taki.
Randy: And Taki's superior speed isn't going to help because Kitana could match Kabal who can parry bullets.
Greg: Fu-Ma Kugi's ability to give the user limitless stamina means Taki potentially outlast Kitana long enough to strike a fatal blow, but it couldn't technically guarantee a win based on stamina alone. Even then, Kitana's survived worse than what Taki had gone through.
Randy: Plus Taki's armor is designed specifically to defend against demons, which unfortunately Kitana is not. So there's not reason Kitana could deal fatal blows to Taki. But lastly, while both seemed to utilize close combat, Kitana is the only one who actually had a range advantage since it she could create wind from her fans while Taki is more fitted for close quarter combat.
Greg: While Taki held the speed and stamina advantage and matched her in weapons, Kitana simply overwhelmed her in experience, strength and power.
Randy: I guess that's what she gets for not Taki-ng Kitana seriously.
Greg: The winner is Kitana.
* The connections between Kitana and Taki is that both are female ninjas who wear masks, are dressed in skimpy or revealing outfits and use short-ranged, bladed weapons (Steel Fans for Kitana and Rekki-Maru and Mekki-Maru for Taki)
